    The recognition of the importance of early childhood education is steadily increasing. Many reports published in Israel and around the world address the tremendous and critical impact of this age on theindividual and on society. In contrast, the professional image of the preschool teacher in Israel is low, as in many countries. The professional image influences the choice of the teaching profession and theacceptance conditions in the teacher training colleges. This article addresses unique educational pedagogical initiatives that incorporate advanced technology and innovative teaching methods that mayhave positive influence on the preschool teacher’s image and serve as a focus for community involvement, positive advertising, and empowerment of the children and the preschool. Therefore, the aim of the article is to emphasize the importance of the educational initiatives and their direct and indirect impact on the preschool image and the parents’ satisfaction with the preschool activity, to encourage the preschool teachers who do not yet integrate educational initiatives in their activity to do so, and to emphasize the importance of the involvement of the parents and the community in the preschool pedagogical activity. This research was performed through the distribution of questionnaires to the parents in the preschools where educational initiatives were held and in the preschools where these initiatives were not held and the examination of the parents’ satisfaction.

    The author of the article raises the issue of alternative education, which in recent years has become a thoroughly planned offer, implemented more efficiently and evaluated in greater depth. One of the basic signs of alternative education is a tendency to create a school that aims to prepare a student who solves problems in an innovative and non-stereotypical way and undertakes successful initiatives both at and outside school. The driving force behind this type of student’s activity can be, above all, extensive teacher competences, among which the leading and crucial role, according to the author of this text, is played by creativity. The author attempts to present innovative tasks assigned to the students, which have appeared repeatedly in the history of didactics, emphasizing their creative perspective and pointing as examples schools of Pestalozzi, Dewey, Montessori and Korczak, She also encourages the reader to reflect on a number of non-standardized and creative educational activities popularised in various media and currently implemented in educational practice. This analysis leads Anna Kožuh to a more perceptive recognition of the essence of creative attitude and to explore creativity as a vital element of teacher’s competence, and particularly its suitability in alternative education. The author defines creativity primarily as the ability to compare issues that differ from each other and to look for what they have in common, the ease to perceive what is invisible to others and approach the problem from different angles. The leading feature of creative activity, for the author, is the ability to look for a number of different ways to solve one problem. The text concludes with a presentation of a variety of activities supporting the development of teacher’s creativity, and in particular a broader characterisation of the use of supervision and its potential in improving and expanding teacher’s creative competence.

    The purpose of this article is to analyse educational activities undertaken in the area ofsocial entrepreneurship. The main conclusions are that respondents do not know about social entrepreneurship and social initiatives are undertaken only to a minimal extent; education for social entrepreneurship is at an unacceptable level. Thus, education in economics in Poland should be enriched with social economy and social entrepreneurship. An essential element that can positively affect the development of social entrepreneurship is the support of social activities undertaken by young people within a broader debate about the social dimension of our lives.

    Opis:
    This article raises issues related to gamification of the teaching process. The paper contains many examples of the gamification techniques adopted for major courses: Economics and International Financial Markets for students of International Relations and Security Studies in the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of Jagiellonian University. The examples discussed in the article were examined in reference to the assumed teaching effects, grouped into the three categories: knowledge, skills and competences. The article also contains a cost and benefits analysis of gamification in education, and concludes with the proposal of changing the way of thinking about the schooling understood as a game.
    Artykuł porusza kwestie związane z grywalizacją procesu dydaktycznego. Główną jego część zajmują opisy przykładów zastosowania technik grywalizacyjnych na zajęciach z przedmiotów Ekonomia i Międzynarodowe rynki finansowe dla studentów kierunków: stosunki międzynarodowe oraz bezpieczeństwo narodowe w Instytucie Nauk Politycznych i Stosunków Międzynarodowych UJ. Omówione w opracowaniu przykłady przeanalizowano w odniesieniu do założonych efektów kształcenia w podziale na wiedzę, umiejętności i kompetencje. Analizy wzbogacono o wnioski dotyczące korzyści i kosztów wynikających z podjęcia próby wprowadzenia w strukturę zajęć elementów gier, a następnie zaproponowano zmianę perspektywy myślenia o grze, jaką jest szkoła.

    Opis:
    This article comprises a synthetic general review, presentation analysis and assessment of interpretation and efficiency of main legal sources of protection of children’s rights in international, European and Polish home law. As well as other problems of social and individual safety of children and youth, against of all forms of violence and abuse, social orphanage and other pathologies, aimed at building of a general common feelings of their safety in everyday life and activities. Authors present the two complementary spheres of organized institutional protection, prevention and intervention of children’s rights, based on the most important sources of law and asses their implementation and functioning in practice in Poland. The first sphere of the Polish model and system of protection of children’s rights, based on both legal and material guarantees and instruments, are public – state and territorial self-governing administration authorities, dedicated organs, institutions such as Ombudsman of children’s rights, regional and local centers of social care, safety and protection of family life and all forms of intervention in case of all forms of crises, violence and abuse of children and youth. The second complementary spheres of very dynamic manifold activities and social initiatives of various NGO’s and informal groups and individual persons, aiming at effective protection of children’s rights. These nongovernmental activities, both initiate, stimulate and control different forms of real prevention, protection, intervention and defense of children and their rights and counteracting all forms of social orphanage, violence and abuse in social relations with children and adolescents in different domains of our life, as well private and public. Their main aim is increasing of the feeling of safety of children and youth in Poland on the grounds of proper implementation and interpretation of respective legal regulations

    Problematyka artykułu dotyczy dylematów rozwoju przedsiębiorczości w aspekcie aktywności człowieka wspieranej inicjatywami jednostek samorządu terytorialnego i państwa. Artykuł koncentruje się na aktywności przedsiębiorczej podejmowanej na rzecz edukacji przez podmioty niezwiązane z oświatą. Pierwsza część tekstu prezentuje działalność Ogólnopolskiej Sieci Zagród Edukacyjnych (OSZE) finansowanej w ramach Programu Rozwoju Obszarów Wiejskich na lata 2014-2020. Na podstawie analizy literaturowej materiałów źródłowych zaprezentowano etapy wyłonienia się inicjatywy OSZE (marka zarejestrowana w Urzędzie Patentowym RP w 2014 r.). W drugiej części tekstu zwrócono uwagę na dylematy wspierania inicjatyw w zakresie usług edukacyjnych z perspektywy pedagoga-eksperta szkoleniowego współpracującego z OSZE. Dokonano analizy treści oferty edukacyjnej 278 zagród funkcjonujących aktualnie w Polsce w kontekście założeń podstawy programowej ogłoszonej przez Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej (MEN) w 2017 r. Wyniki analiz ukazują potencjał obszarów wiejskich jako alternatywnego miejsca edukacji w środowisku „małej ojczyzny”, a zarazem gotowość mieszkańców wsi do innowacji przedsiębiorczych w zakresie usług społecznych. W podsumowaniu artykułu podjęto refleksję nad koniecznością dalszych badań związanych ze wsparciem merytorycznym właścicieli zagród edukacyjnych w podnoszeniu jakości oferowanych przez nich usług edukacyjnych dla potencjalnych adresatów oferty, którymi są dzieci i młodzież.
    The paper focuses upon the dilemmas of entrepreneurship development in the aspect of human activity supported by initiatives of local government units and the state. The aim of the article is to draw attention to entrepreneurial activity undertaken for education by entities not related to education. The first part of the text presents the activities of the Educational Farm Network (EFN). Based on the analysis of the content of the source materials, the stages of the emergence of the EFN initiative (brand registered in the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland in 2014) were presented. The second part of the text highlights the dilemmas of supporting initiatives in the field of educational services from the perspective of an educator-training expert cooperating with EFN. The content of the educational offer of 279 units of educational farm was analysed in the context of the MEN 2017 - the curriculum program base. The results of the analysis show the potential of rural areas as an alternative place of education in the “small homeland” environment and at the same time the readiness of rural inhabitants to undertake entrepreneurial innovations in the field of social services. In the summary of the article a reflection was made on the need for further research related to providing the substantive support to the owners of educational farms in the scope of improving the quality of educational services offered to children and the youth who are potential recipients of the offer.

    Przeprowadzona w artykule analiza idei wychowawczych i inicjatyw społecznych Galicji okresu autonomii ujawnia kilka istotnych elementów. Biorąc pod uwagę podstawy uzasadnienia oparte na zasadach społecznych Kościoła katolickiego, dla których impulsem była między innymi encyklika Leona XIII Rerum novarum, należy wskazać na dwa aspekty. Ukierunkowanie na „katolickość” kształtującą tożsamość dla odradzającego się narodu nie ma wymiaru uniwersalistycznego dla społeczeństwa pluralistycznego. Sytuacja społeczno-polityczna tylko częściowo uzasadnia takie podejście. Podjęta przez duchownych i osoby związane z Kościołem katolickim praca społeczna pozwoliła na odbudowanie zaufania do tegoż Kościoła.
    The article analyses the educational ideas and social initiatives of the period of autonomy in Galicia, revealing several important elements. Two aspects should be pointed out by taking into account the rationale of the social principles of the Catholic Church, for which the impetus was provided by Leo XIII’s encyclical Rerum novarum, The focus on ‘catholicity’ shaping an identity for a reborn nation does not have a universalist dimension for a pluralistic society. The socio-political situation only partially justifies this approach. The social work undertaken by the clergy and those associated with the Catholic Church has made it possible to rebuild trust in the Church.
