Opis:: The hybrid structures show excellent performance on vibration reduction for ship, aircraft and spacecraft designs. Meanwhile, the topology optimization is widely used for structure vibration reduction and weight control. The design of hybrid structures considering simultaneous materials selection and topology optimization are big challenges in theoretical study and engineering applications. In this paper, according to the proposed laminate component method (LCM) and solid isotropic microstructure with penalty (SIMP) method, the mathematical formulations are presented for concurrent materials selection and topology optimizations of hybrid structures. Thickness distributions of the plies in laminate components are defined as materials selection design variables by LCM method. Relative densities of elements in the components are defined as topology design variables by SIMP method. Design examples of hybrid 3-bar truss structures and hybrid floating raft with vibration reduction requirements verified the effectiveness of the presented optimization models.

Opis:: In this paper, the structure of a high-efficiency solar cell is presented by using a combination of quantum dots of germanium arrays and silicon nanowires on a thin film silicon layer. Due to the low absorption coefficient of silicon, this type of solar cell does not have high efficiency. According to the capability of the quantum structure in absorbing the incident photons and the generation of electron-hole pairs, this structure is proposed. Moreover, nanowires as an appropriate suggestion are applied in our work aiming to improve light scattering and optical photon absorption for the generation of carriers. Both of the electrical and optical characteristics of the solar cell are calculated by using a finite-difference time-domain method. Owing to the change of the nanowire length and increasing the number of quantum dot in our work, maximum power absorption is achieved. The achieved results provide a considerable improvement in efficiency and short-circuit current density. The efficiency is improved up to 17.5% and the short-circuit current density in the active layer of thickness 1170 nm has been provided to be 42.6 mA/cm². The open circuit voltage for this cell is calculated to be 0.47 V. The achieved results provide a considerable improvement in efficiency and short-circuit current density in comparison with previously published method.

Opis:: Paradoksy są wszechobecne we współczesnym zarządzaniu organizacjami, a jednym z nich jest paradoks eksploracji i eksploatacji. Chcąc realizować z powodzeniem obie te aktywności, przedsiębiorstwa potrzebują odpowiednich struktur łączących cechy z różnych modelowych rozwiązań. Potrzebują zatem struktur hybrydowych. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja i ocena struktur organizacyjnych przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących w Polsce z perspektywy realizacji strategii oburęcznej i przy uwzględnieniu wieku, wielkości oraz fazy rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa. Na podstawie badań przeprowadzonych na próbie 363 firm stwierdzono, że hybrydowe rozwiązania organizacyjne oparte na silnej strukturalnej dyferencjacji oraz towarzyszących jej formalnych mechanizmach koordynacji charakteryzują firmy większe i starsze, które realizują działania eksploracyjne i eksploatacyjne w sposób symultaniczny.
Paradoxes are ubiquitous in modern management. One example is the paradox of exploration and exploitation. In order to successfully implement both of these activities, enterprises need appropriate organisational structures that combine features from various organisational solutions. Therefore, they need hybrid structures. The paper’s goal is to identify and evaluate the organisational structures of companies operating in Poland from the perspective of the ambidextrous strategy, taking into account the age, size, and organisational life cycle. Based on the research conducted on the sample of 363 companies, it was found that hybrid organisational structures including strong structural differentiation and formal coordination mechanisms characterise larger and older companies that carry out exploration and exploitation activities simultaneously.

Opis:: Miasta są bez wątpienia naturalnym środowiskiem życia współczesnego człowieka. Szacuje się, że do 2050 roku aż 70% populacji naszego globu będzie mieszkało w miastach i rozrastających się metropoliach. Rola zielonych terenów rekreacyjnych, zapewniających mieszkańcom komfort i przyczyniających się do poprawy warunków życia, zwłaszcza w największych ośrodkach, jest nie do przecenienia. Pośród miast europejskich, Metropolia Barcelońska należy do pierwszej dziesiątki. Na obszarze jedynie dwukrotnie większym od Krakowa zamieszkuje ponad 3 miliony osób, a w sąsiednich miejscowościach – kolejne 2 miliony. Władze miejskie i regionalne starają się zachować równowagę pomiędzy obszarami zurbanizowanymi a naturalnymi, w czym pomaga szczególna dbałość o system zieleni miejskiej. Wieloetapowa realizacja przestrzeni zielonych w północnych dzielnicach mieszkaniowych Barcelony, której elementem był Parc Central de Nou Barris wpisuje się w najnowsze strategie urbanistyczne realizowane w metropolii.
Undoubtedly, cities constitute a natural environment for the life of contemporary man. It is estimated that by 2050 as much as 70% of population of our globe will be living in cities and sprawling metropolises. The role of green recreational areas, providing residents with confront and contributing to the improvement of their living conditions, especially in the largest centres, simply cannot be overrated. From amongst European cities, the Barcelona Metropolis belongs to the first ten. An area which is only twice as large as Cracow is inhabited by over 3 million people, and the population of the adjacent towns is another 2 million. Municipal and regional authorities are trying to keep the balance between urbanized and natural areas, and the particular care for the municipal greenery system is particularly useful in this respect. Multistage projects of securing green areas in northern residential quarters of Barcelona, whose element was Parc Central de Nou Barris, inscribe in the latest urban strategies implemented in the metropolis.

Opis:: The growth in high-rise building construction has increased the need for hybrid reinforced concrete and steel structural systems. Columns in buildings are the most important elements because of their seismic resistance. Reinforced concrete (RC) columns and steel columns were used herein to form hybrid structural systems combining their distinct advantages. Eleven 3D building models subjected to earthquake excitation with reinforced concrete beams and slabs of 12 floors in height and with different distributions of mixed columns were analyzed by the SAP2000 software in order to investigate the most suitable distributions of a combination of reinforced concrete and steel columns. Top displacements and accelerations, base normal forces, base shear forces, and base bending moments were computed to evaluate the selected hybrid structural systems. The findings are helpful in evaluating the efficiency of the examined hybrid high-rise buildings in resisting earthquakes.

Opis:: The height growth dynamics of three interspecific crosses with Greek fir (Abies cephalonica Loud.) acting as mother and a control variant from self-pollination were followed throughout a period of 30 years. The hybrid combination A. cephalonica × A. nordmanniana exhibited enhanced growth relative to the selfed control at stage of 4-year old seedlings already, whereas the hybrid A. cephalonica × A. alba only at stage of 9-year old saplings. At age of 30, the heterotic growth persisted only in the latter, the hybrid A. cephalonica × A.nordmanniana was comparable in height growth parameters with a selfed control. The interspecific cross A. cephalonica × A. numidica was remarkable by its accelerated growth during early stages of the development. At age of 4 years it has surpassed in height growth both A. cephalonica × A. alba and control but has declined profoundly during subsequent stages of its development. A conspicuous feature of the hybrid needle anatomy were abundant resin canals and reduced size of some anatomical traits of its needles. In spite of variable growth potentials, all the three interspecific hybrids are recommended for planting in Slovakia, especially at densely polluted areas where domestic silver fir cannot withstand emission pressure.

Opis:: The paper presents an example of reliability analysis of shell structures susceptible to stability loss from the condition of node snapping. In the reliability analysis of the structure, uncertain parameters of the task are represented by uncorrelated random variables. The approach used in the paper is an extension of the idea, which assumes the use of Neural Networks (NNs) in Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to analyze the reliability of the structure. For this purpose, it was necessary to build a simple hybrid system formed with the two independent sequentially working Finite Element Method (FEM) and Neural Networks applications.

Opis:: The paper considers the production scheduling problem in a hybrid flow shop environment with sequence-dependent setup times and the objectives of minimizing both the makespan and the total tardiness. The multi-objective genetic algorithm is applied to solve this problem, which belongs to the non-deterministic polynomial-time (NP)-hard class. In the structure of the proposed algorithm, the initial population, neighborhood search structures and dispatching rules are studied to achieve more efficient solutions. The performance of the proposed algorithm compared to the efficient algorithm available in literature (known as NSGA-II) is expressed in terms of the data envelopment analysis method. The computational results confirm that the set of efficient solutions of the proposed algorithm is more efficient than the other algorithm.

Opis:: In this paper, the hybrid method connects the ultrasonic spraying method with a injector of complex cooling micro-jet system is presented. The use of properly constructed injector allows for local and selective cooling of the coating structure immediately after spraying process. The construction of injector is the subject of patent in Polen. The presented new technology gives practical possibility of control of coatings structure. This is the kind of positive feedback between the technology process and obtained product (the quality of the process increases the quality of the final product). The initial experimental investigations, presented in this paper, show, that the obtained coatings structure is: fine-dispersion of the grain, with a lower porosity, good compactness and adhesion to the substrate.

Opis:: This paper deals with the development of mechanism with hybrid kinematic structure called trivariant and its subsystems. Hybrid machines are characterized by connecting advantages of both type mechanisms together - high dynamics of parallel mechanisms for positioning and high flexibility and high mobility range of serial mechanisms for orientation. At our department was built the small-scale mechanism prototype used for testing, functional verification, for education and training. There was created the simulation software and control system based on standard PC for this prototype. Our prototype can be applied like small CNC milling machine but it is possible to modify it also for the manipulation with objects like robot device.

Opis:: The aim of the work was to perform adequate selection of the phase composition of the composite designated for permanent - mould casting air compressor pistons. The hybrid composites based on AlSi7Mg matrix alloy reinforced with mixture of silicon carbide (SiC) and glassy carbon (Cg) particles were fabricated by the stir casting method. It has been shown that the proper selection of chemical composition of matrix alloy and its modification by used magnesium and strontium additions gives possibility to obtain both the advantageous casting properties of composite suspensions as well as good bonding between particles reinforcements and matrix.

Opis:: Consistency problem in management has been present for some time now. However, organizational consistency usually deals with specific elements that are a given part of an organization, and that need to suit each other. In this article, consistency is seen from a different perspective – as a holistic problem that embraces every aspect of organizations. Moreover, even in the holistic approach, the problem of consistency profile is essential. In every organizational structure, consistency must be achieved, but differently. Thus, the question of what kind of consistency is possible or necessary in terms of a kind of organizational structure arises. The article tries to answer this question. In functional structures, managers have a kind of freedom when they decide on what the consistency platforms should be like. When the organization operates in process or hybrid structures, there is no freedom, and only process profile of consistency platforms should be chosen. The main subject of the article is to drive our attention to consistency as a whole. The article also provides the distinction of the consistency approach according to organizational structure. The outcome may have a great application value for managers.
Problem spójności jest już obecny w zarządzaniu od jakiegoś czasu. Jednak, zwykle odnosi się on do specyficznych elementów wydzielonych w organizacjach, które muszą do siebie pasować. W niniejszym artykule spójność rozpatrywana jest z innej perspektywy – jako całościowy system, który obejmuje całą organizację. Ponadto, nawet w podejściu holistycznym pozostaje problem profilu spójności – w każdej organizacji należy dążyć do spójności, ale w inny sposób. W ten sposób pojawia się kwestia dopasowania spójności do struktur organizacyjnych. Ta kwestia analizowana jest w artykule. W strukturach funkcjonalnych menadżerowie mają względna swobodę w decydowaniu o spójności organizacyjnej oraz o platformach spójności. W strukturach procesowych i hybrydowych takiej swobody nie ma. Głównym zadaniem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na problem spójności oraz na konieczność zmiany podejścia w zależności od rodzaju struktury organizacyjnej. Rozważania mają charakter zarówno teoretyczny jak i sporą wartość aplikacyjną.

Opis:: The effect of cold pretreatment of spikes on somatic embryo induction and anther culture response of 25 F₁ winter wheat hybrids was investigated. The efficiency of androgenic embryos was the highest when spikes were incubated at 4°C for 6-9 days. A total of 2242 (73.0%) green and 885 (27.0%) albino plants were obtained from 9900 cultured anthers. Anther culture response in wheat was found to be markedly affected by the genotype of donor plants. The percentage of green plants varied from 0 to 115.7%. A great majority of anther-derived regenerants were haploids (82.35%), while the remaining plants were spontanoeus diploids (13.73%) and aneuploids (3.92%).
