Opis:: The article deals of assessing the competitiveness of enterprises in the confectionery industry to improve information and analytical support of ecological management. A unified methodology for assessing the competitive-ness of business entities in the context of ecological management has not yet been developed. The article proposes to assess the competitiveness of confectionery enterprises on the basis of an integral index. Its peculiarity is that, in addition to economic production, market characteristics, it also includes environmental ones, which reflect significant environmental aspects (air emissions and the formation of hazardous waste). Calculations were made and the results of the study were tested on the basis of the leading confectionery enterprises of Ukraine. This made it possible to identify among the studied set of enterprises leaders who improved economic results and strengthened their market positions by reducing anthropogenic impact on the environment, introducing ecological management and corporate social responsibility. Taking into account their successful experience will contrib-ute to the improvement of the ecological management system at other enterprises of the confectionery industry.

Opis:: The article is devoted to the process of forming ecological management instruments of industrial enterprise which belongs to weak-structured problems that are complex in nature and those that are different in qualitative dependencies between structural elements. The essence of cognitive cards is searched as a subjective model of the situation (process), based on the expertise and knowledge. Factors that are used to simulate the process of forming industrial ecological management instruments are marked on the basis of cognitive cards, in terms of achieving the overall socio-ecological-economic efficiency of its operations and its stated requirements. The character, composition and direction of the relationship between indicators within the proposed factors are defined.

Opis:: Wprowadzenie nowych, drastycznych norm emisji, zgodnych z wymogami UE, może w niedalekiej przyszłości spowodować zamykanie elektrowni opalanych węglem kamiennym, obciążających środowisko naturalne. Aby elektrownie te nie musiały być zamykane możliwe jest przystosowanie ich instalacji do obowiązujących norm środowiskowych, przez modernizację i inwestycje doposażeniowe. Działania te, oprócz zaangażowania znacznych środków inwestycyjnych, wymagają także pełnej informacji o wdrożonych technologiach obejmujących ich wycenę w powiązaniu z efektywnością ekologiczną oraz o przydatności do dalszej eksploatacji posiadanych przez elektrociepłownię środków technicznych. Z tych przesłanek wyniknął cel pracy, który dotyczył sporządzenia modelu umożliwiającego zwiększenie (podwyższenie) trafności decyzji dotyczących wyboru technologii redukcji zanieczyszczeń gazowych w określonej sytuacji ekonomicznej i technicznej zakładu. Przy rozwiązywaniu problemów związanych z modernizacją elektrociepłowni wymagana jest optymalizacja decyzji, zaś matematyczne ujęcie tematu w postaci modelu decyzyjnego gwarantuje prawidłową procedurę i kompleksowe uwzględnienie dominujących zmiennych decyzyjnych i dominujących parametrów w procesie doboru trafnych rozwiązań. Sporządzenie modelu decyzyjnego wymagało zdefiniowania, w układzie sekwencyjnym, następujących elementów: głównych celów, funkcji kryterialnej, warunku optymalizacyjnego podstawowych zmiennych decyzyjnych. Czynnikami warunkującymi podejmowanie trafnych decyzji inwestycyjnych dotyczących modernizacji EC jest znajomość aktualnie stosowanych technologii produkcji, stanu technicznego maszyn i urządzeń oraz dostępnych technologii chroniących środowisko naturalne. Istotne znaczenie mają przyjęte w modelu mierniki i kryteria oceny efektywności działań modernizacyjnych. Do podstawowych kryteriów, od których był uzależniony wybór technologii, zaliczono: skuteczność ekologiczną, efektywność ekonomiczną oraz sprawność energetyczną. Do realizacji przyjętego celu badawczego podstawowe znaczenie miało zebranie danych będących podstawą baz wiedzy dostępnych w programie, jak również zebranie i przygotowanie danych empirycznych do weryfikacji modelu. Model opracowano zgodnie ze zdefiniowanymi celami i zadaniami, przyjętymi założeniami dotyczącymi jego struktury, z rodzajem wykorzystywanych danych oraz scenariuszami badawczymi. W artykule przedstawiono strukturę i opis matematyczny zbudowanego modelu, jego implementację komputerową i weryfikację pod kątem poprawności działania.
The introduction of new, drastic, consistent with EU requirements, emission standards may cause in near future the closure of hard coal-fired power plants, affecting the natural environment. In order to avoid the closure of these power plants, possible is the adaptation of their installation to being in force environmental standards by means of modernization and equipment-related investments. These activities, apart form the engagement of considerable investment funds, require also complete information on the implemented technologies, comprising their valuation in connection with ecological ecological efficiency and the suitability of technical means, being in the power plant's possession, for further exploitation. From these promises arose the aim of the work, which concerned the development of a model enabling to improve the accuracy of decisions regarding the selection of technologies relating to the reduction of gaseous pollutions in a determined economic and technical situation of the plant. In case of solving problems connected with the modernization of a thermal-electric power station, optimization of decisions is required, and a mathematical approach to the problem in the form of a decision-making model guarantees correct procedure and comprehensive consideration of predominant decisive variables and predominant parameters in the process of accurate solution selection. The development of the decisive model has required to define, in a sequential system, the following elements: main objectives, criterial function, optimization condition of basic decisive variables. The factors conditioning accurate investment decision taking, concerning the modernization of thermal-electric power stations, is the knowledge of currently applied production technologies, technical state of machines and devices, and accessible technologies, protecting the natural environment. Essential significance have the measuring instruments and efficiency criteria of modernization activities, adopted in the model. To the basic criteria, relating to technology selection, belong: ecological efficiency, economic effectiveness and power efficiency. For the realization of the adopted investigation objective, the basic significance had the collection of data, which constituted the basis of data bases available in the programme, as well as actions aiming at the collection and preparation of empirical data for model verification. The model has been performed in accordance with defined objectives and targets, adopted assumptions concerning its structure, with the kind of data use and research scenarios. The article presents the structure and mathematical description of the constructed model, its computer implementation and verification regarding the correctness of action.

Management as a science is still evolving. The perception of this by socio-ecological relations is also changing. As a result, alternative concepts are emerging that consider current challenges. The 4th industrial revolution also causes changes, creates new products and services, and forces changes on the labor market. Different conditions for running a business are created, considered based on unprecedented criteria. Building the company's strategy plays an important role in this. The publication refers to the research of Rafał Krupski and his concept of creating a strategy with the requirements of identifying opportunities and defining the redundancy of resources and competences. This concept is confronted with the assumptions of the theory of social and ecological management.

Kompetencje ekologiczne, które powstają jako kombinacja wzajemnie uzupełniających się i wzmacniających umiejętności oraz wiedzy środowiskowej posiadanej przez menedżerów i pracowników, pozwalają przedsiębiorstwu realizować bezpieczne dla środowiska procesy produkcyjne i tworzyć produkty o wysokich standardach ekologicznych. W konsekwencji kompetencje te mogą stanowić kluczowy element sukcesu przedsiębiorstwa, istotnie decydujący o uzyskaniu przewagi konkurencyjnej, dlatego warto przyjrzeć się bliżej temu zagadnieniu.
Ecological competences, similarly to ecological products, technologies and innovations have played an increasingly important role in the development of the company, determining both the increase in company’s value and its market success for a longer period of time. Ecological knowledge and competences possessed by companies may effectively prevent the occurrence of environmental issues and properly shape environmental security, which is associated with the elimination of ecological threats not only for individual companies, but also for the entire global economy. Ecological competences, which are created as a combination of mutually complementary and strengthening skills and environmental knowledge possessed by both managers and employees, allow the company to realise its production process without threat to environment and to create products of high ecological standards. As a consequence, these competences become a key element of the company’s success, which is crucial for gaining a competitive advantage, so it is worth looking into this issue.

Opis:: The main currents of research on ambidexterity in the context of organisational security with emphasis on the role of network links are indicated. The hypothesis that ambidexterity, using governance mechanisms, can support the functioning of an organisation in both strategic and operational perspectives in the face of unexpected extreme turbulence in the environment related to the environmental factor is substantiated. This implies, on the one hand, the need to prepare a strategy of resistance and resilience and, on the other hand, a readiness for ad hoc behaviour. Ambidexterity was considered in the context of cooperation with partners, with a view to accessing certain own and partners’ resources in a crisis situation. In an ecological context, the influence of ambidexterity on the continuous improvement of the organisation’s performance was discussed, paying attention to the simultaneous efforts for radical change based on innovative actions, starting from the assumption of sustainability, in cooperation with stakeholders. A review of the concept of ambidexterity in relation to the issue of organisational security was conducted based on a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A research gap related to this area was identified. The aim of the study was to identify opportunities for the use of ambidexterity in organisations in emergency situations.

Opis:: The article is devoted to the development of methodical approaches to the management of environmental risks due to pesticide contamination of agrocenoses. An assessment of ecological risks due to the use of pesticides was carried out at the scientific research field of the Skvirskaya research station of organic production of the IAP of the National Academy of Sciences during the growing seasons of 2019–2021. The methods of assessing the ecological risks of potential pesticide contamination of agrocenoses based on the indicators of the agroecotoxicological index (AETI) and the ecotoxic impact of harmful substances (E) were used on the natural environment. It was shown that the level of environmental risk due to the use of pesticides in the research field of the station according to the weighted average indices (AETI) is characterized as low – risk, and the environmental risk due to the pesticides using is minimal. According to indicators of ecotoxicity (E), the pesticides that were used are characterized as having a low potential ecotoxic risk of impact on agrocenoses of cultivated plants. However, the total pesticide ecotoxicological load (ΣЕ = 0.425 compared to the standard EDDT = 1) indicates the possibility of disruption of ecological connectivities in the agroecosystem. One of the elements of environmental risk management can be the assessment of the pesticide load on agroecosystems and considering of the territory ability to self-clean. In order to minimize the environmental risks of pesticide contamination of agrocenoses, measures should be taken to regulate the use of chemical plant protection agents. This can be done by banning or limiting the use of pesticides that have a high level of ecotoxicity and are persistent in the soil. This will contribute to increasing the ecological safety of agro-ecosystems and the natural environment.
