    W artykule scharakteryzowano zasadę działania rozrusznika elektrycznego układu rozruchowego silnika spalinowego. Omówiono podstawowe procesy i zależności je charakteryzujące i uzasadniono charakterystyki pracy rozrusznika. Scharakteryzowano stanowisko do badań rozrusznika pozwalające na badanie jego charakterystyk i stanu technicznego przy zasilaniu za pomocą akumulatora i hamowaniu za pomocą hamulca elektrowirowego i ciernego. Stanowiska umożliwia także badanie charakterystyk pracy akumulatora w warunkach zasilania rozrusznika przy stałym jego obciążeniu. Przedstawiono wyniki badań funkcjonowania układu rozruchowego i jego elementów, akumulatora i rozrusznika w warunkach stanowiskowych i podczas napędzania wału korbowego silnika. Wskazano możliwości wykorzystania sygnałów napędzania wału korbowego jako sygnałów diagnostycznych stanu akumulatora, rozrusznika i silnika spalinowego. Omówiono sygnały rejestrowane podczas napędzania wału korbowego silnika przez rozrusznik.
    The article describes the principle of operation of the electric starter of the starting system of the internal combustion engine. Basic processes and dependencies were described, and the characteristics of the starter's work were discussed. The station for the starter testing, allowing the examination of its characteristics and technical condition when powered by a battery and braking by means of an electro-spin and friction brake, was characterized. The station also allows testing the battery operation characteristics in the conditions of the starter power supply at its constant load. The results of tests of the functioning of the starting system and its components, the battery and the starter in the stationary conditions and while driving the engine crankshaft are presented. The possibilities of using the crankshaft driving signals as diagnostic signals of the state of the battery, starter and combustion engine are indicated. The signals recorded while driving the engine crankshaft by the starter were discussed.

    W artykule opisano zasady pracy akumulatora kwasowo-ołowiowego. Scharakteryzowano najczęściej stosowane metody oceny stanu technicznego oraz wskazano niektóre objawy i przyczyny niedomagań akumulatorów. Wskazano czynniki mające wpływ na wartość napięcia akumulatora w trakcie obciążenia prądowego. Opisano plan eksperymentu opracowany w celu wyznaczenia współczynników liniowego modelu matematycznego opisującego wpływ poszczególnych zmiennych niezależnych na zmienną zależną. Przedstawiono liniowy model matematyczny opracowany na podstawie danych uzyskanych podczas badań akumulatorów zgodnie z przyjętym planem eksperymentu.
    The article describes the principle of the work of the lead-acid battery. The most common methods of assessing the technical condition of the battery were characterized and some causes of battery undercharging were indicated. The factors influencing the value of the battery voltage during the current load were indicated. An experimental plan was developed to determine the coefficients of a linear mathematical model describing the influence of individual independent variables on a dependent variable. A linear mathematical model was elaborated based on data obtained during battery tests in accordance with the adopted plan of the experiment.

Przedstawiono wyniki badań funkcjonowania układu rozruchowego i jego elementów, akumulatora i rozrusznika w warunkach stanowiskowych i podczas napędzania wału korbowego silnika, wskazujące zachowanie i przebieg parametrów pracy w warunkach dynamicznych.
    The article describes the starting systems of combustion engines and the conditions of their operation. Traditional stationary characteristics of the acid battery and the electric starter were discussed. Structural models of functional components of the starter system: battery and starter are presented as classic electrical circuits with typical RLC elements. The equations of structural components operation in dynamic conditions were formulated and their solutions and characteristics were presented. The results of tests of the functioning of the starting system and its components, battery and starter in the test stand conditions and while driving the crankshaft of the engine, showing the behaviour and the course of work parameters under dynamic conditions are presented.

    W artykule scharakteryzowano napędzanie wału korbowego przez rozrusznik jako proces diagnostyczny. Omówiono warunki pracy rozrusznika elektrycznego podczas napędzania wału korbowego silnika w aspekcie równowagi momentu oporu silnika i momentu siły wytwarzanego przez układ rozruchowy. Scharakteryzowano źródła oporów w silniku spalinowym oraz omówiono czynniki mające na nie wpływ, wskazano jego składowe oraz zależności pozwalające na ich wyznaczenie. Wskazano zmienność momentu oporu silnika w cyklu jego pracy oraz zmienność momentu i prędkości obrotowej wału korbowego w procesie napędzania wału. Przedstawiono stanowisko oraz metodykę badań rozruchu silnika spalinowego oraz wpływ wartości temperatury i mocy układu rozruchowego na rejestrowane sygnały rozruchu. Wskazano związki przyczynowo-skutkowe momentu oporu silnika i cech – parametrów pracy układu rozruchowego. Wykazano, że wartości sygnałów rejestrowanych podczas napędzania wału korbowego mają cechy parametrów diagnostycznych silnika w aspekcie oceny szczelności przestrzeni nadtłokowej oraz wartości sumarycznych oporów silnika spalinowego.
    Engine crankshaft driving by the starter is characterised as a diagnostic process. The article discusses the working conditions of the electric starter when driving the engine crankshaft in terms of the equilibrium of the engine resistance torque and the moment of force generated by starting system. The resistance sources in the internal combustion engine were characterized and factors influencing them were discussed, its components and dependencies allowing for their determination were indicated. The variability of the engine resistance torque in the cycle of its operation as well as the variability of the torque and rotational speed of the crankshaft in the process of propelling the shaft are indicated. The stand and the methodology for testing the engine's internal combustion engine and the influence of the temperature and power of the starting system on registered start signals are presented. The cause and effect relationships of the engine resistance torque and the features – parameters of the starting system operation were indicated. It was shown that the values of signals recorded during the crankshaft driving have the features of engine diagnostic parameters in the aspect of the combustion chamber tightness and the total resistance of the internal combustion engine.
