Opis:
The article presents the amplitude measurement used in the diagnosis of hydraulic fluid leakage from the shock absorbers of passenger cars. Measures used to assess the distribution of the peak using the free vibration method with force extortion. To verify the results of study the FFT were used. In particular illustration of a random vibroacoustic process, acceleration of sprung mass for front and rear suspension, spectrum of acceleration of sprung mass for front suspension, larger differences of spectrum of acceleration of sprung mass for front suspension are presented in the paper. Analysis results of the of the peak and ofthe spectrum for the front suspension with losses of shock absorber fluid show decrease in amplitudes of vibrations corresponding increase in shock absorber fluid. Asymmetry of the damping characteristics affects the differences in compression and tension of shock absorber. Spectral analysis is better measure then the study of period. For the rear shock absorbers, differences are smaller. This is due to difference in design of Fiat Seicento front and rear suspension). The presented method of diagnosis requires further study carried out on a large shocks absorbers population to their averaging and comparing test results using different testing methods and estimators and stochastic analysis of vibroacoustic signals.

Opis:
In this study, the hybrid approach of the Quadrature Element Method (QEM) has been employed to generate solutions for point supported isotropic plates. The Hybrid QEM technique consists of a collocation method with the Galerkin finite element technique to combine the high accurate and rapid converging of Differential Quadrature Method (DQM) for effi- cient solution of differential equations. To present the validity of the solutions, the results have been compared with other known solutions for point supported rectangular plates. In addition, different solutions are carried out for different type boundary conditions, different locations and number of point supports. Results for the first vibration modes of plates are also tested using a commercial finite element code, and it is shown that they are in good agreement with literature.

This paper proposes theoretical and numerical approaches to scrutinize the free vibration of orthogonal stiffened cylindrical shells. According to K´arman-Donnell shell theory, the total energy of the stiffened cylindrical shells is derived. Based on the principle of minimum potential energy, the eigenfunction related to the frequency is established and solved by developing a Matlab program. Analytical solutions of the natural frequency for free vibraion of the stiffened cylindrical shells are calculated and are verified against the finite element results from ABAQUS software. On account of the observations from the parametric study, an optimization scheme of the stiffeners is proposed.

Opis:
Free flexural vibration of a simply supported sandwich beam on an elastic foundation is the main purpose of the presented investigation. An analytical model of multi-layered beam on elastic foundation has been prepared. The authors submitted an original beam-foundation interaction model which based on variable parameters of the foundation and their influence on the beam response. This explanation leads to the possibility of continuous characterization of the beam-foundation interplay. A nonlinear mathematical function for symmetrical properties of the foundation has been adopted. The frequency equation as a function of geometric and mechanical properties of the beam and the parameters of the elastic foundation was derived using the Galerkin method. The analytical investigation has been divided into two parts: the analysis of elastic foundation with constant and variable properties. The unconventional shape function and the function of deflection have been introduced and employed. Moreover, the finite element analysis has been performed. Sample analytical and numerical calculations have been performed, demonstrating a good concurrence between both models. The difference between analytical and numerical values of the fundamental natural frequency did not exceed 0:5%.

In the numerical analysis of the eigen behaviour of large liquid and gas storage tanks, an important role is played by initial pre-stressing of such thin-walled structures due to high fluid pressure and gravity. In a majority of numerical simulations, the finite state of deformation is first calculated, following which small, linear vibrations are superimposed on the finite state. This paper is devoted to refinement and assessment of the basic Eckart superimposed eigencharacteristics problem simultaneously stated in fluid and thin-walled structures. Eckart's coupled approach leads to variational structure-fluid coupling in the so-called acoustic approximation. In order to verify the feasibility and correctness of the symmetrical Eckart approach, finite element discretization and a calculation example of a rectangular tank are presented. The calculated results are compared with literature ones.

Opis:
In this paper, a modified Fourier-Ritz method is used to study free vibration of a rectangular plate with a set of simply supported opposite sides and another set of arbitrary elastic constraints. The influence of different elastic constraint stiffness values on the modal response of the rectangular plate is also analyzed. In order to avoid that the displacement function of the rectangular plate calculated by the traditional method and its derivative may be discontinuous or non-derivable at the boundary, the displacement function is expressed in the form of the sum of standard cosine series and a periodic polynomial function. Compared with the sine series expansion, the convergence of the result is enhanced. Several sets of numerical examples with different boundary conditions are given in the article, the data shows that the results calculated by this method have good accuracy and fast convergence. In addition, this paper also analyzes the boundary conditions and discusses the influence of different spring stiffness values on the setting of boundary conditions. The results can be applied to the setting of general boundary conditions and the study of vibration control of rectangular plates.

Opis:
The paper deals with the methods based on the differential quadrature and their application to the free vibration analysis of plates. The spline-based differential quadrature Method (SDQM) is presented as an alternative to known methods based on the interpolation polynomial (PDQM). The SDQM uses a polynomial piecewise function to approximate the wanted solution of a governing equation. The way of determining the spline functions as well as the way of computing weighting coefficients for the method are presented in the paper. Then the SDQM is applied to determine natural frequencies of plates. The influence of the spline degree, number of nodes and grid point distribution on the accuracy, convergence and stability is investigated in an example. All results are compared with values obtained by the conventional differential quadrature method (PDQM).

In this work, transient and free vibration analyses are illustrated for a functionally graded Timoshenko beam (FGM) using finite element method. The governing equilibrium equations and boundary conditions (B-Cs) are derived according to the principle of Hamilton. The materials constituents of the FG beam that vary smoothly along the thickness of the beam (along beam thickness) are evaluated using the rule of mixture method. Power law index, slenderness ratio, modulus of elasticity ratio, and boundary conditions effect of the cantilever and simply supported beams on the dynamic response of the beam are studied. Moreover, the influence of mass distribution and continuous stiffness of the FGM beam are deeply investigated. Comparisons between the current free vibration results (fundamental frequency) and other available studies are performed to check the formulation of the current mathematical model. Good results have been obtained. A significant effect is noticed in the transient response of both simply supported and cantilever beams at the smaller values of the power index and the modulus elasticity ratio.

Free vibration analysis of thick functionally graded nanocomposite annular and solid disks with variable thickness reinforced by single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is presented. Four types of distribution of uniaxial aligned SWCNTs are considered: uniform and three kinds of functionally graded (FG) distribution through radial direction of the disk. The effective material properties of the nanocomposite disk are estimated by a micro mechanical model. The axisymmetric conditions are assumed and employing the graded finite element method (GFEM), the equations are solved. The solution is considered for four different thickness profiles, namely constant, linear, concave and convex. The achieved results show that the type of distribution and volume fraction of CNTs and thickness profile have a great effect on normalized natural frequencies.

This paper presents the harmonic and vibration analysis of functionally graded plates using the finite element method. Initially, the plates are assumed isotropic and the material properties of it are assumed to vary continuously through their thickness direction according to a power-law distribution of the volume fractions of the plate constituents. The four noded shell element is used to analyse the functionally graded plates. Four functionally graded plates-Al/Al2O3, Al/ZrO2, Ti–6Al–4V/Aluminium oxide, and SUS304/Si3N4 are considered in the study, and their results are obtained so that the right choice can be made in applications in high temperature environment and in reducing the vibration amplitudes in applications such as aircrafts, rockets, missiles, etc. Numerical results for the natural frequency and harmonic response amplitude are presented. Results are compared and validated with available results in the literature. Effects of boundary conditions, material and damping on natural frequency and harmonic response of the functionally graded plates are also investigated.
