As a result of the increase in the world population and the decrease in agricultural land, the need for food increases every day. Nowadays, breeding studies are carried out to increase the yield of plants to get more products from the same area. Furthermore, controlled production areas are created by optimizing climatic conditions and the continuity of production is ensured. It is called greenhouse, where production can be carried out throughout the year and the indoor temperature and humidity conditions can be controlled. Nowadays, greenhouses are now functioning as an industrial enterprise. However, greenhouses need to comply with the principles of quality production, efficient income growth and physical environmental protection. Almost all of the plant production in greenhouses in Turkey is done in the Mediterranean region, but in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, it is done in a very limited greenhouse area. The increase of protected agricultural areas in the Mediterranean region and the fact that the production volume cannot reach a certain limit makes it necessary to investigate alternative protected production areas. In this study, climate conditions of Antalya province and climate data of four provinces of the Lower Euphrates basin are compared with each other and statistically compared. As a result of, differences have been found between Antalya province and the provinces in the Lower Euphrates basin in terms of minimum, maximum, and average temperatures. However, there is no difference between the provinces in the basin except for Gaziantep in terms of climatic conditions. Therefore, it has been determined that Gaziantep province is not suitable for greenhouse cultivation. However, it has been concluded that if greenhouse cultivation is performed in this province, it is appropriate to perform cultivation in the areas where alternative energy sources can be used. It has been concluded that in the case that heating costs are reduced using alternative energy sources, Şanlıurfa and Kilis provinces are climatologically suitable for greenhouse cultivation and Adıyaman province is partially suitable for it.

Aim: The main objective of this research was to evaluate the efficiency of economic costs in seven units of greenhouse tomato production, during the production cycles of 2016, through the application of the stochastic frontier, depending on the type of packaging they handle and the cost structure that governs them.   Design / Research methods: The stochastic frontier model includes the analysis of the non-systematic random component, which assumes an extremely critical role in the analysis during the interpretations. With the calculation of the stochastic cost frontier we construct the cost inefficiency index represented by C_it, delimited below 0. The index shows the percentage in which the cost is exceeded and, therefore, the degree of inefficiency.   Conclusions / findings: The elaboration of the stochastic frontier finds its justification in the argument that the less efficient competitor is the one that receives the greater effects of the competition. In this sense, the location of the companies analyzed with respect to their own line of efficiency is essential for the design of the strategies of each company. The production units analyzed showed that, on some occasions, externalities are the cause of inefficiency, but contrary to what is established in theory, there are some units that show that the inefficiency with which they count is diminished by The influence of uncontrolled variables.  Originality / value of the article: The contribution of this research lies in the use of efficiency models in the primary sector, specifically in tomato´s greenhouses.

The Waste Directive establishes the basic principles of waste management, but it does not regulate issues relating to crop residues that remain on the farm, which creates a legal vacuum at the level of European Union law. In this situation, Member States are obliged to respond to problems arising from certain types of production. The article presents the current situation in this area in south-western Europe, where, due to the seasonal nature of production, crop residues arise at certain times of year. As we know, the common agricultural policy promotes the sustainable development of agriculture in relation to production carried out on European territory, which is why, according to the author, it is necessary to introduce appropriate legal regulations. The proper use and management of these residues by farmers may contribute to the improvement of their income which is consistent with the principles of circular management as part of the valorisation of these harvest residues.
La direttiva sui rifiuti stabilisce i principi di base per la gestione degli stessi, ma non disciplina le questioni riguardanti i residui del raccolto rimasti nell’azienda agricola, il che crea un vuoto giuridico a livello di diritto dell’Unione europea. Per cui, gli Stati membri sono obbligati a reagire ai problemi derivanti da alcuni tipi di produzione. Al riguardo, l’articolo presenta la situazione attuale nell’Europa sudoccidentale, in cui – a causa della stagionalità della produzione – si formano residui di raccolto in determinati periodi dell’anno. Come noto, la politica agricola comune promuove lo sviluppo sostenibile dell'agricoltura in relazione alle produzioni realizzate sul territorio europeo. Pertanto, secondo l’Autrice, è necessario introdurre regolazioni giuridiche adeguate. Un corretto utilizzo e gestione dei residui in oggetto da parte degli agricoltori potrebbe contribuire ad accrescere il loro reddito, in coerenza con i principi dell’economia circolare portando alla valorizzazione dei residui stessi.

W artykule przedstawiono panel sterowniczy z ekranem dotykowym. Przeznaczony jest on do sterowania systemów wspomagających rozwój roślin. Umożliwia on kształtowanie emisji światła zarówno w czasie, przestrzeni i w widmie. Pozwala na odtwarzanie uprzednio przygotowanych programów odpowiednich dla różnych gatunków i faz rozwoju roślin. Dzięki niemu system w którym ten panel jest stosowany jest ergonomicznym i elastycznym narzędziem dla rolników i fizjologów roślin.
TFT Human Machine Interface with touchscreen is presented. It is designed to work in plant grow light system. It allows forming the light emission in time, space and spectrum. It can replay different prepared programs for various species and stages of plant growth. Thanks to it a system in which the panel is applied is ergonomic and flexible tool for farmers and plant physiologists.
