Opis:
Process mining techniques allow for the analysis of the real process flow. This flow might be disturbed for many reasons, including software failures. It is also possible for failure occurrence to be the consequence of the faulty process execution. A method for measuring the harmfulness of the software failure regarding business processes executed by the user would be a valuable asset for quality and reliability improvement. In this paper, we take the first step towards developing this method by providing a tool for enhancing XES event logs with failure data. We begin with an introduction to this topic and background analysis in the field of failure classification and process mining techniques supporting failure analysis. Then we present our method for merging operational and failure data. By carrying out a case study based on real data, we evaluate our tool and present the aim of our future work.

Opis:
The railway operation practice has proved that the condition of technical equipment considerably infl uences the processes of traffic organization and making-up/breaking-up trains. Operational failures lead to a lower estimated capacity of sorting facilities and, consequently, to a lower carrying capacity of stations and sections. Besides, they infl ict losses on both Ukrzaliznytsia and wagon/freight owners, thus affecting train and wagon fl ows. The objective of the study is to analyze the infl uence of failures in sorting facilities on their estimated capacity and to search for ways to minimize their negative impact. Methodology of the study is computational simulation and graphical interpretation of a 24-hour estimated capacity of the sorting hump and the lead track, the most signifi cant parameters of which are weight average values, and a variable parameter is the failure rate for technical equipment.

Opis:
This article examines the selection methodology of class surveys of a shipborne engine room and its impact on the reliability and operation indicators of a marine power plant. We describe the characteristics of four available class survey methods and then carry out a reliability analysis on the basis of four months of activity on six different ships operating on international voyages, taking into account the two most common supervision methods: renewal and continuous survey. Based on this analyses, we conclude that the reliability indices of a marine power plant, classified according to the continuous method, were slightly lower than for the renewal method. However, we identified potential benefits in terms of overall ship maintenance costs, due to a faster and more economical 5-yearly shipyard survey.

Opis:
Magnetocardiography is a sensitive technique of measuring low magnetic fields generated by heart functioning, which is used for diagnostics of large number of cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) technique is used for binary classification of myocardium current density distribution maps (CDDM) from patients with negative T-peak, male and female patients with microvessels (diffuse) abnormalities and sportsmen, which are compared with normal control subjects. Number of neighbors for k-NN classifier was selected to obtain highest classification characteristics. Specificity, accuracy, precision and sensitivity of classification as functions of number of neighbors in k-NN are obtained for classification with several distance measures: Mahalanobis, Cityblock, Eucleadian and Chebyshev. Increase of the accuracy of classification for all groups up to 10% was obtained using Cityblock distance metric in binary k-NN classifier with 19 - 27 neighbors, comparing to other metrics. Obtained results are acceptable for further patient’s state evaluation.
