Opis:: This paper focuses on analysis of structural competitiveness of Polish trade with USA in face of the negotiation of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between EU and US. Process is discussed in the context of wealth-effect of international trade as well as overregional international integration. Appart from analytical debate, this paper attempts to determine challenges and chances for Polish foreign trade with US and with EU countries as well as the economy in a view of modern-factor-imports from US. Introduction offers an insight into determinants and data of Polish intra-industry trade.

Opis:: Aim/purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze regional trade integration of 10 Central and Eastern Europe countries (CEE-10) during the 2004-2018 period, identify regional- and country-level integration patterns and attribute them to potential causes indicated by the literature. Design/methodology/approach - The paper employed literature-based trade integration indicators to data on CEE-10 trade in goods and conducted a review of empirical studies investigating trade integration determinants in CEE. Findings - The results evidence an advancing regional trade integration with decreasing pace in recent years. The study has found all CEE countries to be more integrated with the region. Moreover, several integration patterns have been distinguished. Research implications/limitations - The study found a significant literature gap concerning CEE regional trade integration and its determinants. Its limitations refer to: lack of product-groups-level trade data and narrow scope of trade flows (in goods only). Originality/value/contribution - The paper's value-added stems from a multi-perspective analysis of the CEE regional trade integration and a discussion of region- and country-level integration patterns.

Opis:: This article covers a cross-sectional and updating reflection on the phenomena taking place in the security sphere of the region, the so-called Three Seas. The research subject of the article is the Three Seas Initiative format as a potential subjective keystone of the security of Central and Eastern Europe, treated taking into account historical and current events, as one of the foundations of not only the European or Euro-Atlantic, but also the global security architecture. The priority research goal was to present and analyze the progress and integration and institutional perspectives of the Three Seas Region, and thus an attempt to search for the status arrangements of this format, by analyzing this geopolitical space in the light of, above all, the concept of regional security complexes (but also, among others, geopolitical wedges, the influence of superpowers of the global balance of power). The findings presented in these investigations signal both attempts to comprehensively bind the region with interdependence, attempts at far-reaching rapprochement and co-creation of soft security architecture – in the form of development-progressing infrastructure, as well as pragmatic and conservative behavior, resulting from both the geopolitical dynamics and current national calculations of the Three Seas countries.
Artykuł stanowi przekrojową i aktualizującą refleksję nad zjawiskami zachodzącymi w sferze bezpieczeństwa regionu tzw. Trójmorza. Przedmiotem badań artykułu jest format Inicjatywy Trójmorza jako potencjalnego podmiotowego zwornika bezpieczeństwa Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, traktowanej biorąc pod uwagę wydarzenia historyczne i bieżące, jako jeden z ważnych fundamentów nie tylko europejskiej czy euroatlantyckiej, ale także globalnej architektury bezpieczeństwa. Priorytetowym celem badawczym było przedstawienie i analiza postępu oraz perspektyw integracyjnych i instytucjonalnych Regionu Trójmorza, a co za tym idzie próba poszukiwania ustaleń statusowych tego formatu, poprzez analizę tej przestrzeni geopolitycznej w świetle przede wszystkim interesującej koncepcji regionalnych kompleksów bezpieczeństwa (ale także m.in. klinów geopolitycznych, wpływu mocarstw na światową równowagę sił). Wyniki przeprowadzonych i przedstawionych badań sygnalizują zarówno występujące próby kompleksowego powiązania regionu współzależnościami, próby daleko idącego zbliżenia i współtworzenia miękkiej architektury bezpieczeństwa – w postaci rozwijającej się infrastruktury, współpracy, jak i zachowania pragmatyczne, zachowawcze, wynikające zarówno z dynamiki geopolitycznej, jak i bieżących kalkulacji krajowych państw Trójmorza.
