    Opis:
    This paper deals with expressive lexis, which is understood as the expression of emotions. Through this prism we would like to present a picture of the world which is formed by the opposites, emotional – rational. This picture would also present some examples of speech that is created in the mind as a result of man’s preferences and values. The relation of language and mind, formation of a picture of the world on the basis of both linguistic and extralinguistic foundations, projection of emotions and assessments on language – all of these components are inspiring avenues and this paper trys to enlighten the basis of expressive linguistic inventory of the users of the Slovak language.

    Word tęczowy in Polish. Meaning and expressive stability Adjective tęczowy is a wildcard, derived from the noun tęcza, which has sources in the Slavic language. With the development of Polish, the meanings of the tęczowy are increasing, especially expressive. Modern lexicographical sources do not record them all. A full picture in this area can be obtained by analyzing language corpora and any other sources, including verbal and graphic resources of the Internet. Some of the meanings of the discussed lexeme have no expressive character, others are a sign of emotions. Emotional value, however, depends not only on meaning, but it is also conditioned pragmatically. Certain meanings can be attributed to positive or negative expression – depending on who the text sender is.

    W artykule przedstawiono językowe sposoby wyrażenia radości we współczesnym języku rosyjskim i polskim. Obiekt badań stanowią przykłady pochodzące z Internetu, przede wszystkim z blogów i forów internetowych. Przyjęto, że sposób wyrażenia radości zależy od rodzaju omawianej emocji. Pierwszy typ to radość jako wewnętrzne uczucie zadowolenia, drugi zaś – radość jako spontaniczna reakcja. Pierwszy typ wyrażany jest przede wszystkim poprzez opisanie wewnętrznego stanu emocjonalnego nadawcy i realizuje się za pomocą form eksplicytnych typu: я радуюсь, мне радостно, меня это радует / cieszę się, cieszy mnie to, nie posiadam się z radości itd. Drugi zaś to spontaniczne reagowanie, wyrażane za pomocą implicytnych środków językowych. W artykule omawiane są także sytuacje, w których nadawca próbuje ukryć pozytywne emocje, w tym radość.
    The article presents linguistic ways of expressing joy in the present-day Russian and Polishlanguages. The analysis is based on examples taken from the Internet, first of all from blogs andInternet forums. The way of expressing joy depends on the type of the emotion in question. Thefirst type is represented by ‘a joy as an inner feeling of satisfaction’, the second – ‘a joy as a spontaneousreaction’. The first type is expressed first of all through describing an inner emotionalstate of the sender [of the message] and has an explicit form such as: я радуюсь, мне радостно,меня это радует / cieszę się, cieszy mnie to, nie posiadam się z radości, etc. The second one –a spontaneous reaction – is expressed by implicit linguistic forms. The article also deals with thesituations in which the sender tries to hide positive emotions, including joy.

    This paper is concerned with expressive vocabulary used by high school students and university students in Bialystok. It focuses on names denoting people, paying particular attention to those terms which have not been recorded in any dictionaries of general Polish. The items in question have been collected by means of questionnaires, and analysed in terms of their semantic and morphological properties. Attention has been given to such ways of enriching the lexicon as neologisms, borrowings and the employment of linguistic stereotypes. The author’s findings enable the identification of the mechanisms which are responsible for the creation of such expressive terms; they also reveal the most popular and fashionable names used by the young people. This paper demonstrates that the majority of expressive names used by high school and university students are pejorative in character. The names they use are often disrespectful, ironic and or vulgar; those of a positive character are substantially less common.

    W artykule podjęto tematykę czasowników dźwiękonaśladowczych związanych z czynnością jedzenia w kontekście ich nacechowania ekspresywnego we współczesnej polszczyźnie. Autorka zwróciła uwagę na czasowniki, które według Macieja Mączyńskiego wskazują na „świński” model jedzenia (m.in. ciamkać, glamać, mlaskać, siorbać), zweryfikowała, które z nich we współczesnych słownikach ogólnych języka polskiego notowane są w znaczeniach związanych z jedzeniem oraz poddała analizie mikrostrukturę haseł, wskazując na sygnały świadczące o nacechowaniu ekspresywnym czasowników. Wnioski na temat współczesnego nacechowania ekspresywnego analizowanych czasowników odniosła do ustaleń psychologów dotyczących mizofonii oraz oparła na obserwacji nowych zjawisk i trendów w internecie, do których zaliczyła ASMR, mukbangi oraz food challenges. Analiza kontekstów wykazała, że współcześnie nastawienie do odgłosów wydawanych podczas jedzenia jest zróżnicowane i uwarunkowane czynnikami biologicznymi, kulturowymi, psychologicznymi i społecznymi.
    This article discusses the topic of echoic verbs related to the act of eating in the context of their expressive nature in contemporary Polish. The author pays attention to verbs that, according to Maciej Mączyński, indicate the “piggish” model of eating (including ciamkać, glamać, mlaskać, siorbać), verifies which of them are noticed in modern general dictionaries of the Polish language with meanings related to food, and analyses the microstructure of the entries, pointing to indications of the expressive nature of the verbs. She refers the conclusions on the contemporary expressive nature of the analysed verbs to the fi ndings of psychologists regarding misophonia. Moreover, she bases them on observing new phenomena and trends on the Internet, including ASMR, mukbangs, and food challenges. The analysis of contexts has shown that the today’s atitude to the sounds made while eating is differentiated and determined by biological, cultural, psychological, and social factors.
