    The aim of the article is to explain the meaning of the school emotional culture concept. The article presents following terms: culture, school culture, emotional culture. A few different views on the problem were presented in the text – the views of such sociologists as Erving Goffman, Arlie Hochschild and Steven Gordon. These are the scientists who introduced many new categories to the discussion on the topic of the social contexts of creating and expressing emotions. These are the categories: emotional culture, the feeling rules, emotional ideologies, emotional labour, emotional practice of teaching. By bringing up the issue the author points at the immense heuristic potential of emotional culture and exposes new and interesting fields for the scientists in the educational domain.

    Istotę muzycznego oswajania dzieci ze strachem, w kontekście mojego artykułu, stanowi piosenka, dotycząca tematyki strachu, której odpowiedni dobór pod względem treści emocjonalnej i muzycznej stwarza szeroką przestrzeń do organizowania rozmaitych działań edukacyjnych. Jej poznanie ma zatem wymiar istotny nie tylko ze względu na aspekt muzyczny i kulturowy, ale także emocjonalny. Na podstawie badania dokumentów i analizy materiału symbolicznego w artykule podejmuję próbę odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące sposobu wyrażenia emocji strachu w warstwie tekstowej i muzycznej piosenek dla dzieci.
    The gist of familiarizing children with fear by music, in the context of this article, is a song, covering a fear topic. Adequate choice of such a song, in terms of emotional and musical contents, creates a wide space to arrange different educational actions. Knowing the song has therefore not only musical or cultural aspect, but the emotional one as well. On the grounds of studying documents and symbolic material analysis, I will try to answer a following question in this article: What's the way of expressing the emotion of fear in textual and musical layers in children songs.

    The presented study employed an emotional intelligence framework as a means of explicitly examining the emotional competences and experiencing job satisfaction or burnout. Emotional intelligence is hypothesized to have a positive relationship with higher job satisfaction and negative with burnout. Firstly, the variables are discussed on the basis of existing concepts and research. The second part presents my own research: methodology outline, main data and discussion. Results showed that emotional intelligence was a negative significant predictor (r=0.54, p<0.05) of burnout symptoms, and a positive significant predictor of job satisfaction (r=0.37, p<0.05). The paper concludes with a discussion of the pedagogical implications, teaching professionalization and recommendations for future research.

    The human ability to “cope in life” is not, as Daniel Goleman asserted at the end of the 20th century, based only on an individual’s cognitive skills. Goleman’s assertion decisively changed the way that individuals think about man’s “emotional talents,” but the reality is that emotional skills are largely congenital, even though current research demonstrates that they can be developed. Indeed, research in the social sciences has been focusing on emotional intelligence, which may be an important determinant of education quality. This article presents the results of research on the state of the emotional intelligence of students who are preparing to become teachers. This research is part of a broader project that seeks to determine the emotional factors that aid the education process.
    Ludzkie umiejętności „radzenia sobie w życiu” nie opierają się tylko na umiejętnościach kognitywnych, co ogłosił pod koniec XX wieku Daniel Goleman, a co spowodowało zdecydowany zwrot w myśleniu o „wyposażeniu emocjonalnym” człowieka. Umiejętności emocjonalne są w dużej mierze wrodzone, jednak z pewnością, co potwierdzają współczesne badania, można je rozwijać. I rzeczywiście ostatnio coraz większe zainteresowanie badań w naukach społecznych koncentruje się wokół obszaru inteligencji emocjonalnej, która stanowić może ważne determinanty jakości edukacji. W artykule zostały przedstawione wyniki badań, mających na celu rozpoznanie stanu inteligencji emocjonalnej studentów przygotowujących się do pełnienia roli nauczyciela. Jest to fragment szerszego projektu badawczego, w którym poszukiwane są czynniki emocjonalne wspierające proces edukacji.

    A new type of dictionary – a psychological linguistic dictionary was compiled as a result of analyzing 15918 Russian adjectives from the perspective of their relationship with emotions originating in reference to various senses. The dictionary contains information on “the emotional load” of these adjectives, that is how pleasant or how unpleasant emotions a given adjective evokes. The analyzed lexemes were assessed by respondents on the scale of emotions: slightly (un)pleasant – moderately (un)pleasant – very (un)pleasant, which was marked with an appropriate number of pluses or minuses. Although it is believed that representatives of different cultures experience universal emotions, their quality and intensity hidden behind particular linguistic units can diverge for different cultural linguistic communities. Emotions are conditioned socially, culturally and historically; they play an important role in international communication. Thus, when they are incompetently and mistakenly interpreted, this can disturb dialogue between various cultures and even lead to conflicts. In the article, considering equivalents mięsny/мясной and other counterparts, it can be said that not all the examples have a parallel emotional value. Despite the genealogical relationship between the languages and cultures in question, emotive contrasts are not rare. This leads to considering a significant issue of emotive adequacy of dictionary equivalents, which has to be addressed by translators and language teachers.

    The talk discusses the place of emotions in human language competence at the interface of two languages and cultures. It aims to identify possibilities for non-native speakers of L2 to raise effectively emotional awareness in L2 didactic contexts.The relevance of general language awareness raising is presented, especially as the scope and use of L2 emotion concepts are shown to require of the L2 learner, at some stage, conscious apprehension and awareness of L2 input. The place and role of L1 and L2 materials generated from monolingual and parallel language corpora in enhancement of emotional awareness in FL classroom are exemplified and discussed.
