The presented contribution deals with the issue of alcohol dependence in a modern day family from a viewpoint of family counseling. The methodology of family counseling related to recovery process of a family member addicted to alcohol is considered a major problem. A primary research goal was to clarify the status and changes of family counseling in the recovery process with regard to time factor. This goal emerges especially from the lack of clarity and non-systematic nature of family counseling in Slovakia. The main method was a semi-structured interview. Interviews with family counseling and/or alcohol dependence experts were analyzed by means of interpretative content analysis. Interviews with family members were subjected to a phenomenological data analysis. Analysis results were transparently presented by the author in the tables of common topics reflecting subjectively per ceived status of family counseling in Slovakia. The author can, among other things, state that the methodology of family counseling in Slovakia does not exist and unification of these methods is not expressly desirable from the experts’ point of view. She also points to a number of weaknesses of family counseling which need to be solved in a system way. Interpretation of experts’ results is complemented by the counseling experience of families themselves, where always one member was addicted to alcohol. The time factor is at the same time important especially in the three years of family counseling which is marked by the occurrence of most life changes.

Zjawisko przemocy rówieśniczej w szkołach jest szeroko badane i opisywane w piśmiennictwie. Istnieje jednak luka w badaniu i prezentacji przeżyć rodziców prześladowanych uczniów. Niniejszy artykuł jest relacją z badań własnych na temat rodzicielskich dylematów wobec zjawiska przemocy rówieśniczej w szkole. Szukano odpowiedzi na pytania: czego dotyczą rodzicielskie dylematy wobec zjawiska przemocy rówieśniczej w szkole? i jakie rodzicielskie wartości i zasady leżą u podstaw rozwiązywania tych dylematów? które spośród podejmowanych przez rodziców decyzji i działań (w celu rozwiązania dylematów) wynikają z postaw: upraszczania, komplikowania ponad miarę, namysłu? Badania oparto na analizie hermeneutycznej pisemnych wypowiedzi rodziców w przestrzeni internetowej na zamkniętej facebookowej grupie „Rodzice nastolatków” i wybranych forach społecznościowych. Ustalono, że rodzice dzieci doświadczających przemocy rówieśniczej przeżywają wiele dylematów dotyczących uznania i zrozumienia sytuacji ich dziecka, reagowania na zgłaszane przez nie informacje oraz działań, jakie mogą podjąć, by zatrzymać przemoc rówieśniczą. U podstaw rozstrzygania rodzicielskich dylematów leżą określone wartości i zasady, które niekiedy ewoluują w hierarchii wartości rodziców. Podczas rozwiązywania dylematów rodzice ujawniają postawy: upraszczania – impulsywności w działaniu; komplikowania ponad miarę – „nieprzytomności” w działaniu i postawę namysłu – owocującą konstruktywnymi rozwiązaniami.
Peer violence in schools is widely researched and described in literature. However, there is a gap in the study and presentation of experiences of parents of persecuted students. The proposed article is an account of our own research on parental dilemmas in the phenomenon of peer violence in schools. The research sought answers to the following questions: what are the parental dilemmas about the phenomenon of peer violence at school? what are the parental values and principles underlying the solution of these dilemmas? which of the decisions and actions taken by parents (to solve the dilemmas) result from the attitudes of: simplification, complication beyond measure, reflection? The research is based on a hermeneutical analysis of written statements of parents in the Internet space: on a closed facebook group “Parents of Teenagers” and on selected social forums. As a result of the research it was established that: Parents of children experiencing peer violence experience a number of dilemmas concerning: recognition and understanding of their child’s situation, responding to information reported by their child, and dilemmas concerning the actions that parents can take to stop peer violence; the resolution of parental dilemmas is based on specific values and principles that sometimes evolve in the parents’ hierarchy of values. In solving dilemmas, parents reveal attitudes of simplification – impulsiveness in action; complexity – ‘unconsciousness’ in action; and an attitude of reflection – resulting in constructive solutions.

Temat i treść artykułu koncentrują się na organizacji i zadaniach parafialnego poradnictwa rodzinnego oferowanego małżeństwom i rodzinom przez Kościół katolicki, co jest jednym z elementów pomocy doradczej wobec postępującego rozpadu małżeństw i rodzin, częstego negowania wartości samego małżeństwa, zwłaszcza „istotnych jego przymiotów: jedności, i nierozerwalności” (KPK/83, kan. 1056). Dobro rodziny ma kluczowe znaczenie dla przyszłości świata i Kościoła (AL, nr 31), dlatego Kościół katolicki dostrzega konieczność organizacji, dostosowania i realizacji zadań doradczych poradnictwa rodzinnego, szczególnie przy parafiach, gdyż znajdują się najbliżej wiernych w ich codziennym życiu. Z uwagi na złożoność problemów, z którymi borykają się współczesne małżeństwa i rodziny, Kościół w swoich dokumentach zwraca uwagę na potrzebę rozwoju tej formy poradnictwa z położeniem nacisku na pomoc doradczą z elementem „nowej ewangelizacji”, dynamiczną, otwartą, uwzględniającą obecną rzeczywistość dystansowania się współczesnego człowieka od wiary.            W treści artykułu przedstawiono istotne dokumenty Kościoła regulujące działalność parafialnych poradni rodzinnych, ich cele i zadania w optyce „nowej ewangelizacji”. Szczególnie zwrócono uwagę na konieczność prowadzenia takiego poradnictwa dla małżeństw i rodzin, w pierwszych latach ich małżeństwa. W konkluzjach końcowych dokonano podsumowania rozważań i zaproponowano możliwe rozwiązania usprawniające udzielanie wsparcia oraz uczenie przeżywania małżeństwa i rodzicielstwa jako powołania chrześcijańskiego.

Family counseling institutions are an important part of the mission of the Evangelical Church in Germany. Their importance could be considered in two dimensions: firstly as a task of the church referring to the Greatest Commandment about love of one’s neighbors and secondly, as the way of the Church towards the contemporary society. The article intends to describe the structure of the evangelical counseling, its subjects and its features. The aim could be achieved by a deep scrutiny of particular institutions of Church counseling, their history, their requirements of cooperation with parishes and requirements for social workers. The subjects of evangelical counseling should be considered as a final point of the article as they are a picture of evangelical interpretations of contemporary phenomena of the world. Three of them: abortion, domestic and sexual violence and family crisis are of high importance. Theological and sociological guidelines are introduced into the article as they become the ground for the interpretation of both challenges to the contemporary world and the ways of facing them by the Church.

Jedną z form opieki świadczonej przez Kościół współczesnej rodzinie jest pomoc w ramach rekolekcji dla rodzin, prowadzonych przez osoby konsekrowane. W ich trakcie możliwa jest zarówno praktyka kierownictwa duchowego, jak i poradnictwo. Sama forma rekolekcji stwarza korzystne warunki do prowadzenia rozmów, zapraszania kompetentnych ludzi i pomocy rodzinom zarówno od strony duchowej, jak i doradczej. Doświadczenie uczy, że równoległe prowadzenie kierownictwa duchowego i poradnictwa jest możliwe. Kreuje jednak potrzebę dobrego przygotowania organizatorów rekolekcji i prowadzących je. Istotne również wydaje się podkreślenie konieczności kontynuacji pomocy rodzinie również poza czasem rekolekcji. Stwarza to większe szanse osiągnięcia oczekiwanych rezultatów.
The situation of contemporary marriages and Christian families raises serious concern of the Church, therefore all practical forms of help for the family seem to be needed. One of them is care provided as part of the retreat for families, led by consecrated persons. It enables both the practice of spiritual direction and the counseling. The form of the retreat creates favorable conditions for holding talks, inviting competent people and extending both spiritual and advisory help for the families. Experience shows that parallel spiritual direction and counseling is possible. However, good preparation on the part of the organizers of the retreat and of the retreat leader is necessary. It also seems essential to emphasize the need of continued help to the family outside the retreat. Then there are greater chances of achieving the expected results.

Ten artykuł jest posłowiem do wcześniej opublikowanego tekstu autorki pod tytułem Małżeństwo w kryzysie: czy warto/należy ratować je „za wszelką cenę”? – refleksje nad wybranymi problemami klientów pomocy społecznej , w którym ukazano perspektywę czysto laicką, głównie psychologiczną i terapeutyczną. Uzależnienia i przemoc nie omijają małżeństw sakramentalnych, które zgodnie z wiarą katolicką trwają aż do śmierci. Można jednak pogodzić rekomendacje psychologiczne, terapeutyczne z rekomendacjami natury duchowej – co doskonale obrazuje działalność wielu katolickich duszpasterstw trzeźwości. Pytania, jakie postawiono w podjętych tu rozważaniach, brzmią: Jakie obszary – z perspektywy duchowej – warto/należy ratować w małżeństwach sakramentalnych, dotkniętych problemem uzależnień i/lub przemocy, zarówno na etapie wspólnego życia, jak i na etapie życia w separacji? Jak to robić? Jakie są koszty takiego ratunku? Ostatecznie zaś: po co ratować?
This article is an afterword to the author's previously published text entitled Marriage in crisis: is it worth/necessary to save it at "any cost"? - reflections on selected problems of social welfare clients, which presented a purely secular, mainly psychological and therapeutic perspective. Addictions and violence do not bypass sacramental marriages, which, according to the Catholic faith, continue until death. However, it is possible to reconcile psychological, therapeutic recommendations with those of a spiritual nature - which is perfectly illustrated by the activities of many Catholic sobriety ministries. The questions raised by the considerations undertaken here are: What areas - from a spiritual perspective - are worth/should be saved in sacramental marriages affected by addiction and/or violence, both at the stage of living together and at the stage of living apart? How should this be done? What are the costs of such rescue? And ultimately: why rescue?

Doniesienia o wzrastającej liczbie rozwodów/separacji w Polsce, a także dane statystyczne na temat skali problemu uzależnień i przemocy (w systemie pomocy społecznej i nie tylko) stały się przyczynkiem do podjęcia teoretycznych rozważań nad potrzebą i granicami ratowania małżeństw w kryzysie dotkniętych wyżej wymienionymi problemami. Wyjaśniono: przed czym warto/należy ratować małżeństwo w kryzysie, kto ma je ratować, w jaki sposób to robić, co to znaczy „za wszelką cenę” (kto i jaką cenę ponosi) oraz gdzie się znajdują granice ratowania. Przedstawiona w tym artykule problematyka może być interesująca dla wielu doradców, terapeutów, pracowników socjalnych oraz dla małżonków uwikłanych w problem uzależnienia i/lub przemocy.
The reports on the increasing number of divorces/separations in Poland and the statistical data on the scale of the problem of addictions and violence (in the social welfare system, and not only), became a contribution to the theoretical considerations on the need and limits of saving marriages in crisis affected by the above mentioned problems. It was explained: from what it is worth/necessary to save a marriage in crisis, who is to save it, how to do it, what it means „at all costs” (who pays what price?) and where are the limits of saving? The issues presented in this article may be interested to many counselors, therapists, social workers, and spouses caught up in addiction and/or violence.

Theoreticians and practitioners of family counseling are carefully observing, analyzing and explaining a dramatically growing need for indirect help sought by problem families. The rich Internet offer of the help which is placed at the end of the article is the proof of that demand. In this situation in the of family guidance some questions are becoming especially controversial: What are the reasons for using of such a for of psychological, pedagogical legal or medical help? Is it possible that Internet advice will soon dominate or even take over the traditional help? Does the access to free and anonymous advice at any time and in any place without any barriers decide on the growing number of users. The contents of the article are a certain trial to answer the above questions. In great part they correspond to thinking und utterances of the families experiencing difficulties in solving their life problems. In the article helplessness of a family raising a handicapped child is especially emphasized. The feeling of being vulnerable in the face of disability and at the same time seeking help is fully visible in the character of the mother of little handicappedVictoria. It is an example of combining the Internet aid with direct counseling. In conclusion, having considered the points made by author, it should be admitted that the Internet family guidance may be successfully combined with a traditional direct meeting of the subjects – a counselor and a person seeking advice.

Currently, when attempts are made in various ways to weaken the family unit through the promotion of so-called open relationships, divorce and through the legalisation of homosexual partnerships, it seems that care and protection of the family unit is much more of a necessity now than in the past. That is why Pope John Paul II stated in apostolic exhortation Familiaris consortio, that care for the family should be the principal pastoral mission of the Church. Everybody, especially priests and all lay people should take all opportunities and make every effort to help married couples and families in fulfilling their basic duties. The article is devoted to tasks of family pastoral care. They are: defense of human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death; preparation for marriage and life in family; help the family and especially young married couples; family counseling; pastoral care of families that are in difficult and abnormal situations. „The Church's pastoral action must be progressive in the sense that it must follow the family, accompanying it step by step in the different stages of its formation and development” (FC 65).

The dynamics of changes in the modern world require continuous updating of analyses concerning the nature of social relations and the processes occurring therein. This paper constitutes an attempt to outline analysis of processes occurring in the family system under variable social conditions. One modern challenge researchers face is conducting research (including research of the family system) under inter- and multi-cultural conditions. This necessitates accounting for the following variables over the course of research: nature of the location where entities function, their cultural, ethnic, religious or national diversity, the fact of participation in migration phenomena, globalization trends and multiple social identities of social units or groups. The author has made both the theoretical background and specific examples of dilemmas that the author encounters in counseling practice the core of analysis, in the context of undertaken diagnostic and therapeutic measures. The situation of a mixed couple with high cultural, ethnic, religious or national diversity, dilemmas related to the dual identity of children from mixed married couples, preservation of the family system participating in migratory processes (including return migration) as well as work with immigrant families seem to be good exemplifications of the inter-cultural dilemmas encountered in the context of counseling. This is intended to increase awareness of increasingly common problems in society and social units, and simultaneously to create conditions for multi-cultural societies accounting for globalization processes that can currently be observed.

The issue of family education is one of the most recent social problems. Reflections on the problems of education in the family life of adults was the basis of the study aimed at investigating the state of readiness of adults to live together in the family in the contemporary society, the propositions of the educational institutions regarding the attempts to solve some of the problems of the education in family life, and the direct recipients of the educational influence – in other words, the adults.

CEL NAUKOWY: Celem artykułu jest analiza porad psychologicznych umieszczonych na portalu edukacyjnym Librus Rodzina z perspektywy językoznawczej. PROBLEM I METODY BADAWCZE: Problemem badawczym jest określenie zakresu tematycznego internetowych porad psychologicznych, analiza ich struktury formalnej, zastosowanych strategii nadawczo‑odbiorczych oraz mechanizmów językowych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zjawisk leksykalnych i składniowych. Wykorzystano metody badań stylistycznych, krytycznej analizy dyskursu oraz genologii lingwistycznej. PROCES WYWODU: W artykule wskazano wzrastającą rolę mediów elektronicznych w procesie wychowania, przedstawiono przyczyny i skutki tego zjawiska. W części analitycznej skoncentrowano się na omówieniu wewnętrznej architektury tekstów porad internetowych ze wskazaniem charakterystycznych dla nich mechanizmów językowych. WYNIKI ANALIZY NAUKOWEJ: W wyniku analiz stwierdzono, że zakres tematyczny internetowych porad psychologicznych dotyczy istotnych problemów nurtujących rodziców (depresje, fobie szkolne, zaburzenia mowy, emocje dziecka). Na wewnętrzną strukturę porady internetowej składa się siedem elementów składowych, a językowe ukształtowanie wypowiedzi jest typowe dla stylu popularnonaukowego, co znacząco ułatwia percepcję specjalistycznych treści przez rodziców. WNIOSKI, INNOWACJE, REKOMENDACJE: Profesjonalne porady psychologiczne umieszczane na ogólnodostępnym portalu edukacyjnym są ważnym wsparciem dla rodziców i mogą służyć doskonaleniu ich kompetencji rodzicielskich. Stanowią też uzupełnienie dotychczasowej pomocy, jaką oferują tradycyjne placówki oświatowe.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of this paper is to analyze the psychological counseling posted on the educational portal Librus Family from a linguistic perspective. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research problem is to define the thematic scope of online psychological counselling: analyze its formal structure, the applied transmission‑reception strategies and linguistic mechanisms, with particular emphasis put on lexical and syn‑ tactic phenomena. The methods used for research included stylistic research, critical discourse analysis and linguistic genology. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article indicates the increasing role of electronic media in the process of upbringing, presents the causes and consequences of this phenomenon. The analytical part focuses on the discussion of the internal architecture of Internet counselling texts with the indication of the linguistic mechanisms characteristic for them. RESEARCH RESULTS: As a result of the analyses, it was found that the thematic scope of online psychological counseling relates to important problems troubling parents (depression, school phobias, speech disorders, child emotions). The internal structure of the online advice consists of seven components, the linguistic formulation of statements is typical for the popular science style, which significantly facilitates the perception of specialized content by parents. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Professional psychological counselling on a public educational portal is an important support for parents and can improve their parenting skills. It also completes the existing support offered by traditional educational institutions.
