Opis:
Poetic multilingualism as a variety of polylingualism, in general, is a good material for studying cultural transfers (the process of transferring knowledge between different cultures, professional communities and discourses) from both linguistic and culturological point of views. The creative work of bilingual poets, whose phenomenon has not been studied yet, is one of the guides of intercultural communication. Among such poets, Niko Gomelauri has a prominent place, who made a great contribution to both Georgian and Russian literature, nonetheless, neither Georgian nor Russian philologists study the materials based on his works. Research aims. To draw researchers’ attention to the creative works of a bilingual poet Niko Gomelauri, we present the linguistic analysis of Niko Gomelauri’s five different poems belonging to different genres, define peculiarities of his poetic works and stylistic tendencies. Research methods. Through using semantic and stylistic, descriptive and comparative methods and the analysis of dictionary articles we have thoroughly analysed Gomelauri’s poetic words. Conclusions. Linguistic anaysis of poems of different genres revealed Niko Gomelauri’s peculiar vision. A bilingual poet has a wider world vision, sees deeper and gives his poetic worlds a more philosophical idea or emotional content. The analysis of Gomelauri’s poems showed two stylistic tendencies in his poetry – deeply philosophical and mockery-colloquial

Opis:
This páper attempts to interrelate culture (as a set of values produced and received by a specific community, including its artistic and literary production) and language/speechculture/cultiva on. Its point of departure is the classic hierarchy of styles, the differentiation between high style (which is associated with cultivated, and in Czech, exclusively standardlanguage expression), middle and low style. Low style is characterized by the use of non-standard. slang and expressive means and vulgarisms, and currently extends into Czechliteratuře; the style characteristics o f which, in addition to the non-standard means listed above, are contributed to by a significant amount of English loanwords, trendy words and phi ases (often from the media and advertising spheres). The use of all means of low style by the younger generation o f Czech authors is motivated by cnrical attitudes towards thecontemporary consumption-oriented society. This is documented in the páper through examples irom two playwrights (David Drábek, Petr Kolečko) and two poets (Karel Škrabal, JanTesnohlídek, Jr.). The critical orientation of the authors is directed toward the lifestyle of the society - it is, of course, a question, how to evaluate their work from the perspective of languageculture/cultivation.

The parliamentary elections took place in Slovakia in March 2011 and in Poland in autumn 2011. The elections are connected with many propaganda materials, TV appearances, newspaper articles, billboards, etc. In the article, we discussed the language of political texts. We compared written texts in two close languages – Polish and Slovak. The issue of political communication was addressed by many Polish linguists, e.g. Bralczyk described the language of politicians of the previous regime. We were especially interested in the lexis: metaphors, neologisms, syntax, etc. Towards the end of the article, we briefly mention the use of these texts in the didactic process – in the course of translation.

Love as one of important feelings in human emotional, cognitive and social life has always attracted attention of the researchers: psychologists, linguists, philosophers, ethnologists, etc. We may speak about extralinguistic and linguistic ways of love manifestation. To linguistic ones belong, of course, stylistic means, which include lexical, syntactic, phonetic, and semasiological level. The author focuses on lexical-syntactical means of expressing love in two Slavic languages, Czech and Slovak, using linguocognitive and cultural approach. This research is inspired by the GRID project, which aimed at study of 24 emotion terms in 35 languages

Opis:
This article discusses the specificity of occasional onomasticon in the cycle of novels by Dmitriy Emets (b. 1974) featuring Tanya Grotter, which is an outstanding example of fantasy literature, playing an important role in the modern cultural space, and targeted mainly at children and teenagers. It has been established that while creating the onomastic space of the cycle the author draws parallels with J. Rowling’s novels about Harry Potter and forms onyms – occasionalisms based on the precedent names (folk, mythological, religious, literary, and historical), foreign language vocabulary, phraseology, etc. The desire to comprehend the author’s intention and to understand the characteristics presented in onyms not only motivates readers to expand their horizon, but also engages them in cross-cultural communication.
