    Die vorliegende Studie zielt darauf ab, die Strukturen des Heterobildes der Polen in den Romanen der größeren Region Ostravsko zwischen zwei Weltkriegen zu entschlüsseln. Es geht um eine komparative Analyse, die polnische Ethnotypen in den Werken deutscher und tschechischer Autoren dieser Zeit darstellt. Die Region Ostravsko war in der Vergangenheit ein Ziel der polnischen Einwanderung, aber besonders Ostrau war ein multikultureller Ort, an dem die polnische, tschechische, deutsche und jüdische Bevölkerung nebeneinander lebte. Vor allem diese Besonderheiten bilden eine interessante Grundlage für die vorliegende Untersuchung.
    This analysis aims to examine the construction of the Polish heteroimages in novels written between two World wars in the broader region Ostravsko. It is a comparative study which reflects Polish ethnotypes in a wide range of Czech and German authors. Broader Moravian-Silesian region was the target of Polish immigration, but especially Ostrava was also a multicultural center where Polish, Czech, German and Jewish People lived side by side. It is these specifics that create space for the interesting development of all ethnotypes which are the basis of this research.

    Nel recente magistero dei papi si trovano alcune affermazioni concernenti la correlazione teologica fra la Trinità e la famiglia umana. Il modello originario della famiglia deve essere ricercato nel mistero trinitario della vita di Dio. Il tema della famiglia come immagine della Trinità rappresenta una sfida per la riflessione teologica. Qual è il fondamento, la portata e i limiti di un’autentica analogia familiare della Trinità?
    Recent papal teaching has raised the topic of the theological relationship between the Trinity and the human family. The primordial model of the family is to be sought in the Trinitarian mystery of God’s life. This whole area is still under discussion by theologians; they formulate questions about the foundation, meaning and limitations of an analogy of the family with the Trinity. On the one hand, the Trinity is the mirror of the family, the source paradigm of its created identity; on the other hand, the family is seen as a visible reflection of the invisible Trinity. These two perspectives interact with each other. Reflection on the Christian family as a living icon of the Trinity is important not only in the dogmatic but also in the ethical and spiritual forums.

    This work is an attempt to highlight the specific features of nationally oriented and transnational prose texts. Nationally oriented texts reflect history, culture and identity of one nation (e.g. prose by Solzhenitsyn and Krištúfek), transnational texts compound two or more national culture codes (e.g. prose by Brežná, Kaminer, Moníková and Škvorecký). The goal of this study is to identify specific difficulties in the process of their translation and transfer of imagos, that is stereotypical images of other identities. With the use of stylistic method, some typical ways of transmitting these imagos in literary texts are demonstrated.

    Artykuł analizuje obrazy etniczne powieści Wasyla Machny Kalendarz wieczności z zastosowaniem dominującej metody imagologicznej. W pracy skupiono uwagę na problematyce interakcji między własnym a cudzym w ramach prezentowanych w tekście toposów, istotnych w dobie procesów globalizacyjnych. Głównym zadaniem wywiadu naukowego jest badanie obrazów religijnych, które tworzą pewien kod archetypowy w reprezentacji każdego etnotypu. W opracowaniu prześledzono również rolę i funkcje kodu religijnego w wyobraźni autora, cechy geokolturowego i dekoracyjnego imago obrazów etnicznych. W trakcie badania wzięto pod uwagę kontekst etnokulturowego pogranicza jako przestrzeni funkcjowania wielu obcych sobie narodów, granice kulturowe, które w pewnej mierze zostały wyrównane w świetle historycznego i politycznego tła rozwoju wydarzeń powieści Kalendarz wieczności. W wywiadzie przeanalizowano także interakcje wizerunku Ukraińców z heteroobrazami Ormian, Żydów, Polaków i Osmanów w aspekcie religijnym na pograniczu polifonicznym. Udowodniono, że motywem przewodnim powieści Wasyla Machny jest niewidzialna ideologiczna konfrontacja między przedstawicielami określonych wyznań, co najdobitniej zarysowuje się w apokaliptycznych kodach eposu o Mesjaszu.
    The article deals with the ethnoimages in Vasyl Makhno`s novel The Eternal Calendar with the help of the dominant imagological method. The study focuses on issues relevant in the era of globalization of the interaction between own and other within the limits of the topos presented in the text. The article investigates the religious images that form a certain archetypal code in the representation of each ethnic image. The study also analyzes the religious code role and functions in the author`s image creation process. It considers the context of the ethnocultural borderland as the space in which different other nations function, where their cultural boundaries were set in the light of the historical and political background of events developed in the novel The Eternal Calendar. The research examines the interaction between Ukrainians’ self-image and the heteroimages of Armenians, Jews, Poles and Ottomans in its religious aspects and does so within the polyphony of borderlands. The article proves that the leitmotif of Vasyl Makhno`s novel is an invisible ideological confrontation between representatives of certain faiths, which is most vividly represented in the apocalyptic codes of the epic about the Messiah.

    The present text deals with two layers of philosophic psychology/anthropology in the works of Thomas Aquinas and strives to examine the mutual relationships and interrelated meanings between these layers while paying particular attention to the biblical image of a human being as imago Dei. With respect to this aim, the paper contains a justification of the distinction between philosophic psychology, which understands soul as a substantial form of the human being, and dualistic philosophic psychology, which views soul as the subject of activities, or as incomplete substance. This distinction is then confirmed as confronted with the way Thomas Aquinas delimits the human being as imago Dei in his Summa Theologiae, by which means the way we understand this expression becomes more exact, and the importance of Thomas's dualistic terminology, which we encounter in his works, is emphasised at the same time.

    Celem artykułu jest analiza tekstów Rdz 1-11 pod katem zawartego w nich orędzia o postępie cywilizacyjnym ludzkosci. W pierwszej części autor analizuje tekst Rdz 1,26-28 w jego kontekscie literackim i teologicznym: człowiek jako "imago Dei" jest reprezentantem Boga na ziemi i panuje nad ziemia i zwierzetami. W kolejnym punkcie autor analizuje teksty obrazujace progresywny rozwój gospodarczy i kulturowy ludzdkości (zob. Rdz 4,2-4.17-22; 9,1-7.20-27; 11,1-9). Pytanie o granice i uwarunkowania władzy człowieka nad swiatem stworzonym zamyka refleksję nad twórczymi mozliwościami człowieka jako reprezentanta Boga na ziemi.
    The aim of the paper is to explore the advancement of human civilization and the role and impact of human beings, who are to be dominant over animals and subdue the earth. The study is based on the texts of Gen 1–11. First, the author examines Gen 1:26-28 and the two important verbs “have dominion over” and “subdue” in their literary and theological contexts. Created man is an imago Dei and as such has domination over animals and the earth as a representative of God. The next step was to examine the biblical texts which illustrate the progressive, unrestricted growth of the economic and cultural possibilities of humankind (cf. Gen 4:2-4.17-22; 9:1-7, 20-27; 11:1-9). Finally, the author discusses the limitations and restrictions inherent in the progress of human civilization. The extraordinary potential of humankind has its limits, since humanity is only the ambassador of God on earth and thus executes duties in his name, while the earth itself is given to all of mankind and not to any one chosen nation or defined group.

    The aim of the article is to present (selected) assumptions of anthropology that underlies the theology of the body of John Paul II. The author analyzes its main assumptions and confronts them with inadequate anthropology, which underlies the sexual revolution that is considered as distorting the sense of the human body in the light of Revelation. This study focuses on the analysis of the contents of the catechisms of John Paul II referring to texts about human relativity andthe role that the body plays in this context. The analysis does not include those texts that refer to the reality of the sin of the first people. The text also aims at emphasizing the importance of the theology of the body for modern man and his spiritual development.

    In the encyclical „Fides et ratio”, John Paul II appealed for a return to a sincere dialogue between theology and philosophy. The current article attempts to respond to the Popeʼs appeal, going a step further towards building a constructive dialogue between theology and psychology. Without minimizing the historical tensions between theology and psychology, the author turns to the interpretation of human existence, seeing in it the potential locus and kairos of these separate scientific disciplines, which meet inevitably, facing the mystery of humanity. In order to show possible ways of complementing theology and psychology, the author turns to spiritual theology and existential psychotherapy.
    W encyklice „Fides et ratio” Jan Paweł II apelował o powrót do szczerego dialogu teologii z filozofią. Obecny artykuł podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na apel papieża, idąc krok dalej, w stronę budowania konstruktywnego dialogu pomiędzy teologią oraz psychologią. Nie pomniejszając historycznych napięć pomiędzy teologią oraz psychologią, autor zwraca się ku interpretacji egzystencji ludzkiej, widząc w niej potencjalny locus oraz kairos tych odrębnych dyscyplin naukowych, które spotykają się jednak nieuchronnie, stając wobec misterium człowieczeństwa. W celu ukazania możliwych dróg dopełniania się teologii oraz psychologii autor zwraca się ku teologii duchowości oraz ku psychoterapii egzystencjalnej.

    Dwa opowiadania o stworzeniu świata i człowieka, które otwierają Księgę Rodzaju (1,1–2,4a oraz 2,4b–25), stanowią podstawę antropologii biblijnej, a tym samym także antropologii chrześcijańskiej. Wbrew ideologii gender i silnemu kryzysowi antropologicznemu podkreślają, że cielesność i zróżnicowanie płci stanowią integralne elementy porządku świata stworzonego przez Boga. Ukazują płciowość jako dar związany z cielesną kondycją człowieka, ale wykraczający poza nią i odwzorowujący coś z Boga, który jest absolutnie bezcielesny. Człowiekowi została wyznaczona absolutnie unikatowa rola polegająca na tym, że ma być w świecie swoistą ikoną Boga. Staranny dobór hebrajskiego słownictwa i specyficzna gramatyka, z wyraźnym nawiązaniem do cech fizycznych właściwych dla płci męskiej i żeńskiej, uwypuklają równość mężczyzny i kobiety. Skoro cały człowiek jest obrazem i odwzorowaniem bezcielesnego Boga, dotyczy to również jego strony cielesnej. Obrazem Boga w człowieku jest więc również bogaty i tajemniczy dynamizm płciowości, którego owoc stanowi miłość.
    The two stories of the creation of the world and man that open the book of Genesis (1:1 – 2:4a and 2:4b–25) form the basis of biblical anthropology and thus also of Christian anthropology. Contrary to gender ideology and a strong anthropological crisis, they emphasise that corporality and gender diversity are integral elements of God’s created world order. They show sexuality as a gift connected to, but transcending, the corporeal condition of man and reproducing something of God, who is absolutely incorporeal. Man has been assigned an absolutely unique role in that he is to be a kind of icon of God in the world. The careful choice of Hebrew vocabulary and specific grammar, with clear references to the physical characteristics proper to the male and female sex, emphasise the equality of man and woman. Since the whole man is an image and representation of the incorporeal God, this also applies to his bodily side. The image of God in man is therefore also the rich and mysterious dynamism of sexuality, the fruit of which is love.

    Increasingly, many confessors are confronted with penitents who have become involved with pornography.  This article provides some statistics illustrating the scope of pornography and then analyzes the harm that pornography causes, both to the dignity of the human person and in relation to the virtues of chastity and justice.  The article invites confessors to help penitents understand that involvement with pornography is more than simply breaking a commandment, but rather affects a penitent’s capacity for self-giving and thus one’s authentic emotional and spiritual growth.  Confessors should guide penitents who struggle with this issue to cultivate the true vision of human love in place of the distorted image offered by pornographic material.  The confessor should be prepared to turn a penitent’s attention to effective spiritual remedies as well as in some cases suggesting a penitent seek professional assistance so that the authentic image of God may be restored and the penitent be helped to attain true freedom from the vice of pornography.

    Opis:
    Sensitivity of imagines and larvae of the lesser mealworm to selected species and strains of entomopathogenic nematodes was studied in a pine sawdust litter on which chicken were kept from one to six weeks according to their production cycle (Niemiec 1998). The following nematode species and strains were used: S. feltiae from bioinsecticides Ovinema and Nemaplus, S. affinis, S. carpocapsae and H. bacteriophora strain Brecon. S. feltiae from biopreparation Ovinema appeared most invasive to the larvae and imagines of A. diaperinus.
    Wrażliwość imago i larw pleśniakowca lśniącego Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer 1797) w ściółce z trocin na wybrane gatunki i szczepy nicieni Steinernematidae i Heterorhabditidae w warunkach laboratoryjnych. Celem badań było określenie wpływu nicieni entomopatogenicznych na śmiertelność larw i postaci imaginalnych pleśniakowca lśniącego Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer 1797) w ściółce z trocin sosnowych. Zbadano przeżywalność stadiów rozwojowych owadów w cyklu produkcyjnym hodowli kurcząt. Stwierdzono, że ze wzrostem stężenia amoniaku pochodzącym z odchodów kurcząt maleje inwa-zyjność nicieni entomopatogenicznych. Nicienie żyły tylko do trzeciego tygodnia cyklu produkcyjnego kurcząt. Najbardziej skutecznym gatunkiem w stosunku do larw i imago pleśniakowca okazał się S. feltiae z biopreparatu Ovinema. Trociny sosnowe są lepszym podłożem niż ściółka słomiana do zwalczania pleśniakowca lśniącego w brojlerniach.

    The author points out that dignity, equality, and freedom are leading themes of the European Union policy and should be respected and upheld if understood personalistically. He agrues that the subjectivity of the individual person, rather than that of the public state, underlines the context of interpreting those themes which are the liberal values the Western society purports to cultivate. Therefore, he claims that dignity is grounded on the understanding of man as imago Dei, equality is doubly grounded in both the unique identity and incommunicability of each human person, and freedom is doubly grounded in the dual responsibility of each human person for his or her actions as well as the responsibility we share for each human life from conception to natural death.

Chez Nicolas de Cues cette question se pose en termes de déroulement de la liberté de l’être humain, comme imago imitationis creata, à travers cette union personnelle avec l’Absolu.
    In this article the author deals with a theme of mystical speculation that regards the question of whether the human being can reach a complete union with the origin or principle of being within the context of Nicholas of Cusa's notion of imago repraesentationis. In Nicholas of Cusa, this question is posed in terms of the unfolding of the human beings freedom, as imago imitationis creata, through that personal union with the Absolute.

    A continuing threat of infestation to forest stands by the nun moth (Lymantria monacha) and difficulties in predicting the mass occurrence of this species necessitate precise analyses of the changes in the nun moth abundance over time and space. The paper provides a comparative analysis of the abundance of larvae and butterflies on the same control plots in the years 1996 – 2001. The observations demonstrated that the changes in the abundance of larvae and butterflies – males were directly proportional. A distinct difference was found only in 2001. Inspections indicated a relatively high number of larvae and a significant decline in the number of butterflies – males as compared with the previous year. Such differences in the abundance of these two developmental stages may have resulted from the high mortality of individuals during their development and give a picture of different development of this foliophage population.

    Artykuł podejmuje temat reinterpretacji teologii imago Dei według modelu nupcjalnego. Rozważania te zostały wpisane we współczesny kontekst rozwoju teologii obrazu Bożego. Wychodząc od myśli Soboru Watykańskiego II, ukazana została możliwość uznania, że podstawowym wymiarem bycia obrazem Bożym jest strukturalne otwarcie człowieka na relacje. Uwzględniając postulat chrystologicznej reorientacji teologii, wraz z twierdzeniem o komunijnym charakterze bycia obrazem Bożym, pokazano zalety i konsekwencje takiej reinterpretacji. Główne wnioski dotyczą wieloaspektowego podkreślenia znaczenia relacji, zwłaszcza tych kościelnych, w realizacji bycia imago Dei. Szczególny walor tej reinterpretacji został ukazany na przykładzie teologii małżeństwa.
    The article deals with the topic of reinterpretation of theology imago Dei according to the nuptial mystery model. These considerations were included in the contemporary context of the development of the theology of the image of God. Starting from the thoughts of the Second Vatican Council, there was shown the possibility of recognizing that the basic dimension of being the image of God is the structural openness of man to relationships. Taking into account the postulate of Christological reorientation of theology, along with the statement about the communion-like nature of being the image of God, the advantages and consequences of such a reinterpretation were shown. The main conclusions concern the multi-faceted emphasis on the importance of relations, especially ecclesiastical, in the realization of being imago Dei. The particular value of this reinterpretation was shown on the example of the theology of marriage.

    The complex theological treatment of the person as imago Dei has focused on ontological, functional, relational or eschatological interpretations, which either belong or possibly belong to all human beings. It is however unusual to encounter a reflection on the person’s intrinsic uniqueness as imago Dei. For Edith Stein intrinsic or a priori individuality refers to a unique quality of the person’s soul which unfolds more or less fully in the unity of the person’s body-soul-spirit unity: «the soul is destined for eternal being, and this destination explains why the soul is called upon to be an image of God in a “wholly personal manner.”» (FEB 504 [422]) This ontological approach contributes to a consideration of interpersonal enrichment through love, as a way to personal fulfilment and to complementarity through communion. An ontological approach to personal individuality thus paradoxically leads to the discovery of the existential primacy of relationality.

    Cet article est une analyse des homélies et discours de Jean-Paul II sur la famille et le mariage en Afrique. Le Saint Père présente la famille et le mariage comme originaire du plan de Dieu. La famille et le mariage participent et se réalisent uniquement dans le dessein divin. L’objectif principal de l’article est de montrer leurs origines transcendantales afin de pouvoir agir efficacement contre la polygamie et d’autres maux, qui règnent dans diverses cultures africaines. Cet article est une approche comparative de l’unité des personnes dans le mariage et dans la famille comme reflet de la Sainte Trinité et de la présence sacramentelle du Christ dans l’Église. Il vise aussi à montrer comment la question de la famille et du mariage (décrite par Jean-Paul II) apparaît comme une voix d’espérance pour la restauration du projet de Dieu sur ces réalités en Afrique, dans les dimensions sociologiques, anthropologiques et théologiques.
    This article is an analysis of John Paul II’s homilies and speeches on family and marriage in Africa. The Holy Father presents the family and marriage as originating from theplan of God. The family and marriage life is a participation in the divine plan of God. The main objective of the article is to show their transcendent origin in order to be able to acteffectively against polygamy and other evils, which prevail in various African cultures. This article is a comparative approach to the unity of persons in marriage and in the family as a reflection of the Holy Trinity and the sacramental presence of Christ in the Church. It also aims to show how the issue of family and marriage (described by John Paul II)appears as a voice of hope for the restoration of God’s project on these realities in Africa, in the sociological, anthropological and theological dimensions.

    The purpose of this article is to give the evidence that the anthropology of imago Dei could be considered as the groundwork for the common anthropology valid for the whole Christianity and it also depicts the vision of man as the answer to the demands of every human being of the postmodernism epoch. The starting point of our reflection is the fact of the return of the interest in anthropology in the 20th century among the theologians of the three great Christian denominations: Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic. When in the 20th century the ecumenical movement appeared, theological anthropology, which both joins and divides Churches, became very crucial and still it is getting more and more important. After many years of ecumenical dialogues we can affirm that, despite the differences, all Christians understand man as a imago Dei – the image of God. He was not only created as such, but has always been, despite the original sin. Man is the image of God One in the Holy Trinity who lives in mutual relations, that is why human being is also highly relational. He lives in the relation with God, with another human being, and with the created world over which he was appointed as the master and manager. All Christian Churches which took part in the ecumenical dialogue agree that the source of this anthropology is the Bible; they will also agree about the original sin and his consequences for the human nature considered in the light of Jesus Christ; finally, they will agree on imago Dei as the foundation of the personal dignity of man. There are still differences, the questions that require more theological work, for example distinction between image and likeness; the concept of theosis – deification present in the orthodox theology and considered as problematic by the protestant theology; the Churches teaching about the ordination of women and homosexuality. At the end of the article we have some examples of the perspectives that give the anthropology of the image of God. This concept of human can help to overcome the contemporary crisis of anthropology, the result of the postmodernism. This anthropology also claims that all Christian Churches are able to give the common answer to the ethics questions such as abortion, euthanasia or genetic manipulations. The author also suggests that all Christian Churches, as the starting point and foundation, should take not only the Bible, but the anthropology of the Fathers of Church as well.

    Artykuł ukazuje życie i dzieło bazylianina Jerzego Joannikija Bazyłowicza (1742-1821). Należy on do najbardziej zasłużonych bazylianów w historii grekokatolickiej eparchii Mukaczewo na Ukrainie. Był on protoihumenem siedmiu klasztorów bazyliańskich przez okres trzydziestu dwóch lat. Bazilovič zwracał szczególną uwagę na formację i życie duchowe zakonników, a tym samym pragnął podnieść poziom życia zakonnego ówczesnych bazylianów. Okres jego działalności uznaje się za złoty wiek eparchii mukaczewskiej, a napisane przez niego dzieła za klejnoty duchowości zakonnej tego okresu. Artykuł ukazuje szczegółowo jego trzy dzieła ascetyczne, które miały ogromny wpływ na kształtowanie się wschodniego monastycyzmu w cerkwi grekokatolickiej na Zakarpaciu na przełomie XVIII i XIX wieku. Jego głównymi dziełami z zakresu duchowości zakonnej są to dwa rękopisy, dotyczące reguł i konstytucji zakonnych oraz dzieło drukowane: Imago vitae monasticae. Jest on ponadto autorem wyjaśnienia Boskiej liturgii.
    This article discusses the life and legacy of the Basilian Father George John Bazylovitch (1742-1821). He is one of the most outstanding Basilians in the history of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Mukacheve. He was provincial superior of seven Basilian monasteries within the timespan of thirty two years. Bazylowitch paid special attention to the formation and spiritual life of the monks, wishing to raise the level of the monastic life of the Basilians under his supervision. The time of his supervision over the Basilian monastery is considered a golden age of the Eparchy of Mukacheve, and the works he authored are regarded as masterpieces of the monastic spirituality of that era. The article discusses in detail three of his ascetic works, which influenced considerably the shape of Eastern monasticism of the Greek-Catholic Church in Transcarpathia at the turn of the 19th century. Bazylovitch’s major contributions in the field of monastic spirituality are his two manuscripts concerning the monastic rules and constitutions; as well as one printed work, entitled: Imago vitae monasticae. He also authored a text of explanation of the Divine Liturgy.
