Opis:
The toponomastic scale of research interests covers the functional specificity of the onomastic components of macrotoponymy, microtoponymy, oronymy and hydronymy as specific language signs, reflecting various natural, economic and social phenomena. The categorical functionality of anthroponymy is realised in a three-part systemic set, a name-surname unit, which is occasionally complemented by a pseudonym component or a nickname. All areas of the country have a characteristic distribution of certain forms and provenance of personal names, illustrating also relevant social and ethnic phenomena as well as some background cultural aspects. The basic categorical component of zoonymy is folklore zoonymy, which is complemented by the so-called “urban zoonymy” (urbozoonymy) and by literary zoonymy. Chrematonymy as a set of names connected with various institutional names, companies, commerce and service facilities, as well as products, accumulates different functions, including persuasion and advertising. The onomastic models of cosmonymy are represented by a set of names from different sources, differentiating their official and local-dialect character.

Opis:
Despite its relatively small area European territory has many mountain ranges located in most of the countries. Land development in separate mountain ranges has a tendency to diversify. Not only is this phenomenon evident in regions with a great increase in agricultural, service sector, tourist and industrial functions, but also in regions which are agriculturally worthless and less economically valuable. Even though mountain areas in Europe are inhabited by more than 15% of population, the diversity of both particular countries and mountain ranges is large. Mountain areas, particularly in EU-15 countries, Switzerland and Norway, are as a rule poorly populated, while in Poland, Slovenia and Hungary these tendencies are disparate. Frequent phenomena facing mountain areas in Europe are an ageing of the local population and the rural depopulation. Mountains are of great significance for both the population and the diversity of continent's fauna and flora, besides, the natural resources of mountains are described as "the undervalued ecological backbone of Europe". The greatest value of mountains is attributed to their cultural diversity because mountainous areas are inhabited by numerous ethnic minorities differentiated by their culture, language, dialects and tradition. It should be noted that functions of mountains and their contribution to both the development and the living conditions of local population can be diversely classified. These functions, which include environmental, economical and socio-cultural ones, have been known for ages. They can also be divided into the green - connected with nature, the white - connected with health care, the blue - concerned with water and the yellow - concerned with life-span and economic development. Sustainability of strong demography units is the key precondition for the maintenance of natural and cultural richness, as well as for the economic significance of European mountains.

Opis:
The synthesis and degradation of (1→3)-β-glycosidic bonds between glucose moieties are essential metabolic processes in plant cell architecture and function. We have found that a unique, conserved cysteine residue, positioned outside the catalytic centre of potato endo-(1→3)-β-glucanase - product of the gluB20-2 gene, participates in determining the substrate specificity of the enzyme. The same residue is largely responsible for endo-(1→3)-β-glucanase inhibition by mercury ions. Our results confirm that the spatial adjustment between an enzyme and its substrate is one of the essential factors contributing to the specificity and accuracy of enzymatic reactions.

Opis:
Do dalszych prac zostaje wybrany model charakteryzujący się dużym stopniem dopasowania do danych eksperymentalnych, uwzględniający rzeczywiste zachowanie cieczy w odkształconej podatnie tętnicy.
The paper concerns the modeling of dynamic specificity of blood vessel. The simple physical models of blood vessel part were investigated. In the experiments a PPG signal was used. The optoelectronic sensors were installed on a wrist and forearm. After the acquisition, the obtained samples of the PPG signal were identified by the RLS method. As a result of the experiments the transfer function of the investigated blood vessel part was obtained. This transmittance is described with Eq. (4), and its step response is shown in Fig. 2. In the work two physical models are considered. The structures of these models are shown in Figs.1 and 3. The first one uses the phenomenon of suppressed oscillations, while the second one - the phenomenon of impact of the liquid wave. The transfer functions of the models are described by Eqs. (6) and (13), respectively. In the study compatibility between the obtained transfer function and the physical models was verified. The transfer function of blood vessel and the transfer functions of physical models were compared. Their step responses were compared, too. Finally, the correspondence between the second physical model and the transmittance of the blood vessel part was experimentally proved.
