    Ustalenie kryteriów umożliwiających klasyfikację geotopów (geostanowisk) z punktu widzenia rozmaitego rodzaju zapotrzebowania społecznego (wartość muzealna, badania naukowe, edukacja przyrodnicza młodzieży, krajoznawstwo) budzi wiele wątpliwości. System waloryzacji geotopów stosowany przez Niemiecką Służbę Geologiczną wydaje się być dobrą propozycją wprowadzenia takich kryteriów. Wspomniany wyżej system został zastosowany przy ocenie wartości geotopów na terenie planowanego transgranicznego Geoparku Łuk Mużakowa, leżącego u zbiegu granic Polski, Brandenburgii i Saksonii. Na całym obszarze geoparku, po stronie polskiej i niemieckiej, zinwentaryzowano i poddano ocenie na podstawie jednolitych kryteriów 95 różnych geotopów, z których 34 znajduje się w polskiej części obszaru. Za wartościowe i szczególnie wartościowe z punktu widzenia badań naukowych należy uznać 32 geotopy (w tym 12 w części polskiej), a z punktu widzenia wartości dla edukacji i turystyki - także 32 geotopy (w tym 14 w części polskiej). W świetle tych wyników polska część projektowanego geoparku "Łuk Mużakowa" stanowi jego istotny element.

    Opis:
    The paper presents inventory and results of valorization of geotopes located in the Walbrzych region. This region is situated in south-western Poland, in proximity of the Wałbrzych Foothills (Bolków-Wałbrzych Foothills), Wałbrzych Mts., Kamienne Mts. and Sowie Mts. and Kamienna Góra Basin. The 149 geotopes which represents 6 geological themes - sedimentology, volcanism, metamorphism, geomorphology, hydrogeology, geology of Quaternary - have been selected and evaluated. All the data collected for these sites are stored in the database and may be displayed on several thematic maps. Based on results of valorization of geotopes, analyses of geology and geomorphology of the area as well as evaluation of land development, the seven geotourist sub-areas (so-called domains) have been differentiated. The results of the geotopes inventory and valorization indicate a possibility to propose a new geotourist area in the studied region and name it "Wałbrzych Geotourist Area".

    Opis:
    The idea of establishing the Post-Glacial Land of the Drawa and Dêbnica Geopark emerged on the initiative of the members of Polish Geological Institute – Pomeranian Branch of the National Research Institute and local authorities. At the beginning of the year 2011, commissioned by the Minister of the Environment by the funds of the NFEP&WM, launched works intending to establishment of the Geopark of the Post-Glacial Land of Drawa and Dębnica. The major intention of the concept was researching and demonstrating the 50 geosites covering the Post-Glacial Land and their integration into a consistent network, establishing fundaments of the geopark. The geopark consists of the lands between Połczyn-Zdrój, Barwice and Czaplinek and is positioned in the eastern part of the Zachodniopomorskie voivodenship. The geopark is located inside the early post-glacial landscape, with dominant form of undulant moraine uplands with: terminal moraines, dead ice moraines, kemes, tunel valleys, ice-marginal valleys, kettle holes and sandurs. The geotouristic potential of the region focuses on the early postglacial landscape, and its biggest beauty the shape of the terrain.

    Opis:
    The Muskau Arch lies in southern part of Lubuskie voivoship and border zone of Saxony and Brandenburg. It forms glaciotectonical structure well visible in terrain morphology. Inside it, there are disturbed Neogene deposits with brown coal seams. Among the abundant fold and slice structures the numerous brown coal and accompanying glass sands and ceramic clays deposits has been investigated. Underground and opencast mining of brown coal was conducted from the middle of XIX century up to the second part of XX century. Nowadays, many post-mining evidences like antropogenic reservoir and artificial landforms are exposed in the Muskau Arch area. The natural processes of post-mining areas transformation both with the post-industrial cultural heritage and geological phenomenon are protected values as a Geopark. In the year 2006, the Muskau Arch has obtained certificate of the seventh German National Geopark and in the year 2009, of the first Polish National Geopark (National Muskau Arch Geopark). The aims are preservation of geological heritage as well as scientific and teaching purposes. Current efforts are made for establishing the transborder Muskau Arch Geopark, of the European Geopark rank with the UNESCO support.
