Opis:
Many methods of diagnosing internal combustion engines have been already worked out. They can be divided into methods using working processes and methods using leftover processes. Working processes give information about general condition of internal combustion engine. Leftover processes give information about condition of particular subassemblies and kinematic couples; hence they are used as autonomous processes or as processes supporting other diagnostic methods. Methods based on analysis of vibrations and noise changes to determine technical condition of object are named as vibroacoustic diagnostics. In papers about vibroacoustic diagnostics of engine, problems connected with difficulty to select test point and to define diagnostic parameters containing essential information about engine's condition, are most often omitted. Selectionof engine's working parameters and conditions of taking measurements or registering vibration signal are usually based on references, researcher's experience or intuition. General assumptions about taking measurements of signal closest to its source are most often used. Application of vibrations and noise generated by working combustion engine to assess correctness of its work and technical condition has many advantages. Vibroacoustic processes are a good carrier of diagnostic information for the following reasons: - high information capacity, - high speed of data transfer (signal's component describing change in object's condition is visible the moment the inefficiency occurs), - vibration signal reflects all significant processes in combustion engine, - measurement of vibrations and noise does not require special preparations of technical object for tests and can be carried out during regular operations. This article presents a new approach to vibroacoustic diagnostics of internal combustion engine. Selection of test points of vibration on the basis of impact tests' results was suggested. Those results were applied to build dynamic models of systems of combustion engines. Such model was used to assess condition of the systems.
Opracowano wiele metod diagnozowania stanu technicznego silnika spalinowego.

Opis:
In the future many of spark ignition engines will be fuelled by the direct injection of the compressed natural gas. The spark ignition engines fuelled by CNG with lean and stratified charge in a low load mode require much more controlling of the air-fuel ratio than the diesel engines. The paper describes the total problems of the charging of SI engines particularly with direct injection of CNG. The control of the delivered mass of the fuel and the air in order to obtain the required mixture composition is given in mathematical way. The total control system of the engine with turbocharger, the CNG injection system and the model of gas flow in the exhaust and inlet ducts are shown in diagrams with wide work explanation. The paper concerns to the important problems of fuelling of "downsizing "new SI engines in order to fulfil the future exhaust emission requirements. The publication bases partially on the work which was done in the European project. The work was the first approach in order to determine the non-stationary work of the turbocharger in spark ignition engine. Main conclusions of the work are: the pneumatic actuator in the waste-gate system is not suitable in the turbocharged spark ignition engines with direct CNG injection, the pressure and temperature before the turbine and in the inlet pipes fluctuates with not equal values of oscillations, the work was the first approach in order to determine the non-stationary work of the turbocharger in spark ignition engine. On the base of literature data as well as on the author 's papers a review of the state-of-the art in material surface engineering using laser ablation processing is presented. A special emphasis is put on application of lasers with short and ultra-short pulses. The author's suggestions for definitions' scope and systematization of laser processing into qualitative groups are discussed. The point and capabilities for technological application of laser microprocessing of elements of internal combustion engines are shown. Selected results of the author's works devoted to ablative profiling of oil reservoirs in the upper zone of cylinder sleeves, laser removal of carbon deposits from piston heads and piston rings, cylinder sleeves, combustion chambers, and laser removal of oxides from internal combustion engine frames and heads are presented. An idea of modification and laser shock peening of selected enigine elements like frames, valves, and timing gear rollers is also presented. The selection results of investigation of technological superficial layer on the valve steel x45CrSi i9-3 (H9S2) formed by duplex technology: glow discharge nitriding and modification by impulse laser treatment on described. Performed experiments on chosen elements of combustion engines pistons, piston-rings, heads, bodies, valves, cylinder liners, crank-shafts confirmed the usefulness of proposed technology.
