    The aim of the study is to investigate the link between body self and identity processes in women who experienced sexual violence and in women without such experiences. Measurement of identity processes, using Identity and Experience Scale by Whitbourne, Sneed and Skultety, and body-self, using Questionnaire of Body Self by Sakson-Obada, were administered among control and clinical group. The control group consisted of 149 women who have not experienced sexual violence and in clinical group there were 43 women with sexual trauma. Results show that sexual trauma could lead to distortions in experiencing own body. Whereas difficulties in assimilation and integration those traumatic experiences indicate that sexual violence and changes in perception of own body might be a threat for coherence of identity.

    Opis:
    The work by Maria Gołaszewska does not establish the foundation for a comprehensive, broadly understood philosophy of man, it instead provides the reader with various synthetic approaches which together form an integral and complete philosophical position. Serafin attempts to identify the main features of the idea of man developed by Maria Gołaszewska and to analyze them in the context of theories of esthetics. Three aspects of the idea of man are here taken into consideration. The first one points at man’s ability to capture the structure of the world and to constitute the anthrop sphere (anthrop sphere structuring). Another aspect pertains to man’s processes of self-identification by which one overcomes oppositions encountered in the world and in oneself. The third aspect amounts to axiological nature of man positioned in the center of axiological universum.

    According to the self-expansion model, people are motivated to increase their sense of personal agency by expanding their sense of self through the acquisition of new identities. We conducted two studies to explore whether the feeling of self-expansion, resulting from multiple group memberships, is related to self-efficacy, and to test whether agentic and communal self-stereotyping mediated this relation. In Study 1 conducted in Poland (N1 = 102), and Study 2 among undergraduate students from Poland, Spain, and Sweden (N2 = 450), a significant indirect effect of self-expansion on self-efficacy through agentic (but not communal) self-stereotyping emerged.

    Prezentowany tekst jest wprowadzeniem do rozprawy o formowaniu się Międzymorza, którego kraje w XIX oraz XX wieku pozbawione były bytu politycznego i suwerenności. Stało się to przyczyną uformowania specyfi cznej tożsamości w napięciu między demokracją Zachodu i samodzierżawiem Rosji. Społeczności Międzymorza nie brały zatem udziału w kształtowaniu struktur nowożytnych państw narodowych w XIX stuleciu. Tekst wprowadza w problematykę włączania krajów Międzymorza w zachodni system polityczny po przemianach 1989 roku.
    The presented text is an introduction to the study of the formation of the Intermarium, which in the 19th and 20th centuries included countries that lacked political existence or had limited sovereinty. This fact has now conditioned the identity of these peoples in the space between Western democracy and Russian autocracy. The peoples of the Intermarium were under the dominance of other countries, so they did not participate in the formation of modern nation-states in the 19th century. The text is an attempt to outline the formation of the political system of Western Europe (Latin), which constituted the starting point for the countries of the Intermarium in creating their own political systems (after 1989).

    The article addresses the infl uence on Central Asian reality exerted by naming and the practice of identifying the peoples inhabiting this area by dominant Others. I note that the identifi cation of those human communities was always an act of aggression that led to establishing a relation between rulers and those subordinate to them. I submit that what joins various epochs in the history of the human communities of Central Asia is not imperialism but rather colonialism, and propose describing those processes by means of a systemic concept of colonialism. Imperial practice in Central Asia was based on subordinating tribal communities and non-national states without deeper interference into their inner structures. Up until the 20th century the three great powers jockeyed above all to block one another. The change following the collapse of the USSR did not lead to the creation of regional independence. Rather, the national identities of the new states are a product of the modernization compelled by Soviet policies. This especially concerns small communities that, always valuing their autonomy, did not strike observers-explorers as material for nations. The preponderance of the external point of view along with the infl uence of images arisen in the dominant surrounding (including that of science) maintain these local communities in a state of backwardness. Identifi cation and classifi cation remain an eff ective tool for blocking their path toward establishing a new identity.

    The article presents a study concerning the relations between identity formation processes as theorized by Luyckx and colleagues (2008) and the formation of self-authoring personality according to Obuchowski (2011). The aim of the study was to establish whether and how identity formation processes are related to the overall level of self-authoring (manifesting itself in the levels of agency, intentionality, meaning in life, and creative adaptation), whether and how particular characteristics of self-authoring personality explain the intensity of identity formation processes, and whether and how the intensity of identity formation processes determines the formation of self-authoring personality. The participants were 140 people aged 30 to 39 (M = 33.15, SD = 2.48). The results indicate positive associations of the processes of commitment making and identification with commitment with the overall level of self-authoring and as well as a negative association between ruminative exploration and the overall level of self-authoring. A strong relationship was found between the configuration of variables making up a non-self-authoring personality and the configuration of variables referred to as ruminative moratorium.
