    The main problem of paper was formulated as follows: What should be the structure of the Fleet Monitoring System and Personnel Management, taking into account national and international legal regulations and existing threats? The following specific problems resulted from the mentioned problem: What advantages and disadvantages have identified vehicle monitoring systems in the world and in Europe? What should be the functional, communication and physical structure of the Fleet Monitoring System and Personnel Management? What should cover the requirements of devices included in the system? Main hypothesis: The Fleet Monitoring System for Vehicles and Personnel Management should ensure proper, undisturbed organization of transport, monitoring of means of transport and threats, which depends mainly on the professional competences of employees, and secondly on the technical condition of infrastructure and road fleet. While submitting the main hypothesis to the process, detailed hypotheses were formulated: Professional competences of employees (KZP) are a key element of the smooth functioning of the system. The technical condition of the infrastructure (STI) has a significant impact on the smooth functioning of the system. Requirements for devices should include standards, standards and modern solutions in the field of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems).

    This study analyzed the case of a medium-sized workshop and the income from servicing individual customers. The management of the company observed some unused potential in the garage and plans to sign contracts with fleet customers for comprehensive maintenance of their vehicles. The key question was how many fleet vehicles could be additionally serviced without losing individual customers? In this work, a simulation model of a workshop was developed, treated as a system for queuing orders and vehicles. The model includes a subsystem of random generation of fleet vehicle mileage during the simulation. The idea of event-driven simulation and the Matlab/Simulink SimEvent environment library was used.

    W Polsce większość firm posiadających floty pojazdów wykorzystuje pojazdy zasilane paliwami ropopochodnymi. To sprawia, że sumarycznie zanieczyszczenie spalin z flot pojazdów może stanowić problem np. w aspekcie liczby cząstek stałych. Brak zdecydowanej pomocy ze strony państwa w promowaniu samochodów proekologicznych sprawia, że tego typu pojazdy nie są masowo wybierane przez firmy flotowe. W artykule przedstawiono na przykładach, zasadność stosowania pojazdów proekologicznych w tym zasilanych np. CNG (biometanem). Możliwe będzie w ten sposób przez stosowanie samochodów zasilanych paliwami alternatywnymi zmniejszenie emisji substancji szkodliwych spalin do atmosfery. Przy odpowiednim promowaniu samochodów proekologicznych możliwe będzie zmniejszenie ich liczby we flotach pojazdów.
    In Poland, the majority of companies with fleets of vehicles using vehicles powered by petroleum fuels. It makes globally exhaust pollution from vehicle fleets can be a problem, eg. In terms of the number of particles. No strong support from the thrones of the State in the promotion of environmentally friendly cars that makes this type of vehicles are not mass-selected by the company's fleet. The article presents the examples, the legitimacy of the use of environmentally friendly vehicles including the supplied example. CNG (biomethane). It will be possible in this way by the use of vehicles powered by alternative fuels to reduce emissions of substances harmful exhaust emissions into the atmosphere. With proper promotion of environmentfriendly cars will be possible to reduce the number of vehicles in fleets.

    Running business activity in the field of transport requires managing people to coordinate many factors at the same time. The most important factor for the functioning of an enterprise is the planning of execution of transport orders, which is an inherent element of effective management of a fleet of vehicles. The management of logistics and transport is a field of science derived from economic practice, therefore, real events occurring in an enterprise providing transport services at the national and international level were examined. Research and analysis of transport processes were conducted in an enterprise from the TSL sector functioning in the European Union in the aspect of efficient use of a fleet of vehicles.

    Artykuł prezentuje metodykę zarządzania flotą pojazdów miejskiego transportu publicznego. Opisano działania podejmowane od momentu tworzenia rozkładów jazdy przez wyspecjalizowane jednostki Urzędu Miasta st. Warszawy do czynności operacyjnych wykonywanych przez służby przewoźnika. Jako przykład wybrano proces zarządzania realizowany przez największego w Polsce operatora miejskiego transportu publicznego – Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe Sp. z o.o. w Warszawie. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono czynnościom operacyjnym podejmowanym przez pracowników Wydziału Zarządzania Przewozami MZA (WZP), których zadaniem jest nadzór i zarządzanie zadaniami wykonywanymi przez poszczególne „brygady” na liniach komunikacyjnych. Działania te wykonywane są przez pracowników Centrali Ruchu, Ekspedycji na krańcach i Patroli Mobilnych. Wszystkie czynności dyspozytorów, ekspedytorów i instruktorów WZP wspomagane są i dokumentowane w Systemie Zarządzania Ruchem Autobusów (SZRA) MZA.
    The article presents methodology of fleet management of urban public transport vehicles. Authors describe sequence of actions starting from the creation of timetables by specialized units of the Warsaw City Hall to the operational activities performed by the carrier. The management process implemented by the largest Polish public transport operator – Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw is presented as an example. Particular attention is given to the operational activities undertaken by employees of the MZA Transport Management Department (WZP), supervising and managing tasks performed by individual "brigades" on transport/bus lines. These activities are carried out by the employees of the Traffic Center, Expeditions at the line ends and Mobile Patrols. All activities of the WZP's dispatchers, expeditors and instructors are supported and documented in the MZA Traffic Management System (SZRA).

    Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) in connection with other technologies, such as mobile telephone GSM will improve management of chains of orders and fleet management in all types of transport. The paper describes existing navigation satellite systems (NAVSTAR GPS, GLONASS, EGNOS). It also presents advantages and barriers of using GNSS in transportation systems.

    Maintaining high efficiency of using the fleet of public mass transport vehicles puts many challenges ahead of the operator. Among them, when planning periodic operational activities, the operator should take into account the assessment of possible unexpected vehicle failures and the costs of their removal under the so-called corrective maintenance. Due to the random nature of vehicle breakdowns, knowledge about stochastic processes is necessary to maintain their efficient and safe operation. The research problem formulated in the title meets these needs. Therefore, the costs of corrective maintenance of vehicles are modelled, i.e. the costs that are not included in the scheduled maintenance costs and are not related to preventive maintenance. The costs of corrective maintenance and the costs of replacement of damaged parts are unexpectedly created at random moments of operating means of transport, usually between scheduled maintenance. Due to the variety of failure processes of individual parts of the vehicle, the methods and applications of stochastic modelling for simple failures modelled by the Poisson process are presented in this paper. The basis for the application of the presented methods is to identify those parts of the vehicle that are damaged in accordance with this process. The assessment of parameters of failure processes of individual vehicle parts is made on the basis of the operational database of a homogeneous fleet of vehicles operated for 5 years. The operational database is dynamically updated with new events. On the basis of actual data on corrective maintenance of a distinguished group of damaged parts of vehicles, the possibilities and limitations of practical applications of the Poisson process to assess the risk of incurring costs in the further process of fleet operation were shown.
    Utrzymanie wysokiej efektywności użytkowania floty pojazdów publicznego transportu masowego stawia przed operatorem wiele wyzwań. Wśród nich planując okresowe działania eksploatacyjne operator powinien uwzględniać oceny możliwości pojawiania się niespodziewanych awarii pojazdów oraz kosztów ich usuwania w ramach tak zwanych obsług korekcyjnych. Ze względu na losowy charakter awarii pojazdów dla utrzymania efektywnej i bezpiecznej ich eksploatacji niezbędna okazuje się wiedza dotycząca procesów stochastycznych. Sformułowany w tytule problem badawczy wychodzi naprzeciw tym potrzebom. Modelowane są więc koszty obsług korekcyjnych pojazdów, tj. koszty, które nie są uwzględniane w ich przeglądach planowych i nie obciążają prewencyjnych napraw. Koszty robót korekcyjnych i koszty wymiany uszkodzonych części powstają niespodziewanie w losowych chwilach użytkowania środków transportu, zwykle między okresowymi przeglądami. W niniejszej pracy, ze względu na różnorodność procesów uszkadzania poszczególnych części pojazdu, przedstawiono metody i zastosowania stochastycznego modelowania dla prostych strumieni uszkodzeń, których modelem jest proces Poissona. Podstawą zastosowania przedstawionych metod jest zidentyfikowanie tych części pojazdu, które uszkadzają się zgodnie z tym procesem. Oceny parametrów procesów uszkodzeń poszczególnych części pojazdów dokonywane są na podstawie bazy danych eksploatacyjnych jednorodnej floty pojazdów eksploatowanych przez 5 lat. Wraz z upływem czasu baza danych eksploatacyjnych jest dynamicznie uzupełniana o nowe zdarzenia. Na podstawie danych rzeczywistych o obsługach korekcyjnych wyróżnionej grupy uszkadzających się części pojazdów pokazano możliwości i ograniczenia praktycznych zastosowań procesu Poissona do oceny ryzyka poniesienia kosztów w dalszym procesie eksploatacji floty.

    Purpose: The aim of the work is to present selected research results of the first stage of work, the so-called pre-design research related to the implementation of electric vehicles into the company's fleet. Design/methodology/approach: the article presents inconsistencies and problems related to the use of electric buses as well as problems related to point infrastructure. The results of the research were obtained from the observations of the analyzed transport processes, the process of fleet management, from interviews with employees, as well as from the analysis of documentation and comparison of records with the actual state. Findings: The results confirm that the effective elimination of nonconformities leads to the improvement of the process quality and the reduction of costs related to vehicle breakdowns. Research limitations/implications: The research indicates the need for continuous improvement of the process of using electric vehicles. Validation studies have confirmed that it is impossible to eliminate all problems, therefore the process should be constantly improved. Originality/value. The article indicates the need to amend the subsequent projects and the current methodology of the procedure.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dokładności lokalizacji pojazdów transportu publicznego w obszarach o różnym stopniu urbanizacji. Omówiono również przesłanki tworzenia i typowe konfiguracje systemów zarządzania transportem publicznym. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono funkcjom lokalizacji pojazdów komunikacji publicznej w sieci ulic. Przedstawiono zasady lokalizacji autobusów przyjętych w koncepcji budowy takiego systemu dla Warszawy.
    The paper presents the results of empirical study on the precision of public transport vehicles' localization in areas with different degrees of urbanization. The paper also discusses the premises for the creation of fleet management system for public transport and typical configurations of such systems. Particular attention is devoted to the localization of public transport vehicles in the street network. Finally, the paper presents the approach to city bus localization adopted in a project of the system for public transport management in Warsaw.

    Opis:
    The importance of compliance with the schedule of work of road trains on the highway transport network of the European Union is shown. The possible options for work and rest modes for truck drivers on international routes have been analyzed. A model for optimizing the truck fleet operation plan has been developed. This model has two levels, that is, the general graph contains subgraphs designed with incompatible vertices to determine the active and shortest schedule. Each of the subgraphs reflects alternative routes and schedules of a truck. The model also includes restrictions on the total cycle time and active period duration of available unloading points. To find the shortest schedule, integer programming with a guaranteed optimal solution was applied. Testing of the proposed algorithm was performed for the example of serving orders for international freight transportation between the cities of Ukraine, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The active schedule is based on the criterion of the minimum of the total duration of drivers’ work. The results obtained are valid, consistent with the rules of the European Agreement. They indicate that the choice of the best schedule for a single car on a unitary route is not the best solution for the entire truck fleet and the entire flow of orders.
