Opis:
The research was conducted in the framework of the project known as „Coupon for innovations - support for the smallest companies”, endorsed by the Polish Agency for the Development of Business, and it had the following objectives: to assess the efficiency of the collector and reliability of the applied parameters such as the force of warm air blast, temperature increase depending on the intensity of solar radiation and the angle of the collector setup, influence of ambient temperature on the collector’s efficiency and heat loss, the quantity of relative humidity reduction correlative with the heating up of the flowing air. Collector in a standard installation position - on a vertical wall. The assessed solar air collector was exposed to solar radiation and the following parameters were measured in the course of study: intensity of solar radiation falling on a vertical surface and on the collector’s surface (the collector was installed in vertical position, which is a standard installation method), temperature and velocity of air flowing into the collector as well as temperature and velocity of air flowing out of the device. The studies indicate that already at the radiation value of 100 W m-2 the collector worked efficiently and heated up the flowing air by about 5oC. This temperature increased together with radiation and reached the value of 20oC at the radiation of 800 W m-2. The analysis of the collector’s efficiency showed that during its work (proper temperature and radiation) the efficiency remained at a satisfactory level from 42 to 46%.

Opis:
Soil moisture and evaporation are the most important elements of the terrestrial water cycle. In situ data from 14 stations with soil moisture observations, 13 stations with pan evaporation and 200 stations with precipitation measurements are used to analyse temporal changes in these elements of the terrestrial water cycle over the Russian part of the Baltic Sea Drainage Basin. It was determined that soil moisture, pan evaporation and visible evaporation have exhibited significant changes during the past 45 years. These changes reflect the non-uniform character of moistening changes over the Russian part of the Baltic Sea region.

Opis:
A new phenomenon of a sharp jump - like increase of the moisture potential is established in the transition of positive soil temperature values through zero to the region of negative values. The process proceeds under conditions of a phase transition of the soil solution with the stable state of all other soil parameters. The decrease of the moisture potential (at constant humidity) under conditions of temperature increase is explained by the increase in mobility and activity of moisture ions. The decrease in temperature causes an increase in the potential due to a decrease in the activity and mobility of water ions. This phenomenon is similar to reducing the moisture content in soil. Daily changes in soil temperature and soil moisture potential are insignificant and is in the range 0.1÷1.9°C and 2÷3 kPa respectively.

Opis:
In this study, nickel nanoparticles were synthesized in ethanol using portable pulsed wire evaporation, which is a one-step physical method. From transmission electron microscopy images, it was found that the Ni nanoparticles exhibited a spherical shape with an average diameter of 7.3 nm. To prevent aggregation of the nickel nanoparticles, a polymer surfactant was added into the ethanol before the synthesis of nickel nanoparticles, and adsorbed on the freshly synthesized nickel nanoparticles during the wire explosion. The dispersion stability of the prepared nickel nanofluids was investigated by zeta-potential analyzer and Turbiscan optical analyzer. As a result, the optimum concentration of polymer surfactant to be added was suggested for the maximized dispersion stability of the nickel nanofluids.
