Raport z badań prezentowany w artykule pokazuje wpływ podwójnej struktury gry, wdrożonej do jednego kursu akademickiego. Pierwsza gra to klasyczna kierownicza gra biznesowa, rozgrywana w 4–5-osobowych zespołach. Druga to inwestycyjna gra rozgrywana na poziomie indywidualnym. Gra inwestycyjna czerpie swoje dane z gry grupowej i jej celem jest maksymalizacja wyników inwestycyjnych bazujących na dynamicznym celu opartym na średnich wynikach z rozgrywanej gry kierowniczej. Zadaniem tej struktury gry jest motywowanie studentów do lepszego i pełniejszego analizowania raportów spółek oraz budowania lepszej strategii decyzyjnej. W artykule analizowane są wyniki gry inwestycyjnej na poziomie indywidualnym oraz gry kierowniczej w porównaniu do grupy kontrolnej.
The report on research presented in the article shows the impact of the double–game structure employed in a college course. The first game is a classic managerial business game played in teams consisting of four to five people. The second is an investment–style game played on an individual level. The investment game draws on data from the group game and its objective is the maximizing of investment results based on a dynamic target grounded on average results of the managerial game. The goal of such a game structure is the motivating of students to analyze company reports better and more fully as well as to build better decision–making strategies. The article analyzes the results of the investment game on an individual level as well as of the managerial game as compared with a control group.

This article raises the problem of the need to equip a social worker with knowledge concerning legal issues useful in assistance activities. Professional knowledge of selected legal problems is necessary in the face of still emerging new situations that create dysfunction for collective life and cause inability in overcoming difficultiesby using their own capabilities, competences and resources. Work aimed at supporting and activating a social welfare beneficiaryrequire from a social worker a wide interdisciplinary knowledge, including familiarity with various fieldsof law. Knowledge in the fieldof substantive (social law, family law) and procedural law used during work with a beneficiaryal-lows a social worker to conduct the assistance process more effectively. The law-realted problems faced by the social worker who performs statutory tasks are connected to the extent of the regulated problems, constant changeability of legal regulations, their interpretative ambiguity, the necessity of using judicial decisions. It requires appropriate, methodical and purposeful action in the process of educating social workers, which influences theexpected efficiency of theirwork and a sense of safety from a formal point of view.

Nowadays essential changes are happening in the field of education. A lot of people of different specialities feel the necessity of profound knowledge of foreign languages. To be a good specialist means not only read up-to-date literature but also keep hands on pulse. In our paper we would like to illustrate this point and present the portfolio of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) for the first and second year of studies at one of the higher technical universities, namely Lviv State University of Life Safety. Our course “English for Rescuers” focuses on the development of specific English language skills for students and cadets for Fire Safety speciality.
W nauczaniu można obecnie zaobserwować wiele istotnych zmian. Specjaliści widzą potrzebę znajomości języków obcych. Bycie dobrym specjalistą nie oznacza tylko korzystania z literatury specjalistycznej ale również śledzenie na bieżąco nowinek w swojej dziedzinie. W artykule podjęto próbę potwierdzenia tezy, jak również zaprezentowania portfolio kursu: Angielski o Profilu Specjalistycznym, skierowanego dla studentów pierwszego i drugiego roku studiów w jednym z technicznych uniwersytetów – Lwowskim Państwowym Uniwersytecie Bezpieczeństwa Życia. Kurs „Angielski dla Ratowników” zakłada rozwijanie specyficznych umiejętności języka angielskiego u studentów i kadetów wydziału Bezpieczeństwa Pożarowego.

The article discusses the competencies of vocational education teachers, as well as discusses the results of own research, which aimed to determine three types of teachers conceptualized by students - the most liked, the least liked, and the dream one. The research used the interview method, where the research technique was an interview, and the research tool was an interview questionnaire. The students' statements were analyzed using the Python Natural Language Toolkit used for natural language processing. In this way, the most common words used by students in describing teachers were selected. As a result, the personal qualities and pedagogical competencies of mechatronic teachers that students approve and disapprove of, as well as those that they lack and which would make a difference to the effectiveness of education, were identified.

Opis:
Anchoring exercises on a training ship have a significant effect on the acquisition of ship handling skills. Furthermore, such training is also effective for the development of critical thinking and problem solving. The authors investigated this topic to develop effective training methods for anchoring exercises. We created a rubric for anchor training, and the instructor evaluated trainees based on the rubric items. These rubrics were effective for judging trainee performance. The effect of dialogue in group work was shown by comments from instructors and the trainees. Group presentations were also evaluated via student comments. After conducting the anchoring training in native language in the spring, the same exercise was conducted in English in the fall. Only English instructions were offered during the training exercise in the first year (2016). In the second year (2017), students took a brief e-learning course in English about anchoring before attempting the second exercise in English. According to instructor evaluations, the second session in 2017 saw a much greater improvement in trainee performance than did the second session in 2016. English practice in the e-learning course allowed students to focus more on practising the techniques they had learned previously when performing the second training exercise in English.

W artykule podjęto próbę identyfikacji obszarów wiedzy o człowieku, które są niedostrzegane przez politykę oświatową. Fundamentem przedstawionych tutaj analiz jest koncept efektywnej polityki przeciwstawiony polityce „ślepej”. Autor analizuje znaczenia trzech kluczowych kategorii praktyki i polityki edukacyjnej. Są nimi: jakość, doskonałość oraz zmiana. Przedstawiono tutaj dominujące dyskursy każdej z tych kategorii oraz przyczyny i skutki „milczenia” dyskursów alternatywnych.
This paper attempts to identify areas of knowledge about human nature that are invisible to educational policy. The analysis presented here is based on the concept of effective policy contrasted with the “blind” policy. The author examines the meanings of three vital educational categories: quality, excellence, and change. This article presents the dominant discourses of each category and the causes and consequences of the “silence” of alternative discourses.

Opis:
Though the system of maritime education and training in Ukraine has already been formed there is still the lack of graduates’ ability to perform specific duties especially the difficulties in the use of Maritime English during shipboard practice and professional activity. It stresses out the need to develop the system of professional training to provide the growth of quality and effectiveness of higher maritime education and to guarantee the development of communicative competency of future seafarers. The current study investigates the growing need of professionally-oriented communicative competency formation and development while teaching cadets/students of higher maritime institutions is based on the requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to the level of English language level proficiency and the recognition of the English language as the working language of multicultural shipboard environment. The research shows that the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers must be regarded as a complex phenomenon which must be studied from the point of view of a systematic approach as a single integral system that encompasses a specific amount of components. The study demonstrated the structure of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers and analyzed the core structural components of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers.
Choć system kształcenia i szkolenia morskiego na Ukrainie został już ukształtowany, nadal brakuje absolwentów zdolności do wykonywania określonych obowiązków, zwłaszcza są trudności w posługiwaniu się językiem morskim w trakcie praktyki i pracy zawodowej na statku. Autoray podkreśla potrzebę rozwoju systemu szkolenia zawodowego, aby zapewnić wzrost jakości i efektywności szkolnictwa wyższego morskiego oraz zagwarantować rozwój kompetencji komunikacyjnych przyszłych marynarzy. Obecne badanie bada rosnącą potrzebę profesjonalnego kształtowania i rozwoju kompetencji komunikacyjnych podczas nauczania podchorążych / studentów wyższych uczelni morskich w oparciu o wymagania określone przez Międzynarodową Organizację Morską (IMO) do poziomu znajomości języka angielskiego i uznania języka angielskiego jako języka roboczego wielokulturowego środowiska okrętowego. Z badań wynika, że kompetencje komunikacyjne marynarzy zorientowane zawodowo należy traktować jako zjawisko złożone, które należy badać z punktu widzenia podejścia systemowego jako jednego integralnego systemu obejmującego określoną liczbę elementów. W badaniu przedstawiono strukturę kompetencji komunikacyjnych zorientowanych zawodowo marynarzy oraz przeanalizowano podstawowe elementy strukturalne kompetencji komunikacyjnych marynarzy zorientowanych zawodowo.

CEL NAUKOWY: Celem naukowym artykułu jest rozpoczęcie dyskusji dotyczącej zastosowania podejścia doceniającego w pracy ze studentami pedagogiki. PROBLEM I METODY BADAWCZE: Główny problem badawczy artykułu został zamknięty w pytaniu o możliwości zastosowania podejścia doceniającego w kształceniu studentów kierunków pedagogicznych. Zastosowano metodę analizy literatury przedmiotu dotyczącej podstaw oraz ewolucji podejścia doceniającego w zestawieniu z publikacjami dotyczącymi pozytywnej nauki o organizacji (Positive Organizational Scholarschip). PROCES WYWODU: W tekście zaprezentowano ustalenia definicyjne stosowanych pojęć, podstawy teoretyczne podejścia doceniającego, jego zarys historyczny oraz zasady i etapy zastosowania w praktyce. Zarysowano również koncepcje organizacji wysokiej efektywności, która swoje źródło ma w pozytywnej nauce o organizacji. WYNIKI ANALIZY NAUKOWEJ: Podejście doceniające, jako odmiana action research ukierunkowana na optymalizację organizacji, stosowane jest najczęściej w naukach o zarządzaniu i marketingu. W literaturze anglojęzycznej na przestrzeni ostatnich dziesięcioleci można zauważyć wykorzystywanie appreciative inquiry w edukacji, jednak nie jest to podnoszone w literaturze rodzimej. Stosowanie podejścia doceniającego w naukach o zarządzaniu przedstawia bardzo pozytywne efekty zastosowania. Implikując je na teren edukacji akademickiej, a zwłaszcza grupy zajęciowej, która może być postrzegana jako organizacja (z osobą prowadzącą przedmiot jako liderem i wdrażającą appreciative inquiry), można przypuszczać, że podejście to powinno być stosowane nie tylko jako sposób rozwiązywania problemów, lecz przede wszystkim jako efektywny sposób pracy ze studentami. WNIOSKI, INNOWACJE, REKOMENDACJE: Podejście doceniające stanowi ciekawy i wartościowy sposób nie tylko rozwiązywania problemów w organizacji, ale także może i powinno być stosowane jako sposób pracy ze studentami pedagogiki.
  RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The scientific aim of this article is to start a discussion on the application of the appreciative inquiry in working with students of pedagogy. THE RESEARCH PROBLEMS AND METHODS: The main research problem of the article is closed in the question about the possibilities of applying the appreciative inquiry in educating students in the pedagogical fields. The literature analysis method concerning the foundations and evolution of the appreciative inquiry was used in conjunction with publications on positive organizational scholarschip. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The text presents the definitions of the concepts used, the theoretical foundations of the appreciative inquiry, its historical outline, the principles and stages of practical application, as well. What is more, High Performance Organization, which source takes place in the positive science of organization, was also outlined. RESEARCH RESULTS: The appreciative inquiry, as a variety of action research oriented towards the optimization of organization, is most often used in management and marketing sciences. In the English-language literature during the last decades, the use of appreciative inquiry in education has been noted, but it is not mentioned in the native literature. The application of the appreciative inquiry in management sciences has very positive application effects. Transferring them in the area of academic education, especially within the class group, which can be perceived as an organization, it can be assumed that the application of this approach should be used not only as a way of solving problems, but, first of all, as an effective way of working with students. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The appreciative inquiry is an interesting and valuable way not only to solve problems in an organization, but, it can and should be used as a way of working with students of pedagogy, as well.

Dokonujące się zmiany cywilizacyjne spowodowały zmianę oczekiwań społeczeństwa względem nauczycieli, w szczególności nauczycieli szkół zawodowychprzygotowujących uczniów do zaistnienia i utrzymania się na wymagającym rynku pracy. Uczniom szkoły zawodowej nie wystarczy, że zdobędą kwalifikacje zawodowe wyodrębnione w zawodzie, lecz powinni być w pełni przygotowani do funkcjonowania w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości, w tym do zmieniającychsię wymagań na konkretnym stanowisku pracy. Na nauczycielu spoczywa obowiązek zapewnienia warunków sprzyjających wyzwalaniu u uczniów myśleniainnowacyjnego, bycia autonomicznym, twórczym, rozumiejącym siebie i otaczające środowisko, a także zorganizowania środowiska szkolnego w taki sposób, aby w przyszłości uczniowie sprostali wymaganiom cywilizacyjnym. W artykule na podstawie badań własnych omówiono jakie kompetencje i jaką osobowośćposiadają nauczyciele przedmiotów mechatronicznych w opinii ich podopiecznych, jak nauczyciele ci organizują proces kształcenia, a także jaki „realistyczny”stosunek ma młodzież do nauczyciela oraz procesu kształcenia.
Ongoing civilizational changes have led to the shift of expectations towards teachers especially those teaching vocational school students, preparing them to enter and thrive in the competitive labour market. It is not enough for vocational school students to gain qualifications, they must also be prepared for dealing with ever-changing circumstances including changing requirements of specific jobs. The teacher is responsible for securing appropriate conditions for students to think out of the box, to be independent, to understand themselves and the world around them, and to be able to organize the school environment appropriately to face civilizational challenges. The article, based on own research, discusses the competencies and personalities of mechatronic teachers described by their students as well as the way teachers organize the educational process and a realistic attitude the youth has towards the teacher and the education process.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie uwarunkowań zmiany podejścia w orientacji na rozwój szkoły i procesy uczenia się oraz wprowadzanych interwencji politycznych zmieniających oblicze singapurskich szkół. Przyjmowane w systemie szkolnym koncepcje i rozwiązania stanowią o edukacyjnym sukcesie tego kraju. Analizowane w artykule reformy i interwencje polityczne pozwalają lepiej zrozumieć politykę edukacyjną i skuteczne wdrożenia ukierunkowane na procesy uczenia się jako warunek szybkiego reagowania szkół na zmiany. Wnioski przedstawione w artykule opierają się głównie na przeglądzie literatury przedmiotu, podejmowanych przez badaczy badaniach i analizie dokumentów źródłowych.
The aim of the article is to identify the determinants of changes in the school development approach and learning processes. Another scientific goal is to show that the introduced political interventions have changed the Singaporean schools. The concepts and solutions, which were adopted in the school system, determine the educational success of this country. I would like to present the reforms and political interventions which contribute to a better understanding of educational policy. The effective implementations of reforms focused on learning processes and on conditions of schools to react quickly to educational changes. The results presented in the article are mainly based on the literature review or research, undertaken by researchers, or analysis of source documents.

Różne czynniki wpływają na efektywność procesu edukacyjnego przebiegającego w nowych środowiskach uczenia się i nauczania. Zarówno multimedialne zasoby, jak i interaktywne aktywności, przyczyniają się do zwiększenia efektywności pracy na kursach e-learningowych, blended learningowych i na zajęciach wspomaganych modułami edukacyjnymi zbudowanymi przy pomocy narzędzi internetowych. Nowoczesne metody prowadzenia zajęć są często w opiniach studentów bardziej angażujące oraz zachęcające do intensywniejszego wysiłku intelektualnego. Wprowadzenie ich do edukacji akademickiej może przyczynić się do stworzenia lepszych warunków do kształcenia umiejętności poszukiwanych przez współczesnych pracodawców. Niniejszy pogląd zostanie wsparty empirycznie opiniami studentów Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Poznaniu i Politechniki Gdańskiej.
Different factors have an impact on the effectiveness of the educational process in new learning and teaching environments. Both multimedia resources and interactive activities result in raising efficiency, productivity, engagement, commitment and especially the satisfaction of the students participating in various e-learning, blended learning and webenhanced programmes. Innovative classes structured around new pedagogical practices provide all the participants, both the teacher and their students, with a variety of challenges, which can have either positive or negative outcomes. New delivery methods are often viewed by the learners as more engaging and stimulating to intellectual curiosity, activity and effort. Their inclusion in academic education can give rise to better possibilities of creating more versatile programmes that target the needs of digital natives, whose hard and soft skills developed through learning in an online environment help them function effectively in the work context. The ideas presented above will be supported by students’ opinions and attitudes expressed in the latest surveys conducted at Poznan University of Medical Sciences and Gdansk University of Technology.

Opis:
The article reveals the gist of methodology in scientific cognition, its role in educationand practice of training the teachers. The need of a definition of methodological aspects of technologies teachers’ to-be artistic-projective training is stressed upon in the article. The system approach is considered to be a methodological basisof the complete learning of theoretic and methodical foundations of forming the technologies teachers’ to-be artistic-projective knowledge and skills. The attention is stressed upon the role of the effective personality-oriented and technological approaches concerning the ensuring of an artistic-projective component of training the students at the higher educational stablishments.
Wyjaśnia się istota metodologii w poznaniu naukowym, jej roli w edukacji oraz praktyce kształcenia nauczycieli. Dokonano próby ustalenia aspektów metodologicznych artystyczno-projekcyjnego przygotowania w kształceniu nauczycieli technologicznego ukierunkowania.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zweryfikowanie, w jaki sposób autorzy podręczników szkolnych proponują kształcić umiejętność słuchania na lekcjach języka polskiego. Autorka po omówieniu specyfiki słuchania w komunikacji interpersonalnej oraz szczegółowych sprawności percepcyjnych, wyznacza cele doskonalenia słuchowego odbioru w edukacji polonistycznej. Następnie przedstawia analizę zadań dydaktycznych sklasyfikowanych ze względu na rozwijaną sprawność percepcyjną. Artykuł kończy się ukazaniem modelu kształcenia umiejętności słuchania wyłaniającego się z wybranych podręczników szkolnych.
The aim of this article is to verify the way in which authors of school textbooks propose develop listening comprehension in Polish language lessons. The author, after discussing the specifics of listening within an interpersonal communication and detailed perceptual skills, sets objectives of improving the auditory reception in Polish language education. Subsequently, she presents an analysis of didactic tasks that are classified according to a perceptual skill which are being developed. The article finishes with the presentation of a model of developing listening comprehension that emerges from selected school textbooks.
