    The pro-ethic orientation is an unappreciated quality in human resource management in Polish companies. Its reference points include not only systemic solutions, but also the moral conviction of employees, especially of the managerial staff. The purpose of this communication is a qualitative analysis of moral standards guiding managers in taking decisions regarding dismissals. The research material consists of reports on the part of managers on their ethical dilemmas when faced with the undertaking of difficult staff decisions. Distributive and procedural justice models were utilized in classifying standards. Analysis results prove that ethical positions that represent a 'welfare ethic', the basis of which is an orientation for protecting the basic needs of the worker that are threatened by loss of a job, dominate.

    Transplantology is constantly evolving. New challenges are emerging, including those related to transplants after suicide. Concerned for the welfare of donor families who have experienced the trauma of a loved one’s suicide, it is important that the donation decision process be as minimally burdensome as possible. Therefore, it is important to raise public awareness of organ donation in the context of suicide. Educating the public can help break down the barriers and false beliefs about the process. Although suicide is a profoundly tragic event, the opportunity to donate an organ to save another person’s life is extremely valuable. The purpose of this paper is to show the legal and ethical treatment of organ transplantation from suicidal patients. The article presents a case report of a person who committed suicide, but for whom resuscitation was undertaken in the prehospital setting, despite severe craniocerebral trauma, and a return of spontaneous circulation was achieved. Subsequent in-hospital efforts made it possible to successfully maintain vital functions and declare brain death. The commitment of the medical personnel and the professional discussions with the patient's family made it possible to obtain consent for the donation of seven organs.

    AIDS is an example of the global threat. In my article I would like to present the most important ethical dilemmas related to global outspreading of AIDS/HIV epidemic in the world and also make an attempt of finding a possible solution. I assume that the dilemmas could be described in three basic dimensions: The first discussed ethical problem is related to treating sick people by the healthy people. We observe the discrimination of people suffering from AIDS/HIV and it stands in opposition to Christianity and Church which commands to accept sick people, to respect and help them. The second discussed aspect concerns ethical challenges that modern medicine must face regarding the outspread of AIDS and HIV. On one hand, medical stuff who have contact with blood must incessantly confront their fear of infection with duty of helping people and providing medical care. On the other hand, medical professionals may encounter the moral dilemma how to keep medical records in secret and protect interests of people who are exposed to infection. The last important ethical dimension of global AIDS epidemic and other civilisation illnesses, which has been recently observed, is the polarization of the world in the field of health.

    The paper explains what ethical dilemmas a public relations specialist meets when dealing with the process of crisis management. The business ethics of each organisation is created by behaviours and decisions of its employees and managers. The cores of business ethics are values, which influence and determine the activities in every situation. In the time of business scandals, lack of political stability and difficult economic situation there have been some issues and questions expecting for rapid answers. Events such as creative accounting and frauds have shaken audience confidence and loyalty. Tragic accidents during terrorist attacks have also alarmed people in both the economy and society. The mentioned events which involve high profile organizations make many business specialists be more concern about business ethics, responsibility as well as corporate image and reputation. As a result, when managing a crisis a public relations professional has to solve unexpected ethical dilemmas. The ethical values with the idea of responsibility at the top are of significant importance for the contemporary business.

    There are topics that concern society on a narrow or wide scale, but ethics are permeated continuously throughout the society. Ethics is not only a discipline of practical philosophy examining the standards of human moral conduct, but in the professional level it is primarily a method of thinking and a sort of compass for the professional activity of an individual, in the dimensions of dignity, honour and conscience. It does not decide itself, but it provides opportunities for free choice of moral choice and voluntariness of action. Every field of human activity, and therefore also the field of health care, has its own moral imperatives, rules and norms, the observance of which is ensured primarily by conscience within the mechanism of self-reflection. We act in the background of conscience to preserve our moral integrity and honour, act so that we can respect ourselves and not lose the respect of others. It's not just expert knowledge, but above all an ethical human approach that makes a real and good health care professional. The reason for presenting our contribution is an outline of the current current discourse on medical ethics in the Czech Republic. Its source is the above-mentioned publication line, but above all the empirical practical experience of the author, reflected in the theoretical character of the article The open and still unresolved ethical dilemmas that doctors meet in their profession are many and for this reason the title of the article is conceived in the sense of an open name - medical ethics in dimensions, respectively. in the dimensions of perhaps never ending ethical issues concerning health.

    W artykule skierowano uwagę ku etycznym aspektom zawodu nauczyciela w kontekście działań związanych z przeciwdziałaniem przemocy w szkole. Podjęty problem reakcji nauczyciela na sytuację przemocy rówieśniczej wśród uczniów jest złożony i wielowymiarowy, ze względu na zarówno złożoność samego problemu przemocy rówieśniczej i jego uwarunkowań, jak i ze względu na różne sprawy i czynniki, które jednocześnie oddziałują na nauczyciela i doprowadzają do podjęcia przez niego decyzji w konkretnej sytuacji. Prowadzone analizy mają na celu przybliżenie i zrozumienie sytuacji nauczyciela wobec problemu przemocy rówieśniczej, która może być rozpatrywana w kategoriach dylematu etycznego. Potraktowano zatem sytuację reakcji na przemoc jako rodzaj sytuacji problemowej, związanej z wykonywaniem zawodu, w której trzeba ustosunkować się do sprzecznych moralnych zobowiązań (obowiązków) i dokonać wyboru. W tekście rozpatrzono możliwe „siły konkurujące” wpływające na nauczyciela, który jest zobowiązany do podjęcia wspomnianej decyzji.
    The article focuses on the ethical aspects of the teaching profession in the context of activities related to counteracting violence at school. The problem of teacher’s reaction to the situation of peer violence among students is complex and multidimensional, due to both the complexity of the problem of peer violence and its determinants, and due to various issues and factors that simultaneously affect the teacher and lead him to make a decision in a specific situation. The conducted analyzes are aimed at bringing the teacher’s situation closer to and understanding the problem of peer violence, which can be considered in terms of ethical dilemma. Therefore, the situation of reaction to violence was treated as a kind of problematic situation related to the profession, in which one has to respond to conflicting moral obligations (duties) and make a choice. The text considers the possible “competing forces” affecting the teacher, who is obliged to take the decision.

    The article aims to describe vulnerable groups in the context of qualitative research in social science with special attention to ethical and methodological dilemmas. This is a theoretical study, which does not aspire to offer solutions or guidelines, but rather show elements worth taking notice of and analyzing when research is planned and carried out. We argue that in the social sciences, vulnerability is relational and crucial. However, social science researchers perceive the category of vulnerability as ambiguous and nuanced. This article shows that ascribing research participants univocally to a vulnerable group may lead not only to them being stereotyped and deprived of individuality but also to a situation where the research act itself disempowers them. We also argue that apart from issues often raised concerning the protection of participants from vulnerable groups, the researcher and their protection are also pivotal, particularly when the researcher, due to their involvement, abandons the out-group perspective or when they belong to the vulnerable group.

    Niniejszy tekst obejmuje refleksje nad wyzwaniami, jakie napotyka psycholog prowadzący psychoterapię w szkole. Zadanie to wymaga dużej czujności terapeuty, który powinien przede wszystkim dbać o dobrostan swojego klienta i jego bezpieczeństwo emocjonalne. Jednocześnie specjalistę obowiązuje prawo oświatowe, regulujące jego obowiązki w placówce, kodeks etyczny psychologa oraz formalne i nieformalne zasady funkcjonowania szkoły. Praktyk, który podejmuje się prowadzenia psychoterapii, musi pozostawać uważny na wszystkie wymienione aspekty i ich konsekwencje dla procesu terapeutycznego.
    This paper includes reflections on several issues that a school counsellor willing to run psychotherapy at school needs to face. This task requires a great deal of vigilance on the part of a therapist, who should, above all, take care of the client’s well-being and emotional safety. At the same time, a specialist is obliged to obey the educational law regulating his duties in the institution, the psychologist’s code of ethics, and both formal and informal rules of the school functioning. A practitioner who conducts psychotherapy must remain attentive to all these aspects and their consequences for the therapeutic process.

    Mowa nienawiści jest zjawiskiem powszechnie występującym w języku współczesnej polityki i sferze życia publicznego. Choć samo zjawisko mowy nienawiści nie powinno budzić żadnych wątpliwości odnośnie do jego nagannej oceny, to jednak łączy się z dylematami etycznymi – mowa nienawiści może jawić się jako narzędzie użyte w słusznej sprawie czy też jako działanie zasadnie piętnujące niekwestionowalne zło. Jednocześnie przyzwolenie na mowę nienawiści prowadzi do relatywizacji dobra i zła – jest tożsame z akceptacją „mniejszego zła”. Autorzy artykułu konkludują, że ustawodawstwo europejskie powinno położyć większy nacisk na stworzenie spójnej definicji mowy nienawiści, która byłaby tożsama dla wszystkich państw członkowskich UE, oraz penalizację tego zjawiska. W ślad za prawem europejskim prawo krajowe powinno odpowiadać na wyzwania współczesności. Niewątpliwie jednym z nich jest wszechobecność języka nienawiści w debacie publicznej.
    Hate speech is a common phenomenon in the language of contemporary politics and in public life. Although the phenomenon of hate speech itself should not raise any doubts as to its reprehensible nature, it is nevertheless connected with ethical dilemmas - hate speech may appear as a tool used in a just cause or as an action legitimately stigmatizing unquestionable evil. At the same time, consenting to hate speech leads to the relativization of good and evil - it is synonymous with accepting the lesser evil. The authors of the article conclude that European legislation should place greater emphasis on creating a coherent definition of hate speech, which would be the same for all EU Member States, and on penalizing this phenomenon. In line with European law, national law should respond to the challenges of the present day. Undoubtedly, one of them is the omnipresence of hate speech in public debate.
