It is necessary to understand globalisation as a long-term process of the reciprocal convergence of the various interests of people on the planet at all the levels of social life. It is a process which is predominantly cultural, economic and political. On the other hand, there are also local interests of people that may be incompatible with globalisation. The process of “glocalisation” could represent some solution: i.e. the interconnection of global and local. This study deals with the both positive and negative phenomena of globalisation process.
Konieczne jest, aby rozumieć globalizację jako proces długo-falowego wzajemnego zbliżenia różnych interesów ludzi na naszej planecie na wszystkich poziomach życia społecznego. Z jednej strony jest to proces przede wszystkim kulturowy, gospodarczy i polityczny. Z drugiej strony, są też lokalne interesy osób, które mogą być niezgodne z globalizacją. Proces "glokalizacji" może stanowić pewne rozwiązanie, czyli wzajemne połączenia globalne i lokalne. Artykuł przedstawia zarówno pozytywne jak i negatywne zjawiska globalizacji.

The basic issue addressed in this paper is responsibility conceived in the perspective of global responsibility and, within its framework, responsibility for future generations. In the face of growing threats and crisis phenomena the category of responsibility has gained a fundamental meaning. Responsibility may be considered in the context of the past and presence, but it should also be analyzed as referring to the future. The paper will elucidate main understanding of responsibility; the notion and value of responsibility will be analyzed in close relation to the notions and values of solidarity, justice, and community thinking and action.

The subject of the article is Peter Singer’s „ethics of globalization” presented in his book of year 2002 One World. The Ethics of Globalization – translated into Polish language in year 2006 – towards contemporary proposals of dealing with ethical problems of globalization. Singer’s reflection on global problems solutions, eg. climate changes, disparities of economic development, etc. brings many valuable observations on moral condition of the contemporary world. In terms of normative sphere, it appears to be profoundly less constructive. The concept of the global government as an ethical subject, which he develops at the end of his observations, does not take into account negative experiences of UN. In such aspect, it constitutes a step back towards alterglobalistic concepts, which did not create satisfying theories of a new social ethical subject, but put emphasis on a problem of forceless and seeming actions of contemporary political elites. Peter Singer seems to avoid noticing such problem.

Agenda na Rzecz Zrównoważonego Rozwoju 2030 to instytucjonalny plan rozwoju dla świata, zakładający m.in. eliminację ubóstwa, godne życie dla wszystkich ludzi oraz zapewnienie pokoju do 2030 roku. Implementowanie zawartych w niej 17 Celów Zrównoważonego Rozwoju oznacza realizację zadań prospołecznych, rozwój społeczeństwa inkluzywnego, równy wzrost gospodarczy i ochronę środowiska. Wykorzenienie ubóstwa, redukcja nierówności czy wzrost dobrobytu to cele, znajdujące swoje uzasadnienie w filozofii, która je kategoryzuje pod postacią wartości, jak też norm etycznych i moralnych. W artykule zostały prześledzone wiodące koncepcje etyk, do których mogli odwołać się przedstawiciele państw członkowskich ONZ, formułując Agendę. Przedstawiono również rozważania nad głoszonymi w ramach tych aksjologii wartościami sytuującymi się u podstaw analizowanego dokumentu.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an institutional development plan for the world, assuming, among others, eradication of poverty, dignified life for all people and world peace by 2030. Implementation of 17 Goals of Sustainable Development means the achievement of specific social tasks, development of an inclusive society and equal economic growth and environmental protection. Eradicating poverty, reducing inequality or increasing prosperity are targets, which are rooted in philosophy. The paper presented leading concepts of ethics, to which the representatives of the Member States of the United Nations referred to when developing the Post-2015 Agenda. Moreover, a reflection over axiological values at the basis of the Post-2015 Agenda was undertaken.

The article addresses the issue of ethics of global responsibility approached from a new and cosmocentric point of view. Philosophical considerations enriched by current natural knowledge allow us to look at the world from a cosmic perspective and at human nature from the evolutionary point of view which should be taken into account when defining the scope of our moral obligations. Questions concerning the human moral condition and the scope of human responsibility and the impact of that responsibility on human behavior in relation to the Earth and the Universe gain a distinctive meaning in the fight against various global perils and problems. The paper provides a justification of why contemporary ethics requires reformulation and such a complementing that would broaden the scope of moral responsibility so it would include not only the current and future generations and other species, but also the whole living community of the earth. Responsibility is treated here as a link that is ontic, evolutionarily shaped and characteristic for the homo sapiens species, which connects the human beings with the surrounding world. Such a conceived responsibility is the foundation of the sense of planetary solidarity and provides reasons to include the whole cosmic ecosphere into the scope of moral care.

The author of article proves that in the era of the globalization the institutional order of national economy is influenced by the distorted competition which results in domination of the managers and technicians of great corporations. It is their businesses that define the economic policy. In the world of asymmetric information, oligopolistic competition, political market and progressive commercialization of the axiological sphere the rules of thinking and acting are merely reduced to the strategy of self-advantage. This situation results in ineffective institutional protection at the global, regional and national levels. To remove social inequalities effectively it is necessary to have control over the dominating groups in society and to develop coherent norms of institutional protection. There is also a need for the development of human capital and its modernization as a common notion of moral values of society and the individual.

The interaction between science and policy is affected by increasingly dissolving boundaries whereby a number of issues arise, such as, what should political advice for national parliaments consist of in the face of global socio-technical developments? The Internet of Things in relation to Big Data resulting in enormously fast analysis of huge amounts of data, accelerates the dissolution of boundaries between science, society and policy at global level. This type of “globalization” raises questions that concern very diverse and intimate areas of life, ranging from food to health to work automation. How can access to science and technology in very different societal settings can be enabled, while also accounting for global developments? The article deals with the assumption that global effects of science and technology as well as global challenges lead to an urgent need to develop methodologies for analyzing and also shaping these developments. Under the umbrella term “Global Technology Assessment” (Global TA) it is argued that the problem-oriented, interdisciplinary methodology of technology assessment offers a promising frame to deal with cultural and ethical questions in relation to emerging technologies. This framework is needed in order to be able to develop meaningful national comparisons, but also in order to be able to approach the analysis of common future challenges on equal footing.

The phenomenon of death is an issue which was very frequent in philosophy. However, almost all reflections on this subject were usually from the anthropocentric perspective. In the cognitive horizon, for example, the issue of the essence of death was investigated, human helplessness was discussed in its face, models of existential attitude towards inevitability were constructed. This anthropocentric attitude changed only in the second half of the twentieth century in the result of the ecological crisis. From then on, in the philosophical debate, not only is discussed the death of a man but also death in the sense of total annihilation of life on Earth. According to the concept of global death, the passing ceases to be accidental. It loses connotations close to the metaphor of further life. It also ceases to be identical with the cosmic metamorphosis. Instead, it becomes a synonym of evil, which delivers the final blow to everything that lives in the biosphere. In this vision, one can grasp death cognitively and oppose its physical abandonment. Man, regarding global death, can remain a causative agent. One of the philosophical versions of stopping the invasion of death was proposed by Hans Jonas. He called his strategy the ethics of responsibility. Fear heuristics, new axiology and the ideal of human attitudes play a key role in it.

W artykule przedstawiono istotę zrównoważonego rozwoju w późnej nowoczesności odnoszącą się do kształtowania rozwoju społecznego zarówno lokalnych społeczeństw, jak i globalnego społeczeństwa. Rozwój sustensywny (zrównoważony) jest procesem wielopoziomowym. W szczególności, oznacza to, że powinno następować polepszanie jakości życia wszystkich istot ludzkich, a także kreowanie ładu społecznego, gospodarczego, ekologicznego, przestrzennego i instytucjonalno-politycznego. Zaspokojenie potrzeb człowieka powinno następować przez realizację odpowiednich celów społecznych i/lub gospodarczych i/lub środowiskowych współtworzących rozwój. Współzależności pomiędzy tymi trzema kategoriami rozwojowymi winny się wzajemnie interaktywnie warunkować, a tym samym ujmować fakt, że proces rozwojowy zachodzi w trójsystemie.
This paper provides consideration on sustainable development in postmodern time, which should conduct shaping of social development as well as development of local and global communities. Ensuring sustainability of development is a multilevel process. In particular, that means that sustainability is achieved by improving live quality of each member of population, and needs creating of adequate social, economical, ecological, spatial and institutional-political order. Fulfilling of human needs leading to improvement quality of life should be achieved by realization following objectives social and/or economical and/or environmental, what is equal with development social and/or economical and/or environmental. Interrelationships between those three categories of development influence and limited each other.

W artykule scharakteryzowano podstawowe czynniki sprawcze globalizacji oraz efekty ekonomiczne i społeczne postępującej dynamiki procesów globalizacyjnych. Analizie poddano aspekty etyczne zachodzących zmian. Omówiono przyczyny i konsekwencje kryzysu gospodarczego lat 2007-2009. Ukazano pokłosie kryzysu, w wyniku którego wystąpiły: spowolnienie wzrostu globalnej gospodarki, wzrost długu publicznego w większości państw świata, wzrost bezrobocia i biedy, a także przesunięcia w strukturze światowych liderów gospodarczych.
The paper characterises the main causative factors behind globalisation, as well as the economic and social effects of this dynamic phenomenon. Analysed are the ethical aspects of observed changes. The reasons for and results of the 2007-2009 economic crisis are discussed. Also depicted is the aftermath of the crisis: the slowing down of global economic growth, soaring public debts in most countries around the world, increased unemployment and poverty, and a shift in global economic leadership.

Nowe procesy i przemiany globalne, których najliczniejszą grupę uczestników stanowią dzieci, umożliwiają szerszy wgląd w ich sytuację, aktywizm i jednocześnie wymuszają namysł nad zmianami w podejściach badawczych w prowadzonych badaniach z dziećmi, nad dzieciństwem i o prawach dzieci w krajach Globalnego Południa i Globalnej Północy, którym od trzech dekad towarzyszy Konwencja o prawach dziecka.
The text refers to contemporary childhood and children’s rights studies. I reflect on the need to decolonise these studies resulting from the changing conditioning and contexts of children’s lives, changing models of childhood as well as ways and potentials of children’s functioning in the 21st century. New global processes and transformations, of which children are the most numerous participants, allow us a broader insight into their situation and activism. At the same time, they necessitate reflection on changes in approaches to research with children, on childhood and children’s rights in countries of the Global South and Global North, that has been accompanied by the UNCRC for three decades.
