The issue of the process of integration and absorption of Arab Bedouin female students in teacher training institutions in Israel constitutes a significant yet critical chapter in the course of forming the personal and professional identity of the prospective teacher. The main purpose of this article is to describe the difficulties experienced by Arab Bedouin female students during the process of their social and educational integration and absorption in teacher training institutions. Also, to deal with the differences between Arab and Jewish teacher training institutions. Furthermore, to what extent the cultural encounter is perceived by the students that would enable them to have social and educational integration.The study involved 200 Bedouin Arab female students living in the Negev and learning in four teacher-training colleges in Israel; Kaye College of Education, Achva College, Sakhnin College for teacher training and Al-Qasmi College. The students answered a questionnaire that was written for this study. The findings of the study indicated many difficulties in the process of absorbing and integrating Arab Bedouin students in various teacher-training institutions in the country. Not to mention, language difficulties experienced by them with regard to reading articles and writing papers, not in their native tongue. The multicultural encounter between the different genders also poses a great difficulty in addition to the age difference between Arab and Jewish students. Furthermore, the policy of the Israeli academic institutions does not fully represent the Arab culture and in the interaction between the academic and administrative staff and the Arab Bedouin students.

Background. Studies on physical activity are vital for those students destined to become the future elite in the Visegrad countries. This issue is of particular concern because most studies undertaken from various countries have, in this respect, demonstrated significant deficiencies. Study aims: to determine the link between students leisure time and their levels of physical activity according to gender. Material and methods. Subjects were 2337 university students consisting of 1169 females and 1068 males from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary studying a variety of disciplines. The long version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used as a standardised measure for the study. Results. Male students were found to have significantly more leisure time than females, with the highest levels observed in those studying the humanities, somewhat lower levels for the medical sciences whilst the lowest were for the technical sciences. The greater the amount of leisure time, the more significant was the impact found on levels of physical activity. Male students with sufficient leisure time demonstrated the highest levels of physical activity. However, no such relation was found in women where, in contrast, the highest levels of physical activity were found in those having too little leisure time. Conclusions. The differences observed between genders in their links with leisure time and levels of physical activity should be taken into account when the teaching of physical activities are designed/devised for student studies.
Wprowadzenie. Badania aktywności fizycznej studentów jako przyszłych elit każdego kraju mają szczególne znaczenie. Ranga tego problemu jest szczególnie ważna, gdyż większość badań w różnych krajach pokazuje ich niezadowalający poziom. Celem pracy jest poszukiwanie związku czasu wolnego posiadanego przez studentów z uwzględnieniem płci z ich aktywnością fizyczną. Materiał i metody. Materiał badawczy stanowili studenci wyższych uczelni z Czech, Słowacji, Polski i Węgier w liczbie 2. 237 osób z różnych kierunków studiów w tym 1.169 kobiet i 1.068 mężczyzn. Do badań wykorzystano Międzynarodowy Kwestionariusz Aktywności Fizycznej (IPAQ) w wersji długiej. Wyniki. Wykazano istotnie większą ilość czasu wolnego wśród studiujących mężczyzn w odniesieniu do kobiet. Najwięcej czasu wolnego zadeklarowali studenci nauk humanistycznych, nieco mniej medycznych, a najmniej technicznych. Większa ilość czasu wolnego wśród ogółu studentów ma istotny związek z ich całkowitą aktywnością fizyczną. Studiujących mężczyzn o wystarczającej ilości czasu wolnego cechował najwyższy poziom całkowitej aktywności fizycznej. Takiego związku nie stwierdzono wśród kobiet, wręcz odwrotnie najwyższy poziom całkowitej aktywności fizycznej uzyskały studentki posiadające zbyt mało czasu wolnego. Wnioski. Wykazane różnice miedzy studiującymi kobietami i mężczyznami w relacji ich czasu wolnego i poziomu aktywności fizycznej należy uwzględnić w procesie dydaktycznym zajęć ruchowych w trakcie studiów.

This study examined socio-cultural factors influencing female participation in sports in Tertiary institution in Kano State in Nigeria. The need jar the study arose in order to stern the tide of low female participation in sports in Tertiary institution in Kano State. The population of the study was all female students in six tertiary institutions in Kano in 2012/2013 academic session. Records of enrolment showed that seven thousand five hundred and fifteen (7,515). The sample comprises of three hundred and seventy five (375) subjects made up of female students who were selected through multistage sampling technique. The instrument was a Likert type questionnaire designed by the researcher and was validated through a pilot study, with reliability coefficient of 0.87. Data collected were analyzed using Chi -square at 0.05 level of significance. All the three hypotheses tested were rejected which showed that socio-cultural factors influenced female participation in sports in tertiary institution in Kano State. It was therefore suggested that barriers against female participation in sports such as customs, traditions, religion should be de-emphasized, to allow more females engage in sports.

The quality of the musculoskeletal system in children is important in terms of primary prevention of postural disorders in adulthood. The aim of the pilot study was to assess the impact of the Propriofoot Concept exercises within the physical and sports education classes on the postural health of female students with an emphasis on the foot, joint range of the ankle, the gait, pain elimination and overall body posture as a manifestation of its functionality. The sample consisted of Ʃ n = 27 high-school female students in age(x) 16.3 ± 0.7 years. In terms of data collection methods, standardized procedures and methods for physical education and physiotherapy practice were applied, focusing on the selected factors (an emphasis on the foot, joint range of the ankle, the gait, pain elimination and overall body posture) of the musculoskeletal system. Diagnostics were applied before and after the 6-month program. The obtained results show that the exercise programme based on the Propriofoot Concept had a significant (Wtest, p < 0.01) and positive effect on the structure and function of the foot, as well as flexion and extension at the ankle joint, which resulted in the elimination of foot pain and improvement of gait. The final assessment (V2) showed that the foot structure and function improved (p < 0.01) and had a positive influence on the overall body posture, as well as its individual segments, in which we found significant changes between V1 and V2. At the same time, we found a relationship between foot functionality and overall body posture, as well as between other monitored factors. These findings point to the importance of targeted exercises, implemented in physical and sports education, to female students’ postural health.

Physical activity and eating habits are very important determinants of health. The aim of the study is to demonstrate relationship between the level of activity and eating habits of students. The study involved 1,291 female students with an average age of 19.5, from 12 fields of study of the National University in Lutsk, Ukraine. In order to assess the activity levels the authors applied long version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), and eating habits were surveyed via a questionnaire prepared at the Institute of Agricultural Medicine in Lublin. With regards to behaviors related to eating habits a significantly higher activity was observed in people suffering from fear of food. In the case of behaviors related to care for the appearance and the figure, a higher physical activity was shown among students performing exercises to reduce and to gain weight. Very insignificant use of the test participants of unhealthy means indicates appropriate health-promoting attitudes of the female students.

Adequate nutrition is one of the most important factors of a good state of health. The objective of the study was recognition of the mode of nutrition and behaviours related with concern about silhouette among students from the Ukraine. Materials and Method. The study was conducted in 2013 among 2,125 students, including 1,291 females and 834 males, from 12 study specialties at the National University in Lutsk. The method of a diagnostic survey was applied with the use of a questionnaire. The study showed significant differences in the regularity of consumption of meals to the benefit of males. Females, in their behaviours, more frequently avoided eating, felt fear of gaining weight, and lost control over eating. With respect to behaviours related with concern about silhouette, females significantly more often applied exercises in order to reduce body weight, while males in order to gain body weight. A positive behaviour in both sexes was a trace application of drugs and other pharmacological means to improve own silhouette.

Państwowe Seminarium Nauczycielskie Żeńskie w Piotrkowie powstało w 1916 roku w okresie okupacji austriackiej. W początkowych latach istnienia swoją działalność prowadziło w oparciu o przepisy sformułowane dla czteroklasowych seminariów galicyjskich. Jego celem było przygotowanie kadr pedagogicznych dla szkół elementarnych, zwłaszcza wiejskich. Przy seminarium utworzono czteroklasową szkołę ćwiczeń, niezbędną dla osiągnięcia praktycznych umiejętności zawodowych przyszłych nauczycielek. Zakład wzorowo rozwijał działalność dydaktyczną i wychowawczą. Troszczył się również o stronę materialną uczennic. Prowadził interesującą pracę pozalekcyjną. Bardzo korzystnie zaznaczył swoją obecność w życiu miasta. Początkowo większość nauczycieli seminarium, podobnie jak jego dyrektor dr Jan Magiera, wywodziło się z Galicji. Aktywnie uczestniczyli oni w dokształcaniu i doskonaleniu kadr nauczycielskich regionu piotrkowskiego. Pierwsza matura w seminarium odbyła się w czerwcu 1919 roku. Po dwudziestu latach istnienia, seminarium zakończyło działalność w 1936 roku. Jego mury opuściło 397 wykwalifikowanych nauczycielek szkół powszechnych. Piotrków Trybunalski jako ośrodek kształcenia nauczycieli trwa nieprzerwanie od 100 lat do dnia dzisiejszego.
State Female College in Piotrków was established in 1916 in the period of Austrian occupation. In the first years of its activity it operated on the basis of rules formulated for four – grade Galician colleges. Its purpose was to prepare pedagogical staff for primary schools, especially the country ones. A four-grade training school was also established as part of the college so that future teachers could acquire practical skills for their jobs. The college developed perfectly its educational activity. It also took care of the financial situation of its students. Moreover, the school engaged in interesting extracurricular activities. The whole town benefited greatly from the fact that the college existed there. Initially, the majority of the college teachers, like the head teacher Phd Jan Magiera, came from Galicia. They actively participated in educating and training the teaching staff of the Piotrków region. The first school leaving exam was taken in the college in June 1919. After twenty years, the college finished its activity in 1936. Altogether 397 qualified female teachers left the college.

Opis:
PURPOSE: to test the effectiveness of dance aerobics to optimize the motor activity and the psychophysical state of female students. METHODS: medical and biological: body weight (kg), BPM and BPD(mmHg), ChSS in a state of rest and the Stange test. All the data obtained by the study were processed by the procedures of descriptive and comparative statistical methods. From the area of the descriptive statistics the following parameters were defined: representative central and dispersive parameters: arithmetic average –; standard deviation –; initial and final measuring. Unpaired test, applied in comparative statistics, was performed in order to compare the arithmetic means of two independent data sets (experimental and control groups). Statistical analysis was performed by applying SPSS statistical software.RESULTS: During the studying, and especially the examination time, students experiencestrong psycho-emotional stress andthephysical state becomes worse. The use of dance aerobics has a positive influence on the psychophysical state of female students and the optimization of their physical activity.CONCLUSIONS:Comparative analysis of data confirmed the effectiveness of dance aerobics tools not only in the absence of negative changes during the examination session, but also improvement of the psychophysical state (state of health by the method of WAM in KG – 3,8 points, EG1 – 4,3 points, EG2 – 4,5 points, ЕG3 – 4.8 points) and the level of somatic health of students (in KG 0.23 ± 0.04 points, ЕG1 8.78 ± 0.50 points, ЕG2 8.77 ± 0.61 points, ЕG3 11, 65 ± 0.55 points)
CEL: przetestowanie efektywności aerobiku tanecznego w celu optymalizacji aktywności ruchowej i stanu psychofizycznego studentek. METODY: medyczne i biologiczne: masa ciała (kg), BPM i BPD (mmHg), ChSS w stanie spoczynku i test Stange. Wszystkie dane uzyskane w badaniu zostały przetworzone zgodnie z procedurami opisowych i porównawczych metod statystycznych. Z obszaru statystyki opisowej zdefiniowano następujące parametry: reprezentatywne parametry centralne i dyspersyjne: średnia arytmetyczna -; odchylenie standardowe -; pomiar początkowy i końcowy. Przeprowadzono niesparowany test, zastosowany w statystyce porównawczej, w celu porównania średnich arytmetycznych dwóch niezależnych zestawów danych (grupy eksperymentalne i kontrolne). Analizę statystyczną przeprowadzono stosując oprogramowanie statystyczne SPSS. WYNIKI: Podczas nauki, a zwłaszcza podczas egzaminu, uczniowie doświadczają silnego stresu psycho-emocjonalnego, a stan fizyczny pogarsza się. Zastosowanie aerobiku tanecznego ma pozytywny wpływ na stan psychofizyczny studentek i optymalizację ich aktywności fizycznej. WNIOSKI: Analiza porównawcza danych potwierdziła skuteczność narzędzi do aerobiku tanecznego nie tylko przy braku negatywnych zmian podczas sesji egzaminacyjnej, ale także poprawie stanu psychofizycznego (stan zdrowia metodą WAM w KG – 3,8 punktu, EG1 – 4,3 punktu, EG2 – 4,5 punktu, ЕG3 – 4,8 punktu) i poziom zdrowia somatycznego uczniów (w KG 0,23 ± 0,04 punktu, ЕG1 8,78 ± 0,50 punktów, ЕG2 8,77 ± 0,61 punktu, ЕG3 11, 65 ± 0,55 punktów)

Indian female graduate students have to make choices among multiple aspects of their mental and physical abilities as science students and women in a society with different gender norms in the country. However, their experiences have not been well researched within the scholarship on commercial acumen. In this study, using the phenomenological approach, we explored the phenomenon of commercial acumen in the Indian female graduates studying science course meaning non-business course. The participants were diverse in terms of their status as students, current students and alumni. A small number of employers also participated in the study. A survey with open-ended and closed questions was used to evaluate the understanding and relevance of commercial acumen skills in the female graduate students, alumni, and employers. The findings of 127 responses indicated that the female graduate students perceived being on the non-business course as a limited experience of understanding of commercial acumen in the context of employability skills. This study recommends a reflection on the part of the educators to highlight the relevance and definition of commercial acumen during degree programmes.

The study was conducted using the long version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the aim of this research is to determine the level of physical activity and differences among students, of the University of Tuzla, in relation to gender. The study was conducted on a sample of 813 students (321 male and 492 female) 1st cycle of studies at the University of Tuzla. The results of present study showed that average level of total physical activity for male students was 6,013.493 MET-minutes/week, while female students showed average level of total physical activity was 4,619.381 MET-minutes/ week. We conclude that the total data indicates that in this group of students the physical activity level is sufficient and that there is a lower physical activity among females than males. Also there is a need to continuously take measures for promoting the sports at Universities with the aim of raising the health status of students to a higher level.

Aim: Under the supervision of the Department of General and Vascular Surgery of Poznan University of Medical Sciences, a questionnaire was distributed online or as a paper version to medical students (MSs) in order to better understand the attitudes towards surgery as a specialty and to determine the reasons why students do and do not choose vascular surgery as their career path. Materials and methods: The questionnaire was distributed online or as a paper version to MSs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th year of the PUMS 6-year M.D. program. It provided the data on the year of study, grade point average (GPA), sex, age, respondent’s specialty choice, 33 questions with responses on a 1-5 Likert scale (1 was the least important reason and 5 was the most important reason), and 2 questions with socres between 0 and 4. A total of 136 Polish MSs of PUMS completed the survey. Results: For MSs who choose vascular surgery as their career path, “endovascular capabilities of vascular surgery” and “higher income possibilities than a general surgeon” were the most important reasons. The “poor availability of work in other places than the vascular surgery department of your choice, few such clinics in the region” was the most important reason not to choose vascular surgery. A role of gender was also noted - 13% of male MSs classified gender as an “important factor”, in contrast to 60% of female MSs. Conclusions: The findings of this study might help to develop better strategies to attract future trainees to surgical specialties, particularly vascular surgery, and improve work environment.

The topic of this article is female students’ trust in the Catholic Church. The interest in the beliefs of female students stems from the fact that until recently, numerous sociological studies have shown that women were characterised by a high degree of conformism towards the teachings of the Church and a high level of involvement in religious life. Currently, it is observed that the differences in religiousness between men and women are blurring. Their attitudes and religious behaviour are similar, liberalised and deinstitutionalised. The inference regarding the trust of female students in the Catholic Church presented in this article refers to the foundational research, whose findings complement the interpretation of the results of the empirical research carried out in 2020 (research sample of 621 people), in which the author of this text, among others, participated. The result of this inference shows, among other things, that women's trust in the institution of the Church is declining. Female students distance themselves in all basic dimensions of its social activity (institutional authority, charitable, educational activity) and religious activity (mediation in salvation).

Okres studiów to czas nowych zadań, zmiany stylu życia, w tym podejmowania zachowań ryzykownych. W związku z tym wprowadzono do programu kształcenia treści dotyczące zachowań zdrowotnych i opracowano szereg programów profilaktycznych dla studentów. Celem badań opisanych w niniejszym artykule była ewaluacja programu edukacji zdrowotnej prowadzonej w ramach podstawowego trybu kształcenia oraz określenie zmian w podejmowaniu zachowań zdrowotnych studentek. Założono, że wzrośnie ogólny indeks zachowań zdrowotnych w wyniku nasilenia zachowań prozdrowotnych i zmniejszenia zachowań antyzdrowotnych. Badaniami objęto studentki psychologii. Do oceny ogólnego nasilenia zachowań zdrowotnych i jego składowych (praktyki zdrowotne, zachowania profilaktyczne, prawidłowe nawyki żywieniowe, pozytywne nastawienie psychiczne) użyto Inwentarza Zachowań Zdrowotnych (IZZ) Juczyńskiego oraz ankiety personalnej. Badanie składało się z dwóch pomiarów. Pierwszy przeprowadzono na grupie 98 studentek (w wieku 19–23 lat) pierwszego roku studiów stacjonarnych jednolitych magisterskich, a drugi – po upływie czterech lat na tej samej grupie studentów. W wyniku obu etapów pozyskano 58 kompletnych zestawów badań. Przeprowadzone analizy pozwalają stwierdzić brak różnic pomiędzy dwoma pomiarami w odniesieniu do ogólnego poziomu zachowań zdrowotnych i jego składowych.
The period of studies is a time of new tasks, lifestyle changes, including taking up risky behaviors. As a result, health behaviours related content has been introduced into the curriculum and a number of student prevention programs have been developed. The aim of the research described in this article was to evaluate the health education program conducted as part of the basic education mode and to identify changes in taking up of female students’ health behavior. It was assumed that the overall index of health behavior would increase by increasing pro-health behavior and reducing anti-health behavior. Psychology female students were included in the research. The Health Behavior Inventory (IZZ) by Juczyński and the personal survey were used to assess the overall severity of health behaviors and its components (health practices, preventive behaviors, correct eating habits, positive mental attitude). The study consisted of two measurements. The first of them was carried out on a group of 98 first-year female students (aged 19–23) of full-time long-cycle master’s degree programme, and the second one was conducted four years later on the same group of students. As a result of both measurements, 58 complete research sets were obtained. The conducted analyzes allow to state no differences between the two measurements with regard to the general level of health-related behaviors and its components.

All the more significant is to research, which trends in politeness are to be observed at universities in Poland. The aim of the article is to try to find an answer to the question, what are the students today’s expectations concerning courtesy towards their colleges of the opposite sex as well as to reflect the male and female politeness standards at the academy.
Die moderne Dame, der moderne Gentleman an der Hochschule Das akademische Milieu ist ein Ort, wo die zukünftigen Eliten eines Landes ausgebildet werden. Umso relevanter scheint es zu untersuchen, welche Höflichkeitstrends im täglichen Verhalten der Studenten man heutzutage an Hochschulen in Polen beobachten kann. Das Ziel der Beitrags ist es den Versuch zu unternehmen die Frage zu beantworten, wie die gegenwärtigen Höflichkeitserwartungen der Studenten gegenüber ihrer Kollegen des anderen Geschlechts aussehen und die geschlechtsspezifischen Höflichkeitsnormen im akademischen Milieu zu reflektieren.
