Opis:
The Dominican order was established by St. Dominic in 1216 for the defence of faith through teaching. It played an enormous role not only directly in the life of the Universal Church herself, but also in the general spiritual and intellectual development. The basic purpose of apostleship is the glory of God and the salvation of people. It is interesting to look at the history of the Dominica charisma in Poland, especially St. Dominic's spiritual daughter, the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka. This paper therefore deals with the history of Dominican sisters in Poland, shows Kolumba Białecka against this backdrop, and depicts her order-making mission. Then it focuses on the significance of her religious name „Kolumba,” and on Białecka's family home. Mother Kolumba Białecka endowed the Church with a kind of religious life that is fulfilled in the service to our neighbours through our perfection. This is our home initiative that stems from Polish spirituality and Polish needs, and at the same time it refers to the purest models of Dominican spirituality. The religious congregation founded by the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka has been effective not only in Poland, but it has been developing in various countries on four continents.

The Dominican order was established by St. Dominic in 1216 for the defence of faith through teaching. The principal end of its apostleship is to preach the glory of God and salvation of people. It is interesting to look at the history of the Dominican charisma in Poland, especially in the life of St. Dominic's spiritual daughter, the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka. This paper discusses therefore the history of Dominican sisters in Poland and presents Kolumba Białecka and her order-making mission against this backdrop. Then it shows the meaning of her religious name "Kolumba”, and Białecka's family home. Mother Kolumba Białecka endowed the Church with this type of religiousness tha is fulfilled in the service for neighbours through one's own striving after perfection. It is a family initiative that stems from Polish spirituality and needs. At the same time it refers to the purest patterns of Dominican spirituality. The religious order established by the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka is effective today not only in Poland, but it is developed in various countries on four continents.

Opis:
The article presents the founding idea of pastoral care of families as a sub-field of practical theology as well as its significance for the saving work of the Church. The issue is presented in several stages. The starting point is a reflection on the notion and unique nature of pastoral care of families, then it is presented as a scientific discipline but also an important element of the saving activity of the Church focused on the family. Also, the main areas of concern are outlined. The highlight of the article is point 5 attempting to show the idea of having a textbook for family pastoral work, an aid that has never been conceived in Poland. In fact the presentation is not a mere outline but quite a concrete and detailed plan.

Opis:
The very family is a home church, but it should belong to a larger group in case it needs multi-dimensional aid. The present article presents the founding ideas, unique character and the current condition of family associations in Poland. Such groups are initiated by the families themselves or members of the hierarchy. Yet, they are always a gift of the Holy Spirit, who thus grants them support and the charisma of renewal. Family experts stress that under the influence of family associations positive changes on many planes are taking place, both in the family and in its relationship with the world. It is hard to estimate the number of family associations in Poland as some of them are of informal character, while others are not focused on the family but they have many family elements in their formation programme. Roughly speaking, there are about 130 associations of families or pro-family groups in Poland. The establishment and care of family associations is a significant task of family pastoral care in Poland.

Opis:
The author tackles two important problems in the area of women's labor market. One concerns women's motivation with respect to work – do they want to be professionally active or passive, and what motivations their choices are based on. The other one is what they think about equal rights in the home and at work; in other words, what is their opinion about discrimination. 160 women were studied with the help of a review. It turned out that irrespective of the economic situation their households were in, attitudes prevail that favor having jobs. In this way the hypothesis was confirmed that most women go out to work as this is an important sphere of their lives, often as important as family and home duties. Most subjects are convinced that in Poland discrimination of women occurs, but this happens more often at work than in the home.

Opieka nad dzieckiem wychowywanym poza rodziną organizowana jest w formach instytucjonalnych (placówki opiekuńczo‑wychowawcze typu socjalizacyjnego, interwencyjnego i wielofunkcyjne) oraz w formach rodzinnych (rodziny zastępcze, placówki opiekuńczo‑wychowawcze typu rodzinnego i rodziny adopcyjne). We współczesnym systemie opieki nad dzieckiem osieroconym podkreśla się prymat rodzinnych form wsparcia oraz pracy socjalnej z rodzicami dziecka, w celu umożliwienia mu jak najszybszego powrotu do domu. Rodzinna opieka zastępcza daje szansę dzieciom osieroconym na rekompensatę negatywnych skutków sieroctwa, gdyż zapewnia lepsze, niż w formach instytucjonalnych, warunki dla rozwoju psychofizycznego dziecka.
Child care deprived of the family is being organized in institutional forms (institutions of care and education of socialization type, emergency and multifunctional) and in family forms (foster families, institutions of care and education of family type, adoptive families). In the contemporary care system of the orphaned child the primacy of family forms of the support and the social work with parents is being underlined, to enable him the fastest return home. A concern for integral bringing up a child and compensating for experienced earlier traumatic effects are the basic task of a foster family. Family children’s homes and Children’s Villages perform the major part, because they provide care for they siblings. Adoptive families compensate for adverse effects, for they accepted the child forever. The family foster care gives the chance to orphaned children for the compensation of adverse effects of the orphanage, as it assures better than, in institutional forms, conditions for the development of the psychophysical child. The child can carry its essential needs out not only physiological, but also the need of safety, membership and love.

Opis:
The author reflects on two important issues related to the economy of women’s labour market. The first one is associated with women’s motivation with respect to their employment – whether they wish to be vocationally active or passive – and what the reasons for their choices are. The other issue concerns women’s attitudes to equal rights at home and at work or, in other words, their attitude to discrimination. 160 women were surveyed. It turned out that regardless of the economic standing of their household, they exhibit pro-employment attitudes. The results confirmed the hypothesis that the majority of women work because the occupational sphere is often as important as family and home duties. Most of the surveyed women are convinced that discrimination of women does exist in Poland, more frequently at work than at home.

Opis:
The chapter aims at discovering and discussing the process of paideia in a Christian family, concentrating on the process of upbringing children and teenagers as suggested by the prominent archbishop of Constantinople John Chrysostom († 407). He himself did not create a consistent model of the upbringing system but devoted a great deal of interest to the area, applying the achievements of antique culture at the same time. Chrysostom understood paideia in a Christian family as one of the stages in the process of discovering the depth and beauty of faith and as a part of the process of making a human resemble the image of God as revealed in Jesus Christ. And it is the father of the family who is first of all responsible for that process, mainly concerning the intellectual, moral and religious spheres of the children. A family unit in this context is understood as a ‘home church’, where, thanks to the bonds of love, common responsibility and the way of life based on Gospel and fear of God, sanctification if its members takes place.

Opis:
The article presents the world of attitudes and values of Janusz Stanisław Pasierb (1929-1993), future philosopher, art historian and poet, who during childhood and adolescence emerged within the space of his family home. This young man in this period acquired a peculiar, internal order, with help of his relatives and closest friends he „worked out” a set of ideas that became both a tool used to „control” the desintegration of the war in 1939-1945, and something that defined his identity. Final turning point of this very important stage in the life the author of Czas otwarty was the year 1947, when he joined the Seminary in Pelplin. Stay in the seminar caused problematic aspects of subjectivity, previously mentioned by the young artist, to obtain a remarkable dynamism that abstracts from the elements of „externality”, characteristic for the occupation period, as well as the great depth of meanings.

The verses of this didactic psalm present priests’ advice given to the pilgrims arriving to the temple. This is a pilgrims’ psalm characterized by specific metre. The whole PS 128 is divided into two parts, therefore we analyze only its three verses; 1-3. They present a positive, blissful vision of family life. This composition stimulates families to live according to God’s low, in awe of the Lord which leads to happiness and longevity. It portrays the outcomes of human’s work as those which give him fulfillment and wellness. It presents offspring as a God’s gift to human being and a family as a community who experiences wellness, serenity and fertility. These are the aspects of human’s life in perspective of retribution to God, His justice and benevolence. We may also notice in these three verses the multitude of ancient Israel symbolism.

W odniesieniu do całego tomiku T. Ferenc, Z. Jankowskiego, A. Janko i M. Wieczorek Cztery twarze domu. Antologia rodzinna można użyć, mając na uwadze, że „żadna synteza nie może być tylko sumą” (Mieczysław Jastrun), określenia autobiografizm rodzinny. Zarysowuje się w tych wierszach jakaś wspólna historia. Starałam się opisać zarówno różnice jak i powiązania pomiędzy obrazami domu w twórczości osób należących do tej samej przestrzeni rodzinnej. Łączy się ona również ze światem wartości i pamięci. U Zbigniewa Jankowskiego wyróżnia się kwestia ideałów, u Teresy Ferenc zaznaczona jest szczególnie pamięć. U Janko tło historyczne jest nie aż tak konkretne. U Wieczorek obecna jest również, choć w zupełnie inny sposób, w kontekście sztuki, perspektywa historyczna.
With reference to the whole volume by T. Ferenc, Z. Jankowski, A. Janko, M. Wieczorek entitled Cztery twarze domu. Antologia rodzinna (‘Four faces of home. Family anthology’), having in mind the words of Mieczysław Jastrun that “no synthesis can be only a sum”, it is possible to use the expression family autobiographism. In these poems a kind of common history can be observed. What tried to describe are both the differences and the coherences between the images of home in the works of people belonging to the same family space. The space is also related to the world of values and memory. Zbigniew Jankowski makes the issue of ideals stand out, Teresa Ferenc particularly highlights the issue of memory. Janko does not make historical background very specific. In her work Wieczorek presents, though in a completely different manner – in the context of art – historical perspective.

The situation in which there are problems with the proper fulfillment of both care-related and parental duties towards the children within a family can be in some cases referred to as social orphanhood, which is a major problem that affects children. One of the forms of compensating for social orphanhood is placing a child in a foster care, whose specific type is a family-based foster care. By providing individual care and protection to the children who cannot be brought up in their natural families and through proper family functioning family foster homes are intended to assure child’s proper physical, mental and social development, as well as to increase his or her chances of having a happy and carefree childhood.

Odnowa liturgii przez Sobór Watykański II dotyczyła przede wszystkim jej istoty. Określenie liturgii jako spełniania kapłaństwa Chrystusa w celu uświęcenia ludu Bożego i składania kultu Ojcu niosło daleko idące konsekwencje dla życia wierzących. Wyakcentowanie przez Sobór uświecającego celu liturgii, jak i powiązanie jej z kapłaństwem powszechnym ukazało wiernych świeckich jako aktywnych uczestników liturgii, a przemianę ich życia jako jej cel. Obok liturgii sakramentalnej dotyczy to także sakramentaliów, a w nich błogosławieństw sprawowanych w rodzinie – Kościele domowym. Odnowiona struktura Księgi błogosławieństw ukazuje je jako czynność liturgiczną Kościoła, w której odbija się nie tylko życie całej wspólnoty eklezjalnej, ale także wspólnoty rodzinnej. Tematyka błogosławieństw często łączy się z życiem małżeńskim i rodzinnym. Dotyczy to przeżywanych w rodzinie wydarzeń, czasu roku liturgicznego, ale także miejsc życia rodziny. Ważnym zagadnieniem jest także problem szafarzy błogosławieństw sprawowanych w rodzinie, wśród których jest także miejsce dla szafarzy świeckich. Praktyka błogosławieństw w rodzinie nie odbiera znaczenia liturgii sprawowanej we wspólnocie parafialnej czy diecezjalnej. Przyczynia się ona do szerokiego postrzegania liturgii Kościoła, a także do większej jeszcze świadomości kapłaństwa wypływającego z chrztu świętego.
The renewal of liturgy started by the Second Vatican Council was first of all concerned with its essence. The definition of liturgy as practicing Christ’s priesthood in order to sanctify God’s people and practicing the cult of the Father bore far-reaching consequences for the life of believers. Emphasizing the sanctifying aim of liturgy by the Council, as well as connecting it with universal priesthood, showed the lay faithful as active participants in liturgy and a transformation of their lives as its aim. Besides the sacramental liturgy this also concerns sacramentals, and among them—the blessings chanted in the family—the home Church. The renewed structure of Book of Blessings shows them as the Church’s liturgical activity, in which not only is the life of the whole ecclesial community reflected, but also of the family community. The subject-matter of blessings is often connected with marital and family life. This concerns events that occur in the family, the time of the liturgical year, but also the places in the family life. Also, the problem of the dispensers of blessings chanted in the family is an important one; among the dispensers there is also room for lay ones. The practice of blessings in the family does not deprive the liturgy practiced in the parish or diocesan  community its significance. It contributes to a broad perception of the liturgy of the Church, and also to a still greater consciousness of priesthood issuing from the Holy Baptism.
