In this work, cast steel G17CrMoV5-10 was investigated. The material subject to investigation as part of this study is commonly used to manufacture steam turbine casings. Modern steam turbines operate under elevated temperature and complex oscillated loads. Thus, the focus of this study was to investigate material under behavior during low cycle fatigue (LCF) test performance at 500°C with and without hold time in tension. During all types of test, cyclic softening of cast steel was noticed. Increasing of total strain rate and applying hold time significantly reduce fatigue life. During hold time, due to temperature and tension the material creep what is confirmed by increasing inelastic stain accommodation.

This paper presents an analysis of fire hazard during repair work of refrigerated hold with a view of specificity of its equipment and construction, as well as the algorithm of the system of analysis and evaluation of safety measures and their effectiveness. The assessment of effectiveness was based on the applied fire safety measures. Selected actions and technical measures for fire safety must make it possible to prevent fire ignition in hardly accessible spaces behind the boarding of hold walls and in air cooling chambers as unnoticed fire may very fast propagate to the next holds and ship compartments due to flue drafts.

This paper proposes a discretization technique for a descriptor differential system. The methodology used is both triangular first order hold discretization and zero order hold for the input function. Upper bounds for the error between the continuous and the discrete time solution are produced for both discretization methods and are shown to be better than any other existing method in the literature.

In this paper, a new 11T SRAM cell using FinFET technology has been proposed, the basic component of the cell is the 6T SRAM cell with 4 NMOS access transistors to improve the stability and also makes it a dual port memory cell. The proposed cell uses a header scheme in which one extra PMOS transistor is used which is biased at different voltages to improve the read and write stability thus, helps in reducing the leakage power and active power. The cell shows improvement in RSNM (Read Static Noise Margin) with LP8T by 2.39x at sub-threshold voltage 2.68x with D6T SRAM cell, 5.5x with TG8T. The WSNM (Write Static Noise Margin) and HM (Hold Margin) of the SRAM cell at 0.9V is 306mV and 384mV. At sub-threshold operation also it shows improvement. The Leakage power reduced by 0.125x with LP8T, 0.022x with D6T SRAM cell, TG8T and SE8T. Also, impact of process variation on cell stability is discussed.

Present study deals with hold-fast organs and pathological changes induced by certain Piscean and avian Cestode parasites collected from Maharashtra State India. Hold-fast organs of tapeworms are important for attachment and adhesion. These organs of attachment are in the form of muscular suckers, rostellum, spines, hooks, tentacles etc. The work on hold-fast organs of Piscean and avian cestode parasites is essential for research in taxonomy and histopathology. Hence, the present study was undertaken on the role and status of diversity of holdfast organs with special reference to histopathology of Piscean and avian cestodes collected from Maharashtra State, India. Cestode parasites were collected and studied from certain fishes and birds from different localities of Maharashtra.

The use of a liquid level sensor made it possible to measure changes in gas hold-up over time in a stirred tank during unsteady mixing. These results were subjected to Fourier time series analysis and a model of gas hold-up changes in time was proposed. It allowed one to determine the model value of gas hold-up, which can be useful for characterizing gas hold-up during unsteady mixing and as a comparison to gas hold-up during steady mixing. The characteristic frequency was also determined, which corresponds to about twice the oscillation frequency. Model gas hold-up values for coalescing and non-coalescing systems were compared. Moreover, the change of the gas hold-up at constant maximum stirrer rotation frequency and variable gas flow rate for different oscillation frequencies was investigated.

The air-to-pulp ratio and bias factor are important operating parameters in the Jameson flotation cell. These parameters have significant effect on micro-events taking place between particles and bubbles in flotation, and hence on flotation performance. In this study, the possibilities of obtaining a Cu-Zn rich bulk concentrate from complex sulphide ore from the Cayeli region (Turkey) were investigated using the lab-scale Jameson cell. The effect of air-to-pulp ratio and bias factor on flotation recovery were also studied. The ore has problematic flotation behaviour due to very fine liberation size and oxidation. The results showed that the Cu-Zn rich bulk concentrate can be obtained from the ore with satisfactory grade and recovery. It was determined that the air-to-pulp ratio and bias factor have significant effect on the flotation recovery. The optimum values of air-to-pulp ratio and bias factor in flotation of rather fine sized minerals were determined to be within the range of 1-1.5 and 0.70-0.95, respectively.

The pre- and post-hold-up problem occurs when partners behave in opportunistic way, contracts are incomplete and there are requirements to invest in assets (both specific and general ones). The most exposed to this issue are farmers having weaker market position than their partners or when there is a significantly lower level of horizontal integration among them. The primary purpose of the paper is twofold. The first goal is to identify farming contracts related to investments in assets (the post-contractual hold-up problem), while the second one is to recognise these agricultural producers’ groups in Poland, which were exposed to the pre-contractual hold-up problem. To complete these research goals the case study method, based on empirical data, was applied. The analysis of data was carried out through descriptive statistics and the chi-square test. One can claim that the post-contractual hold-up problem may have occurred in ca. 42% of total contracts. The research proves also that approximately 31% of agricultural producer’ groups have never been exposed to the pre-contractual hold-up problem.

Opis:
The overall gas hold-up of a pilot plant scale internal loop airlift reactor was studied in presence of different alcohols in varied concentration. It has been observed that these simple alcohols can enhance overall gas hold-up of the airlift assembly possibly due to formation of protective thin layer over smaller gas bubbles thereby reducing chance of their coalescence. As the alcohols can be used as food source for the micro organisms present in the system, this green and environment friendly process have potential to replace usage of hazardous surfactants often used for enhancing overall hold-up in order to obtain desired mass transfer characteristics. An empirical relationship encompassing overall gas hold-up of the reactor as a function of superficial gas velocity and alcohol concentration is also developed.

The paper takes a common view of those works by Jan Kochanowski which reflect the relationship between the author and the act of the Polish-Lithuanian Union established on 1 July 1569 in Lublin. The only text that is the poet’s direct reaction to the event in question is Proporzec or Hołd pruski, which does not mean that there are no other works of this type by Kochanowski. The examples are the poem Zgoda / Concordia, Fragment XXI (Battle with Amurat at Varna), the Latin Ode IV (Ad Concordiam) or Fraszka II 107 (Na most warszewski / On the Bridge of Warsaw).

Opis:
In experiments with short-pulse lasers the measurement control of the energy of the laser pulse is of crucial importance. Generally it is difficult to measure the amplitude of the pulses of short-pulse lasers using electronic devices, their response time being longer than the duration of the laser pulses. The electric response of the detector is still too fast to be directly digitized therefore a peak-hold unit can be used to allow data processing for the computer. In this paper we present a device which measures the energy of UV short (fs) pulses shot-byshot, digitizes and sends the data to the PC across an USB interface. The circuit is based on an analog peak detect and hold unit and the use of fiber optical coupling between the PC and the device provides a significant improvement to eliminate potential ground loops and to reduce conductive and radiated noise as well. At first glance, radio may seem to be an example of dated technology, overturned by other, more contemporary media. However, the beginning of the 21st century brought an upsurge of radio-related artworks alongside an increased theoretical interest around the broader topic of sound in culture – in response to W. J. T Mitchell’s ‘pictorial turn,’ the ‘sonic turn’ was introduced in 2004 by Jim Drobnick. In this article, I specifically focus on radio as a tool used in visual arts on the example of works by artistic/curatorial collective Radio Earth Hold, observed through the lens of ‘transmission arts’ – a term coined at the end of the 1990s, which recognizes the issue of transmission as political at its core. REH’s works render apparent the potential of the radio voice to become authoritarian as well as to create an intimate experience of listening. By building upon the idea of ‘sonic solidarity’ REH touches upon political topics in a way that can profoundly challenge our thinking and encourage us to reexamine not only the role of radio but also the transmission and communication in or via art – which perhaps could be understood as a way towards the possible sonic turn.

The aim of the paper is to show that Jan Kochanowski’s Proporzec albo Hołd Pruski, a work of literature considered for a long time to be poor in artistic terms, refers to the convention of a triumphant song of victory, namely the epinikion. It is a literary form with ancient roots. The poet of Czarnolas, in his original way, combined the convention of epinikion with verse-driven canvassing speech (on the border between genus deliberativum and genus demonstrativum), using a number of arguments in favour of implementing the resolutions of the Sejm (Parliament Assembly) of Lublin of 1569. The work consistently develops one thread – the struggle with the Teutonic Knights, which is connected with the selective presentation of the historical images of the Polish rulers’ military campaigns for Pomerania and Duchy of Prussia. The consistency of the presented historical descriptions with the ideological content, expressive “speech decorations” and faithfulness to the conventions of the sixteenth-century political poetry make the literary artistry of Proporzec… impressive and standing out with its artistry against the background of occasional Old Polish poems.
