Opis:: The defuzzification of a type-2 fuzzy set is a two stage process consisting of firstly type-reduction, and secondly defuzzification of the resultant type-1 set. This paper considers three approaches to discrete interval type-reduction: 1. The exhaustive method which produces the Type-Reduced Set, 2. the Greenfield-Chiclana Collapsing Defuzzifier which gives rise to the Representative Embedded Set Approximation, and 3. the Nie-Tan Method from which the Nie-Tan Set is derived. In the discrete case these three type-1 sets are distinct. The behavior of the three sets under fine discretisation is investigated experimentally, in order to shed light on the relationships between the continuous versions of these type-1 sets.

Opis:: Currently, a large number of trait selection methods are used. They are becoming more and more of interest among researchers. Some of the methods are of course used more frequently. The article describes the basics of selection-based algorithms. FS methods fall into three categories: filter wrappers, embedded methods. Particular attention was paid to finding examples of applications of the described methods in the diagnosis of skin melanoma.
Obecnie stosuje się wiele metod selekcji cech. Cieszą się coraz większym zainteresowaniem badaczy. Oczywiście niektóre metody są stosowane częściej. W artykule zostały opisane podstawy działania algorytmów opartych na selekcji. Metody selekcji cech należące dzielą się na trzy kategorie: metody filtrowe, metody opakowujące, metody wbudowane. Zwrócono szczególnie uwagę na znalezienie przykładów zastosowań opisanych metod w diagnostyce czerniaka skóry.

Opis:: Real time processing enables online reactions to dynamic environment changes. The author focuses on possibilities of implementing the Finite Element Method (FEM) to real time algorithms on microcontrollers. The paper presents the current state of the Real Time Finite Element Method (RTFEM) and describes results obtained by the author. The RTFEM for microcontrollers (with examples of use cases) is presented and results of the computations for the chosen platform are given. The results consider optimization of RTFEM computational algorithms for a microcontroller taking into account their execution time. All the tests were performed on the ARM-CortexM4F based STM32F429ZIT6 microcontroller. The obtained results were compared, discussed and presented in the paper.

Opis:: In this paper, the problem of modeling of mixed mode cracking in concrete structures is addressed within the context of a constitutive law with embedded discontinuity (CLED). This approach, which was originally developed for describing the propagation of localized deformation in a “smeared” sense, is enhanced here to model a discrete nature of crack propagation. The latter is achieved by coupling the CLED approach with the level-set method, which is commonly used within the framework of Extended Finite Element (XFEM). Numerical simulations of experimental tests conducted at Delft University, which involve four-point bending of a notched concrete beam under the action of two independent actuators, are presented. The results based on enhanced CLED approach are directly compared with XFEM simulations. The predictions from both these methodologies are quite consistent with the experimental data, thereby giving advantage to CLED scheme in view of its simplicity in the numerical implementation.

Opis:: The possibility of the embedded automatic-control system construction for a self-adjusted regulator design on the basis of dynamic compensation principle is observed. The description of mathematical and algorithmic apparatus of Control Object identification in a digital form resulted in a design of the regulator. Results of natural experiments are given. An analysis of the regulator robustness properties is carried out.

W artykule przeanalizowano czasy obliczeń złożonych algorytmów przetwarzania sygnałów na przykładzie metody Prony'ego, mogących mieć zastosowanie przy wyznaczaniu parametrów jakości energii elektrycznej. Czasy te będą porównane z czasami obliczeń dla typowych urządzeń klasy PC o architekturze 8086. Dodatkowo zostaną pokazane możliwości dołączenia do systemu urządzeń peryferyjnych oraz sond pomiarowych.
The article show the possibilities of use of the low cost BeagleBoard embedded system based on Texas Instruments OMAP processor with Linux operating system used for advanced power quality monitoring system. The authors show analysis results of the required time computation for presented advanced signal analysis methods like Prony's method, which can be used for power quality parameters estimation. The results were compared with computations made for PC standard computers, with x86 architecture. Additional, the article show possibility of peripheral devices connections to the presented system.
