Opis:
Main trends of perfection of gas-turbine engines (GTE) of transport plants by application of principles of the cascade pressure exchange (CPE) for air compression in the working cycle of gas-turbine plant have been analyzed. The principle of action and performances of work of heat compressor CPE realizing compression of working body on the whole at the expense straight convert inputting heat in disposing work of torrent with insignificant distraction mechanics work from shaft selection of power has been described. The results of computational investigation of four variants of the GTE working process organization on the basis of the two-staged compression assembly with intermediate cooling and heating of air-gas medium have been adduced. Application of units CPE in the capacity of compressing stage GTE opens the prospect of adaptations GTE performance by conditions of work in the capacity of forcing units of overland transport.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza efektywności chłodzenia silnika elektrycznego w zależności od zastosowanego wariantu konstrukcyjnego. Obliczenia przepływu powietrza przez silnik zostały przeprowadzone dla różnych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych a uzyskane wyniki mogą być przydatne zarówno w diagnostyce silników elektrycznych jak i projektowaniu układów chłodzących.
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the cooling efficiency of an electric motor depending on the design solution made with use of Autodesk Simulation CFD 2012 computing system. For all analyses the same conditions were assumed: losses in the device 250W, the ambient temperature 20°C, the operating time at full load 40 minutes. Fig. 1 in Section 2 presents the simplified object modeled for the analysis. Simulations for two types of fan (see Fig. 2) were performed for this design solution. Section 3 presents sample analysis results (Figs. 3 and 4) and comparison of the minimum and maximum temperature on the body for I and II type of the fan (Fig. 5). A new design with a modified casing is proposed and shown in Fig. 6. The analytical results for this solution are presented in Figs. 7 and 8. The chart in Fig. 9 shows the comparison of the temperature distribution along the electric motor body before and after the change of casing. The results of analyses show that more efficient is the axial fan (type II), however, the biggest temperature drop is obtained by extension and change of the body casing shape. The numerical simulations also helped to identify areas of operation temperatures which could have a destructive effect on the bearings, permanent magnets and other components as well as the efficiency of the device [1, 4].

In the paper, thermodynamic analysis of two modifications of the Brayton cycle into enhancement cycles with water or steam injection are discussed. The first one deals with a water injected gas turbine modified system with both interstage compressed air cooling and air heating (heat regeneration) before combustion chamber. The second one, mainly devoted to higher steam to air ratio, is connected with separate steam production in the heat recovery steam generator. Hence, steam utilization for the gas turbine propulsion in the Cheng cycle has been analysed. The analysis has been based on the computational flow mechanics (CFM) models of these advanced humidified systems, thanks to which, the influence of the main thermodynamic and design parameters have been examined.

Opis:
In the article the analysis of airflow through electrical motor was conducted and optimal design solution was chosen in order to increase cooling efficiency. Numerical simulations allow to determine the areas of temperature occurrence which may have destructive in-fluence on electrical motor parts and on its safe operation. The numerical calculations of airflow was carried out for two different types of fans as well as for two different housings. An analysis of the construction was carried out by CFD method using Autodesk Simulation CFD 2013. Community results of the analysis, we can conclude that the better solution for machines with fixed direction of rotation is to use in-stead of the radial the axial fan. For axial fan the motor temperature in the same condition was lower by about 5°C.

Celem pracy było określenie wpływu schładzania obornika w kojcu z głęboką ściółką, poprzez zastosowanie instalacji do odzysku ciepła, na emisję zanieczyszczeń gazowych (NH3, N2O oraz CH4) z tuczarni. Badania porównawcze przeprowadzono w budynku dla trzody chlewnej utrzymywanej na głębokiej ściółce, wyposażonym w instalację do odzysku ciepła, w okresie jednego roku. Górnym źródłem były instalacje c.o. (centralne ogrzewanie) i c.w.u. (ciepła woda użytkowa) budynku mieszkalnego. W pracy wykazano, że między ilością pobranego ciepła a procentową emisją zanieczyszczeń gazowych (NH3, N2O, CH4) istnieje korelacja (p<0,05). Zależności te opisano logarytmicznymi krzywymi regresji: y = 10,8ln(x) - 26,2 (R2=0,83) dla amoniaku, y = 11,5ln(x) - 28,8 (R2=0,9) dla podtlenku azotu oraz y = 6,9ln(x) - 13,4 (R2=0,7) dla metanu. Schładzanie obornika w kojcu z głęboką ściółką poprzez zastosowanie instalacji do odzysku ciepła zmniejsza emisję gazów szkodliwych średnio o 15,7% dla NH3, o 16,2% dla N2O oraz o 12,1% dla CH4.
The objective of the paper was estimation of the impact of cooling manure in a pigpen with deep bedding through the use of the heat recovery installation on emission of gas pollution (NH3, N2O andCH4) from the fattening house. The research was carried out in the building for pigs maintained in deep bedding equipped with the heat recovery installation within one year. Central heating and utility hot water installations of a residential building constituted the upper source. The paper presents that between the amount of the collected heat and percentage emission of gas pollutions (NH3, N2O, CH4) there is a correlation (p<0.05). These relations were expressed with logarythmic regression curves: y = 10.8ln(x) - 2.2 (R2=0.83) for ammonia, y = 11.5ln(x) – 28.8 (R2=0.9) for nitrous oxide and y = 6.9ln(x) – 13.4 (R2=0.7) for methane. Cooling manure in a pigpen with deep bedding through the use of the heat recovery installation reduced emission of harmful gases at the average by 15.7% for NH3, and 16.2% for N2O and by 12.1% for CH4.

Zastosowano część oprogramowania z pakietu SmartProcess dostarczanego przez Emerson. Pakiet użyto w dwóch elektrowniach, jako uzupełnienie rozproszonego systemu sterowania Ovation.

In the article, an innovative method of space heating and cooling in small and medium sized enterprises is presented. Principles of the gas heat pump technology (GHP), its advantages and influence, limiting the impact on the natural environment, as well as decreasing primary fuel resources and reducing costs of using the energy in enterprises are discussed. Various types of locations, where presented technology gives results, are indicated.
W artykule przedstawiono innowacyjną metodę zaopatrywania w energię cieplną i elektryczną małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw. Omówiono zasady mikrokogeneracji gazowej MCHP XRGI, jej zalety, wpływ na ograniczenie oddziaływania na środowisko naturalne oraz ograniczenie kosztów użytkowania energii w przedsiębiorstwach. Przedstawiono również instrumenty wsparcia dla inwestorów oraz użytkowników instalacji z wykorzystaniem MCHP XRGI.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of cooling deep litter in a pen for pigs by using the heat recovery system on greenhouse gases and ammonia emission from piggery and residential building. The research was carried out in farm located in Wielkopolska Voivodeship, where the heat recovery system from deep litter was installed. Fermenting manure stored on the floor of piggery was the heat source and central heating, domestic hot water system in residential building were the heat sink. Cooling manure in deep litter pen for pigs resulted in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from piggery by about: 11,424 kg•yr-1 (12,1%) for CH4, 662 kg•yr-1 for N2O (16,2%) and 3,532 kg for NH3 (15,7%). The use of heat re-covered from the deep litter to supply central heating and domestic hot water system in residential building reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 7,377 kg•yr-1 (35%). Weighted average reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the researched farm, taking into account the mass of each gas was 13.7%.
Celem pracy było określenie wpływu schładzania obornika w kojcu z głęboką ściółką przez zastosowanie instalacji do odzysku ciepła z głębokiej ściółki na emisję gazów cieplarnianych i amoniaku z tuczarni oraz budynku mieszkalnego. Badania prowadzono na terenie gospodarstwa rolnego, zlokalizowanego w województwie wielkopolskim, w którym zamontowano instalację do odzysku ciepła. Głównym źródłem były instalacje centralnego ogrzewania i ciepłej wody użytkowej budynku mieszkalnego. Schładzanie obornika w kojcu z głęboką ściółką przez zastosowanie instalacji do odzysku ciepła spowodowało ograniczenie emisji gazów cieplarnianych z tuczarni: CH4 o 11424 kg•rok-1 (12,1%) i N2O o 662 kg•rok-1 (16,2%) oraz amoniaku (NH3) o 3532 kg rocznie (15,7%). Wykorzystanie ciepła pobranego z głębokiej ściółki do zasilania instalacji c.o. i c.w.u. budynku mieszkalnego ograniczyło emisję dwutlenku węgla o 7377 kg•rok-1, czyli o 35%. Średnia redukcja emisji gazów cieplarnianych z badanego gospodarstwa, uwzględniając ich udział ilościowy, wynosiła 13,7%.

Opis:
Welding with micro-jet cooling after was tested only for MIG and MAG processes. For micro-jet gases was tested only argon, helium and nitrogen. A paper presents a piece of information about gas mixtures for micro-jet cooling after in welding. There are put down information about gas mixtures that could be chosen both for MAG welding and for micro-jet process. There were given main information about influence of various micro-jet gas mixtures on metallographic structure of steel welds. Mechanical properties of weld was presented in terms of various gas mixtures selection for micro-jet cooling.
Chłodzenie mikro-jetowe było stosowane tylko w spawalniczym procesie MIG i MAG, gdzie gazem osłonowym były tylko argon, hel i azot. W artykule przedstawiono informacje na temat wykorzystania mieszanek gazowych do chłodzenia mikro-jetowego. Podano informacje zarówno dla gazów, które mogą być wybrane dla spawania MAG i dla mikro-jetowego procesu. Uzyskano informacje o wpływie doboru mieszanek gazowych do chłodzenia mikro-jetowego na strukturę metalograficzną stalowych spoin. Własności mechaniczne złącza podano dla złączy wykonanych różnymi mieszankami gazowymi.

The water cooled exhaust systems are not often used onboard ships. Prime goal is to lower temperature of exhaust gas from main propulsion and auxiliary engines to the defined limit. The design of such systems require detailed analysis of propulsion system operational parameters to meet designer expectations. The paper outlines the cooled exhaust system design problems in specific application. The simplified method of evaluation of expected cooling water flow requirements has been developed. Based on marine diesel engines test bench data, the results of short analysis of cooling water demand for two different diesel engines are presented. A simplified engineering approach may be useful for assessment of exhaust gas cooling system performance in commercial application like rescue vessels wet exhaust design or exhaust gas cleaning systems.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z badaniem odporności gazomierzy na ujemne temperatury. Opisano krótko wymagania norm oraz specyfikacji zharmonizowanych z dyrektywą MID, a także przebieg testów temperaturowych, jakie powinien przejść gazomierz przed wprowadzeniem na rynek. W dalszej części przedstawiono wyniki przeprowadzonych testów systemów chłodzenia, umożliwiających doprowadzenie do badanego gazomierza powietrza o wymaganej temperaturze.
The article discusses issues related to the testing of gas meters resistance to negative temperatures. The requirements of standards and specifications harmonized with the MID Directive have been briefly described, as well as the temperature tests to be carried out by the gas meter before being placed on the market. In the following part, are presented, the results of the tests of cooling systems which enable air of the required temperature to be brought to the tested gas meter.

The typical combined heat and power plants requires the introduction of additional heating medium. The alternative solution is the direct integration of the exhaust gases from heat engine. The high temperature, surplus oxygen and low water content of the GTs exhaust gases enabled the successful integration at industrial scale as: preheated combustion air for industrial furnaces, heat source for drying and for absorption chillers. The article comprises the reference list for direct exhaust gas integration of GTs produced by GE, the processes overview, GTs selection criteria, as well as the review of documented GTs applications in process industry focusing on technical and economic considerations. The described solutions allowed to reduce the specific energy consumption in the range from 7 to 20% or the costs of energy consumption by 15-30%. The overall efficiency of cogeneration plant above 90% was achieved. The preliminary assessment of potential applications for GTs produced by GE with TEG integration in Polish process industry is done.

The paper presents the methodology of the analysis of the cooling system reconstruction in a food cold store under the regulations applicable from the beginning of 2020. They result from the so-called the F-Gas Act concerns the use of refrigerants with a low environmental impact. First, the elements of the existing regulations on the use of refrigerants were discussed. This part of article focus mainly on the F-Gas Act and the regulations it entails. Then, the refrigerants used so far in refrigeration systems were compared with substitutes, which were the only ones that have been approved for use since 2020, thanks to the low GWP index. Their properties are briefly described, along with the benefits (primarily for the environment) of their use. The main part of the work is the analysis of the reconstruction of the cooling system to use an alternative refrigerant. During the work, the construction of the cold storage was analyzed together with the system currently working in analysed location. Then, the heat balance was calculated, thanks to which it was possible to determine the demand for cold. Than, several refrigerants that meet the latest standards and application regulations were selected. Their operating parameters were examined, the possible variants of use were compared in relation to the determined demand for cooling and the most important operational features were summarized.

The major effects of cylindrical and row trenched cooling holes with angles of alpha=30, beta=0, alpha=40, beta=0 and alpha=50, beta=0 at BR=3.18 on the effectiveness of film cooling near the combustor end wall surface is an important subject to study in detail. In the current study, researchers used a FLUENT package 16/11 to simulate a 3-D model of a Pratt and Whitney gas turbine engine. In this research, RNG turbulence model K-ε model was used to analyze the flow behavior on the passage ways of internal cooling. In the combustor simulator, the dilution jets and cooling flow staggered in the streamwise direction and aligned in the spanwise direction as well. In comparison with the baseline case of cooling holes, the application of trenched hole near the end wall surface increased the effectiveness of film cooling up to 100% for different trench cases.
