    In engineering the human is considered as one of the system elements. In most studies, his/her model remains unchanged due to the external factors. The present study shows that a relation between the mental stress and human dynamics cannot be neglected. The dynamic characteristics of the operator model change due to external stimuli, i.e., mental stress. The aim of this study was to present identification of a mathematical human model and measurement methodology of the mental stress level. To determine the level of human response to external stimuli, the electrocardiography (ECG) and electromyography (EMG) methods were applied. The results showed difference in model parameters that cannot be neglected during the modeling of the human operator. The present study points to the need of developing simplified human models, taking into account external stimuli that have direct impact on his/her effectiveness. Some interdisplinary investigation provide may benefits combining part of the automation and ergonomics research areas.

    W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie analizy warstwowego systemu zabezpieczeń z uwzględnieniem błędu człowieka-operatora. W analizie bezpieczeństwa funkcjonalnego systemów sterowania i zabezpieczeń istotną kwestią jest dokonanie redukcji ryzyka poprzez warstwy zabezpieczeniowo ochronne. W referacie przeanalizowano system składający się z trzech warstw: podstawowego systemu sterowania BPCS, systemu alarmowego AS oraz systemu automatyki zabezpieczeniowej SIS. W warstwowym systemie zabezpieczeniowym ważną funkcję spełnia system alarmowy, poprzez który człowiek-operator ma istotny wpływ na realizację funkcji bezpieczeństwa. Funkcje te są realizowane poprzez odpowiednie moduły w ramach systemu BPCS, lub SCADA.
    The paper presents the problem of layer of protection analysis with safety systems, taking into account human error probability. In the functional safety analysis control and protection systems, the important issue is to reduce risk by independent protection layer. The paper assessment system consisting of three independent protection layers: BPCS control system, alarm system AS and a safety instrumented system SIS. In the systems with protection layers an important function via the alarm system have human-operator who has a significant impact on the implementation of safety functions. The complete alarm systems consist of hardware and software for generating appropriate information, signaling and decision support in different situations dynamic process, especially in abnormal and emergency situations. These functions are carried out by the appropriate modules within the system BPCS, or SCADA. These paper presents the problem of determining the probability of human error probability HEP using the simplified plant analysis risk human reliability assessment method SPAR-H. The probability of human error is the issue related to the stage of verification of certain levels SIL.

    In the paper results of experimental investigations of the system operator-handle-base have been presented. The aim of investigations was to record and analyse dynamical reactions of human operator volunteers participating in the experiments on a visual, suddenly appearing step signal. The main task of each operator was tracking of the signal as precisely as possible with a push force exerted on the tool handle. The measurements were done on an especially designed stand. The stand allows to simulate vibration of the tool with chosen frequencies with or without handle isolation. Time histories of step reference and forces realized by the operator were statistically elaborated and graphically presented.
    Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań eksperymentalnych układu człowiek operator-narzędzie ręczne. Celem badań była rejestracja i analiza reakcji dynamicznych wolontariuszy biorących udział w eksperymencie na nagły skok sygnału odbieranego zmysłem wzroku. Głównym zadaniem każdego operatora było możliwe dokładne nadążanie za tym sygnałem przez nacisk na rękojeść narzędzia. Pomiary były wykonywane na specjalnie skonstruowanym stanowisku umożliwiającym symulację wibracji narzędzia z wybranymi częstotliwościami, z wibroizolacją rękojeści lub bez wibroizolacji. Przebiegi czasowe sił referencyjnej i zrealizowanej przez operatora zostały poddane analizie statystycznej i zaprezentowane graficznie.

    Opis:
    This paper examines the factors affecting the performance of VTS operators. A general review of the human factor as a determinant of navigational safety is presented. The elementary nature of the system and its structure are defined, and the ability of a VTS operator to perform planned tasks within a specified timeframe and in a specific manner is analyzed. A reliability assessment scheme is proposed, which is based on the interpretation of factors affecting the VTS operator’s efficiency. The effective performance of VTS operators, along with the specific nature of the maritime environment and reliability of the vessel traffic management support, are key determinants in the process of ensuring the reliability and security of the entire system.

    It is well-known that operator error – “human factor” – is the cause of most accidents. This is a great concern to navigators. Recent crashes of ferries with large numbers of human victims have occurred because of navigator errors or because of their inability to make adequate decisions in an unexpectedly arisen emergency. This paper presents a possible method for quantitative estimation of the “human factor” based on analysis of the physical and mental conditions of the operator and the working environment.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie transformacji cyfrowej przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego, prowadzonej według modelu referencyjnego architektury przemysłu czwartej generacji RAMI 4.0, w zakresie akwizycji danych produkcyjnych, z zastosowaniem panelu operatorskiego HMI. Zagadnienia te zostaną omówione na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa produkcji farb i lakierów sektora MŚP, w którym autor artykułu podczas stażu wdrożył rozwiązanie akwizycji danych produkcyjnych, dotychczas dostarczanych w technologii papierowej. Cyfrowa transformacja danych w przedsiębiorstwie MŚP 4.0 została zamodelowana według aktualnych trendów Przemysłu 4.0. Model wdrożeniowy opracowano według modelu referencyjnego RAMI 4.0. W artykule zostaną przedstawione inicjatywy i skutki transformacji cyfrowej według modelu referencyjnego RAMI 4.0. Akwizycję danych i raportowanie do systemu ERP bezpośrednio z linii produkcyjnej umożliwił panel operatorski HMI. Analiza powdrożeniowa z dwuletniej eksploatacji przebudowanych procesów akwizycji danych pozwoliła określić obszary biznesowe korzystające z niej i wyższej jakości raportowania produkcji. Wskazano efekty ożywienia rytmów funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa na skutek dostępu do danych produkcyjnych wszystkich podmiotów czerpiących z jednego źródła danych SSOT w ramach systemu ERP.
    The implementation of the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) operator panel on the production line is a new stage of the digital transformation of a paints and varnishes manufacturer in the SMEs sector. As part of an innovation plan, the process of production data acquisition was restructured, by means of IT (Information Technology), into an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. The introduction of an HMI panel made it possible to digitalize data acquisition and operation reporting to the ERP system. The digital transformation of the SME 4.0 company was modelled on the Industry 4.0 trend solutions. The specialized model, developed according to RAMI 4.0 (Reference Architecture Model Industry 4.0), effected change of a partial and local nature in the enterprise. The data is now entered directly into the production area by the employees on the technological line, once they have logged in to the ERP system. Access to digital production data obtained from a SSOT (single source of truth) benefited all those who used the ERP system. A postimplementation analysis of a two-year application of the restructured data acquisition process indicates the business areas which profit from digital operational data acquisition and higher quality production reporting.

    The paper describes a prototype operator panel, which was designed to operate with the S7-200 family of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC-s) from Siemens. Most of the functionality of the operator panel was implemented in a computer program, which runs on a PC-class computer. The program communicates with a PLC through its communication port configured in the Freeport mode. Two kinds of interface between the PC, and the PLC are supported: wired, and wireless. For wired connection a standard PC/PPI cable supplied by Siemens is used. For wireless connection two communication modules were designed, which operate in the free 433 MHz band. The operator panel program is intuitive, and easy to use. States of PLC inputs and outputs are presented using graphical objects. It is possible to modify states of the outputs, and monitor and edit any variable in the M and V memory in the PLC. The application supports also alarming. The program can be run on any computer with the MS Windows operating system installed. This makes the solution very cost-effective. Providing both wired and wireless communication radically increases flexibility of the proposed solution. The panel can be quickly mounted in areas, where pulling new cables is inconvenient, difficult or expensive.

    Humans are most sensitive to whole body vibration (WBV) within the frequency range of 1 to 20 Hz. Whole-body vibration can cause fatigue, stomach problems, headache. After daily exposure over a number of years, whole-body vibration can affect the entire body and result in a number of health disorders. Workers driving tractors or other vehicles are especially at risk of being exposed to WBV. On the basis of the guidance provided in ISO 2631-1 to relate vibration exposure with the risks of health effects are established based on absorbed power. The 4-DOF dynamic model developed by Wan and Schimmels is recommended for the study of biodynamic responses of seated human subjects under vertical whole body vibration. This model of the human body is used to estimate the absorbed power distributed in head, upper torso, lower torso and thighs. The vibration energy (power) absorption of seated human that is exposed to vertical whole-body vibration are investigated under work of the aggregate tractor-round baler.
    Ludzie są najbardziej wrażliwi na drgania o działaniu ogólnym w zakresie częstotliwości od 1 do 20 Hz. Drgania o działaniu ogólnym mogą powodować zmęczenie, problemy żołądkowe, ból głowy. Po codziennej, wieloletniej, ekspozycji na drgania o oddziaływaniu ogólnym może zostać powstać szereg zaburzeń zdrowotnych. Pracownicy prowadzący ciągniki lub inne pojazdy są szczególnie narażeni na kontakt z drganiami o oddziaływaniu ogólnym. Na podstawie wytycznych zawartych w normie ISO 2631-1 istnieje powiązanie narażenia na wibracje z ryzykiem skutków zdrowotnych na podstawie pochłoniętej mocy drgań. Model biodynamiczny o czterech stopniach swobody 4-DOF opracowany przez Wana i Schimmelsa jest zalecany do badania reakcji siedzącego kierowcy na pionowe drgania o oddziaływaniu ogólnym. Model ten pozwala wyznaczyć pochłoniętą moc drgań w poszczególnych elementach ciała człowieka: głowa, górną część tułowia, dolną część tułowia oraz uda. Model ten zastosowano do badania absorpcji mocy drgań przez operatora agregatu ciągnik-prasa zwijająca

    Human reliability quantification (HRQ) methods are becoming increasingly important in risk and accident assessment in systems these terms are usually related to (hi-tech industrial systems, including nuclear and chemical plants). These methods began to intensively develop after numerous accidents caused by human error or inadequate activity of people who controlled and managed complex technological processes. For already existing systems, but also for new ones, it is important to assess the possibility of an accident. Determination of possible preventive activities, which include the influence of human error on the safety of a system, is also required. These are the main goals of the HRQ method. Using Absolute Probability Judgment (APJ) and Success Likelihood Index Methods (SLIM) HRQ techniques in control and management centers in electro-power systems in Belgrade and railway traffic in Nis (both in Serbia and Montenegro) are shown in this paper.

    Employer Branding to stosunkowo nowa koncepcja, która ewoluuje zgodnie z potrzebami przedsiębiorstw w odniesieniu do zmieniających się wyzwań rynkowych. W artykule przedstawiono zmianę w postrzeganiu znaczenia marki pracodawcy: od procesu rekrutacji po konieczność pozyskiwania talentów przez firmy działające w ramach dynamicznych łańcuchów dostaw. Zaprezentowano model atrakcyjności pracodawcy oraz wykorzystywane narzędzia w komunikacji z obecnymi, a przede wszystkim potencjalnymi pracownikami. Zastosowanie koncepcji Employer Branding ukazano na przykładzie wybranych liderów branży usług logistycznych. Analizie poddano zarówno wykorzystywane przez nich narzędzia oraz sposób komunikacji, jak i formułowane komunikaty do obecnych i przyszłych kadr.
    Employer Branding is a relatively new concept, which evolves according to the needs of companies and with respect to changing market challenges. The article presents the change in the perception of the importance of employer brand: from recruitment to the need to attract talent by companies operating within the dynamic supply chains Consequently, the model of attractivess of employer have been presented, as well as tools which are used to communicate with employees. The application of the Employer Branding concept is demonstrated at the example of selected logistics service companies.

    Opis:
    The objective of the study was the preliminary recognition of whole body mechanical vibration risk among farmers in the rural work environment. The study covered 15 farms using cultivated land of the size of over 10 ha, carrying out mixed production (plant-animal), equipped with agricultural tractors, and a basic set of tractor-mounted agricultural machinery, with a partial contribution of self-propelled agricultural machines. The scope of the study covered the measurements of effective vibration RMS acceleration (equivalent, maximum, minimum, peak) frequency corrected on the seats of agricultural vehicles in the three spatial directions of vibration (X, Y, Z). These measurements were realized while performing various fi eld and transport work activities during the period of the whole year. A analysis of the peak, maximum and minimum vibration accelerations confi rms that in the agricultural occupational environment there occurs a considerable variation of the vibration values registered. This is also evidenced by high values of the Crest Factor, sometimes exceeding a score of 10. Analysis of the registered equivalent values of vibration acceleration (frequency corrected) from the hygienic aspect showed that vibration occurring on the seats may create risk for farmers’ health while performing such work activities as: tedding and raking of hay, fertilizers spreading, soil aggregation, grass mowing and cultivation. Analysis of the spatial distribution of the measured, frequency corrected vibration accelerations indicates that considerably the highest acceleration values occur in the vertical plane (direction – Z). Literature data clearly confi rm an unfavourable effect of whole body vibration present in agricultural vehicles on discomfort and the occurrence of back pain in the operators, especially in the low back region (lumbar spine), as well as degenerative changes in the spine.

    Opis:
    In this qualitative study, data were gathered from tour operator managers, supervisors and administrative staff in Thailand to survey the impact of COVID-19, and adaptation after the crisis for tour operators in Thailand was also collected using in-depth interviews. The study also used a 7Ps Marketing Mix analysis, Crisis Management, and adaptation for tour operator businesses to survive after the COVID-19 crisis. According to the study, 7Ps Marketing Mix is recommended to offer more tailor-made tour programs to attract a new generation of tourists and new services to satisfy a variety of customer needs because manager's perceptions of changing tourist behavior are directly to use of information systems and technology to pull in a new generation of tourists. Tour operating companies must adopt policies and action plans for a successful post-COVID-19 recovery and the company's ability to continue surviving than competing with other companies.
    W tym badaniu jakościowym zebrano dane od menedżerów, nadzorców i pracowników administracyjnych touroperatorów w Tajlandii, aby zbadać wpływ COVID19, a adaptacja po kryzysie dla touroperatorów w Tajlandii została również zebrana za pomocą wywiadów pogłębionych. Badanie wykorzystało również analizę 7Ps Marketing Mix, zarządzanie kryzysem i adaptację dla firm turystycznych, aby przetrwać po kryzysie COVID-19. Według badania, 7Ps Marketing Mix jest zalecany, aby oferować bardziej dopasowane programy wycieczek, aby przyciągnąć nową generację turystów i nowe usługi, aby zaspokoić różnorodne potrzeby klientów, ponieważ postrzeganie przez menedżerów zmieniających się zachowań turystów jest bezpośrednio związane z wykorzystaniem systemów informacyjnych i technologii, aby przyciągnąć nową generację turystów. Firmy turystyczne muszą przyjąć politykę i plany działania dla udanej naprawy po COVID-19 i zdolności firmy do dalszego przetrwania niż konkurowania z innymi firmami.

    Artykuł analizuje przedstawienia ludzko-nie-ludzkich związków miłosnych ukazanych w dwóch amerykańskich filmach science fiction z nurtu kina Trzeciej Kultury, Creative Control (2015) Benjamina Dickinsona i Konsultantce (2016) Logan Kibens, w kontekście wybranych teorii posthumanizmu krytycznego, proponowanych przez Rosi Braidotti, Katherine Hayles, Anne Balsamo i Kim Toffoletti, dotyczących płciowości w postludzkiej rzeczywistości. Proponuje się tu ujęcie seksualności jako złożonej siły mającej moc przekraczania binarnych opozycji ludzkiej gender (Braidotti) oraz cielesności jako zawsze naznaczonej płcią (Hayles, Balsamo). Wskazuje się też na moc posthumanistycznych obrazów w kontekście celebracji złożoności postludzkiego doświadczenia (Toffoletti). Analizy filmowych intymnych relacji, zawiązywanych między mężczyznami a kobietami przez nich zbudowanymi, zostają też umieszczone w kontekście “paradygmatu kobiety idealnej” (Julie Wosk), obecnego w licznych tekstach kultury, w którym sztuczne istoty budowano w celach określonych przez mężczyzn, dla zaspokojenia ich potrzeb. W szkicu poszukuje się odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy miłość człowieka i maszyny, ukazana w nowym kinie science fiction, jest wyrazem “posthumanistycznego momentu” w tekście kultury, jak definiują go Stefan Herbrechter i Ivan Callus, a którego celem jest naruszenie spójności i integralności ludzkiego doświadczenia, a także podważenie istnienia “esencji” człowieczeństwa.
    The article analyzes human-non-human love relationships shown in two American science fiction films representing the Third Culture cinema: Benjamin Dickinson’s Creative Control (2015) and Logan Kibens’s Operator (2016) in the context of critical theory of posthumanism by Rosi Braidotti, Katherine Hayles, Anne Balsamo and Kim Toffoletti with regard to the sexuality in a posthuman reality. Sexuality is understood here as a complex force with the power to transcend binary oppositions of human sex (Braidotti) and corporality as always marked by gender (Hayles, Balsamo). The power of posthuman images is also pointed out in the context of the celebration of the complexity of posthuman experience (Toffoletti). The analyses of intimate relationships between men and women depicted in the films are also placed in the context of the “ideal woman paradigm” (Julie Wosk), present in numerous cultural texts in which artificial creatures were built for the purposes set by men to meet their needs. The essay seeks to answer the question of whether love of man and machine, as shown in the new science fiction cinema, is an expression of the “posthuman moment” in the text of culture, as defined by Stefan Herbrechter and Ivan Callus, whose purpose is to violate the coherence and integrity of human experience and to undermine the existence of the “essence” of humanness.
