Opis:
A number of public codes exist for GPS positioning and baseline determination in off-line mode. However, no software code exists for DGPS exploiting correction factors at base stations, without relying on double difference information. In order to accomplish it, a methodology is introduced in MATLAB environment for DGPS using C/A pseudoranges on single frequency L1 only to make it feasible for low-cost GPS receivers. Our base station is at accurately surveyed reference point. Pseudoranges and geometric ranges are compared at base station to compute the correction factors. These correction factors are then handed over to rover for all valid satellites observed during an epoch. The rover takes it into account for its own true position determination for corresponding epoch. In order to validate the proposed algorithm, our rover is also placed at a pre-determined location. The proposed code is an appropriate and simple to use tool for post-processing of GPS raw data for accurate position determination of a rover e.g. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle during post-mission analysis.

This paper presents the introduction of a new instructional tool for Initial Teacher Education in Early Childhood language at “St. Kliment Ohridski” University of Sofia in Bulgaria. The aim of the study was to train university undergraduate students in the Narrative Format model of foreign language teaching and learning, and to conduct research into their opinions and evaluation of the course at the end of the academic year. Our belief was that students’ evaluation of the course that was offered to them would confirm its value as an educational tool. The results proved that Bulgarian students are in search of, and open to new working methodologies and classroom practices. As a result of the positive outcomes and students’ extremely positive evaluation of the model, it has been incorporated into their university studies and nursery practice for another consecutive year.

Tekst jest próbą analizy fenomenu podwójnego albumu jako znaczącego formatu LP i CD w muzyce rockowej. Rozpoczyna się definicją podwójnego albumu i krótkim omówieniem głównych powodów jego pojawienia się w przemyśle muzycznym. Następnie zawiera przegląd głównych typów podwójnego albumu. Można wyróżnić cztery specyficzne rodzaje tego formatu: podwójny album komplementarny, koncepcyjny album dwupłytowy, podwójny album koncertowy oraz przekrojowy album kompilacyjny. Oprócz tych szeroko rozpowszechnionych typów istnieje również kilka interesujących podkategorii. Najczęstszymi pokrewnymi formami są tak zwane albumy towarzyszące, które w jakiś sposób są powiązane z głównym albumem, ale zostały wydane oddzielnie (czasami w tym samym czasie). Autor koncentruje się na motywach powstania podwójnego albumu i krytycznie omawia jego niektóre elementy jako tekstu kulturowego. Najtrudniejszy element w tworzeniu podwójnego albumu to oczywiście muzyczna i tekstowa realizacja jego koncepcji, ale są też problemy z występami na żywo wydanymi na klasycznych podwójnych albumach. Ostatnia część tekstu odpowiada na pytania o obecny status i uzasadnienie istnienia podwójnych albumów w epoce zdominowanej przez cyfrowe formaty audio i streaming.
This text analyses the phenomenon of the double album as a significant LP and CD format in rock music. It commences with a definition of the double set and a brief discussion of the main reasons for its use in the music industry. The paper provides an overview of the principal types of the double album: double complementary album, double concept album, double live set and double compilation. In addition to these four most popular categories, there are also several interesting subtypes of this format. The most common are companion pieces – albums associated with and complementing each other even though packaged and released separately (sometimes at the same time). The author also focuses on the motives behind the formation of a double album, offering a brief critical discussion of certain shortcomings of this cultural text. Naturally, the greatest challenge in the making of a double album is to express its concept through music and lyrics; however, certain problems may also be identified in the case of live performances released on classic double sets. The final section addresses the questions of the present status of the double album and the rationale for its existence in an age dominated by digital audio formats and streaming.

Currently the CEN/TC250 is completing the development of a new (second) generation of Structural Eurocodes. The checking of robustness remains one of the important stages in the design of structural systems. Recommended design strategies for robustness checking are based on provisions given in actual EN 1991-1-7. A Non-linear pseudo-static analysis is widely used by following reasons: a non-linear structural analysis based on more realistic constitutive relations for basic variables makes possible a simulation of the real structural behaviour. Implementation of the non-linear pseudo-static analysis for assessment of the structural system in accidental design situation requires an alternate approach to safety format. The paper presents an innovative approach to safety format calibration for non-linear analysis of RC-structures subjected to accidental loads.

The estimation of structural robustness remains one of the most important stages of the design of structural systems. Recommended design strategies for the robustness assessment are based on the provisions specified in the actual EN 1991-1-7 and ISO 2394:2015. Currently, the EN 1991-1-7 and ISO2394:2015 allows the use of indirect tie-force method, but normally, non-linear pseudo-static analysis is widely used, because it is based on more realistic constitutive relations for basic variables, which enables a simulation of the real structural behaviour. Implementation of the non-linear pseudo-static analysis for the assessment of a structural system in accidental design situations requires to adopt a different approach to safety format. The paper presents an innovative approach to safety format calibration for non-linear analysis of RC-structures subjected to accidental loads. The proposed method of the robustness estimation is based on the joint energy-saving (conversion) approach and the full probabilistic method for the estimation of a safety format for pseudo-static non-linear response of modified (damaged) structural system. The proposed probabilistic considerations are based on the Order Statistic Theory.
Ocena odporności konstrukcji jest jednym z najważniejszych etapów projektowania konstrukcji budowlanych. Zalecane strategie projektowania odporności kontrukcji bazują na postanowieniach obowiązujących norm: EN 1991-1-7 i ISO 2394:2015. Obecnie normy EN 1991-1-7 i ISO2394:2015 pozwalają na użycie metody pośredniej więzi łączących (TF method), ale zwykle używana jest nielinearna analiza psedostatyczna, ponieważ bazuje na bardziej realistycznych związków konstytutywnych dla podstawowych zmiennych, co umożliwia symulację prawdziwego zachowania konstrukcji. Użycie nielinearnej analizy pseudostatycznej do oceny konstrukcji budowlanych w przypadku oddziaływań wyjątkowych wymaga użycia innego podejścia do formatu bezpieczeństwa. Artykuł przedstawia innowacyjne podejście do kalibracji formatu bezpieczeństwa dla nielinearnej analizy żelbetowych konstrukcji poddanych wyjątkowym obciążeniom. Proponowane metody oceny odporności na zniszczenie bazują na połączony podejściu energooszczędnym (konwersji) i pełnej metodzie probabilistycznej oceny bezpieczeństwa pseudostatycznej, nielinearnej odpowiedzi zmienionej (uszkodzonej) konstrukcji budowlanej. Zaproponowane rozważania bazują na statystykach porządkowych.

The paper is focused on analysing the competition system of the highest Polish football league, in particular the championship part after the main competition, introduced in the season 2013/2014 and modified in the season 2017/2018. It is a study of the changes in the rankings after the regular part of the season, both in the group playing for the title and in the relegation group. It simulates a hypothetical situation as if the system had not been changed for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons and the situation as if the current system had been played since the 2013/2014 season. In both cases, the results do not show huge variations, which so far challenges the needs for the 2017 modifications. In the long term, we can see a trend of higher variation of standings in the championship part after the main competition rather than in the relegation group. However, there are no major variations regarding the last two positions meaning relegation. In the six analysed seasons, the standings varied only in the seasons 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 – when only one team moved regarding the relegation positions in both cases. The standing of the championship group teams varies much less; although only in two out of six analysed seasons, the regular season winning team have kept their positions and became the final champions.
Artykuł koncentruje się na analizie systemu rozgrywek w najwyższej polskiej lidze piłkarskiej, w szczególności części mistrzowskiej, wprowadzonej w sezonie 2013/2014 po głównej części rywalizacji i zmodyfikowanej w sezonie 2017/2018. Bada on zmiany w klasyfikacji po regularnej części sezonu, zarówno w grupie grającej o mistrzostwo, jak i w grupie spadkowej. Symuluje hipotetyczną sytuację braku zmiany systemu rozgrywek w sezonach 2017/2018 i 2018/2019 oraz sytuację, w której obecny system byłby wykorzystany od sezonu 2013/2014. W obu przypadkach wyniki nie wykazują dużej zmienności, a co za tym idzie, podważają potrzebę modyfikacji z 2017 roku.W dłuższej perspektywie można zaobserwować tendencję do większej zmienności wyników w części mistrzowskiej niż w grupie spadkowej. Nie ma jednak większych zmian w odniesieniu do dwóch ostatnich pozycji oznaczających spadek. W sześciu analizowanych sezonach wyniki różniły się jedynie w sezonach 2015/2016 i 2016/2017, kiedy w obu przypadkach tylko jedna drużyna zmieniła swoją pozycję spadkową. Pozycja zespołów grup mistrzowskich zmienia się w mniejszym stopniu, pomimo że tylko w dwóch z sześciu analizowanych sezonów zwycięzca sezonu regularnego zachował swoją pozycję i został końcowym mistrzem.

The objective of studies presented in this publication was structuring of research knowledge about the ADI functional properties and changes in these properties due to material treatment. The results obtained were an outcome of research on the selection of a format of knowledge representation that would be useful in further work aiming at the design, application and implementation of an effective system supporting the decisions of a technologist concerning the choice of a suitable material (ADI in this case) and appropriate treatment process (if necessary). ALSV(FD) logic allows easy modelling of knowledge, which should let addressees of the target system carry out knowledge modelling by themselves. The expressiveness of ALSV (FD) logic allows recording the values of attributes from the scope of the modelled domain regarding ADI, which is undoubtedly an advantage in the context of further use of the logic. Yet, although the logic by itself does not allow creating the rules of knowledge, it may form a basis for the XTT format that is rule-based notation. The difficulty in the use of XTT format for knowledge modelling is acceptable, but formalism is not suitable for the discovery of rules, and therefore the knowledge of technologist is required to determine the impact of process parameters on values that are functional properties of ADI. The characteristics of ALSV(FD) logic and XTT formalism, described in this article, cover the most important aspects of a broadly discussed, full evaluation of the applicability of these solutions in the construction of a system supporting the decisions of a technologist.

Reading stamina, a term for someone’s ability to keep reading in one sit, is believed to be affected by the reading formats. Despite the crucial benefit of reading stamina for lifelong reading performance, it has not received much attention in literacy research. This study, thus, aims to find out the effect of reading formats (digital and print) on the reading stamina of college students. 70 Indonesian college students taking an English course were involved in this study. They were divided into two groups. 35 of them were asked to read a novel in digital format and the rest were asked to read a novel in print format for four-time meetings (30 minutes each). Their reading stamina was assessed through a reading behavior observation sheet. The students’ perception about their reading behavior was also collected through a self-reflection questionnaire adapted from Lynch (2018). The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively. The result showed that there was an increase in the students’ reading stamina for digital format from meeting one through meeting four, but a decrease in print format. Additionally, statistical analysis showed that there was a significant difference in the students’ reading stamina between those who read digital and print format (t (68) = 5.013, p < 0.05, d = 1.2). Regarding the students’ perception about their reading behavior, 69.20% of them mentioned that reading in print format was easier than reading digital format. These findings suggest that choosing appropriate reading format is pivotal for college students since abundant reading resources are available nowadays.

Jedną ze strategii budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej jest model biznesu oparty o wartość dla klienta. Do atrybutów, które kształtują postrzeganą przez klienta placówki handlowej wartość, zalicza się: lokalizację, poziom cen, jakość i wybór produktów, standardy i poziom obsługi klienta, godziny otwarcia i formy płatności. Są one jednocześnie czynnikami budującymi przewagę konkurencyjną. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja oraz ocena atrybutów przewagi konkurencyjnej formatów handlu detalicznego. Wyniki wskazują, iż hipermarkety mają przewagę nad pozostałymi formatami pod względem ilości, jak i jakości oferowanych produktów oraz godzin otwarcia. Lokalizacja jest głównym czynnikiem przewagi konkurencyjnej sklepów osiedlowych, poziom cen – sklepów dyskontowych, a poziom obsługi – sklepów specjalistycznych.
Retail (regardless of format) take a lot of activities whose purpose is to achieve a competitive advantage. One of strategies to build competitive advantage is a customer value model. Attributes that shape perceived customer value include: location, price level, quality and choice of products, standards and customer service levels, opening hours and payment. These attributes are also factors in building of competitive advantage. The aim of the article is to identify and evaluation the competitive advantages of retail formats. The analysis was based on primary and secondary sources of information. The analysis results indicate that supermarkets have an advantage over other retail formats in terms of quantity and quality of our products, and opening hours. The locationis the main competitive advantage of local shops, the price level – discount stores, and the level of service – specialist shops. The different formats of retail are evaluated by the same clients, regardless of class town in which they are located.

Artykuł dotyczy Bibliografii Dorobku Pracowników Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w ostatnich kilku latach. Omówiono zmiany zaistniałe w bazie bibliograficznej będącej źródłem referencyjnym i wskazano, że jej obecny kształt wynika z powiązań z systemami zewnętrznymi: uczelnianymi (Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach) i krajowymi (ministerialnymi). Na kształt bazy mają wpływ: Portal Pracownika, Polska Bibliografia Naukowa (PBN), a w ostatnim czasie Repozytorium Uniwersytetu Śląskiego RE-BUŚ. Przedstawiono zastosowanie formatu MARC21, umożliwienie zastosowania punktacji ministerialnej w rekordzie bibliograficznym, procedury eksportu do Polskiej Bibliografii Narodowej, a także do Portalu Pracownika. Zaprezentowano, w jaki sposób odbywa się rejestrowanie numeru profilowego z systemu ORCID i eksport dorobku w formacie BibTeX. Wskazano na sposób dodawania linku do repozytorium uniwersyteckiego.
The article concerns the Bibliography of the Achievements of Employees of the University of Silesia in Katowice in the last few years. Changes in the bibliographic database resulting from cooperation with external systems (local and government systems) are presented. Discussed Systems that affect the current shape of the database: Employee Portal, Polish National Bibliography (PBN) and Repository of the University of Silesia in Katowice RE-BUŚ. The following changes were presented: implementation of the MARC21 Format, application of the ministerial publication points in the bibliographic record, export procedures to databases (Polish National Bibliography and Employee Portal). The way of registering the ORCID number is presented and export of publications in the BibTeX format. The method of adding a link to the university’s Repository of the University of Silesia in Katowice RE-BUŚ was indicated.

This publication looks at shopping malls as a specific category of public facilities. It includes a diagnosis of their safety, pointing to specific irregularities and negligence that threaten them with exposure to possible terrorist attacks. The current international situation is examined, including the crisis that arose as a result of uncontrolled mass migration, which implied an increased threat from Islamic terrorism, which Europe has not yet learned to effectively respond to. A particularly dangerous instrument that can be used by modern terrorists is the chemical weapon. We give examples of its use in acts of terror. The research indicates that a high level of security for public facilities such as large commercial outlets, which accumulate a large number of customers in their premises, is a very important issue. The use of chemical weapons in shopping malls could lead to significant loss of civilian life, as civilians would be a defenceless target. The research process carried out by the author finally drew the conclusion that the current level of security for large-format retail centres does not provide optimal protection in the event of a chemical weapon attack. Therefore, implementing the articles recommendations should positively affect the diagnosed situation and have a significant impact on the improvement of the safety standards in public buildings such as shopping malls.

The versality of the compact disc (CD) has quickly become apparent to manufacturers and users alike. Exceeding the expectations of even its most ardent supporters, the CD holographic disc storage system has become one of the most successful consumer electronics products ever introduced. The phenomenal success of the audio CD on the eager worldwide marketplace has encouraged rapid development of CD technology and spawned entirely new high tech applications for the dimpled disc. The Mini Disc (MD), for instance, occupies about one-fourth the area of the standard CD-Digital Audio (CD-DA) format yet provides an identical playing time through efficient data reduction. The essence of digital audio lies in its numerical basis. It is the aim of the present paper to elaborate the mathematical principles underlying the audio CD as far as they are concerned to the format's electronic and holographic principles.

In the 21st century there was a clear turn to nature. Respect for nature and responsibility for sustainable development and rational use of resources have increased. The concept of ecology in architecture and interior design, sustainable design and innovation are still valid and considered from many different perspectives. This article focuses on putting this topic in the context of innovative ceramic materials and their application in shaping architectural interiors. Today, we are experiencing an amazing revolution, both technical and aesthetic, in the production of ceramic materials, and more specifically porcelain stoneware tiles. Modern ceramic products, especially large-format stoneware tiles, offer unconventional design options and an extended range of use of this material in architectural interiors.
W XXI wieku nastąpił wyraźny zwrot ku naturze. Wzrósł szacunek dla przyrody oraz odpowiedzialność za zrównoważony rozwój i racjonalne wykorzystanie zasobów. W architekturze i projektowaniu wnętrz pojęcia ekologii, zrównoważonego projektowania oraz innowacyjności są ciągle aktualne i rozpatrywane z wielu różnych perspektyw. Niniejszy artykuł skupia się na ujęciu tego tematu w kontekście innowacyjnych materiałów ceramicznych. Współcześnie doświadczamy niezwykłej rewolucji zarówno technicznej, jak i estetycznej w ich produkcji, a konkretnie w produkcji płyt gresu porcelanowego. Nowoczesne produkty ceramiczne, zwłaszcza wielkoformatowe płyty gresowe, pozwalają na niekonwencjonalne rozwiązania projektowe oraz na rozszerzony zakres stosowania tego materiału we wnętrzach architektonicznych.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób emulacji softwerowej - dynamicznej oceny stanu jakości torów kolejowych (Network Rail standard) na podstawie pomiarów parametrów geometrycznych torów, wykonywanych wózkiem pomiarowym TQM (Track Quality Measurement). Wskazano, że nie tylko geometria toru jest istotna przy utrzymaniu torów kolejowych, ale raczej dynamiczny wpływ tego toru na pojazdy, które się po nim poruszają. Naturalne częstotliwości korpusów pojazdów szynowych i ich podwozi wpływają na wzbudzane parametrami toru zachowania pojazdów szynowych po nim się poruszających. Pomiary TQM poddawane są emulacji softwerowej przy pomocy własnego oprogramowania TQM Viewer. Generowane raporty emulują Network Rail HSTRC format (High Speed Track Quality Car).
The paper presents software emulation of Network Rail Track Quality standard based on the track geometry parameter measurements carried out by TQM (Track Quality Measurement) trolley. It is not the track geometry that is crucial for the track maintenance but rather the dynamic influence of the track on the vehicles that run over it. The natural frequencies of the car body and the boogies will influence parametrically excited behaviour of the vehicle dynamical system. Recorded by TQM track geometry parameters data is subjected to software emulation process using TQM Viewer software. Generated reports emulate Network Rail HSTRC (High Speed Track Recording Car) format.

The subject of discussion in the article is the evolution of retail formats. It is assumed that the retail format is an aggregated and standardized product of a retail company. It is subject to the volatility characteristic of all social institutions; it goes to next phases of the life cycle, while also changing its structure. Although stores are still dominant in the retail sector formats, their share is dropping in favor of non-store formats. In Poland, a strong downward trend can be observed in the case of non-food formats, i.e. department stores and variety stores, contrary to food-oriented formats. A growing number of these stores is accompanied by changes in the design of these formats. These changes are analyzed in the case of discount stores operating on the Polish market.
Przedmiotem rozważań w artykule jest ewolucja formatów handlu detalicznego. Przyjęto, że format handlu stanowi zagregowany i zestandaryzowany produkt przedsiębiorstwa handlu detalicznego. Podlega on zmienności charakterystycznej dla wszystkich instytucji życia społecznego – przechodzi kolejne fazy cyklu życia, a jednocześnie zmienia się jego konstrukcja. Jakkolwiek nadal dominujące w strukturze handlu są formaty sklepowe, to ich znaczenie zmniejsza się na rzecz formatów pozasklepowych. W Polsce silną tendencję spadkową można obserwować w przypadku formatów zorientowanych na towary niespożywcze, tj. domów towarowych i handlowych, odwrotnie jest w przypadku formatów zorientowanych na artykuły spożywcze. Rosnącej liczbie tych sklepów towarzyszą zmiany konstrukcji formatów. Przeanalizowano te zmiany w odniesieniu do sklepów dyskontowych działających na polskim rynku.
