Opis:
In work the presented numerical models of tool steel hardening processes take into account thermal phenomena and phase transformations. Numerical algorithm of thermal phenomena was based on the Finite Elements Methods of the heat transfer equations. In the model of phase transformations, in simulations heating process continuous heating (CHT) was applied, whereas in cooling process continuous cooling (CCT) of the steel at issue. The phase fraction transformed (austenite) during heating and fractions during cooling of ferrite, pearlite or bainite are determined by Johnson-Mehl-Avrami formulas. The nescent fraction of martensite is determined by Koistinen and Marburger formula or modified Koistinen and Marburger formula. In the simulations of hardening was subject the fang lathe of cone (axisymmetrical object) made of tool steel.
Prezentowany w pracy model numeryczny procesu hartowania stali narzędziowej uwzględnia zjawiska cieplne i przemiany fazowe w stanie stałym. Algorytm numeryczny zjawisk cieplnych oparto na rozwiązaniu metodą elementów skończonych, w sformułowaniu Galernika, równania przewodzenia ciepła. W modelu przemian fazowych korzysta się z wykresów ciągłego nagrzewania (CTPa), oraz z wykresów ciągłego chłodzenia (CTPc) rozważanej stali. Ułamek fazy przemienionej (austenit) oraz ułamki ferrytu, perlitu lub bainitu wyznacza się formułami Johnsona-Mehla i Avramiego. Ułamek powstającego martenzytu wyznacza się wzorem Koistinena i Marburgera lub zmodyfikowanym wzorem Koistinena i Marburgera.

Opis:
Measurements of the hardening process course of the selected self-hardening moulding sands with the reclaimed material additions to the matrix, are presented in the hereby paper. Moulding sands were produced on the „Szczakowa” sand (of the Sibelco Company) as the matrix of the main fraction FG 0,40/0,32/0,20, while the reclaim was added to it in amounts of 20, 50 and 70%. Regeneration was performed with a horizontal mechanical regenerator capacity of 10 t/h. In addition, two moulding sands, one on the fresh sand matrix another on the reclaimed matrix, were prepared for comparison. Highly-fluid urea-furfuryl resin was used as a binder, while paratoluensulphonic acid as a hardener. During investigations the hardening process course was determined, it means the wave velocity change in time: cL = f(t). The hardening process kinetics was also assessed (dClx/dt = f(t)). Investigations were carried out on the research stand for ultrasound tests. In addition strength tests were performed.

In this paper a technique has been developed to determine constant parameters of copper as a power-law hardening material by tensile test approach. A work-hardening process is used to describe the increase of the stress level necessary to continue plastic deformation. A computer program is used to show the variation of the stress-strain relation for different values of stress hardening exponent, n and power-law hardening constant, α . Due to its close tolerances, excellent corrosion resistance and high material strength, in this analysis copper (Cu) has been selected as the material. As a power-law hardening material, Cu has been used to compute stress hardening exponent, n and power-law hardening constant, α from tensile test experiment without heat treatment and after heat treatment. A wealth of information about mechanical behavior of a material can be determined by conducting a simple tensile test in which a cylindrical specimen of a uniform cross-section is pulled until it ruptures or fractures into separate pieces. The original cross sectional area and gauge length are measured prior to conducting the test and the applied load and gauge deformation are continuously measured throughout the test. Based on the initial geometry of the sample, the engineering stress-strain behavior (stress-strain curve) can be easily generated from which numerous mechanical properties, such as the yield strength and elastic modulus, can be determined. A universal testing machine is utilized to apply the load in a continuously increasing (ramp) manner according to ASTM specifications. Finally, theoretical results are compared with these obtained from experiments where the nature of curves is found similar to each other. It is observed that there is a significant change of the value of n obtained with and without heat treatment it means the value of n should be determined for the heat treated condition of copper material for their applications in engineering fields.

The article attempts to determine the influence of selected types of the heat treatment on the strength properties of the AW-7020 alloy used in the shipbuilding industry. The text presents information on the applied types of heat treatment. There are presented the results of the static tensile test of the material after its earlier hyperquenching and aging (natural and artificial) as well as comparison to the test results of the alloy without heat treatment. To illustrate the nature of the supersaturation and aging process, a test was carried out for a series of samples in a transitional state. During the tests for all the samples were determined: elongation at rupture and reduction of area at fracture, strength limit Rm and proof stress Re0.2. The results of the tests showed that the choice of the type of aging after saturation has significant importance for the strength properties of the AW-7020 alloy. It has been shown that it is possible to significantly accelerate the achievement of higher strength properties of the tested alloy, replacing the natural aging of the material with artificial aging.

Opis:
The influence of cellulose ether on the consistency, water retention (WRV parameter) and setting and hardening process of cement mortar is discussed in this article. The composition of researched mortars differed in the type of dispensed polymer admixture because of its viscosity and quantity. The research confirmed that cellulose ether has strong influence on the properties of cement mortar in the plastic state. The proper selection of the admixture (its viscosity and quantity) may have a decisive influence on the properties of the final product, therefore a basic and comprehensive examination of the material is so important.

Replacing mathematical models with artificial intelligence tools can play an important role in numerical models. This paper analyses the modeling of the hardening process in terms of temperature, phase transformations in the solid state and stresses in the elastic-plastic range. Currently, the use of artificial intelligence tools is increasing, both to make greater generalizations and to reduce possible errors in the numerical simulation process. It is possible to replace the mathematical model of phase transformations in the solid state with an artificial neural network (ANN). Such a substitution requires an ANN network that converts time series (temperature curves) into shares of phase transformations with a small training error. With an insufficient training level of the network, significant differences in stress values will occur due to the existing couplings. Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks were chosen for the analysis. The paper compares the differences in stress levels with two coupled models using a macroscopic model based on CCT diagram analysis and using the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov (JMAK) and Koistinen-Marburger (KM) equations, against the model memorized by the LSTM network. In addition, two levels of network training accuracy were also compared. Considering the results obtained from the model based on LSTM networks, it can be concluded that it is possible to effectively replace the classical model in modeling the phenomena of the heat treatment process.

This paper presents the influence of viscosity modifying admixture on the shrinkage size of plastering mortars. The composition of cement and cement-lime mortars has been modified by the use of cellulose ethers polymer admixture of various viscosity. Shrinkage tests were performed using the Graf-Kaufman apparatus. Shrinkage deformation analysis was supplemented with chosen properties of pastes and mortars in the plastic and hardened state. The beneficial effect of cellulose ether admixture on the reduction of plastering mortars’ shrinkage strains was found.
W artykule przedstawiono wpływ domieszki modyfikującej lepkość (VMA) na wielkość odkształceń skurczowych zapraw tynkarskich. Skład zapraw cementowych i cementowo-wapiennych został zmodyfikowany poprzez zastosowanie polimerowej domieszki eteru celulozy o zróżnicowanej lepkości. Badania skurczu wykonano przy użyciu aparatu Graf-Kaufmana. Analizę odkształceń skurczowych uzupełniono o oznaczenie wybranych właściwości zaczynów i zapraw w stanie plastycznym i stwardniałym. Stwierdzono korzystny wpływ domieszki eteru celulozy na ograniczenie skurczu zapraw tynkarskich.

The paper presents choice results of experimental testing of burnishing process by methods BRP – burnishing rolling – pressuring. The burnishing process is a technology of surface plastic forming of machine parts. The plastic deformations are called out by arrangement of strengths causing the superficial crossing the value of tension pressure of the materials. They set the on cold causing except moving the unevenness also the cold work in top layer of workpiece. Studies were conducted for burnishing process of the external cylindrical surfaces. Burnishing carried out for stainless steels. Burnishing technology was proposed using burnished roller (BR-01) in order to give adequate operational characteristics of the shafts neck centrifugal pumps. An important issue to resolve in the article of the research was to obtain appropriate technological quality, and because of the economic aspect of the production and regeneration of machine parts, burnishing applied in exchange for abrasive processing. In experimental studies were obtained in the surface layer increase in hardness and the Abbott-Firestone curve a convex shaped, which given load capacity of the surface will be directly affected by its resistance to wear and corrosion. The burnishing rolling – pressuring process (BRP) were decreased in surface roughness of the top outer cylindrical layer of stainless steel, which can be applied to the centrifugal pump shafts ship.

In the article were presented influence of technological parameters of burnishing process on the degree of hardness and reduction roughness. Burnishing process carried out for stainless steels X2CrNiMo17-12-2. The experimental research were obtained in the surface layer increase in hardness and the material ratio curve a convex shaped, which, taking into account the load capacity of the surface will be directly affected by its resistance to wear and corrosion. The experimental research by application of the burnishing rolling – pressuring process (BRP) method were made in the Laboratory of Production Engineering at the Department of Marine Maintenance at the Faculty of Marine Engineering at the Gdynia Maritime University. After the studies it was found that the hardness of the surface layer and the roughness of the shaft necks an important influenced by technological parameters of processing (burnishing speed, feed and depth of burnishing). The objective of applying burnishing process may be, for example, the need to increase surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy of part. To achieve the objectives strengthen and smooth of burnishing stainless steel should be used the one pass burnisher roller and feed fn = 0.2 mm/rev and disk burnishing tool feed an = 1.0 mm and burnishing speed vn = 70 m/min.

Products used in the construction of machines and shipbuilding as well as petrochemical industry, such as shafts, bars, pipes and the like from two-phase stainless steel are currently very popular. The presented in the paper investigations were aimed at the determination of the reclaimed material (obtained in the dry mechanical reclamation process) addition influence on properties of moulding sands with hydrated sodium silicate modified by colloidal suspension of zinc oxide nanoparticles in propanol. Nanoparticles originated from the thermal decomposition of alkaline zinc carbonate, were used. The results of the reclamation of the spent moulding sand with hydrated sodium silicate performed in the AT-2 testing reclaimer are presented in the paper. Both, spent sands from the Floster S technology and from the technology with the modified water-glass were subjected to the reclamation processes. The following determinations of the reclaimed material were performed: pH reaction, acid demand, ignition loss and Na2O content. The obtained reclaim was used as a matrix component of moulding sands with water-glass in the Floster S technology, in which it constituted 60% and 50% of the sand matrix. The strength properties of the prepared moulding sands were determined (bending strength Rgu, tensile strength Rmu) after samples storing times: 1h, 2h, 4h and 24 hours.
