Niniejsza praca prezentuje postacie Św. Serafina i Św Franciszka porównując ich mistykę. Obaj święci są uważani za typowych reprezentantów swojego wieku i millenium: Św. Serafin - mistyk ortodoksyjnego wschodniego chrześcijaństwa, Św. Franciszek - chrześcijańskiego zachodu, rzymskokatolickiego mistycyzmu. Podobne było ich życie w ubóstwie, podobna radość życia i stosunek do natury, podobne kościelny i sakramentalny wymiar ich duchowości. Ale były różnice. Mistyka Św. Franciszka jest bardziej związana ze sferą świata emocjonalnego i materialnego, z rzeczywistością ziemską. Natomiast Św. Serafin jest wiernym naśladowcą zakonnej tradycji góry Synaj, góry Athos i innych przedstawicieli hezychazmu, który pozostając w ziemskim ciele doświadczał wolności duchowej. Te różnice są widoczne jeśli porównamy doświadczanie Chrystusa przez Serafina w Wielki Czwartek i wizję Św. Franciszka na górze Alvernia.
This paper presents figures of St. Seraphim and St. Francis, comparing their mystic. Both saints are regarded as typical representatives of his age and his milieu: St. Seraphim – of the Eastern Orthodox Christian mystic, St. Francis – of the Christian West, the Roman Catholic mysticism. Similar was their life of poverty, similar the joy of life and the attitude towards nature, similar the ecclesial and sacramental dimension of their spirituality. But there were differences. St. Francis’ mystic is more associated with the sphere of emotional and material world, with the earthly reality. And St. Seraphim is a faithful follower of the monastic tradition of Mount Sinai, of Athos and of the other representatives of hesychasm who remaining in the earthly body experienced the spiritual liberation. These differences are visible, if we compare the experience of Christ by Seraphim on Great Thursday and the vision of St Francis on the mountain of Alvernia.

One of the tasks of preventive medicine as part of sexual prophylaxis is to improve sexual culture. Sexual culture is the entirety of sexual life of a society that origins from magic, religion and ideology in its aesthetic, emotional, family and social manifestations. It permeates art, affects the law, creates its own myths, models of love, ars amandi, norms and customs serving as social rituals. The moral transformations taking place in all countries of the Western cultural area are manifested first of all by the loosening of traditional norms regulating sexual intercourse. Increasingly, researchers sensitize adults to the growing popularity of the so-called orgiastic sex, in which the escalation of sexual stimuli (influenced by alcohol and/or drugs) is associated with the lack of ethical standards and principles, which causes the preference of various atypical (eg. group sex) and deviant forms of sexual activity (eg. sadistic sex). The aim of the research presented in this study was to get to know the sexual culture of Polish and Ukrainian students. Research problems have focused on the following questions: What does the sexual culture mean for the respondents? How many times have the respondents betrayed their partner? How often do the respondents talk to their partners about sexual needs?

In the paper, the authors present and analyse examples of mistranslated film titles into the Polish language, selected from a database of over 1,100 titles and presented on the sample of the film genre comedy with all its subgenres. The authors discuss various film title translation strategies and procedures with reference to the literature on the subject. In the conclusions, the authors attempt to explain the reasons for the selection of certain translation procedures, with special focus on the free formulation of titles as the least transparent.

Podobnie jak błąd może zdeterminować wolę do braku akceptacji małżeństwa zgodnego z nauką Kościoła, sprawiając wadę konsensu, tak również można bezpośrednio wykluczyć wierność małżeńską pozytywnym aktem woli. Samo zjawisko błędu wchodzi w skład zjawiska symulacji, gdyż w obu przypadkach mamy do czynienia z niezgodnością między wolą a jej zewnętrzną formą wyrazu. Nie oznacza to jednak, iż błąd determinujący wolę nie odróżnia się od symulacji. W przypadku bowiem symulacji następuje pozytywne wykluczenie dobra wierności, w przypadku błędu owo wykluczenie jest nieświadome, czyli bez udziału pozytywnego aktu woli kontrahenta. W tym przypadku ów pozytywny akt woli byłby skierowany przeciwko rzeczywistości, której się nie zna.
Just as an error can determine the will not to accept marriage in accordance with the teaching of the Church, causing a defect in the consensus, so as well can marital fidelity be excluded directly by a positive act of will. The very phenomenon of error is part of the phenomenon of simulation, since in both cases there is a discrepancy between the will and its external form of expression. This does not mean, however, that the error determining the will is indistinguishable from a simulation. In the case of a simulation, there is a positive exclusion of the good of fidelity, in the case of an error, this exclusion is unconscious, i.e. without the participation of a positive act of will of the person. In this case, this positive act of will would be directed against a reality that one does not know.

Paraphrasing Conrad’s title Under Western Eyes, I discuss the interpretations of Western scholars who have lost or found the real message of Conrad’s works.

Almayer’s Folly (1896) by Joseph Conrad challenged the conventions of the fictional romance while confronting the need of native-born Malayans and other Asian individuals to find voice and identity in an imperial context. Along with the narrative voice in this text are the many other voices of those who have been colonized. Fidelity to one’s identity and openness to relationships across cultures lies at the crux of this study. Conrad’s critics of the 1950s and 1960s dismissed his first novel as a romance with a weak subplot. However, that subplot, about Almayer’s daughter Nina and her love affair, sets forth moral claims of loyalty and fidelity that must be taken into account. For her relation- ship with a Malay prince expresses a love that is binding and enduring, one that crosses boundaries and divisions and is an apt model for our culturally convergent world. Conrad creates a dialectic of intercultural subjectivities to make a point about identity, loyalty, and self-fashioning. Whereas Almayer is portrayed as foolish and inflexible, his daughter, Nina, faces significant issues of identity, as she has to choose between the traditional, indigenous heritage of her mother and her father’s modern European aspirations. With Almayer’s Folly, Joseph Conrad showed himself to be an international novelist who could develop a story with an inter-racial and intercultural cast of characters.

Opis:
Electromagnetic radiation exposure increases with the rise of the wireless communication devices. Electromagnetic radiation, especially near 2400 MHz band, has gradually increased with the widespread of wireless fidelity adapter in indoor environment. In this study, electromagnetic radiation in dwellings where different Wi-Fi adapters and routers are used was assessed by measuring the electric field and compared with other electromagnetic radiation source and the limits set by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority. Measurements were taken in the range of 760-2690 MHz bands used by GSM, 3G/LTE and Wi-Fi technologies. The detected values for all frequencies are significantly lower than the limits of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority. Among the electromagnetic radiation sources, electromagnetic radiation of Wi-Fi adapter is higher than GSM/3G/LTE sources radiation in dwellings. Electromagnetic radiation values in nearest point of high power adapter Wi-Fi antenna are close to the Information and Communication Technologies Authority limit value. Results show that electromagnetic radiation based on Wi-Fi adapters or routers can be higher than GSM based electromagnetic radiation.

Spoglądając na panoramę współczesnego świata, można dojść do przekonania, że człowiek XXI wieku głęboko w swoim wnętrzu nosi poważny kryzys tożsamości. Wśród wielu przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy, niewątpliwie jedną z nich jest to, że zapomniano o roli sumienia jako czynniku, który reguluje i wskazuje na rzeczywistość Prawdy, wobec której człowiek powinien kształtować swoje życie.Przywołanie refleksji nad którą pochylili się Ojcowie Soborowi zebrani na Vaticanum II wydaje się być cenny wkładem we współczesną debatę nad tożsamością człowieka, szczególnie jeśli chodzi o rolę sumienia i obowiązek wierności jego nakazom. Istotny wkład w kształtowanie soborowej koncepcji sumienia ma również ten, który w literaturze fachowej, nazywany jest Ojcem Soboru Watykańskiego II, a mianowicie John Henry Newman, invisibile peritus Soboru Watykańskiego II – określanego także mianem Soboru Newmana – wynoszony jest przez niektórych komentatorów do godności doktora sumienia. Niestety idee, zawarte w nauce kardynała i znajdujące swój dopełnienie w dokumencie soborowym Gaudium et spes, ciągle mają problem, by przebić się do świadomości człowieka XXI wieku.Niniejsze studium podejmuje kwestię obowiązku wierności sumieniu w perspektywie nauczania John’a Henry’ego Newman’a oraz Konstytucji Gaudium et spes. Jego celem jest ukazanie istotnej i tożsamej linii, jaką można zauważyć między myślą kardynała, a nauczaniem Soboru w odniesieniu do poruszanej kwestii. W dobie kryzysu tożsamości współczesnego człowieka przypomnienie fundamentalnej nauki o sumieniu, wydaje się być wartościowym głosem we współczesnej debacie moralnej i istotnym wskazaniem dla dzisiejszego człowieka.
Looking at the panorama of the modern world, one can come to the conclusion that the man of the twenty-first century carries deep in his interior a serious identity crisis. Among the many reasons for this state of affairs, undoubtedly one of them is that man has forgotten about the role of conscience as a factor that regulates and points to the reality of Truth, to which man should form his life.Recalling a reflection discussed among the Council Fathers gathered during Vaticanum II, it appears to be a valuable contribution to the contemporary debate over the identity of man, especially when it comes to the role of conscience and the duty of fidelity to its dictates. A significant contribution to the development of this conciliar concept of conscience is provided by a man, who specializes in literature, referred to as the Father of the Second Vatican Council, namely John Henry Newman. Newman, the invisibile peritus of the Second Vatican Council, which is also called Newman’s Council, is said by some commentators to have been raised to the dignity of Doctor of conscience. Unfortunately, the ideas contained in the teachings of the Cardinal, which found its fulfillment in the conciliar document Gaudium et spes, still have a problem breaking into the consciousness of the twenty-first century man.This study tackles the question of the duty of fidelity to conscience in view of the teaching of John Henry Newman and Gaudium et spes. Its aim is to show a significant and identical line, which can be seen between the thoughts of the Cardinal and the teachings of the Council with regard to the discussed issues. In the age of the identity crisis of modern man, recalling the fundamental teaching of conscience seems to be a valuable voice in contemporary moral debate and an important indication for today's man.

The overarching aim was to reduce the frequency of connection failures that occur due to the connection speed and reliability, and identify, characterise and optimise the key process input variables (KPIVs). An experimental research approach with an inbuilt planned manipulation to one or more variables in the experimental data set was adopted. Key elements of the Six-Sigma methodology were applied to resolve the issue of high failures due to connection speed and reliability between two Li-Fi transceivers. KPIVs were successfully identified, characterised and optimised to implement a permanent corrective action to ensure a reduction in connection failures from 17% to 0%. The alignment between two Li-Fi transceivers along with Li-Fi cut-out was found to be critical in achieving good connection speed and reliability. The interference due to ambient visible spectrum lighting found to be statistically insignificant. This study explored the application and benefits of accessible wireless data communication technologies. Moreover, it sheds light on the probable factors that may influence Li-Fi connection speed and areas for future research. The current research provides a Six- Sigma based solution to high connection failure rates while using an infrared-based Li-Fi transceiver. Results also offer insights into the analytical tools that were found to be effective during the problem-solving process.

Zarówno doktryna, jak i orzecznictwo wskazują, że wykluczenie dobra wierności musi dokonać się pozytywnym aktem woli, jednak przydatne w określeniu prawdziwej woli symulanta zdaje się być określenie relacji zachodzącej między wolą zawarcia małżeństwa a wolą wykluczenia dobra wierności. Ważne jest określenie tych przyczyn, zarówno dalszych, jak i bliższych. Orzecznictwo wskazuje nie tylko na zaburzenia czy anomalie psychoseksualne, ale w obecnym czasie znaczenie posiada przede wszystkim mentalność współczesnych ludzi, propagujących idee wolności seksualnej, które w niektórych przypadkach mogą osiągać znamiona osobowości zdeprawowanej. Przyczyny bliższe są bardzo różne w zależności od  przypadku, choć do najczęstszych zalicza się chęć utrzymania relacji pozamałżeńskiej z osobą, z którą kontrahent był związany przed zawarciem małżeństwa.
Both the doctrine and the jurisprudence indicate that the exclusion of the good of faithfulness must be done by a positive act of will, but it seems useful in determining the true will of the simulator to define the relationship between the will to marry and the will to exclude the good of faithfulness. It is important to identify these causes, both further and closer. Among other reasons, jurisprudence indicates not only psychosexual disorders or anomalies, but at the present time, first and foremost, the mentality of modern people promoting the idea of sexual freedom, which in some cases can become a depraved personality. The reasons are very different depending on the case, although the most common is the desire to maintain an extramarital relationship with the person with whom the contractor was related before entering into marriage.

Opis:
The diversity of Polish voices about translation draws attention to the fundamental problems of translation: 1) the role of the translator in the process of linguistic and cultural transference; 2) the modeling impact of the receiving culture on the target text; 3) respect for the output work and culture in relation to word and text; 4) linguistic and cultural untranslatability; 5) the desire to create a discipline that “would tame” the complex nature of translation in theory and practice. Reflections upon these issues led to interdisciplinary and descriptivity in translation studies. Currently we are dealing with the situation of the repealing of faithfulness in translation as an impossible and unnecessary task. The voices of Polish translators, among others, growing over the centuries, were confirmed by this theoretical reflection. Researchers have announced it in Polish translatory reflection. They represented different methodological, phenomenological and structuralist ‑semiotic options (for example, Stefania Skwarczyńska and Edward Balcerzan in the years 1965—1981). In their reflections on translation, an essential role has been played by the adoption of two basic assumptions. The first one concerns the autonomy of a literary work, whereas the other one is about interpretation, that is, its full implementation in the process of read‑ ing. Within their borders, they pointed to the inevitability of the gradable identity of translation with respect to the original.
