    Opis:
    This article discusses the values most popular with gymnasium students. Theoretical approach refers to the issue of values as such, as well as to the problem of education in human values (in the review of sociological and psycho-pedagogical literature). The empirical part of the study discusses the author’s research results. The research was aimed at investigating values which tend to be most popular with gymnasium students, and environmental factors determining students’ choices of values, as well. In total, 92 second-year students of gymnasium were surveyed (48 living in urban areas and 44 living in rural areas). The values most popular with the respondents distinguished by the place of residence were as follows: allocentric values appeared to be preferable, the second popular were hedonistic values, then pro-social values, family values and finally, material values. Having taken sex as an independent variable, two different hierarchies of values for boys and girls were established. In case of girls, the most preferable values were as reported in the following order: allocentric values, pro-social values, hedonistic values, family and material values. The boy respondents, whereas, considered hedonistic values as most important, then allocentric values, family, pro-social and material values. Finally, the problems of education in human values, transmission of values, teaching values and particularly the examples set by parents and teachers were discussed.

    The purpose of this article is to present a multifaceted analysis concerning methodology proceedin-gs in recruitment procedures for researchers. Theoretical considerations are complemented by concusions of an empirical study. The role of scientificinstitutions and values applicable in the scientificcommunity in light of popularized theories are analyzed first.Additionally, reference is made to the principles enshrined in the code of ethics of Poland’s National Research and Development Centre.Then are discussed recommended patterns of conduct which have been recorded in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, paying particu-lar attention to issues relating to openness and fairness of proceedings and equal treatment.The next part of the work discusses legal regulations applicable to the employment of academics at Polish universities. It looks closely into the differences that apply to employees at public and private universities, which can be considered from the point of view of legal provisions relating to the prin-ciple of equal treatment enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.The subsequent part of study is devoted to the conclusions of an empirical study covering the compe-tition proceedings relating to the employment of academic staff at public universities. The methodo-logy of the examination procedure is thoroughly explained and interim research questions concerning the specific issues and problems closely related to the analyzed subject are presented

    Opis:
    Problematyka wychowania moralno-społecznego nabrała szczególnego znaczenia w dwudziestoleciu międzywojennym i była uwarunkowana wielorako zarówno w skali międzynarodowej, jak i Polski. Podjęto próbę budowania wizji „nowego” człowieka, dobrze przygotowanego do życia w warunkach pokoju, działającego na podstawie idei współpracy, solidarności, sprawiedliwości itp. Potrzeba łączenia wysiłków świata intelektualnego w wypracowaniu podstaw wychowania moralnego opartego na wartościach ogólnoludzkich i narodowych stała się przedmiotem zainteresowania Międzynarodowych Kongresów Ligi Nowego Wychowania, Międzynarodowych Kongresów Wychowania Moralnego, Międzynarodowych Kongresów Nauczycieli Szkół Średnich, jak również pedagogicznych kongresów organizowanych w Polsce (Poznań 1929, Wilno 1931, Lwów 1933, Warszawa 1939). Największe autorytety nauk pedagogicznych w Europie i Polsce postulowały wzorzec człowieka stawiającego na takie wartości, jak patriotyzm, pokój, wolność, powinności społeczno-obywatelskie, przyjaźń, tolerancja, dobro, szacunek dla pracy, indywidualizm itp. Kluczową rolę we wdrażaniu tych wartości przypisywano rodzinie oraz szkole z jednoczesnym zaangażowaniem państwa w tworzeniu właściwych podstaw organizacyjno-programowych do realizacji procesu wychowania.
    The issue of a moral and social education became increasingly important during the two interwar decades and was dealt with in manifold ways on international and Polish levels. It was attempted to create the vision of a “New Man” perfectly adapted to a life in an age of peace, acting upon the ideas of cooperation, solidarity, justice etc. The practical exigency to join the forces of the intelligentsia worldwide in order to work out a reference framework of moral education based on universal human and national values became an issue of top priority for organizations like The International Conventions of the League of a New Education, The International Congress of Moral Education, The International Conventions of Secondary School Teachers as well as for conventions organized in Poland (Poznań 1929, Wilno 1931, Lwów 1933, Warsaw 1939). The leading representatives of pedagogic sciences in Europe and Poland aspired the concept of an exemplary Man, modeled on such values as patriotism, peace, freedom, a civic sense of duty, friendship, tolerance, the belief in the good, appreciation of work, individuality etc. The key roles to turn these ideas/values into reality were assigned to families and schools, whereas it was the duty of the State to provide the appropriate framework, organizational and programmatic, to accomplish the educational process successfully.
