Opis:: Seven species of Myxomycetes are reported from Poland for the first time. These are Arcyria virescens, Cribraria costata, C. elegans, C. languescens, C. mirabilis, C. pertenuis and Trichia flavicoma. They have very few localities in Europe and Cribraria pertenuis is known only from two sites worldwide. The species are described and illustrated with microphotographs, including first published micrographs of C. pertenuis. Localities are given and the taxonomy and ecology of each species are discussed.

Opis:: Improphantes geniculatus (Kulczyński 1898) is a rare steppe spider species, known from a few locations in Central Europe and from Southern part of Russia. Authors give information about afirst location of I. geniculatus in Poland, affirmed which is in “Góry Pieprzowe” Reserve near Sandomierz.

Opis:: The present study reports the halacarid mite species Agauopsis sordida Bartsch from Brunei Darussalam. This represents the first record of the genus Agauopsis from this country. The distribution of the brevipalpus group is also discussed.
Na terenie Brunei Darussalam po raz pierwszy stwierdzono występowanie Agauopsis sordida Bartsch, który jest jednocześnie pierwszym przedstawicielem rodzaju Agauopsis stwierdzonym na terenie tego kraju. Na bazie tego nowego odkrycia omówiono rozmieszczenie grupy brevipalpus.

Opis:: This paper presents information about the catching in Poland of a very rare species of spider Karita paludosa (Duffey 1971). On the basis of the collected specimen a description and pictures illustrating the diagnostic characters of the female spiders K. paludosa have been made as well as a map of the distribution of this species in Europe.
Karita paludosa (Duffey) jest bardzo rzadkim, higrofilnym gatunkiem pająka wymienianym dotychczas wśród nielicznych znalezisk z Wysp Brytyjskich, krajów Beneluksu, Szwecji oraz Rosji. W artykule przedstawiono informacje na temat odkrycia w Polsce stanowiska Karita paludosa (Duffey) w okolicach Supraśla. Na podstawie zebranego okazu wykonano ryciny ilustrujące cechy diagnostyczne samic tego bardzo rzadkiego i słabo znanego pająka oraz sporządzono mapę rozmieszczenia tego gatunku w Europie.

Opis:: The authors present a first record of Flammulina ononidisin Poland. This species was characterized in respect of macro- and micromorphological features, which were illustrated with the original figures and photographs. The habitat conditions of the recorded site were also described. A short discussion concerning the similar species and the ecology and threats of presented fungus species is provided.
Artykuł prezentuje nowy dla Polski gatunek grzyba Flammulina ononidis. Gatunek ten został scharakteryzowany pod względem jego cech makro- i mikroskopowych, a także warunków siedliskowych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem składu fitocenoz w których wyrastał. Nowe stanowisko grzyba zostało znalezione na wzgórzach kserotermicznych koło Pińczowa w płatach Inuletum ensifoliae iThalictro-Salvietum(klasa Festuco-Brometea), gdzie wyrastał na korzeniach Ononis spinosa. Przedstawiono krótką dyskusję dotyczącą gatunków podobnych oraz ekologii i zagrożeń prezentowanego gatunku grzyba.

Opis:: Paratenuisentis ambiguus, an acanthocephalan originating from North America, is an alien species parasitising the European eel Anguilla anguilla. It was first recorded in Lake Łebsko, on the central coast of Poland. The report gives morphometric measurements of male and female P. ambiguus from this locality. Because of the spread of the intermediate host Gammarus tigrinus and the appearance of new adults in eels along the southern Baltic Coast, P. ambiguus is evidently able to complete its life cycle in Baltic coastal waters.

Opis:: Here we describe the first record of a chalicothere from the Miocene of Myanmar. The chalicothere, documented by a partial mandible, was unearthed from the lower portion of the Irrawaddy Formation in the region of Magway, Central Myanmar. The Burmese material belongs to an early late Miocene fauna which recently yielded hominoid remains attributed to Khoratpithecus. The specimen, which is attributed to a chalicotheriine, does not reliably match with any described Miocene Eurasian species of this subfamily, suggesting the possibility it belongs to a new taxon. The discovery of a chalicotheriine in the surroundings of Magway contributes to the hypothesis that closed habitats were an important component of the paleoenvironment of Khoratpithecus.

Opis:: The first record of Mesozoic mammals in Ethiopia is a fragment of a lower mammalian molar discovered in residues left after acid dissociation of a small (ca. 4 kg) geological hand sample of a fine−grained bone bed in the lower part of the Mugher Mudstone exposed in the valley of the Jema River. This bone bed is part of a series of estuarine to fluvial deposits that are thought to be of Late Jurassic (Tithonian) age. The fragment preserves the trigonid of a molar; the distal part of its crown is missing. Morphological characters of the trigonid indicate the specimen (JEM−5/21) documents the presence of a mammal with a dentition at either a derived pretribosphenic or primitive tribosphenic grade of evolution. Absence of a well developed basal cingulid around the mesial end of the crown argues against phylogenetic relationships to the australosphenidans. Loss of the distal portion of the crown removed characters critical for determining its grade of evolution. The working hypothesis that JEM−5/21 represents a “peramuran” is advanced for testing. Hypotheses that it represents a mammal with a more derived grade of molar evolution or a previously unknown group of mammals cannot be excluded. JEM−5/21 establishes the presence of mammals in Ethiopia during the Late Jurassic, and its discovery identifies a fossil locality warranting thorough future exploration.
