Wzrost rangi problemów społecznych we współczesnym świecie, takich jak kryzys migracyjny w Europie czy starzenie się społeczeństwa i wzrost zachorowań na choroby cywilizacyjne, zwrócił uwagę środowiska naukowego na możliwości wykorzystania istniejącego paradygmatu logistyki do wyjaśnienia i rozwiązania problemów społecznych. Logistyka społeczna, stanowiąc propozycję ujęcia podmiotowego społecznie ukierunkowanych logistyk szczegółowych, w których przeważają zagadnienia o charakterze społecznym, zaczyna być uznawana za trzecią „czystą” postać logistyki, obok logistyki wojskowej i gospodarczej. Kontrowersje z tym związane wymagają głębokiej refleksji nad paradygmatem logistyki z perspektywy filozofii nauki. W artykule poddano weryfikacji hipotezę o współistnieniu logistyki społecznej w ramach logistyki wojskowej i gospodarczej, odrzucającą novum logistyki społecznej na poziomie konceptualnym.
Increased importance of social problems in the modern world, such as migration crisis in Europe, or ageing of the population and increase in the number of civilization diseases has drawn the attention of scientific community to the possibility of using the existing paradigm of logistics to clarify and solve social problems. Social logistics constitutes a proposal of subjective conceptualization of socially-oriented detailed logistics, in which social matters dominate, and begins to be recognized as third, “pure” form of logistics apart from military and economic logistics. The related controversy requires deep reflection on the paradigm of logistics from the perspective of the philosophy of science. In the article one verifies the hypothesis on coexistence of social logistics within the frames of military and economic logistics, rejecting the novum of social logistics as a concept.

Ekonomia instytucjonalna pojawiła się w Stanach Zjednoczonych już ponad sto lat temu. Amerykańscy ekonomiści w odróżnieniu od europejskich w małym stopniu koncentrowali uwagę na rozważaniach teoretycznych, natomiast intensywniej skupiali się na wyciąganiu wniosków, które mogły mieć praktyczne zastosowanie w polityce gospodarczej. Logistyka w ujęciu instytucjonalnym wiąże się z aspektem organizacyjnej integracji działań (czynności) logistycznych, a w gospodarce narodowej funkcjonuje w postaci kilku strategii. Głównymi wyznacznikami jej działania są zespoły metod i teorii, które odgrywają w logistyce istotną rolę. Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie i analiza wpływu ekonomicznych determinant funkcjonowania logistyki w gospodarce narodowej w ujęciu ekonomii instytucjonalnej. Głównym problemem badawczym artykułu jest próba znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie: „Jakie ekonomiczne determinanty decydują o funkcjonowaniu logistyki w gospodarce narodowej?”.
Institutional economics appeared in the United States over a hundred years ago. American economists, unlike European economists, focused their attention to a small extent on theoretical considerations, while they focused more intensively on drawing certain conclusions that would have practical application in economic policy. In institutional terms, logistics is associated with the aspect of the organizational integration of logistic activities, and in the national economy it functions according to several strategies. The main determinants of its operation are sets of methods and theories, which play an important role in logistics. The aim of the article is to identify and analyze the impact of economic determinants of logistics functioning in the national economy in the approach of institutional economy. The main research problem of the article is an attempt to answer the question: "What economic determinants determine the functioning of logistics in the national economy?".

The paper examines the classical problem of optimization of the size of a delivery to a warehouse. Using a model developed by the author, simulations were conducted using data obtained from companies in Poland. The results revealed that the impact of this optimization on the economic efficiency of an enterprise can be considerable in some cases. It is difficult, however, to develop an appropriate mathematical formula for solving such a problem. The use of a simulation seems to be more appropriate for solving this problem than optimization models.

Currently trends of macroeconomic indicators show that economy in Poland, despite the general recession in the EU, is in the stage of economic development. The question is whether these positive signals in the Polish economy in relation to domestic demand, external investment, volume of industrial production and construction are reflected also in the improvement of economic situation in Transport, Freight Forwarding and Logistics (TFL) sector in Poland. Hence the goal of the article is to analyse the economic condition of the TFL sector, which is recognized as one of the most important barometers of the economic growth.

Badania na temat uwarunkowań rozwoju usług logistycznych mają zdecydowany wpływ na kształtowanie głównych trendów i perspektyw rozwoju usług logistycznych w Europie. W badaniach uwzględnionych zostało szereg czynników, które stanowią siły napędowe lub ograniczające rozwój logistyki w gospodarce światowej. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie wybranych klasyfikacji czynników kształtujących rozwój logistyki oraz analiza aktualnych wskaźników charakteryzujących rozwój usług logistycznych w Europie. Analiza usług logistycznych została przedstawiona na podstawie kosztów logistycznych oraz charakterystyki rynku usług logistycznych z punktu widzenia wielkości sprzedaży w Europie.
Research on conditions for the development of logistics services have a decisive influence on the main trends and development perspectives of logistics services in Europe. The studies included were a number of factors which are driving forces or restricting the development of logistics in the global economy. The aim of the article is to present some grading factors shaping the development of logistics and analysis of current indicators characterizing the development of logistics services in Europe. Analysis of logistics services on the basis of BVL has been presented on the basis: logistic costs and the characteristics of the logistics market in terms of sales volume in Europe.

Changes in the transport infrastructure in China, Asia and the Russian Federation go along with the main regional geo-economic trends of their development. The core of the suggested initiatives from China is the inclusion of Asian countries and Russia in the list of transit states in order to form alternative multimodal transport corridors in the direction «East-West» (China-EAEU-EU route). The present research deals with the problems of the development of logistics infrastructure in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) with the purpose of further improvement of transit opportunities in the delivery of goods from China to the European Union. The authors of the article take into consideration that the EAEU logistics infrastructure is an established and evolvable system which is formed under the influence of globalisation processes and regionalisation of the world economy. The unified transport system of the EAEU countries formed during the Soviet period needs modernisation. Modern conditions of transportation routes in EAEU are observed on the basis of the specific examples as well as the transformation and modernisation options of a transport vector in the direction of China-EAEU-EU. The main trends in the infrastructure development in Central Asia are reflected in the regional projects of railway and automobile communications with the integrational priorities. The development of logistics infrastructure is essential for the full realisation of the transit potential inherent in the integration within the Eurasian region.

The research focuses on the setting-up of a free zone strengthening the economic diversification of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Dedicated to storage, handling and trading of high value items and in particular artworks and jewellery. The Luxembourg Freeport was inaugurated in September 2014. Using the Resource-Based View as theoretical framework, the paper aims to show what combinations of resources can have a positive impact on economic activities in connection with the Freeport. The research confirms that these activities go beyond pure logistical and operational sights. The findings highlight a triptych of resources justifying this location in an environment where art, finance and logistics seem to create a virtuous circle benefiting economic development of the country and promoting the rise of clustering effects.

During the last quarter of 2009, Poland has entered a phase of economic growth. Presently, despite the emerging financial problems in the EU zone, positive market signals can still be observed in Poland, for example increase in domestic and external demand, incoming orders in the industry sector and production capacity in companies. These changes enhance growth of production in the industry and construction sectors, which are perceived as key sectors for generating demand for transport services. Therefore the lack of market signals that indicate economic slowdown means that the conditions for transport and logistics sector development in Poland are not expected to deteriorate. The key threat to the stability of economic growth in Poland, and in consequence to transport and logistics companies, is the excess debt of public finance sector.

The aim of this study is to set forth the relationship of economic and social factors with logistics performance of countries', which is very important for their competitiveness. To achieve this, researchers had correlated the logistics performances of twenty six OECD countries with a variety of economic and social indicators and interpreted the results. Analysis of results shows that, contrary to expectations, social indicators are more related with logistics performance than economic ones. The article discussed findings and reasons for them.

The main aim of this paper is measure a level of changing infrastructure in logistics absorbtivneness contests for BRIC country. Goldman Sachs use the name BRIC, for a group of the faster growing economy in the world: Brazil, Russia, Indie and China. It was believed that this county can receive GDP on G7 level before 2041 year. The forecast was built by using some econometric models based some assumption. For our research we use some economic variable, next we analyzed dynamic changing of this variables by calculating some indices and averages levels of changing. We analyzed the level of indices and we observed the averages levels of changing. Our research we concentrated on size of the market, economic grow, changing of income and changing in demographics. Additionally we analyzed access to new technology which were imposed from quick changing on this market.

The aim of this article is to confirm the hypothesis that „the developed logistic and transport infrastructure of the region has contributed to the improvement of the economic performance of the region”. The article presents research showing the relationship between the developed elements of logistic and transport infrastructures of regions (density of roads, density of railway networks, size of warehouse space, number of intermodal trans-shipment terminals, tonnage transported in tonnes) and economic performance of regions (regional GDP, private capital productivity). The study is based on the regions of Poland with special attention to Silesia region. The results indicate that the liberalization and computerization of the TFL sector is desirable by industry leaders of the region. The research proposals can help TFL authorities, decision-makers, and leaders to make investment decisions regarding logistics and transport infrastructure.

The article focuses on the role of logistic centers in the environment of economic regionalization. The discussion indicates that logistics centers built in a particular area, create a specific economic climate which allows to consider them as a regional product. As a result, logistic centers with appropriate infrastructure of transfer would gain extra points for the change of the means of transport. Great needs of the country create a huge demand for the development of logistic centers, which in turn contributes to the development of a region. As they constitute a driving force of a country, the location of the new centers as well as upgrading and expansion of the existing ones, is very important.

The role and types of mezo-economic systems are considered, their place in the classification of economic systems. Główny cel artykułu to wskazanie podstawowych uwarunkowań wojskowego systemu zaopatrywania, zarówno podczas działań zbrojnych, jak i w czasie pokoju. Efektywny system zaopatrzenia logistyki wojskowej pozwala na zdobywanie taktycznej przewagi nad przeciwnikiem, przy jednoczesnym zapewnieniu bezpieczeństwa cywilom pozostającym za linią walk. W artykule wskazano kompleksowe spojrzenie na rozwiązania logistyki wojskowej, uwzględniające uwarunkowania Prawa zamówień publicznych, które wspomaga integracje wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne w procesie zaopatrzenia.
The main purpose of the article is to indicate the basic conditioning of the military procurement logistic system, during an armed operations and in peace time. Effective military procurement logistics system allows gaining a tactical advantage over the enemy and ensuring the safety of civilians remaining behind the line of fighting. The article is indicated in comprehensive approach to military logistics, including public procurement law, which supports internal and external integration within the supply process.
