Opis:
Aircraft range is one of the most important criteria of the assessment of the performance properties of an aircraft. For the needs of the paper the mathematical model of an aircraft (multi-purpose aircraft) and the engine which propels the aircraft was built (turbofan, two-spool, with jet mixer). For the analysis it was chosen so-called typical Breguet model and the conventional range. The models were modified as they should consider the characteristics of the engine in the non-dimensional form. The aim of the simulation research was to discuss the influence of the engine parameters (geometrical and thermodynamic) on the aircraft range, realized mainly in the subsonic and supersonic conditions. The decision which of these conditions can have a significant influence on the selection of the calculating point (i.e. the point which determines the geometrical dimensions of the engine) is difficult as there is no clear direction which aircrafts make up the important share in a mission or missions. It was decided that the parameter which connects the engine geometry with the range model is so-called non-dimensional coefficient of engine geometry which is the relation of the area on the inlet to the engine related to the wing area of the aircraft. It was shown that for various parameters of the engine cycle it is possible to show such a value of the non-dimensional coefficient of geometry which maximizes the aircraft range. The results obtained show opposite requirements as for the engine geometry for the subsonic and supersonic flight. On this basis the compromise solution was proposed to fulfil the requirements of the multi-purpose aircraft.

Opis:
The paper describes major designs of adaptive jet engines as well as their structural and operational advantages. Attention is paid to actual thermodynamic cycles of such engines and energy balance of flows. Particular attention paid to a double-rotor engine designed by Pratt & Whitney, where a portion of air is bled from downstream of the compressor and then supplied to the area downstream the turbine when the engine is operated at its maximum performance (turbine bypass engine). Then attention is paid to actual thermodynamic cycles of such engines and energy balance of flows. It was shown that real working cycles of these engines represent figures with variable surface areas, which is the reason for the second name of these units - engines with variable thermodynamic cycle. It is explained how basic parameters of such engines affect sensitiveness of operating cycles and controllability. The analysis has been conducted separately for internal and external channel. The sensitivity analysis for the working cycle makes it possible to select parameters that are potentially controllable and adjustable. To sum up the foregoing deliberations one has to state that operation of turbojet adaptive engines is the topic that needs much more investigation. Even the design solution of the engine itself, although being really exciting and promising, is troublesome in the aspects of the design and process engineering, and will lead to a series of operation and maintenance problems.

Opis:
The paper contains results of tests on the spark ignited (SI) engine modified to work as the engine with the overexpanded thermodynamic Miller cycle. Investigation was particularly focused on thermodynamic properties of the applied Miller cycle as well as combustion progress in the supercharged engine fuelled with various gaseous fuels as follows: coke gas, natural gas and hydrogen. Crucial conclusions deal with experimental investigation. The conclusions showed the following: IMEP was maintained at the same level with aid of supercharging, thermal indicated efficiency increased.

Opis:
The article presents an analysis of research on a series of passenger vehicles equipped with diesel and spark-ignition engines of modern generation. These studies show the attempt to determine the consistency of the measurement results presented by the electrical motor with respect to the external direct measurements determining the level ecological driving unit such as a gas analyzer. The premise of this material is to assess the suitability of the read actual parameters sent by the ECU as the data source the level of organic vehicle, for example. The test for diagnostic station with annual regular reviews. The inspiration for the material was the attempt to determine the sensitivity of the self-diagnosis system of the propulsion unit, which correctness of the diagnosis itself is one of the criteria of the positive periodic test guidelines.
