Opis:
The aim of this paper was to determine the direction and extent of changes in the size of ecological land use in rural areas in the Lubelskie Voivodeship during the implementation of three Rural Development Programmes (RDPs) in the years 2004-2006, 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 (still in progress) and presentation of the RDP’s method of action for nature protection. The changes in the surface area of ecological land were assessed on the basis of an analysis of aggregate voivodship lists of the Land and Building register covering the years 2004-2016. Detailed analyses were carried out taking into account changes in the cadastral area of ecological land in rural areas in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. The investigations were carried out for 20 districts located in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, with the exclusion of four urban districts. The study showed that, in the years 2004–2016, the area of ecological land generally increased by 25% in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. However, the rate of growth was not stable: in the years 2012-2014 there was a 115 ha decrease in the area of this land. The largest changes in the area of ecological land concerned the 1st and 7th land registration groups, i.e. land belonging to the State Treasury, excluding land leased out for perpetual usufruct, and land owned by natural persons. Ecological land in the Lubelskie Voivodeship emerged mainly as a result of conversion of wasteland and various land areas.

Resource safety of agricultural production is investigated as the main condition. Its dominant registers are land resources and fertility of soil. The bearing-out of nutritives is analyzed from soil together with the harvest of agricultural cultures. It shall be underlined that for providing maintenance of areas and fertility, it is crucial to maintain a balance between the bearing-out of nutritives from soil with the harvest of agricultural cultures and compensative bringing. The major directions of maintenance of the resource providing agricultural production are the following: increase of bringing of organic fertilizers, optimization of the structure of croplands, strengthening the responsibility of land users, development of ecological culture.

This paper deals with the development of soil characteristics and its impact on the land price determination in the model territory at the South Moravia region. The available data and map resources were used (price decrees, landuse maps) to evaluate the results. Data processing was performed using the ArcGIS software tools, which created the necessary map and statistical outputs. Within the selected time segments, the quantity and quality of agricultural land is reduced in individual periods up to the present. In most cases, agricultural land is urbanized in favor of city development. For the comparison of the future development, the potential future occupation of agricultural land, which is designed according to the current territorial plan of the municipality, was assessed as well. The article also evaluates the development of the land prices according to valid decrees (historical and current). Furthermore, on the basis of a comparison of the original and updated ESEU, the difference in the price of land in the area under consideration was evaluated. The results show that over the last 180 years, the land had a total value of over 20.6 million CZK within the ESEU (in today’s prices), and according to the land-use plan, there would be another occupation in the total value of about 10 millions CZK. The results also show that the prices of the ESEU are currently 36% higher, on average, than in 2002. If this trend is maintained, a large loss of agricultural land can be expected in the future, coupled with possible problems of sustainable agriculture and, potentially, shortages of food resources.

Many countries, including Indonesia, face severe water scarcity and groundwater depletion. Monitoring and evaluation of water resources need to be done. In addition, it is also necessary to improve the method of calculating water, which was initially based on a biophysical approach, replaced by a socio-ecological approach. Water yields were estimated using the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs (InVEST) model. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and geographic weighted regression (GWR) methods were used to identify and analyze socio-ecological variables for changes in water yields. The purpose of this study was: (1) to analyze the spatial and temporal changes in water yield from 2000 to 2018 in the Citarum River Basin Unit (Citarum RBU) using the InVEST model, and (2) to identify socio-ecological variables as driving factors for changes in water yields using the OLS and GWR methods. The findings revealed the overall annual water yield decreased from 16.64 billion m3 year-1 in the year 2000 to 12.16 billion m3 year-1 in 2018; it was about 4.48 billion m3 (26.91%). The socio-ecological variables in water yields in the Citarum RBU show that climate and socio-economic characteristics contributed 6% and 44%, respectively. Land use/Land cover (LU/LC) and land configuration contribution fell by 20% and 40%, respectively. The main factors underlying the recent changes in water yields include average rainfall, pure dry agriculture, and bare land at 28.53%, 27.73%, and 15.08% for the biophysical model, while 30.28%, 23.77%, and 10.24% for the socio-ecological model, respectively. However, the social-ecological model demonstrated an increase in the contribution rate of climate and socio-economic factors and vice versa for the land use and landscape contribution rate. This circumstance demonstrates that the socio-ecological model is more comprehensive than the biophysical one for evaluating water scarcity.

W pracy dokonano analizy, w ujęciu regionalnym, liczby i wielkości gospodarstw ekologicznych, struktury użytkowania gruntów, struktury zasiewów i obsady zwierząt w tych gospodarstwach. Do przygotowania opracowania wykorzystano zbiór informacji Głównego Inspektoratu Jakości Handlowej Artykułów Rolno–Spożywczych (GIJHAR–S) oraz publikowane dane GUS charakteryzujące ogół certyfikowanych gospodarstw ekologicznych w Polsce.
The study presents the results of an analysis carried out in a regional aspect concerning the number and size of ecological farms, the land use structure, crops structure and animals bred in these farms. Data from the Chief Inspection of the Trade Quality of Food and Agricultural Products (GIJHARS) and from the Main Statistics Office which characterize the certified ecological farms in Poland were used. A large diversification of interest in environmental freindly farming (number of farms, their size and area of arable land) in Poland has been showed. Despite a dynamic development of ecological farming in Poland after the EU accession, in 2007 only 2% of Poland’s arable land was used for ecological agriculture at the average value on the level of 4,1% for 27 EU Member States.

A total of 316 soil samples in the An Giang province were collected from the industrial zone (48 samples), mining (40 samples), farming (112 samples), landfills (88 samples) and cemeteries (28 a samples) to analyze toxic elements, including Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd and As. The geoaccumulation index (Igeo), pollutant load index (PLI) and potential ecological risk index (RI) were used to assess pollution levels and ecological risks. The results showed that the concentrations of heavy metals were almost still within the allowable limits of national standards. Cd was not detected. Heavy metals were detected in the soil in the following order: As < Pb < Cu < Zn, mining < industrial < landfill < cultivation < cemetery areas. The heavy metals contributing to soil environmental variability were similarly identified in the cemetery with industry and landfill with farming. The value of Igeo shows that As has a high potential to accumulate in soil in all land uses. The ranges of PLI values presented that the soil in industrial, farming, mining and landfills areas were classified moderate, while the cemetery areas has been rated at a high level. The RI values identified very high, high, and moderate ecological risks for cemetery, industrial and farming land and landfill, mining, respectively. The combination of PLI and RI indices showed that the cemetery areas were at the highest levels of pollution and risk. The results of this study provide scientific information on pollution level and ecological risks in various land use types supporting environmental zoning and managing strategies in the An Giang province.

The need for effective and rational use of land, protection, and preservation of its qualitative state (as the agricultural land soil) is due to some negative details, namely, more than a third of the land is eroded, half of which are black soil in particular, which have an average level of nutrient supply, a lot of contaminated abandoned or overdented land. The acuteness of this problem, which has developed with regard to the protection and preservation of the land qualitative state, has become particularly relevant. The solution to this problem requires truly effective methods of influence. One of such methods is the surveillance of ecological and economic monitoring of land. The article analyzes the ecological and economic factors and factors influencing the monitoring and surveillance of land in Ukraine. Perspectives and objectives for improvements in land monitoring are highlighted. The paper discloses a theoretical synthesis and new approaches to solving the problem of environmental management, which can participate in the development of innovative economic and environmental factors of rational land use, which will contribute to enhancing the transition of Ukraine to the model of sustainable land use. The purpose of this work is a scientific analysis of the various organizational factors of monitoring and surveillance of agricultural land in relation to the current legislation in Ukraine.

W artykule przedstawiono wpływ użytkowania ziemi na stabilność ekologiczną obszarów wiejskich województwa świętokrzyskiego. Na podstawie zestawień danych dotyczących 24 form użytkowania ziemi, dostępnych w Banku Danych Lokalnych GUS, obliczono wskaźnik stabilności ekologicznej powierzchni ziemi. W obrębie terenów rolniczych i nierolniczych wyróżniono cechy korzystne i niekorzystne z ekologicznego punktu widzenia.
The paper presents the impact of land use on the ecological stability of rural areas in the Świętokrzyskie province. The work is based on the data published by the Local Data Bank regarding 24 types of land use. According to the methodology used for calculating the ecological stability indicator, these types were divided into two groups: agricultural (with positive and negative characteristics) and non-agricultural. Typological classification of communes was done with the use of Hierarchical Cluster Analysis. Research results show that rural areas of the Świętokrzyskie province have generally low ecological stability indicator, but they are characterised by high spatial diversity. The assessment of rural communes based on the ecological stability indicator may thus be one of the elements taken into consideration while drafting various planning documents, including those related to the management built on the sustainable development principles.

Art, just like our public life, is entangled in the network of discourses. In this article, using the example of ecology-related art, I present how this network develops and what could constitute an impulse to create new connections. I also indicate how the discursivization of art begins with nomenclature itself. I consider reflecting on the network of discourses and entering the level of metadiscourse as a way of freeing oneself from the limiting community of interpretation. Similarly, I see the type of art that creates spaces for joint activities as a way out of the dangerous rivalry of discourses.

The article outlines certain issues regarding land management within protected wildlife areas, such as national parks, nature reserves, landscape protection areas, NATURA 2000 areas, documentation sites, ecological areas, natural and scenic complexes. It discusses the regulations governing the establishment and management of such areas, the restrictions on land use, the principles of their economic use, as well as nature protection aims within the studies of spatial development, at the local and regional level. Ecologically protected areas in Poland represent a significant natural potential with a rich variety of nature forms and compose the structures of the ECONET network or the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. These areas frequently neighbour or surround each other. Sometimes, they are exposed to adverse influences from outside (the industry, the cities, transport), excessive tourism, or fire hazard. The existing restrictions and regulations regarding nature resources management, incorporated into conservation plans drawn up for national and landscape parks, nature reserves, or for other protected areas, become integral elements of local spatial development plans. The owner of a property situated in a transition (buffer) zone or in an protected area can demand this property to be repurchased or exchanged if there exist significant restrictions or difficulties concerning its use. Distinctive management principles are established then for protected areas and objects which safeguards them against misuse.

The article proves a particular bias in the agricultural land use for assessing the ecological and economic efficiency of only cost indicators. The methodology for evaluating the ecological and economic efficiency of agricultural land use by the energy content of foods is considered. The purpose of the article is to consider the methodology and justification of the practical significance of assessing the environmental and economic efficiency of the agricultural land use by the energy content of products. The article presents the initial ata for correlation-regression analysis on the average performance of agricultural producers of Ukraine to determine the weight of each indicator. We used land statistical collections, National reports on the state of the environment in Ukraine for the period 2012–2018. The analysis was carried out based on the average performance indicators of agricultural producers of Ukraine to determine the weight of factors and leverage on the ecological and economic efficiency of agricultural land use. The output of a unit of land in relative terms through exchange energy is not only a kind of indicator, a criterion for the efficient use of agricultural land but also a criterion for the effectiveness of all production activities of agricultural producers, a particular district, and even regions. The main advantage of the proposed approach is the focus on achieving the ultimate goal of agricultural production, which allows us to recommend it for extended use in assessing the ecological and economic efficiency of agricultural land use.

The article is devoted to the actual scientific and practical problem of improving methodological and methodical approaches to the evaluation of design solutions in the water management and land reclamation industry based on the ecological and economic principles in conditions of uncertainty. The current stage of the development of the water management sector in Ukraine is characterized by a combination of past negligence and the present energy, food and water crises, as well as global climate change. To solve these problems, it is necessary to reform organizational-economic relations in the industry, including new sources and forms of financing for water management and land reclamation projects, introduction of new environmentally advanced technologies, and the improvement of the existing ecological and economic evaluation of investments. Based on scientific and methodological recommendations used for evaluating the effectiveness of investment in various spheres of economic activity, the authors developed and implemented an improved methodology for the evaluation of water management and land reclamation projects. It is based on methodological approaches that cover such elements as the variety of options, changes in the value of money over time, specific project implementation environment, including the impact of weather, climate and environmental factors on project performance, multilevel and gradual evaluation of a project against specific criteria and according to stages of the project cycle. The method was tested during the reconstruction of a rice irrigation system in the steppe zone of about 3000 ha in Ukraine. Economic results, namely the deterministic payback period and investment return index confirm that the proposed mechanism, unlike the traditional one, increases the economic and environmental feasibility of water management and land reclamation projects. Therefore, it stimulates investment in the land reclamation sector.
