Opis:: Genetic research allows not only for precise diagnosing of diseases, but also for selecting therapy and appropriate medicines, and for insight into future health condition. Genetic information obtained as a result of genetic research is related not only to patients, but to their relatives, too. In this context a threat arises of abuse, infringement of human rights and unauthorised access to genetic data. The audit of NIK was aimed, in the first place, to examine whether genetic research in Poland is conducted with due care for safety requirements, that is whether Polish legal regulations keep up with the development of modern technologies in medicine.

Opis:: Ochrona danych osobowych ma zastosowanie w dziedzinie realizacji prawa pacjenta do opieki religijnej. Materia ta jest regulowana symultanicznie przez prawo świeckie i kanoniczne. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie niektórych kanonicznych i prawnych kwestii dotyczących przetwarzania danych osobowych, pojawiających się w kontekście sprawowania opieki duszpasterskiej przez duchownych rzymskokatolickich (kapelanów szpitalnych). Te kwestie to: status podmiotów zaangażowanych w realizację prawa do opieki duszpasterskiej, zakres przetwarzanych danych osobowych w czasie realizacji tego prawa, przesłanki legalizacyjne przetwarzania.
The protection of personal data applies to the exercise of the patient’s right to religious care. This matter is regulated simultaneously by civil law and canon law. This article aims to present some canonical and legal issues concerning the processing of personal data arising in the context of pastoral care by Roman Catholic clergy (hospital chaplains), such as the status of entities involved in the realization of the right to pastoral care, the scope of personal data processed during the realization of this right, the legitimacy of processing.

Opis:: Safety is the basic need for every human as it determines the existence and proper development. Over the years, different levels of safety threats have been identified, as it was stated that the protection against external aggression is one of many challenges that must be faced in order to ensure the security of a country. It should be noted, however, that recent years have been a time characterized by a particular intensity of natural disasters in the form of adverse natural phenomena causing both natural catastrophes and technical failures. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, epidemics such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (SARS), Ebola or the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus causing the COVID-19 disease are gaining in importance and intensity. A quick response of medical personnel during a disaster is of key importance for the health care of mass casualties. Thus, a key aspect of the health care entities in situations of a threat to public safety is the ability to quickly expand the health care system operating under normal conditions of the functioning of the State.
