Opis:
“Nostalghia” (1983) by Andrei Tarkowski is an outstanding materialization of Hegel’s concept of a work of art. Te flm is that pretense which is a bridge between perceptually perceptible matter and inexpressible idea. It is a work of art that, in a mediated way, abolishes the dialectics of sensory and conceptual experience and becomes in itself a beauty shining through a metaphysical, even mystical thought, elusive and elusive. Nothing essentially defnes Tarkowski’s cinema, and in particular “Nostalgia”, whose main symbolic heroine is a gothic temple that embodies the idea that shines through through the symbolism of light. Inexpressible for centuries, intuition of the Soul, God, Creator – is realized through the gothic cathedral. Tere is a great return to the sources, to the Absolute – to the worlds of Plato, Pseudo-Dionysius Aeropagita and divine light. Te idea behind Tarkowski found a material, architectural medium, which with its majesty expresses the heart and soul – speaking in silence with eternity. Perhaps a work of flm art, as a synthesis of arts, can be the most perfect medium known to man, which allows, by uniting a variety of rich means of expression, to capture and visualize the inexpressible.

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI states that “The true problem of our times is the «Crisis of God»”. In his scientific achievements and the proclaimed kerygma all the reasons for that phenomenon can be found. Moreover, he indicates the consequences of the changes and processes for the religious life, theology and contemporary culture. The retired Pope appears in his works not only as an astute observer of the modern world’s phenomena but also the one who warns against its negative effects. At the same time he formulates solutions to the emerging problems.

Opis:
Great thoughts: philosophical systems, intellectual currents and ideological outlooks are affected by the laws of historical change. The author briefly presents the following laws: (a) universal presence of mythology, irrespective of the degree of its cultural influence; (b) the law of ideological pluralism (a single global ideological system would thwart any great thought); (c) the law of historical sequencing and of historical continuity; (d) the law of historical pendulum; (e) inevitable presence of structural shortcomings (statements about the ultimate, cognitively exhaustive nature of one's own system of thought and the declaration that it offers sufficient instruments for creating heaven on earth); (f) degeneration of a system due to false founding premises (e.g. „freedom” as an essential of its own right, separated from truth, good, justice and the love of kin, which has led to the creation of the ideology of the European Union and leads it towards chaos, nihilism and atheism.). A vital denominator of any great thought is its reference to an idea of God. Jesus Christ, as the crown of all creation (Eph. 1:10) is also a redeemer of great thoughts and philosophical systems.

The purpose of this article is to present original philosophical concept by Henryk Rzewuski. This nineteenth century Polish thinker was (and still is) extremely controversial person, accused of national “apostasy” for the Tsarist Russia and the spread of beliefs about the irrevocable end of the Polish state. In this text reveals the complexity and ambivalence Rzewuskiego attitude towards the Polish cause. This philosopher believed that indeed the Polish state will not be standing free himself from the Russian political sovereignty. At the same time, however, was an ardent supporter of building the Polish national philosophy, which would illustrate Polishness and develop in the sphere of the ideal and spiritual. Polish history has to be – within its concept – the material from which the philosopher sees that these thoughts and ideas around which crytallized Polish spirit, and that reflect the basic idea of moral. The spirit of the nation and its moral idea meet, according to this philosopher, the functions analogous to that of the soul to the body – is a condition of life and the unity of its geopolitical “body.”

Opis:
The metaphor of the sun, in which Plato (Republic 509b) compares the idea of the Good to the sun that dwells above the earth yet affects the phenomena occurring on it, was an inspiration for both heretical and orthodox theology in the first Christian centuries. The Gnostics, Clement of Alexandria and Origen all believed that God, like the Platonic idea of the Good, is radically transcendent in relation to the world, but at the same time is the cause of everything that exists in it. Unlike Plato, who believed that the idea of the Good is knowable and can be the subject of science, the Christian theologians of the first centuries believed that God was like a blinding light. This means that God, according to them, though intelligible, is unknowable in His essence. Therefore, God cannot be the subject of science. Another modification of the Platonic metaphor was the introduction of the element of sunlight, to which the philosopher from Athens did not refer. For the Gnostics, the rays of the sun were “eons” – spiritual beings that existed in the space between the first principle of all things and the material world. For Clement and Origen, the light that comes from the sun was the Son – the power and wisdom of God. In contrast to the Gnostics, who believed in the progressive degradation of the spiritual world through successive emanations, the Alexandrian Fathers believed that the Son possessed all the knowledge of God and therefore revealed to man the true God. Yet the revelation of God by the Son, and even the grace that assists human beings in the process of learning about God, do not give man complete knowledge of the essence of God. Thus the Gnostics, Clement and Origen, despite some doctrinal differences, all accepted the concept of the radical transcendence of God on the ontological and epistemological levels.
