Opis:
The energy transition is at the centre of research and development activities with the aim to fight against the effects of global warming. Today, renewable energies play a significant role in the electricity supply to the World and their use increases day after day. Because of the intermittency of a large-scale production system generates the need to develop clean energy storage systems. Hence, energy storage systems play is one of key elements in the energy transition. In this perspective, a green hydrogen is defined as an energy carrier thanks to its high energy density in relation to its negligible mass, not to mention its abundance in our environment, and its extraction, which does not contribute to any greenhouse gases. However, the production cost is not negligible. Hence, this work shows a numerical modelling of the heat balance from a green hydrogen production system using a thermal storage in a Metal Hydride (MH) tank for an electrification by Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell integrated into the production of heating, cooling and sanitary hot water (SHW) through the recovery of the heat released by the whole system combined with the technology of thermally activated cooling of an adsorber. This allows demonstrating that the green hydrogen can be an interesting solution according in the hydrogen production chain and in the tertiary sectors.

Opis:
The prospective of the application of new materials on a polymer base is shown in this work. Given that developed composites can be efficiently used for protection of equipment that is operated at elevated temperatures, the impact of the nature and content of powder mixture, synthesised by high voltage electric discharge, on the thermophysical properties of epoxy composites were studied. Epoxy diane oligomer was chosen as the main component of the binder during the formation of the composites. Polyethylene polyamine hardener was used for cross-linking of epoxy composites, which allows hardening of materials at room temperatures. The selection of powder mixture, synthesised by high voltage electric discharge, for increase of thermophysical properties of developed materials was justified. More so, thermal stability and activation energy of epoxy composites were studied. Permissible limits of the temperature, at which developed materials can be used, were established based on the conducted tests of thermophysical properties of materials, filled by powder mixture, synthesised by high voltage electric discharge.

Opis:
Solar energy is the most affordable source of energy. Parabolic trough systems are used to concentrate and extract heat, therefore it’s very significant to analyse its performance in terms of energy and exergy. Exergy based analysis of the system ensures the eradication of losses, resulting in the yield of energy of the highest quality. In this paper, an investigation has been carried out using numerical simulation with an objective of analysis of Parabolic Trough Collectors on the basis of energy and exergy. Detailed second law analysis has been performed by varying the system and operating parameters through computer simulation. Exergy output has been determined by analysing the effect of major system parameters, namely, mirror reflectivity, glass transmissivity, absorptivity, the diameter of glass envelop, and the receiver. The operating parameters considered in the investigation are insolation and temperature rise parameters. The extensive investigation of the parabolic trough of a concentrated solar power plant for various design parameters in the range of operating parameters reveals that it is beneficial to operate the system at higher temperature as opposed to the preference of the operating system at lower temperature from purely thermal considerations.

Opis:
The assessment methodology for the sustainability of buildings is based on the analysis of environmental, social and economic performance. The main purpose of the paper is the presentation of energy-related conditions and envelope properties as well as methodology aspects. The first part of the paper presents the literature review on sustainability and zero-energy buildings. The second part is devoted to describe different energy indicators for the evaluation of primary energy requirements and energy characteristic. The last section describes the general methodology for characterization of energetic properties of the building envelope and gives examples from literature of the effect of applications in a building’s envelope an aerogel based thermal insulation for higher thermal transmittance and a PCM for higher latent heat capacity with general description of results obtained by other authors. The crucial measure is the use of high thermal performance components for the building’s envelopes combined with the heat storage potential. In the context of sustainability, energy related conditions constitute a new set of indicators for identifying the usefulness and the efficiency of new technologies.
