W artykule zaprezentowano działania związane z przeprowadzeniem eksperymentów na polach doświadczalnych w warunkach nasłonecznienia naturalnego, które obejmowały opracowanie metodyki badawczej uprawy buraka ćwikłowego z zastosowaniem polepszacza glebowego z odpadowego gnejsu i dolomitu oraz zaprojektowanie i przygotowanie pól doświadczalnych wraz z określeniem odpowiednich dawek mieszanek skalnych do zaplanowanych serii badawczych.
The article presents activities related to the conduct of experiments in experimental fields under natural sunflow, which included the development of a research methodology for the cultivation of beetroot with the use of a soil improver made of waste gneiss and dolomite, as well as the design and preparation of experimental fields along with the determination of appropriate doses of rock mixtures for the planned research series.

Military vehicles are used less intensively than the civil ones, and many types of the vehicles used by the army are stored for a long time. Therefore, this type of vehicles can be used even for a dozens of years. Due to the constant development of technology, used armament and military equipment has to be adjusted to current needs. The above applies also to recovery vehicles, including field workshops. This work analyses the level of safety and comfort of the crew of the modified field workshop (Sarna II) when the vehicle is moving under various conditions. The scope of improvement included two seats inside workshop for the transportation of the crew members. Experimental research involved measuring the accelerations on the seats of the crew and the noise inside the vehicle body. The assessment was conducted on the basis of the highest value of 8-hour of the exposure to the whole body vibrations A(8). The accelerations acting on the seats were determined mainly by the kind of the road, its roughness and the speed of the vehicle. The occupational risk connected with the exposure to the mechanical vibrations was in most cases assessed to be low or moderate. The risk was assessed to be high only when the vehicle was moving on the dirt road. Results of experimental researches indicated that passengers travelling in the body of Sarna II workshop, mounted on the underbody of STAR 266M2 vehicle, have ensured proper conditions of transport, both in terms of exposure to mechanical vibrations and to the noise.

This study presents the possible consequences of maintaining the current regulatory regime of the experimental release of genetically modified higher plants in the EU for the products of new genomic techniques (NGTs). Currently, the experimental release is a crucial stage before the authorization of a product for the market. By analyzing the data on the performance of field trials in the EU (numbers, sizes, dominating countries) and comparing the present regulatory provisions with those of selected third countries (including new provisions adopted in the UK), this study shows that the current framework of GMO (genetically modified organisms) field trials is ill-fitted for breeding activities. Due to strict limitations placed on the operator of a field trial in the EU, easing the regulatory burdens on the authorization of certain NGT products for the market may not provide researchers (especially, plant breeders) the competitive position they need if the present legal conditions for carrying out GMO field trials with certain NGT products (especially, those that are considered GMOs covered by the EU GMO legislation) are not going to change as well.

Celem pracy było przedstawienie wyników badań z doświadczenia polowego, przeprowadzonego w 2010 roku w Zakładzie Doświadczalnym IWNiRZ w Pętkowie, w którym materiałem badawczym było 12 dawnych, polskich odmian lnu, wyhodowanych w Polsce oraz zapoznanie potencjalnych użytkowników z charakterystyką przechowywanych obiektów lnu (Linum usitatissimum L.).
The aim of the study was to present the results of research from a field experiment carried out in 2010 at the IWNiRZ Experimental Station in Pętkowo, in which the research material was 12 old Polish varieties of flax, bred in Poland, and to familiarize potential users with the characteristics of the stored flax objects (Linum usitatissimum L. ).

Opis:
Dynamic characteristics for three types of railgun constructions were simulated and measured in this work. The simplest construction is the iron-less (IL) railgun, while the two other ones (IC and ICPM) have an iron-core. The iron-core permanent magnet (ICPM) railgun additionally has permanent magnets. To compare their characteristics, similar dimensions of the rails and iron cores were adopted, and the same power supply system was used. Numerical magnetic field analyses and our analytical models have been used to determine the electromagnetic parameters. They were verified experimentally. The transient states of the railguns were studied with our field-circuit mathematical model, and their results were also verified by experiments.

The paper presents selected simulation and experimental results of a hybrid ECPMS-machine (Electric Controlled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine). This permanent magnets (PMs) excited machine offers an extended magnetic field control capability which makes it suitable for battery electric vehicle (BEV) drives. Rotor, stator and the additional direct current control coil of the machine are analyzed in detail. The control system and strategy, the diagram of power supply system and an equivalent circuit model of the ECPMS-machine are presented. Influence of the additional excitation on the performance parameters of the machine, such as: torque, efficiency, speed limits and back-EMF have also been discussed.

The paper presents three novel rotor design concepts for a three-phase electric controlled permanent magnet synchronous machine (ECPMS-machine) with hybrid excitation. The influence of magnets and flux-barriers arrangement on the magnetic field distribution and field-weakening characteristics of the machine is examined, based on a three-dimensional finite element analysis (3D-FEA). Moreover, a prototype rotor design based on a new rotor concept with a good field-weakening capability is presented in detail. Finally, the experimental results of no-load back electromotive force (back-EMF) waveforms and field-weakening characteristics versus a control coil current of the machine are reported.
