    This article aims at reconstruction of crucial for pedagogy of emancipation notions associated with colonisation and decolonisation. This objective includes both literally and metaphor meanings of colonisation and decolonisation used by P. Freire in his philosophy of education. Thus I will present modified by P. Freire conception of closed society as a relic of colonial society and I will also present his notion of colonisation and decolonisation of minds as an objective action for basic literacy during decolonisation processes in Africa in the seventies. The main reason of such purpose of this text is that colonisation is the crucial point and the main cause of emancipation in Freire’s conception of social movements in general and popular education in particular. On the other hand decolonisation is an archetypal form of emancipation, thus taking into account present social inequalities theory of P. Freire is still totally valid.

    On the basis of results of the contemporary researches realised according to the spirit of critical and emancipatory pedagogics a school appears not only as a very important, valuable environment of development, but unfortunately also as a place that generates different threads. In the article one has tried to show a significance of the mainstream school as an environment of discovering attitudes of one’s own identity by the pupils with a disability at an early school age. Referring to the numerous empirical studies, one has performed a school discourse in order to show up discrimination practises in relation to this group of pupils. A critical analysis is accompanied by an attempt to indicate good practices of the socialising processes realised with regard to this group of persons in the mainstream school. A hope of the positive change is arisen by a Jarome S. Bruner’s postulate to develop and implement a new, cooperative, educational culture of the school in which all subjects are concentrated on the common solving problems and launching a mutual learning process.

Jako że zalety podejścia biograficznego były już wielokrotnie analizowane, a samo pojęcie „narracja” cieszy się niezwykłą popularnością we współczesnym dyskursie publicznym, tytułowe zagadnienie będzie rozwijane w perspektywie krytycznej. Ostatnia część tekstu poświęcona jest zakresowi przystawalności metody biograficznej do podstawowych założeń i celów badań partycypacyjnych. W tym zakresie rozwijana w artykule rekonstrukcja obejmuje potencjały emancypacyjne oraz aktywizujące metody biograficznej.
    The text addresses methodological and ethical issues that arise when a biographical method based on a narrative interview is associated with an emancipatory social-pedagogical practice. As the advantages of the biographical approach have already been analyzed any times, and the concept “narration” is increasingly popular in contemporary public discourse, the title issue will be developed in a critical perspective. The last part of the text is devoted to the analysis of compatibility of the biographical approach with the basic assumptions and objectives of participatory action research. The further reconstruction includes emancipatory potentials of biographical research methods.

    Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest dokonanie porównania filozofii wychowania Paula Freirego i Michela Foucaulta na przykładzie akcji alfabetyzacyjnej w Demokratycznej Republice Wysp Świętego Tomasza i Książęcej (STP). Używając archeologii wiedzy autor zamierza odkryć warstwy tekstualne. Pierwsza z warstw zawiera analizę tekstów (z początku XX wieku), jak raporty na temat warunków pracy w quasi-niewolniczym systemie w portugalskich plantacjach oraz odpowiedzi publikowane przez portugalskich plantatorów. Organizacja pracy oraz opisy rdzennych robotników z tego okresu są zbliżone do Foucaultowskiej koncepcji nadzorowania i karania. Druga z warstw zawiera analizę tekstów z Freirowskiej akcji alfabetyzacyjnej. Jednakże użycie koncepcji Foucaultowskiej do analizy tekstów z podręczników z okresu akcji alfabetyzacyjnej pomniejsza sens pedagogiki emancypacyjnej. W konkluzji autor stara się oddalić – z pragmatycznego punktu widzenia – możliwą krytykę koncepcji Freirego przy pomocy koncepcji Foucaulta, znajdując rozwiązanie w emancypacyjnej pedagogice rzeczy.
    The main purpose of this article is to compare Paulo Freire’s and Michel Foucault’s philosophies of education using the example of basic literacy campaign at the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe (STP). Using the archaeology of knowledge, the author intends to discover certain textual layers. The first layer (from the beginning of the 20th century) includes reports on labour conditions in the quasi-slavery system in Portuguese plantations and the answers published by Portuguese platnation owners. The organisation of labour and descriptions of native workers from that period are similar to Foucault’s concept of discipline and punishment. The second layer contains texts from Freire’s basic literacy campaign and it shows that using Foucault’s concept to analyse handbooks from the basic literacy campaign diminishes the meaningfulness of emancipatory education. In conclusion, the author attempts to decline – from the pragmatic point of view – the possible critique of Freire’s concept with the use of Foucault’s concept by finding the solution in emancipatory thing-centred pedagogy.

    Opis:
    The article is devoted to the transformations of the teacher’s roles in the context of the alternative education. The idea of the ‘pedagogy of the oppressed’ by Paolo Freire has been presented in details. A short outline of the book’s history has been given. The social and political roots of the education as the tool  of oppression have been shown. The banking concept of education has been criticized as the one that contradicts the idea of freedom and democracy.The author reinforces the idea that democratic changes of education gave start to different alternative visions of the teacher’s role, which were expressed through different approaches to the education that constituted branches of the alternative pedagogy. As it is shown in the article, antipedagogy, critical pedagogy, Gestalt pedagogy, emancipation pedagogy, transgressive pedagogy questioned the  teacher’s traditional role of being the only source of knowledge able to pass it to students as objects of teaching. Different changes in the teacher’s roles have been demonstrated: the neglected one (in antipedagogy), the one of the transformational intellectual assisting in criticizing everything (in critical pedagogy), the thoughtful facilitating partner (in Gestalt pedagogy), the child’s self-actualization supporter (emancipation pedagogy), the dialogue learning organizer (transgressive pedagogy).The author draws the conclusion that the teacher’s role has been transformed with the stress transfered from teaching to learning; when both the teacher and the student are partners in their reciprocal learning.
    Artykuł poświęcony jest zmianie roli nauczyciela w świetle pedagogiki alternatywnej. Rozpatrzono tu idee pedagogiki uciśnionych, zaproponowanej przez brazylijskiego uczonego Paulo Freire. Ukazano społeczny i polityczny wpływ edukacji jako narzędzia ucisku. Przedstawiono krótką historię powstawania i publikacji książki "Pedagogika uciśnionych" i wpływ idei w niej zawartych na różne rodzaje pedagogiki alternatywnej. Rozpatrzono krytykę bankowej koncepcji edukacji, która jest sprzeczna z ideami wolności i demokracji.Autor artykułu uzasadnia tezę, iż demokratyczne zmiany w edukacji stały się podstawą wielu alternatywnych wizji roli nauczyciela, które są specyficzne dla różnych typów pedagogiki alternatywnej. W artykule wykazano, że antypedagogika, pedagogika krytyczna, pedagogika Gestalt, edukacja emancypacyjna kwestionują tradycyjną rolę nauczyciela, która polega na tym, że on jest jedynym źródłem wiedzy, którą przekazuje uczniom. Pokazano różne zmiany roli nauczyciela: od kompletnego jej negowania (w antypedagogice) do roli transformacyjnego intelektualisty, która pomaga krytykować wszystko (w pedagogice krytycznej), wrażliwego partnera-facylitatora (w pedagogice Gestalt), facylitatora samorealizacji dziecka (w pedagogice emancypacyjnej) i organizatora nauczania opartego na dialogu (w pedagogice transgresyjnej).Wykazano również konieczność zmian w edukacji mających na celu przezwyciężenie presji wywieranej na ucznia i biernego uczenia się. Podkreślono znaczenie dialogu, w którym nauczyciel i uczniowie działają na zasadach równości.

    The subject of this analysis is an attempt to reflect on the pedagogical system of Antoni Makarenko as a pedagogue of street children. Just as the street peddlers of today worked with children whose negative and afflicted relationships with the world have led to an attitude of distrust and dislike. When analyzing his concept, I referred to the thought he had made in “Pedagogical Poem”. Confronting the idea against the views of modern street pedagogues, I tried to answer the questions: what does Makarenko share with people working today with this category of children? How much of his ideas worked out almost a century ago are the inspiration for modern street pedagogues? Makarenko, like the street pedigreers of today, was focused on building contacts, appreciated the significance of the meeting, tried to answer real problems and needs of homeless youth. What distinguishes modern street pedagogy from the Makarenko pedagogical system is its critical character. Makarenko’s pedagogy, due to ideological dominance (which was not discussed in the pedagogical activity aimed at shaping the planned political consciousness of the charges), lost its emancipatory character.

    This publication is an analysis of media discourse within the television advertising concerning the implementation of nursing roles in the family in the field of care for the health of loved ones. In the article under consideration is the quality of presented patterns of behavior of men and women, which can reproduce the existing stereotypes about gender or provide a contribution to the creation of emancipatory attitudes, adequate to the contemporary changes in the socio - economic. Despite the obvious social trends investing in women more equal rights over the family and professional advertising formulates messages such as: “We do not get sick, we take Vicks”, maintaining the men in the field of “non-existence” in the sphere of health care and the family. Applications for use in the field of pedagogy family, and more.

    Głównym zadaniem tego artykułu jest rekonstrukcja pojęcia „historii jako możliwości”, jako integralnej części Freirowskiej filozofii edukacji. Pedagogia emancypacyjna – w swym pragmatycznym odczytaniu – zmaga się z użytecznością teorii dla zmiany społecznej. Freire poddawał krytyce pojęcie historii jako czegoś nieuniknionego, ale obecnie Freiryści podkreślają, że historia jest „oswojona” za sprawą pojęcia „końca historii”. W dalszej części przedstawiony jest przykład zmiany społecznej, która dokonuje się podczas podstawowej alfabetyzacji na São Tomé, a podstawowe pytanie dotyczy możliwości oferowanych przez podręcznik do alfabetyzacji A Luta Continua. Pytanie wraca, ale ma już za swój przedmiot możliwości oferowane przez system edukacyjny w warunkach post-politycznego populizmu.   The Oppressed, History and Social Change. Philosophy of History in P. Freire's Philosophy of Education: Category of History as Possibility Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to reconstruct Paulo Freire's notion of 'history as a possibility' as a integral part of his philosophy of education. Pedagogy of emancipation–in its pragmatic interpretation–deals with the question of usefullnes of theory for social change. Freire criticized conceptions of history as something inevitable but nowadays followers of Friere highlight that history is “domesticated” by “the end of history” conception. The article presents example of social change in São Tomé during Friere's action for basic literacy and the main question is what kind of possibilities are content of adult notebook of basic literacy A Luta Continua. Question of possibility backs in the end but has for its subject possibilities of education in conditions of post-political populism.
