Artykuł dotyczy projektu „Piłkarzy(n)ki” ‒ queerowo-feministycznej interwencji artystycznej i obiektu do gry stworzonego z lokalną społecznością Poznania. Projekt ten powstał w wyniku dwuletnich badań etnograficznych (2016−2018) na temat marginalizacji żeńskiego futbolu w Polsce. Korzystam w nim z metodologii i teorii antropologii zaangażowanej (Scheper-Hughes 1995) oraz badań w działaniu jako sztuki ze społecznością (Červinková 2012; Bishop 2015; Rakowski 2018), poddając jednocześnie te nurty krytycznemu namysłowi. Artykuł pokazuje, jak inicjatywa łącząca badanie oraz działanie pomaga w uchwyceniu głosu dyskryminowanych piłkarek. Opisany projekt jest odpowiedzią na binarny podział płci w futbolu, symboliczną przemoc (Bourdieu, Wacquant 2001) oraz bezpodstawną degradację, której doświadczyły zawodniczki żeńskiej drużyny klubu Kotwica Kórnik. W tekście stawiam tezę, że piłka nożna to społeczna soczewka, która pokazuje, jak ukształtowany jest porządek płci naszego społeczeństwa.
The article concerns the author’s “Foosball Figurines” project – a queer-feminist art intervention and a game facility created with the local community in Poznań. The project emerged following a two-years-long ethnographic research (2016-2018) about the marginalization of female football in Poland. I applied the methodology and theory of engaged anthropology (Scheper-Hughes 1995) as well as action research perceived as community arts (Červinková 2012; Bishop 2015; Rakowski 2018), simultaneously subjecting these research trends to critical reflection. This article shows how an initiative that combines research and action helps to capture the voices of discriminated soccer players. This project is a response to the binary gender division and inequality in football, the symbolic violence (Bourdieu, Wacquant 2001), and the unjustified degradation experienced by the female soccer players of the Kotwica Kórnik club. In the paper herein, I put forward the thesis that football is a social lens that shows how the gender order within the Polish society is shaped.

Producing a category] points out to the huge demand for modern academic works concerning transgender issues, letting the audience, also not-academic, to be provided with recent writings on it. It also emphasizes the need to set language standards concerning this still often misunderstood topic, and the uniqueness of the author’s approach, which focuses on the social production of the category of transgender.

The following lines of further research are anticipated: the family as a small domestic church, the principles of the religious education of children in the family, and the family as a place of vocational disclosure. The conclusions of this theoretical study are presented.

The Divine Revelation is the point of reference for the antropology of moral theology, so from this perspective - from perspective of anthropology of moral theology - human sexuality is a gift and is a challenge. It is a specific vocation placed in God’s plan for man. However, femininity and masculinity as a “two ways of being a body” are not understood as clear as before in the contemporary world. Gender ideology, which has become increasingly popular, tries to redefine human sexuality, separating the biological from the cultural dimension. The article presents main ideas of gender ideology and compares them with the vision of anthropology of moral theology. The article also tries to show the impossibility of agreement between a two extreme positions and points to the importance of problem.

The paper addresses some of the ways in which anthropology, as a discourse and a discipline, has contributed to the forging as much as of the problematisation of the concept of gender, not only within the feminist, queer and LGBTQI camps, but also among Catholic fundamentalists. It argues that, despite some recent genealogical critiques of the concept of gender and its origins in mid-20th century bio-medical governance, insufficient attention has been paid to the role of the so-called ‘savage slot’ - as Rolph Trouillot defined the domain of knowledge carved out for anthropology, in a wider scheme of thought that has its origins at the same time as ‘the West’ became a reality. A more thorough genealogy of the ways in which anthropological thinking and evidence contributed to the construction, and then the deconstruction, of gender, can provide fruitful tools for a deeper challenge of the apparatus of gender itself.

Prawda nigdy nie przestanie fascynować człowieka, gdyż przeczuwa on, że jest ona gwarantem wolności. Tylko w świetle prawdy (przez prawdziwe poznani) można stwierdzić, że jest się autentycznie wolnym. Zarówno doświadczenie empiryczne jak i ludzka intuicja potwierdzają ewangeliczną maksymę o wolności płynącej z poznania prawdy: „Poznacie prawdę a prawda was wyzwoli” (J 8,32). W artykule autor poszukuje odpowiedzi na pytanie o „prawdę płci”. Odpowiedź na to pytanie jest bardzo ważna zwłaszcza w kontekście ideologii gender. Czy istnieją jedynie kulturowe interpretacje płci, czy też istnieje „prawda płci” jak coś wpisanego w naturę osoby, coś uprzedniego wobec ludzkiego poznania i ludzkiej woli? Pytamy zatem, czy prawda płci jest odkrywana czy może, jak twierdzą niektórzy, tworzona?
Truth never ceases to fascinate man because he has intuition that it is a guarantee of freedom. Only in the light of truth (through true knowledge) we can say that we are authentically free. Both empirical experience and human intuition confirm the gospel maxim of the truth: "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). The author of this paper seeks answers to the question of “the truth about gender”. This is a very important question, especially in the context of gender ideology. Are there only cultural gender interpretations, or is there a "gender truth" like something inscribed in the nature of a person, something prior to human cognition and human will? So we ask whether the truth about gender is discovered or maybe, as some people say, created?

Na przestrzeni ostatnich lat obserwuje się szczególny wzrost zainteresowania problematyką koncepcji płci. Dotyczy on zwłaszcza zagadnień związanych z płcią kulturową, którą określa się jako gender. Jej podstawowym założeniem jest uznanie płci za jedynie konstrukt społeczno-kulturowy, a co za tym idzie – redukcja całego człowieka do tego wymiaru. W kontekście coraz bardziej upowszechnianej dziś koncepcji kulturowej warto sięgnąć do klasycznej koncepcji płci, ukształtowanej na gruncie polskim szczególnie przez antropologów personalistycznych, takich jak K. Wojtyła, A. Krąpiec czy W. Chudy. W niniejszym artykule została podjęta próba uchwycenia istoty klasycznej i kulturowej koncepcji płci oraz porównania obu. Koncepcje te – jak się okazuje – niosą ważne implikacje dla wychowania, a koncepcja klasyczna może stanowić swoiste „lekarstwo” na zamęt wywołany popularyzacją gender.
Over recent years there has been a rising interest in the concept of gender. In particular, it relates to issues of cultural gender, which is determined as “gender”. Its basic premise is to recognize gender only as a socio-cultural construct, and consequently to reduce human being to this dimension. In context of this more and more common cultural concept, it is worth to refer to the classical concept of gender, formed on the basis of Polish personalistic anthropologists such as K. Wojtyla, A. Krąpiec or W. Chudy. In this article an attempt is made to capture the essence of classical and cultural concepts of gender and to compare them. These concepts – as it turns out – carry important implications for education and classical concept can be a kind of “cure” for the confusion caused by popularization of “gender”.

The author attempts to answer the question about the ontic basis of human sexuality: Is sexuality an indispensable element of being human, or is it just an element of human cultural diversity? In his search for an answer, he applies the structure of the medieval quaestiones disputatae including objections, counter-objections, solutions and responses to objections. In his discussion of solutions, the author refers first and foremost to the metaphysical method (which consists in pointing out the objective factors that ultimately explain the examined fact of human sexuality), but also to theological and neurological methods. The whole of the analysis is aimed at proving that the human soul is inherently sexual and, therefore, that being a man or a woman is a proper mode of the existence of a human person.

The subject of this article is a reflection on the bonds between the sex of a shaman and the concepts of gender prevailing in the culture in which we meet male and female shamans. Based on notions of differentiation of sexes among shamans, widespread in scientific and popular science literature, the author’s intention is to show intercultural conditionality of the position of female and male shamans. The presented analysis concentrates not so much on the discursive attitude towards the discussed topic as on the examination of social practices presenting functioning of gender in the studied culture. The article is based on the field study of the author and the group of researchers, consisting of both women and men, the latter which is an important context for the executed analysis. These considerations contribute to methodological thought within social anthropology. They may also be of use to anyone interested in intercultural comparisons within sociology and related areas of social studies.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest refleksja nad powiązaniem między płcią szamana czy też szamanki a koncepcjami płci kulturowej, które obowiązują w kulturze, w której spotykamy się z szamankami i szamanami. Wychodząc od rozpowszechnionych w literaturze naukowej oraz popularnonaukowej przekonań na temat zróżnicowania płci wśród szamanów autor stara się pokazać wewnątrzkulturowe uwarunkowania pozycji szamanek i szamanów. Prezentowana analiza skupia się nie tyle na dyskursywnym podejściu do omawianej problematyki, ale na badaniu praktyk społecznych pokazujących funkcjonowanie płci kulturowej w kulturze badanej. Artykuł opiera się na badaniach terenowych autora prowadzonych wraz z zespołem badaczy, w którego skład wchodziły zarówno kobiety jak i mężczyźni, co jest ważnym kontekstem dla przeprowadzonej analizy. Rozważania stanowią przyczynek do refleksji metodologicznej w ramach antropologii społecznej, ale mogą być pomocne również osobom zainteresowanym porównaniami międzykulturowymi w ramach socjologii i pokrewnych dziedzin nauk społecznych.

Edith Stein reflected the sex-gender-problem early in the 1920s and found a ballance between biological, psychological and sociological influences on the person. The meaning of the difference between the sexes is giving live, but the biological state - from a Christian perspective - does not compulsorily lead a woman to become a mother and a man to become a father. In the redemptional order established by Jesus Christ there is the possibility to stay celebate and overcome the natural border between the sexes in developping character traits as a woman that were formerly associated with men and vice versa. The live forms of marriage and celebacy are equally valuable. That leaves an open space in the discussion of compulsory heterosexuality, so that one does not have to devaluate two-gender-normativity nor does one have to automatically follow biological presuppositions.

Modern and Post-Modern discourse espouses a subjective understanding of gender. As a result, confusing new problems erupt in discussions as practical as marriage and as theoretical as questions of human meaning and purpose. Catholic theology, drawing primarily from the personalistic approach to gender contained in Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, provides a consistent account of gender that is also compatible with the best evidence available in support of a purely rational approach. A defense of this approach could lead to a better understanding of ourselves and our relationships, to the betterment of culture as a whole.

This paper concerns three significant concepts in Maria Komornicka’s writings: body, spirit and gender. The first two are closely related to each other, thus initial paragraphs are devoted to them both. On the basis of these reflections, I draw some conclusion about the image of gender created by the poet. The notion of gender is analysed in terms of Young Poland discourse of gender and from the perspective of modern methodologies: feminist criticism as well as gender and queer studies. This paper aims at encouraging the reader to reinterpret M. Komornicka’s output with contemporary awareness.

The anthropological and ethical disputes in some conservative Catholic circles often refer to the problem of gender equality, particularly in the educational process. They lead to a confrontation between traditional communities, on the one hand, and on the other hand, open or liberal ones. In this context, the article aims to indicate (1) the anthropological and ethical foundations of the education based on the principle of gender equality, and (2) educational demands that result from it. Further, (3) these fundamentals will be scrutinised against Catholic anthropological and ethical criticism.
Dyskusje antropologiczne i etyczne w pewnych konserwatywnych środowiskach katolickich często odnoszą się do problemu równości płciowej, zwłaszcza w procesie wychowawczym. Prowadzą one do konfrontacji pomiędzy wspólnotami tradycyjnymi i bardziej liberalnymi. W tym kontekście artykuł zmierza do wskazania (1) antropologicznych i etycznych podstaw wychowania opartego na zasadzie równości płciowej oraz (2) postulatów wychowawczych, które z nich wynikają. Następnie (3) te zasadnicze kwestie zostaną skonfrontowane z katolicką krytyką antropologiczną i etyczną.

Opis:
Teoria gender, rozwijająca się w naukach społecznych od połowy XX wieku, wyrosła ponad dyskurs akademicki i stała się kategorią polityczną. Przez zwolenników przedstawiana jest jako narzędzie przeciwdziałania przemocy wobec kobiet oraz realizowania zasady równości płci na wszystkich płaszczyznach egzystencji. Analiza kluczowych postulatów gender za pomocą wypracowanej przez R. Putnama oraz F. Fukuyamę teorii kapitału społecznego prowadzi do odmiennych wniosków. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wybranych kosztów ponoszonych przez społeczeństwo w wyniku wdrażania postulatów teorii gender w programy polityczne, ekonomiczne i edukacyjne. Artykuł przedstawia najważniejsze kryteria tej teorii, jej analizę z perspektywy socjologicznej, antropologicznej oraz apologię katolicką wobec głównych jej założeń.
The theory of gender, growing in the social sciences since the mid- twentieth century, grew more than academic discourse becoming a political category. By supporters is presented as a tool to combat violence against women and to implement the principle of gender equality at all levels of existence. Analysis of the key demands of gender using, developed by Robert Putnam and Francis Fukuyama, theory of social capital leads to different conclusions. The purpose of this article is to present some of the costs incurred by society as a result of the implementation of the demands of gender in political programs, economic and educational. This paper presents the most important criteria of this theory, the analysis from the perspective of sociological, anthropological and Catholic apology against major assumptions.
