The author of this publication has considered the question of presence so called gender in the law of European Union and its chances and risks which could be the consequences of gender’s ideology. Firstly, author has made the analysis of equivocal notion of gender and has indicated the difference between gender studies, which is the academic discipline, which the subject are the means of demonstration of genders in different cultures and societies and gender mainstreaming which is the political strategy extracting the part of achievements above discipline. Subsequently there have been mentioned numerous regulations and documents of EU law, which regulate the gender equality. Finally, the author has evaluated, if gender pose a threat or a chance for society. Consequently this elaboration is the voice getting into a discussion to the point of gender and its potential consequences.

With participation in social life, all the interpersonal and intergroup relations an individual establishes takes places in accordance with his/her gender roles and gender identity attributed by society. In this respect, it can be suggested that all forms of relationships individuals establish with others are shaped in parallel with his/ her gender identity. Therefore, it would not be wrong to argue that the gender identity an individual possesses in interpersonal relationships has a significant effect on the formation of the relationship established. One of the most important communication barriers confronted in the interpersonal communication process is stereotypes related to gender identity. Gender identity stereotypes emerge according to gender roles taught to each individual who joins society. The presence of these stereotypes turns into interpersonal communication barriers, which, in many cases, show their effects even before communication starts. In this regard, it is considered that addressing the content of stereotypes about the gender identity of the source and recipient as communication barriers in the communication process, is important. For this purpose, emphasis was laid primarily on the guiding effect of stereotypes in interpersonal processes within the scope of the study. Afterwards gender stereotypes were evaluated based on the findings of research conducted in this field, and with reference to characteristics of gender stereotypes.

This article presents research on the dialogue between second-generation Muslim parents and children in the Italian context regarding gender identity, sexual identity, and gender education. Through the testimonies of young people (18-30 years of age), the nature of intergenerational dialogue and parental position toward the relational transformations that their children are experiencing is analysed within the Italian cultural context. For this purpose, 28 semi-structured interviews were conducted in 2021 with boys and girls aged 18–30 years and belonging to Italian Islamic associations. Moreover, 24 young people were divided into 4 focus groups to conduct an in-depth exploration of gender perspectives on these topics; these young people are active members of the Giovani Musulmani d’Italia (Association of Young Italian Muslims). A strongly taboo dialogue emerges from the data; however, this does not hinder young people’s search for greater openness to different forms of relationality and sexuality, both in their current lives and their future families.

Background. Some studies on the decision of patients to choose their primary healthcare physician demonstrate that the ability to choose their physician is associated with increased patient satisfaction, confidence in the doctor and quality healthcare. Objectives. The study was aimed at evaluating factors effecting the decision to change the family physician. Material and methods. In the study, a questionnaire was used to examine the socio-demographic characteristics of the individuals, and the EUROPEP scale was used to measure the satisfaction with primary health services. Moreover, the Individual Innovativeness Scale was used in order to evaluate the innovativeness of individuals. Results. In people who apply to change their family physician, satisfaction with the previous family physician was found to be 69%. Distance (52.7%), education (25.8%) and gender (16%) were declared as the most important reasons to change the family physician. An individual’s innovation seeking behavior did not affect on their decisions to change the physician. Conclusions. In the present study, patient satisfaction was lower than the results reported in previous studies. Distance, education and gender are at the forefront in family physician preference. Patients prioritize receiving service from trained family physicians. These issues should be taken into account while planning the future of family practice.

This article presents the results of biographical research involving women and men over 60, with a focus on the issue of gender identity and how it changes during aging. The study provided answers to three main research questions: Are there distinguishable patterns of forming one’s own gender identity that are specific to senior age, and if so, which ones? Do the patterns change during the ageing process, and if so, how? What determines how a person experiences the transformation of their gender identity in senior age? The article also discusses the ways elderly men and women define their own femininity or masculinity and the significance in this regard of such biographical experiences as losing a spouse, retirement, and bodily aging. There is also an attempt at a typology of senior femininities and senior masculinities.

This paper aims to illustrate the research path and methodological aspects of the study of sexual normativity with reference to a specific population of the LGBTQ+ universe, namely binary and non-binary transgender people in the Italian context through the analysis and historical reconstructions of the path of gender afirmation, in daily life and in the narrative proposed by the main old media. The decision to orient the focus of the analysis on transnormativity is related to the observation of an important research gap present in the scholarly literature, which has so far analyzed the processes of the construction of sexual normativity in mainstream society - and, as a result, has produced several studies and theorizing on heteronormativity and the male homosexual population (or homonormativity) - while conspicuously leaving out noncisgenderist sexual identies (transgender, genderfluid, agender, etc.). Following up on these premises, specifically, the following research questions were set: what are the reference gender models that guide and direct the identity construction of transgender people? And what are those of binary and non-binary people? how do these models reflect aspects atributable to mainstream sexual normativity (mainly heteronormativity and cisgenderism) furthermore, what diefrences are evident among these reference models in relation to various socio-demographic and identity aspects (how do they vary according to age, educational qualification, gender identity status, and sexual orientation). In order to try to answer the questions of the research design, a survey was conducted, using a biographical approach, through the administration of semi-structured interviews with privileged witnesses working in the field of gender reafirmation pathways in the medical, clinical and legal fields, in order to reconstruct the chronological and cultural stages of the construction of transnormativity from the enactment of State Law 164/1982 to the present day. In contrast to this perspective, new, increasingly fluid, complex, and diefrentiated demands are emerging, which have generated debate on the one hand and tension both with mainstream society and within the LGBTQ+ community on the other. Opis:
The works of Simone de Beauvoir – an intellectual writer, an icon of feminism, and a representative of existentialism – explore the issues of gender identity and femininity. This article reflects on the writings of the author, which reveal the otherness of a woman who asserts her right to be present in culture. Her works also stress independence and autonomy. Beauvoir’s largely autobiographical texts express a search for identity by a woman with strong social and political commitments, who fought against injustice, intolerance, and wars, defending the rights of women and the human dignity. Through her critique of the bourgeoisie Beauvoir manifested her need for freedom, identified with her occupation. Aware of the limitations attributed to her sex, Beauvoir draws the portrait of a courageous woman with unrestricted identity. These works remain valid even outside the academic discourse owing to their constant emphasis on creation, independence, and individualism as well as revealing exposures. Self-creation provides an interesting perspective on today’s humanities and inspires women’s writing in the 21st century.

Wprowadzenie: W ostatnich latach notuje się wśród adolescentów i preadolescentów w wielu krajach, także w Polsce, silny wzrost liczby przypadków zaburzenia diagnozowanego jako dysforia płciowa. To problem nie tylko medyczny i psychoterapeutyczny, lecz także poważne wyzwanie pedagogiczne. Cel badań: Celem badań jest rozpoznanie i zanalizowanie rodzaju potrzeb i wyzwań pedagogicznych stwarzanych dla nauczycieli i wychowawców przez dysforię płciową u ich podopiecznych w wieku preadolescencyjnym i adolescencyjnym. Stan wiedzy: Badania zjawiska i problemu w Polsce są nieliczne, takowe są natomiast prowadzone w innych państwach, zwłaszcza w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Ich wyniki mogą być zastosowane do antycypacji wyzwań stających przed pedagogami polskimi. Podsumowanie: Zaburzenie to jest w większości przypadków przejściowe, ale nie mniej groźne, gdyż samobójstwa, samookaleczenia i inne formy zaburzeń zachowania u osób dotkniętych tą przypadłością są wielokrotnie częstsze niż w całej populacji. Główne wyzwanie pedagogiczne to udzielona im pomoc w przejściu tej fazy rozwoju i uniknięciu dyskryminacji ze strony rówieśników. Zadaniem pedagogicznym nie jest natomiast przygotowywanie do tranzycji ani udzielanie pomocy w doprowadzeniu do niej.
Introduction: In recent years in many countries, including Poland, there has been recorded a strong increase in the number of cases of disorders, diagnosed as gender dysphoria, among adolescents and preadolescents. This is not only a serious medical and psychotherapeutic problem, but also a pedagogical challenge. Research Aim: Research aim is to recognize and analyse needs and challenges generated for educators and preceptors by gender dysphoria that occurs in their preadolescent and adolescent pupils. Evidence-based Facts: There are not many evidence-based facts about gender dysphoria in Poland, but there are some of them in other countries, particularly in the USA. Their results can be used to anticipate the challenges faced by Polish educators. Summary: This disorder is in many cases temporary and transient, but very dangerous, because suicides, self harms and other kinds of behavioral disturbance among children and young people with this syndrome are several times more frequent than in the entire population. A main pedagogical challenge is to help them get through this growth phase and avoid discrimination by their peers. However, neither preparation for the transition nor providing assistance in bringing about the transition are pedagogical tasks.

Artykuł osadzony jest w teoretycznej ramie socjologii feministycznej i transgender studies. Autorka odnosi się do problematyki transpłciowości w kontekście socjalizacji płciowej jako procesu realnie wpływającego na diagnozowanie transpłciowości, a także na przebieg życia, w tym na zainteresowania i wybory zawodowe osób transpłciowych. Tekst powstał w oparciu o wyniki analizy 18 wywiadów narracyjnych z transpłciowymi kobietami. W pierwszej części przedstawiono kwestie socjalizacji, socjalizacjipłciowej, tożsamości płciowej oraz transpłciowości, w nawiązaniu do podstawowych stanowisk teoretycznych. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono zjawisku passingu – termin ten funkcjonuje zarówno w żargonie osób transpłciowych, jak i w literaturze naukowej. W drugiej części tekstu ukazano wyniki analiz, dotyczących znaczenia przeciwnej do płci odczuwanej socjalizacji płciowej oraz stosunku transpłciowych kobiet do ról płciowych, w szczególności do idei passingu.
The article is set in the theoretical framework of feminist sociology and transgender studies. The author addresses the issue of transgender identity in the context of gender socialisation understood as a process which has real impact on the diagnosis of transgenderism, as well as on the life trajectory, including interests and career choices of transgender people. The article is based on the results of a close analysis of 18 narrative interviews with transgender women. In the first part the author interrogates such issues as: socialisation, gender socialisation, gender identity, and transgenderism. Particular attention will be paid to the phenomenon of passing – a term which functions both in the jargon of transgender people and in scientific literature. The second part of the article demonstrates the results of studies concerning the meaning of socialisation to the gender assigned at birth and transgender women’s attitudes towards gender roles, in particular towards the idea of passing.

This article presents an analysis of a fragment of a larger study on transgender individuals. In this study, the authors focused exclusively on the experience of gender incongruence; the conflict between gender identity and the gender conferred at birth. In order to clearly explain the scope of this study, the first part of the article presents transgender theories, and those related to identity and gender identity. The second part of the article presents strategies for combatting gender incongruence. These are developed on the basis of the collected empirical material, and through consideration of evidence concerning whether gender incongruence had a significant impact on the formation of the personal and social identity of transgender individuals. The research was based on a qualitative approach, with the main technique employed being a free-form interview. The research was performed throughout the whole of Poland.
W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wyniki analizy fragmentu większych badań nad transpłciowością, obejmujących dzieciństwo transpłciowego dziecka, ujawnienie swojej właściwej tożsamości płciowej rodzinie i bliskim, otrzymane wsparcie lub jego brak, przebieg terapii hormonalnej, zabiegów chirurgicznych, procesu sądowego etc. W niniejszym artykule autorki koncentrują się wyłącznie na prezentacji wyników analizy dotyczącej doświadczenia niezgodności płci – konfliktu między tożsamością płciową a płcią przypisaną przy urodzeniu, a zatem przedmiotem analizy uczyniły opinie, wypowiedzi osób transpłciowych doświadczających niezgodności płci. W trosce o czytelność podjętej problematyki w pierwszej części przedstawione zostały stanowiska teoretyczne związane z transpłciowością, tożsamością oraz tożsamością płciową. W drugiej zaś zaprezentowane zostały strategie radzenia sobie z niezgodnością płciową, opracowane przez badaczki na podstawie zgromadzonego materiału empirycznego. Autorki w prezentacji wyników analizy uwzględniły odpowiedzi na pytania, czy niezgodność płciowa miała znaczący wpływ na kształtowanie się tożsamości osobistej i społecznej osób transpłciowych, uczestniczących w badaniu. Metodologia badania, procedura badawcza oraz analiza osadzone zostały w podejściu jakościowym. Główną techniką był wywiad swobodny ukierunkowany. Teren badań obejmował całą Polskę – w badaniu uczestniczyło 16 osób.

The paper presents the concept of masculinity within the non-binary and multilayered model of gender/sex traits. Within that model, masculinity is not a simple idea, but rather is fragmented into many traits in diverse clusters. The experience of transgender men and men with intersex traits suggests that self-determined male gender identity is a mega trait that is sufficient for being a man. However, masculinity is not only psychological, as the content of the psychological feeling of being a man refers to social norms about how men should be and behave. And male coded traits are described as traits that frequently occur within the group of people identifying as men. Therefore, I claim that there are two interdependent ideas in the concept of masculinity: the self-determined male gender identity (first-person perspective) and a cluster of traits coded as male (third-person perspective). Within non-binary model the interplay between the two interdependent ideas allows to include borderline masculinities.

Opis:
The article contains arguments raised in Polish discussion on the problem of sexual orientation and gender identity as penalizing criteria of hate speech. The Author points out regulations of Polish criminal law providing conditions of criminal responsibility for hate speech and binding criteria of the penalization, draft amendments in this area presented in recent years, as well as Polish legal doctrine or Supreme Court reviews referred to the issue. The background of the analyzes are provisions of international and European law as well as selected European states.

Opis:
Transseksualizm definiowany jest jako zakłócenie identyfikacji płciowej, które polega na rozbieżności między psychicznym poczuciem przynależności do danej płci a biologiczną budową ciała, płcią metrykalną, socjalną oraz prawną. Ponieważ nie istnieje metoda, która pozwoliłaby na dopasowanie identyfikacji płciowej do ciała człowieka, oddziaływanie leczniczo-terapeutyczne koncentruje się na odwrotnym zabiegu: dostosowuje cielesność do wykazywanej tożsamości płciowej. Wskazuje się, że osoby transseksualne są więźniami własnych ciał – transseksualni mężczyźni cierpią w ciele kobiecym, transseksualne kobiety – w ciele męskim, co niejednokrotnie wiąże się z odrzuceniem swojego ciała, niechęcią do niego, awersją do zewnętrznych narządów płciowych. Proces korekty płci przebiega wielopłaszczyznowo, obejmując wieloaspektową diagnostykę, prawną zmianę danych osobowych, kurację hormonalną oraz zabiegi operacyjne. Osoby transseksualne są narażone na wiele skutków ubocznych kuracji hormonalnych oraz komplikacji pooperacyjnych. Wskazuje się również, że medyczny proces korekty płci skraca czas przeżycia od kilkunastu do kilkudziesięciu lat. W niniejszym artykule zostanie przedstawiona tematyka cielesności oraz stanu zdrowia osób transseksualnych. Autor dokona analizy odpowiedzi dotyczących oceny własnego ciała oraz stanu zdrowia udzielonych przez 16 osób transseksualnych, które wzięły udział w badaniu. Analizy są początkiem szerzej zakrojonych badań nad różnorodnymi aspektami zaburzeń tożsamości płciowej.
Transsexualism is defined as a disturbance of gender identity, which is based on the discrepancy between mental sense of belonging to a particular gender and biological physique, sex by register, social, and legal. Since there is no method that would allow the matching of gender identity to the human body, the impact of healing-therapeutic focus is on the opposite treatment: adjusts physicality to that demonstrated gender identity. This indicates that transgender people are prisoners of their own bodies-transgender men suffer in the body of the female, transsexual women – in the male body, which often involves the rejection of his body, aversion to him, averse to external genitals. The process of gender reassignment takes place on many levels, including a multi-faceted diagnosis, a legal change of personal data, hormone treatment and surgery. Transgender people are exposed to many side effects of hormone treatment and post-operative complications. Also it indicates that medical gender reassignment process reduces the survival of a dozen to several dozen years. In this paper will be presented subjects of corporeality and the health of transgender people. The author will analyze the answers for the assessment of one’s own body and health status granted by 16 transgender people who participated in the study. They are the beginning of more extensive research on various aspects of gender identity disorders.
