    The calculations of machining stability limit currently known do not provide a precise prediction of chatter-free cutting conditions. The inaccuracy is probably caused by mathematical models of dynamic forces acting on the cutting process during unstable machining. These models need to be modified. A new analysis of experimental data measured by one of the authors, M. Poláček, in the 1968-1974 period, forecasted an existence of several dynamic forces, which are mutually phase-shifted, thus complex. This fact has not been thoroughly investigated previously. As the assumed forces cannot be calculated from any equations, they must be identified experimentally. This research paper proposes a theoretical method of an experimental identification of these forces. The new model is intended to be used in the future for the development of a more accurate calculation of stability diagram.

    Technologia chipów RFID staje się standardową metodą znakowania towarów w przemyśle, handlu, logistyce i siłach zbrojnych, szybko zastępując przestarzały kod kreskowy. Chipy S-RFID wykorzystujące lokalizację satelitarną umożliwiają dokładną lokalizację oznakowanego obiektu w czasie niemal rzeczywistym. Coraz częściej pojawiają się fantastycznonaukowe w duchu pomysły i wizje znakowania ludzi implantowanymi biochipami RFID nowej generacji, które umożliwią, na przykład, odnajdywanie porwanych ludzi, śledzenie miejsca pobytu pewnych kategorii osób (na przykład zagubionych pacjentów chorych na alzheimera) czy żołnierzy na polu bitwy. Zagadnienie „etykietowania” ludzi budzi poważne kontrowersje i dylematy etyczne związane z dyskusją na temat „cyfrowego społeczeństwa nadzoru”, Orwellowskiego państwa Wielkiego Brata, ryzyka cyborgizacji oraz antynomii wolność/prawo do prywatności versus bezpieczeństwo.
    The RFID chip technology is becoming a standard method for product labelling in industry, trade, logistics and armed forces, quickly replacing the outdated bar codes system. S-RFID chips, using satellite locations, allow for identification of the precise location of a labelled product in almost real-time. There are ever more science fiction-like concepts and ideas of labelling people with implanted, new-generation RFID biochips which make it possible, among others, to find kidnapped people, pinpoint the exact location of certain groups of people (e.g. lost Alzheimer’s patients) or soldiers on a battlefield. Being highly controversial, the issue of “labelling” people poses ethical dilemmas relating to the debate on “a digital surveillance society,” Orwell’s Big Brother’s state, the risk of cyborgization, and the dichotomy between freedom/right to privacy and security.

    When examining security issues, the issue of war cannot be omitted, which is a source of enormous suffering, but also an incentive for technological innovation or a catalyst for social and political change. Although in the last decades the number of wars and their intensity has decreased, it still seems that they need a huge amount of money. It is also expensive to create weapon systems to ensure victory if a war occurs in the future. Discussions on what a war currently is are accompanied by the belief that it is distinctly different from wars in the past. Every age created its own art of war, which has changed in terms of measures, principles, and methods of fight over the centuries. The aim of the article is to present new tools and ways of conducting military action in the face of new threats in the 21st century. In addition to describing the new conditions of warfare, non-state irregular armed forces as participants of modern armed conflicts has been presented. In the study, the topic of using modern technology, unmanned detection and destruction systems, precision weapons and stealth technology has also been explored.

    Opis:
    Each region has its own set of unique characteristics, which should create the basis for their growth and give residents a sense of home and safety. This article develops an approach to identifying a region and its amalgamated territorial communities in order to identify their strengths and values, based on the example of Luhansk region, which, due to ongoing military aggression, has significant development problems. It is proposed to quantify the results of complementary analysis of sustainable development indicators by quantitatively qualitative transformation of such indicators and rating points into a gradient of territorial features, which is visualized using the quantification axis to determine the unique characteristics of region. The application of such methodology for identifying a region greatly simplifies the process of identifying the benefits and values of a region in order to properly position and build an effective socio-economic development strategy.
    Każdy region ma swój własny zestaw unikalnych cech, które powinny stanowić podstawę rozwoju i dać mieszkańcom poczucie przebywania we własnym domu i bezpieczeństwa. W tym artykule opracowano temat identyfikacji regionu i jego połączonych społeczności terytorialnych w celu określenia ich mocnych stron i wartości, na podstawie regionu Ługańska, który z powodu trwającej agresji wojskowej cierpi na poważne problemy rozwojowe. Proponuje się kwantyfikację wyników uzupełniającej analizy wskaźników zrównoważonego rozwoju poprzez ilościowo-jakościową transformację takich wskaźników i punktów oceny w gradient cech terytorialnych, który jest wizualizowany za pomocą osi kwantyfikacji, w celu określenia unikalnych cech regionu. Zastosowanie takiej metodologii do identyfikacji regionu znacznie upraszcza proces identyfikacji korzyści i wartości regionu w celu właściwego pozycjonowania i zbudowania skutecznej strategii rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego.

    This paper presents an application of artificial neural networks to approximation and identification of additional wave-generated resistance, slamming and internal forces depending on ship motion and wave parameters. The analysis was performed for a typical bulk carrier in ballast loading conditions. The investigations were carried out on the basis of ship response data calculated by means of exact numerical methods. Analytical functions presented in the form of artificial neural networks were analyzed with a view of their accuracy against standard values. Possible ways of application of the artificial neural networks were examined from the point of view of accuracy of approximation and identification of the assumed ship response parameters.
