Opis:
This paper presents ERP class system objective assessment method when using the neural systems GMDH basing on the Ivachnienko algorithm. An approach to ERPs evaluation aimed at their successful implementation into a class of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is considered. The set of performance indices supporting an ERP evaluation in the context of its implementation into a given SME is proposed. Consequently the decision model binding the selected indicators of effectiveness of SME implementation with the parameters of a given ERP system and the parameters of the company as such, which introduced this system is discussed.

Opis:
The paper presents the use of a comparator RLC for measurements of elements of the national standard of capacitance unit which consists of four 10 pF capacitors of type 11A. The measurements of the national standard were made using transformer bridges: AH 2500A and GR 1621. To calculate the real values of each capacitor the group method was used. The relative combined standard uncertainty for the group method is equal to 0,5 žF/F. The reference standards for the national standard of capacitance units are: capacitor 100 pF of type 11A, capacitors 10 pF and 100 pF of type 1408 and capacitors 10 pF, 100 pF and 1000 pF of type 1404. The measurements of elements of the national standard of capacitance unit by means of the RLC comparator are made using three methods: direct comparison, substitution and replacing of standards. The results obtained show that the use of the comparator RLC for measuring the standards of capacitance allows determining their value with a lower measurement uncertainty compared with the previously used transformer bridges. The relative combined standard uncertainty of the capacitors 10 pF of type 11A is less than 0,2 ×10-6 and of the reference standards is less than 3 ×10-6 for the measurement methods using the RLC comparator.

Opis:
Industry often utilizes acoustical hoods to block noise emitted from reciprocating compressors. However, the hoods are large and bulky. Therefore, to diminish the size of the compressor, a compact discharge muffler linked to the compressor outlet is considered. Because the geometry of a reciprocating compressor is irregular, COMSOL, a finite element analysis software, is adopted. In order to explore the acoustical performance, a mathematical model is established using a finite element method via the COMSOL commercialized package. Additionally, to facilitate the shape optimization of the muffler, a polynomial neural network model is adopted to serve as an objective function; also, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is linked to the OBJ function. During the optimization, various noise abatement strategies such as a reverse expansion chamber at the outlet of the discharge muffler and an inner extended tube inside the discharge muffler, will be assessed by using the artificial neural network in conjunction with the GA optimizer. Consequently, the discharge muffler that is optimally shaped will decrease the noise of the reciprocating compressor.

Opis:
Research on plenums partitioned with multiple baffles in the industrial field has been exhaustive. Most researchers have explored noise reduction effects based on the transfer matrix method and the boundary element method. However, maximum noise reduction of a plenum within a constrained space, which frequently occurs in engineering problems, has been neglected. Therefore, the optimum design of multi-chamber plenums becomes essential. In this paper, two kinds of multi-chamber plenums (Case I: a two-chamber plenum that is partitioned with a centre-opening baffle; Case II: a three-chamber plenum that is partitioned with two centre-opening baffles) within a fixed space are assessed. In order to speed up the assessment of optimal plenums hybridized with multiple partitioned baffles, a simplified objective function (OBJ) is established by linking the boundary element model (BEM, developed using SYSNOISE) with a polynomial neural network fit with a series of real data – input design data (baffle dimensions) and output data approximated by BEM data in advance. To assess optimal plenums, a genetic algorithm (GA) is applied. The results reveal that the maximum value of the transmission loss (TL) can be improved at the desired frequencies. Consequently, the algorithm proposed in this study can provide an efficient way to develop optimal multi-chamber plenums for industry.

Opis:
The safety of workers, the environment and the communities surrounding a mine are primary concerns for the mining industry. Therefore, implementing a blast-induced ground vibration monitoring system to monitor the vibrations emitted due to blasting operations is a logical approach that addresses these concerns. Empirical and soft computing models have been proposed to estimate blast-induced ground vibrations. This paper tests the efficiency of the Wavelet Neural Network (WNN). The motive is to ascertain whether the WNN can be used as an alternative to other widely used techniques. For the purpose of comparison, four empirical techniques (the Indian Standard, the United State Bureau of Mines, Ambrasey-Hendron, and Langefors and Kilhstrom) and four standard artificial neural networks of backpropagation (BPNN), radial basis (RBFNN), generalised regression (GRNN) and the group method of data handling (GMDH) were employed. According to the results obtained from the testing dataset, the WNN with a single hidden layer and three wavelons produced highly satisfactory and comparable results to the benchmark methods of BPNN and RBFNN. This was revealed in the statistical results where the tested WNN had minor deviations of approximately 0.0024 mm/s, 0.0035 mm/s, 0.0043 mm/s, 0.0099 and 0.0168 from the best performing model of BPNN when statistical indicators of Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Relative Root Mean Square Error (RRMSE), Correlation Coefficient (R) and Coefficient of determination (R2) were considered.

The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and PROMETHEE have gained increasing attention in the field of construction management as techniques for the analysis of complex situations and as decision support for decision makers. However, these two methods in themselves or their potential applications to problems of construction management are not sufficiently defined in the existing literature. The environment of group decision-making bring even more challenges. This paper consolidates and critically discusses the current knowledge on the application of AHP and PROMETHEE methods in the light of the specifics of the construction industry. A systematic literature review was used to select the contributions indexed in the databases Scopus and Web of Science. The findings indicate that the studies deal with broad topics and different aspects in different phases of civil engineering projects. This paper provides a useful reference work for researchers and practitioners interested in the application of AHP and PROMEETHEE as tools for group decision-making in civil engineering.

The way compatible pairs of nitrate non-utilizing mutants (nit) are selected is usually not explained and remains unclear whether these pairs are representative for an isolate or strain. In addition, tester strains of Verticillium dahliae vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs) cross-react with at least one pair of tester strains of another VCG, and although it is a common knowledge of scientists working with the fungus that reversion of nit mutants to wild type occurs far too often, this fact is rarely mentioned in papers. To overcome the above problems, a protocol was developed for the generation of large number of nit mutants from any given isolate and to ensure that compatible pairs of mutants are indeed stable and the most frequent within the putative tester mutants produced from each isolate. Thus, we provide a reproducible and objective way of selecting V. dahliae tester strains for each isolate and VCG. Although VC grouping is based on the formation of stable heterokaryons, we demonstrate in this work that cross-reactions cannot be eliminated and that strict genetic barriers between two main VCG groups are absent in V. dahliae.

Research into group creativity with its dynamic, interpersonal, and multi-perspective character poses many challenges, among others, how to collect data and capture its shared nature. In this paper, we discuss the creative process of an ensemble in dance improvisation as an example of vivid and collaborative creative practice. To identify aspects of improvisational dance cognition, we designed and applied a videostimulated recall approach to capturing the multiple perspectives of the shared creative process. We tested the method during an improvisational session with dancers, showing how the recordings of dancers' thought narratives and internal states might be used for studying group creativity. Finally, we presented an audiovisual installation Between Minds and Bodies that aimed to recreate the dancers’ experience and offered immersion into the creative process by accessing individual dancer’s thought processes in the improvised performance while watching the dance improvisation.

Opis:
Crisp values are insufficient to model real-life situations and imprecise ideas are frequently represented in multicriteria decision aid analysis. In fact, it is difficult to treat the evaluation criteria precisely and to fix exact preferences rating. The triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers succeeded to treat this kind of ambiguity in a great deal of research than other forms of fuzzy representation functions. The field of sorting issues is an active research topic in the multiple criteria decision aid (MCDA). This study extended one of the sorting methods, FLOWSORT, for solving multiple criteria group decision-making problems. This extension described the preferences rating of alternatives as linguistic terms which can be easily expressed in triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. To validate our extension, an illustrative example as well as an empirical comparison with other multi-criteria decision making methods is presented.

This study aims to develop a new Interval Rough COmbinative Distance-based Assessment (IR CODAS) method for handling multiple criteria group decision making problems using linguistic terms. A single decision maker is unable to express his opinions or preferences on multiple criteria decisions, while a Multi-Criteria Group Decision Making MCGDM process ensures successful outcomes when handling greater imprecision and vagueness information. A real-life case study of risk assessment is investigated using our proposed IR-CODAS method to test and validate its application; a sensitivity analysis is also performed.

Opis:
Multiple Criteria Decision Making methods have become very popular in recent years and are frequently applied in many real-life situations. The increasing complexity of the decision problems analysed makes it less feasible to consider all the relevant aspects of the problems by a single decision maker. As a result, many real-life problems are discussed by a group of decision makers. The aim of the paper is to present a new approach for ranking of alternatives with fuzzy data for group decision making using the TOPSIS method. In the proposed approach, all individual decision information of decision makers is taken into account in determining the ranking of alternatives and selecting the best one. The key stage of this method is the transformation of the decision matrices provided by the decision makers into matrices of alternatives. A matrix corresponding to an alternative is composed of its assessments with respect to all criteria, performed by all the decision makers. A numerical example illustrates the proposed approach.

The article presents definitions of uniform group defined in the binary representation method. The ability to identify uniform group enables the construction of a simplified logical description in the total consideration of the combinations of a multi-input combination system. The binary representation method is an alternative way of constructing a simplified description of the output function of a combinational system in relation to the method of formal transformations, the Karnaugh table or the Quine-McCluskey methods.
