The balance of mineral nutrients in plant nutrient solutions has an influence on yield, fruit quality and physiological disorder of strawberries grown in soilless conditions. Nutrient solutions that enhance the yield and quality of plants grown in soilless conditions are optimized through anion-cation equilibrium, optimum K++Ca2+/Mg2+ and K+/Ca2+ ratios. In this study, the effect of three different K+/Ca2+ ratios (5.5/7.0; 5.0/7.0; 6.0/6.0) on some morpho-physiological features (crown diameter, chlorophyll index, leaf temperature), fruit yield, fruit quality (fruit weight, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid, firmness) and physiological disorder (tip burn) of ‘Albion’ and ‘Festival’ strawberries, were investigated. Results show that increasing K+/Ca2+ ratios significantly accelerated the tip burn incidence. On the other hand, the highest yield, firmness and the lowest tip burn were achieved at 5.5/7.0 ratio of K+/Ca2+ treatment.

The reconstruction of a scene sculpted on some quartzite stone fragments discovered recently at Dra’ Abu el-Naga and dating from the reign of Hatshepsut is the subject of this paper. The relief resembles the scenes known from the Red Chapel at Karnak and seems to be a part of the wdỉ sh.t ritual performed on the occasion of the Opet and/or Valley Festivals.

The goal of the article is to answer the question: what do radio broadcasters in the west understand to be a ‘feature’? A lack of clarity in terminology in this respect was especially visible during the Prix Europa 2012 and 2013 festivals. The article begins with an outline of the term ‘feature’, followed by discussion of relevant festival categories, and ending with a presentation of several selected audio examples that indicate both the characteristics of the genre and cases where in spite of divergences from these qualities, the term ‘feature’ continues to function.

The article attempts to classify documentary radio-play. The research material came from 2001–2019 and included radio-plays, which were produced in the Polish Radio Theatre and in the sixteen regional Polish Radio stations, presented during the Two Theaters Festival in Sopot. The author used a quantitative and qualitative method of analyzing the medium content. The number of documentary radio-plays in relation to the number of all radioplays presented during the Two Theaters Festival in 2001–2019, then the percentage ratio of the three categories of documentary radio-plays and the percentage ratio of documentaryplays from the Polish national radio stations and regional radio stations are presented in the charts prepared by the author. In deliberating on the essence of the documentary radio-plays the author posed the following research questions: what is the interest of the authors in documentary radio-plays in relation to other radio-plays in the last twenty years?; what kind of topics are the most interested for the authors?; what historical events are reflected in the radio plot?; do artists critically review the past?; what is the formal structure of documentary radio-plays?; do the authors reach for reporter’s recordings?; and finally — what formal and compositional procedures do the creators use to influence the audiences’ involvement? However, the attitude to reality in the discussed documentary radio-plays allowed the author to divide them into the following categories: firstly — these are radio-plays based on documents, memoirs, letters, archival materials; secondly — radio plays based on documents, memories, letters, archival materials but enriched with contemporary reporter’s materials, conversations with real characters; thirdly — radio-plays about history, events, authentic characters, in which the past is the starting point for telling the author’s story.

The films of Krzysztof Kieślowski arrived in Spain comparatively late, and when they did so this was mainly due to the Film Festivals at San Sebastián and Valladolid, as well the efforts of independent producers like the brothers José María and Miguel Morales of Wanda Films. In 1988, A Short Film About Love was presented at the San Sebastián Festival, where it won the Special Prize and the FIPRESCI Prize, and caught the attention of Spanish critics. To this day, Kieślowski remains the Polish director best-known to the Spanish – as was made clear in 2016, by the numerous events and screenings marking the 20th anniversary of his death. There can be no doubt that, in the homeland of Buñuel, no other Polish director evokes as much enthusiasm. Considering the Spanish reaction to the maker of the Three Colours, this article focuses on the distribution of Kieślowski’s works in Spain, as well as the director’s presence at the Spanish Festivals. Further subjects of analysis are reviews by Spanish critics and the state of research into Kieslowski’s creative output in the Spanish language, as well as the release of his films on DVD and Blu-Ray. The above focus on festivals, the attitudes of critics, and the popularity among the Spanish viewing public is supplemented by a study of the impact of Kieślowski’s output on the work of Spanish directors, as well as efforts to discern the direct influence of the former’s films in offering the latter inspiration.

Turystyka festiwalowa jest jednym z najważniejszych aspektów wpływających na rozwój turystyczny obszarów, na których są one organizowane. Festiwale odbywają się niemal na całym świecie, są coraz częściej wybierane jako forma spędzania czasu wolnego, a ich różnorodność oraz bogaty zasób atrakcji przeznaczonych dla uczestniczących w nich osób ma na celu przyciągnięcie jak największej liczby turystów, którzy poza uczestnictwem w wydarzeniu, będą mieli także możliwość poznania danego regionu pod kątem jego zasobów kulturowych, historycznych itp. W artykule omówiona została historia Festiwalu Woodstock w Polsce oraz dokonany został opis tego wydarzenia. Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie oceny wpływu turystyki festiwalowej na rozwój miasta Kostrzyna oraz na działalność lokalnych przedsiębiorstw handlowych i usługowych związaną z organizacją festiwalu. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wyniki badań ankietowych, w której respondenci dokonali oceny rozwoju infrastruktury turystyczno-usługowej i technicznej, oceny działań władz samorządowych związanych z organizacją festiwalu oraz zapewnieniem bezpieczeństwa, zmian w zachowaniu mieszkańców miasta w okresie trwania festiwalu, zmian w obrotach oraz korzyści dla przedsiębiorców oraz korzyści wynikających z organizacji samego festiwalu.
Festival tourism is one of the main aspects influencing the development of the touristic areas the festivals are organized in. Festivals occur worldwide, and are more and more often picked as the leisure activity of choice. Their variety and rich set of attractions intended for the participants aim to attract as many tourists as possible, who have the possibility of, besides taking part in the event, to explore the area historically, culturally, etc. In this article the history of the Woodstock festival in Poland was discussed, and a precise description of the event was made. The main goal of the article is to illustrate the evaluation of the influence of festival tourism on the development of the Kostrzyn city and on the activity of the local mercantile and service entrepreneurships, related to the organization of the festival. In the article, the results of the questionnaires, in which the respondents evaluated the development of the touristic-service and technical infrastructure, local authorities’ activity related to the festival’s organization and security, the change in behaviour of the city’s residents during the event, the changes in finances of the entrepreneurs, and the advantages of the event, where shown.

Everyday life and festival time, when the humdrum routine is suspended, are two categories of reality which correlate with different types of response. The value of the latter category was by no means missed by the 18th-century Polish editors when they compiled the contents of their avvisi. These handwritten newssheets bear witness to both their editors’ and readers’ preference for all things extraordinary, such as spectacles, pageants, ceremonies, uncommon or shocking political events. This article contextualizes the works of art presented during the penultimate edition of Permutations Festival in CKiS “Wieża Ciśnień” Gallery in June 2021, Poland. The tools used in the analysis are scientific narratives such as monographs and articles about cyberculture, technoculture and STS. It poses questions about how they are helpful in the interpretation of the art gathered at the exhibition, what kind of place they give to science fiction, what differs between them and what is shared in the context of technicized contemporary culture.

This article is an attempt to relate the latest solutions in the field of technology and art presented at the Ars Electronica festival - which in the author’s opinion are worth presenting to a wider audience. In addition, the event was presented on a global scale, which was organized exemplary and for which the important buildings in city center was adapted.

: As a festival recreated in its modern form in 1873, the Nice Carnival has contributed to shaping the image of the city and of the French Riviera. While many carnivals and fairs in southeastern France have gradually lost success by becoming second-rate spring festivities, the carnival has remained a highlight in Nice: it is the event for which the town invests the most. In the city, the carnival takes place for a fortnight during the school holidays, and it has kept its role as a winter celebration. To explain these characteristics the author seeks to demonstrate the importance of the public and tourist policies that shape the way this carnival is put together, both as a festive ritual and a show. This emblematic carnival is promoted as a tradition and is seen as an economic stimulation process which is put forward through a marketing approach based on a context in which European cities are defined around central significant events. Designed as a leisure and family entertainment event, the Nice Carnival is also promoted as an international show, giving the city the image of a global carnival city at the same level as Venice and Rio. In Nice, the carnival is a lively show with paid admission, complete with grandstands and full of characters with caricatured features. Satire and irony are well organized – the floats and figurines in the procession are chosen by the city council after an invitation to tender. Every year, the city also selects a theme for the carnival. This institutionalization can also be witnessed in how the floats and the various parade figurines are built by experts, gathered together in family businesses. As a matter of fact, in Nice, the carnival is a matter of both professions and know-how. This article tends to show an original approach to the carnival compared with what is found in the traditional anthropological literature -in Nice, the carnival is not a transgressive ritual, a moment for excess, symbolizing inversion and disorder, but rather an official, institutional festival organized by the local powers.

Celem artykułu jest analiza ewolucji Festiwalu Krytyków Sztuki Filmowej Kamera Akcja w Łodzi, od pierwszej do dziewiątej edycji wydarzenia włącznie (2010-2018), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zjawiska wideoeseju, który w ostatnich latach zajmuje sporą przestrzeń w jego programie. Autorka – na podstawie programu filmowego, wydarzeń towarzyszących, konkursów organizowanych przez festiwal oraz konkretnych dzieł i sylwetek autorów – podejmuje refleksję nad próbą pozycjonowania terminu przez tę festiwalową imprezę w polskiej teorii i krytyce filmowej.
The aim of the article is to analyse the evolution of the Festival of Film Critics ”Camera, Action” in Łódź, from the first to the ninth edition of the event inclusive (2010-2018), with particular emphasis on video essay, which in recent years has occupied a large space in the program. The author – following an analysis of the film program, accompanying events, competitions organized by the festival and specific works and profiles of the authors – reflects on the attempt to position the notion of “film essay” by this festival event in Polish film theory and criticism.

The author presents operational activities and security operations consisting of four basic sub-operations: Concert, City, Road and Railway, and separate sections - the Field Station, the Police Village, security teams of the Warta and Odra backwaters and groups of joint Polish-German patrols.
Artykuł dotyczy działań zabezpieczających Festiwalu Woodstock w Kostrzynie w roku 2008 prowadzonych przez Lubuską Policję. Autor przedstawia działania operacyjne oraz operacje zabezpieczenia składające się z czterech podstawowych podoperacji: Koncert, Miasto, Droga i Kolej oraz wydzielonych odcinków – Posterunku Polowego, Wioski Policyjnej, zespołów zabezpieczających rozlewiska Warty i Odry oraz grup wspólnych polsko-niemieckich patroli.

Artykuł przedstawia problemy dotyczące rozwoju festiwali sztuki miejskiej w miastach postsocjalistycznych na przykładzie Łodzi – jednego z największych miast Polski. Autorzy przeprowadziliankietę podczas Festiwalu Medialnego „Człowiek niebezpieczeństwie”, zorganizowanego w Łodzi, a poświęconego głównie filmom dokumentalnym. Rozważania dotyczą zjawisk z dziedziny geografii kulturowej i miejskiej, analizowanych w badaniach nad wydarzeniami kulturalnymi, a także oceny tych wydarzeń i motywacji uczestnictwa w nich. Uczestnikami są głównie młodzi mieszkańcy Łodzi, z których wielu jest studentami szkoły filmowej. Głównymi czynnikami motywującymi uczestnictwo w „evencie” są potrzeba doznań kulturalnych i nowych doświadczeń, ciekawość oraz chęć rozwijania kontaktów towarzyskich. Na podstawie analizy autorzy przedstawiają wnioski dotyczące roli wydarzeń kulturalnych w rozwoju kultury w mieście i spełnieniu potrzeb mieszkańców. Badanie ukazuje, że festiwal odgrywa znaczącą rolę w zaspokajaniu potrzeb kulturalnych, pogłębianiu zainteresowań oraz tworzeniu kapitału społecznego.
