Opis:
A new generic name, Cycliphyllia, is here proposed as a replacement name for Cyclophyllia Roniewiecz, 1989 (type species: Thecosmilia cyclica Schaefer et Senowbari-Daryan, 1978, Upper Triassic). The latter is a junior homonyme of Cyclophyllia Milne-Edwards et Haime, 1848 (type species: Cyclolites cristata Lamarck, 1801, Cretaceous), an invalid name, which is a junior synonyme of Aspidiscus Koenig, 1825 (Milne-Edwards 1857: t. 2, p. 386). This regrettable error has been noticed thanks to the List of generic names by Wells (1986). As a consequence of the above change, the orthography of the family name Cyclophylliidae Roniewicz, 1989 is here corrected into Cycliphylliidae.

For a continuous map f from a real compact interval I into itself, we consider the set C(f) of points (x,y) ∈ I² for which $lim inf_{n→∞} |f^n(x) - f^n(y)| = 0$ and $lim sup_{n→∞} |f^n(x) - f^n(y)| > 0$. We prove that if C(f) has full Lebesgue measure then it is residual, but the converse may not hold. Also, if λ² denotes the Lebesgue measure on the square and Ch(f) is the set of points (x,y) ∈ C(f) for which neither x nor y are asymptotically periodic, we show that λ²(C(f)) > 0 need not imply λ²(Ch(f)) > 0. We use these results to propose some plausible definitions of "complete" and "observable" chaos.

Let M be a generic CR submanifold in $ℂ^{m+n}$, m = CR dim M ≥ 1, n = codim M ≥ 1, d = dim M = 2m + n. A CR meromorphic mapping (in the sense of Harvey-Lawson) is a triple $(f,_f,[Γ_f])$, where: 1) $f: _f → Y$ is a ¹-smooth mapping defined over a dense open subset $_f$ of M with values in a projective manifold Y; 2) the closure $Γ_f$ of its graph in $ℂ^{m+n} × Y$ defines an oriented scarred ¹-smooth CR manifold of CR dimension m (i.e. CR outside a closed thin set) and 3) $d[Γ_f] = 0$ in the sense of currents. We prove that $(f,_f,[Γ_f])$ extends meromorphically to a wedge attached to M if M is everywhere minimal and $^ω$ (real-analytic) or if M is a $^{2,α}$ globally minimal hypersurface.

Sytuując się na pograniczu literaturoznawstwa i językoznawstwa, niniejszy artykuł dotyczy dwóch zjawisk: dezindywidualizacji wypowiedzi czy też inaczej – zatarcia znaczników subiektywności w dyskursie (effacement énonciatif) oraz hybrydowości rodzajowej / gatunkowej (effets de généricité). Jako materiał egzemplifikacyjny posłużyła nam mało znana sztuka teatralna La Poche Parmentier Georges’a Pereca, znanego z nonszalanckiego stosunku do konwencji rodzajowych, której tematem jest obieranie ziemniaków. Zanik subiektywnego i zaangażowanego w swą mowę wypowiadacza (postaci-lokutora) osiągnięty zostaje poprzez: 1. zwielokrotnienie źródeł wypowiedzi i gatunków mowy (postaci posługują się przepisami kuchennymi, hasłami reklamowymi, danymi z roczników statystycznych, encyklopedii, itp.); 2. powtarzanie pewnych segmentów wypowiedzi i cykliczność wydarzeń; 3. systematyczne odwołania intertekstowe, w których postaci odgrywają role, zamiast mówić „za siebie” (collage scen ze sztuk Ioneski, Labiche’a, Szekspira...). Z genologicznego punktu widzenia La Poche Parmentier jest ciekawym przykładem sztuki teatralnej złożonej z szeregu mikro- i makronarracji, które rozbijają w pewien sposób jej konfigurację rodzajową (interferencje trybu mimetycznego i diegetycznego).

W artykule omówiono pewien specyficzny sposób reprezentacji danych, który w pewnych sytuacjach może być stosowany w miejsce klasycznego podejścia relacyjnego. Jest on stosunkowo mało znany i choć zakres jego stosowalności jest ograniczony a pewne niekorzystne właściwości znaczne, to warto go poznać, gdyż istnieją obszary, gdzie jego stosowanie może przynieść wymierne korzyści. Mowa tu o tzw. podejściu Entity-Attribute-Value, w skrócie EAV. Jest ono całkowicie różne od podejścia relacyjnego. W pracy pokazano główne założenia EAV wraz z przykładami oraz omówiono jego podstawowe zalety i wady. Krótko omówiono również pewne alternatywne rozwiązanie do EAV, które posiada niektóre cechy EAV, a jednocześnie nie burzy tak bardzo podejścia relacyjnego.
In the paper a specific kind of data representation is presented. In some situations it can be used in place of classical relational approach. This data representation, although not new, is not widely known, and in spite of some serious limitations, can be used in many specific database areas. We describe the Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) approach. This approach is totally different to the relational one. In the paper we give an overview of the EAV as well as we show the main advantages and disadvantages. Also, we show an alternative approach to EAV which does not suffer the EAV limitations.

In the work presented in this paper, the effects on aerodynamic lift caused by the flow of exhaust gases when intentionally oriented on the rear wing element of a generic Formula One car have been investigated. A quantitative analysis on the effect of a cold jet of nitrogen gas on a wing element NACA 0012 has been conducted using a medium-speed wind tunnel facility. The Reynolds number for the jet flow, based on the jet diameter and exit velocity was 13000. The Reynolds number base on the bodywork length and the free stream flow velocity was around 54000. The airfoil was mounted onto a 3-component strain-gauge force balance, from which readings for lift and drag forces were measured. This arrangement was supported on sliding system in order to allow measurements at airfoil heights of 32, 45, 60 and 90mm with respect to the floor of the wind tunnel. The angle of attack of the wing element was also varied within the range of -20 to +20 degrees. A qualitative comparison between the experimental results and the computational simulation was performed through the application of oil flow technique for a representative number of cases. The agreement was found to be satisfactory as the primary flow features were predicted to a rea-sonable degree of accuracy in the computational study. The potential benefits for engine cooling derived from placing the exhaust pipe inside a duct of larger diameter were also investigated in the computational part. A parametric investigation concerning the relative diameter of the exhaust pipe and the outer duct, as well as the overlap between them will be discussed. The commercial CFD package FLUENT, in its 6.1 version, was employed for the numerical simulation part of the present work.
W pracy zaprezentowanej w niniejszej publikacji badano wpływ na siłę nośną wywołany przez przepływ gazów spalinowych ukierunkowanych celowo na element tylnego skrzydła bazowego samochodu Formuły 1. W tunelu aerodynamicznym średniej prędkości przeprowadzono analizę ilościową wypływu strumienia zimnego azotu na element skrzydła o profilu NACA 0012. Liczba Reynoldsa dla wypływu z dyszy, na podstawie średnicy dyszy i prędkości wylotowej wynosiła 13000. Liczba Reynoldsa obliczona na podstawie dlugości nadwozia i prędkości przepływu strumienia swobodnego wynosiła okolo 54000. Skrzydło zamontowano na 3-składowej wadze tensometrycznej, z której odczytywano zmierzone wartości siły nośnej i siły oporu. Układ ten był zamocowany na systemie przesuwnym w celu umożliwienia pomiarów przy wysokościach płata nad podłogą tunelu aerodynamicznego wynoszących: 32, 45, 60 i 90 mm. Kąt natarcia elementu skrzydła był także zmieniany w zakresie od -20 do +20 stopni. Jakościowe porównania wyników badań i symulacji komputerowej przeprowadzono przy zastosowaniu techniki wizualizacji przepływem oleju dla reprezentatywnej liczby przypadków. Zgodność została uznana za wystarczającą, jako że podstawowe cechy przepływu były przewidziane z wystarczającą dokładnościa w badaniach obliczeniowych. W części obliczeniowej byly również badane potencjalne korzyści dla chłodzenia silnika pochodzące z wyprowadzenia rury wydechowej do wnętrza kanału o większej średnicy. Zostały również omówione analizy parametryczne dotyczące stosunku średnic rury wydechowej i kanału zewnętrznego, jak również ich wzajemne zachodzenie na siebie. Komercyjny pakiet oprogramowania CFD FLUENT, w wersji 6.1, został wykorzystany w części niniejszej pracy dotyczqcej symulacji numerycznej przepływów.

Near the end of the twentieth century, a medium−sized early proboscidean found in Dor El Talha (late Eocene to early Oligocene), Libya, originally identified as a small species of Barytherium, was described as a new species of Numidotherium and designated Numidotherium savagei. Poorly known, this taxon has been excluded from most of the recent debate about the origin and diversification of the order Proboscidea. New specimens described herein show strong structural similarities of the upper teeth with those of bunolophodont early proboscideans (e.g., Moeritherium and Phiomia) and document the shared presence of derived traits in the postcranial skeleton. The newly referred material also demonstrates some unique characteristics of this taxon, notably in its mandibular morphology and the microstructure of its dental enamel. Included for the first time in a cladistic analysis (207 anatomical characters applied to all early tethytheres), N. savagei is distinct from both Numidotherium and Barytherium, and lies in an “intermediate” position between the strictly lophodont Eocene proboscideans and the bunolophodont moeritheres and elephantiforms. Accordingly, the species is herein referred to a new genus, Arcanotherium. New data on its mandibular symphysis and, especially, on its lower incisors loci and morphology, bring new support to a hypothesis of homology between the lower incisors of early proboscideans and the ever−growing lower tusks of the elephantiforms, which are identified here as di1 and i1.
