Opis:
In this paper, we are concerned with a multi-objective fractional extremal programming problem. Using the concept of subdifferential of cone-convex set valued mappings, introduced by Baier and Jahn (1999), together with the convex separation principle, we give necessary optimality conditions. An example illustrating the usefulness of our results is also provided.

Opis:
This work proposes an optimum design and implementation of fractional-order Butterworth filter of order (1 + α), with the help of analog reconfigurable field-programmable analog array (FPAA). The designed filter coefficients are obtained after dual constraint optimization to balance the tradeoffs between magnitude error and stability margin together. The resulting filter ensures better robustness with less sensitivity to parameter variation and minimum least square error (LSE) in magnitude responses, passband and stopband errors as well as a better –3 dB normalized frequency approximation at 1 rad/s and a stability margin. Finally, experimental results have shown both lowpass and highpass fractional step values. The FPAA-configured outputs represent the possibility to implement the real-time fractional filter behavior with close approximation to the theoretical design.

In this paper we discuss the linear quadratic (LQ) optimization problem subject to fractional order irregular singular systems. The aim of this paper is to find the control-state pairs satisfying the dynamic constraint of the form a fractional order irregular singular systems such that the LQ objective functional is minimized. The method of solving is to convert such LQ optimization into the standard fractional LQ optimization problem. Under some particularly conditions we find the solution of the problem under consideration.

Opis:
Viscoelastic materials have been widely used as devices for vibration control in general. Frequently, dynamic properties of those materials are provided by manufacturers only in a graph form in the frequency domain. This is a recurring problem in industry and academia. Thereby, the goal of this work is to contribute to this important issue which is to obtain the properties of viscoelastic materials from nomograms supplied by the manufacturer. The methodology is based on the digitalization of the nomogram of the material and on the subsequent reading of a set of points from two curves in different temperatures. An optimization problem with simple restrictions is built having characteristic constants of the constitutive models as design variables. The problem is solved by applying a hybrid optimization technique. The results obtained are presented, and prove to be very promising.

Opis:
This paper introduces a fractional-order PD approach (F-oPD) designed to control a large class of dynamical systems known as fractional-order chaotic systems (F-oCSs). The design process involves formulating an optimization problem to determine the parameters of the developed controller while satisfying the desired performance criteria. The stability of the control loop is initially assessed using the Lyapunov’s direct method and the latest stability assumptions for fractional-order systems. Additionally, an optimization algorithm inspired by the flight skills and foraging behavior of hummingbirds, known as the Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm (AHA), is employed as a tool for optimization. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed design approach, the fractional-order energy resources demand-supply (Fo-ERDS) hyperchaotic system is utilized as an illustrative example.

Opis:
In this paper, an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) embedded with fractional order PID (FOPID) is employed for the alternator terminal voltage control. A novel meta-heuristic technique, a modified version of grey wolf optimizer (mGWO) is proposed to design and optimize the FOPID AVR system. The parameters of FOPID, namely, proportional gain (ΚP), the integral gain ( ΚI), the derivative gain ( ΚD), λ and μ have been optimally tuned with the proposed mGWO technique using a novel fitness function. The initial values of the ΚP, ΚI , and ΚD of the FOPID controller are obtained using Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method, whereas the initial values of λ and μ have been chosen as arbitrary values. The proposed algorithm offers more benefits such as easy implementation, fast convergence characteristics, and excellent computational ability for the optimization of functions with more than three variables. Additionally, the hasty tuning of FOPID controller parameters gives a high-quality result, and the proposed controller also improves the robustness of the system during uncertainties in the parameters. The quality of the simulated result of the proposed controller has been validatedby other state-of-the-art techniques in the literature.

Opis:
Fractional-order calculus offers flexible computational possibilities that can be applied to control design thereby improving industrial control loop performance. However, before theoretical results can be carried over to an industrial setting it is important to study the effects of fractional-order control by means of laboratory experiments. In this paper, we study the practical aspects of tuning and implementing a fractional-order PD controller for position control of a laboratory modular servo system using FOMCON (“Fractional-order Modeling and Control”) toolbox for MATLAB. We provide an overview of the tools used to model, analyze, and design the control system. The procedure of tuning and implementation of a suitable digital fractional-order controller is described. The results of the real-time experiments confirm the effectiveness of used methods.

Opis:
In this paper the method of detection and localization of delaminations in composite layered beams using an algorithm based on the wavelet transform of bending modal shapes of beams was presented. For the basis functions the fractional B-spline wavelets with single- and multi-objective optimization of the values of their parameters were selected. The analysis was carried out basing on the results of numerical simulations. Several cases of the delaminations occurrence with respect to their location on the thickness of the beams, different sizes and geometrical features, were analyzed. Results of the conducted analyzes show the high effectiveness of a method in the task of detection of delaminations and a possibility of its application in industrial conditions.
W pracy przedstawiono metodę detekcji i lokalizacji rozwarstwień w kompozytowych belkach warstwowych z wykorzystaniem algorytmu opartego na transformacji falkowej giętnych postaci własnych drgań belek. Wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz wykazały wysoką skuteczność metody w wykrywaniu rozwarstwień i możliwość jej zastosowania w warunkach przemysłowych.

Opis:
The paper proposes the application of fractional order controller in position tracking control of 2-link nonlinear robotic arm. The nonlinear system dynamics is linearized using inverse dynamics of the model and fractional order PID controller is designed to deal with remaining tracking errors. The optimal values of controller pa-rameters are calculated using Nelder-Mead optimization technique based on desired design criteria. The objective function is designed using weighted sum approach on each performance specification based on transient domain parameters. It can be seen from simulation results that fractional order controller together with computed torque controller improved tracking performance of proposed system as compared to PID controller used in the outer loop. Moreover, the robustness of proposed scheme is checked by applying the disturbance signal at control input channels of 2-link nonlinear robotic arm links.
