    This article focuses on the diatom assemblages and geochemical composition of sediment cores retrieved from the Pomeranian Bay. We also discuss similarities and differences in the diatom assemblages and the palaeogeographic development of nearby regions. Our main objective was to determine the characteristics and rate of the Littorina transgression in the Pomeranian Bay area. Sediments were divided into units based on differences in the distribution of diatom ecological groups and in geochemical ratios, such as Mg/Ca, Na/K and Fe/Mn. This study identified lacustrine sediments deposited during the time of the Ancylus Lake. This lacustrine-period sedimentation took place in a shallow lake under aerobic conditions. The record of the onset of marine environment dates to 8900–8300 cal BP and corresponds to the Littorina transgression. After about 8300 cal BP, sedimentation took place in a deeper marine environment with higher biogenic production and anaerobic conditions. The abrupt appearance of marine diatom species and increased geochemical salinity indicators reflect the large impact of the Littorina transgression on the Pomeranian Bay environment.

    Opis:
    Ratownictwo chemiczno-ekologiczne, rozumiane jako działalność ratownicza, metodyka organizowania procesu ratowniczego oraz system współdziałających jednostek, stanowi jeden z obszarów zadań realizowanych przez Państwową Straż Pożarną. Przeznaczone jest do prowadzenia działań minimalizujących negatywne skutki oddziaływania niebezpiecznych substancji chemicznych na człowieka, jego środowisko i mienie. W artykule podjęto się zatem próby ukazania istoty i roli jaką pełni straż pożarna w tego rodzaju ratownictwie. Analizę rozpoczyna krótki rys historyczny przedstawiający drogę kształtowania się i rozwoju ratownictwa chemiczno-ekologicznego począwszy od lat sześćdziesiątych XX wieku, po dzień dzisiejszy. Przedstawiono obecne unormowania i wytyczne do organizowania działań ratowniczych oraz charakterystykę sprzętu niezbędnego do ich realizacji. Z uwagi na fakt, że w organizowaniu działalności ratowniczej niezbędna jest współpraca wielu podmiotów, aspekt ten rozpatrzono na podstawie porozumień zawartych pomiędzy Państwową Strażą Pożarną a innymi służbami, instytucjami oraz organizacjami pozarządowymi, poprzez przedstawienie zasad i zakresu ich współpracy.
    Chemical and ecological rescue understood as an emergency activity as well as methodology of response process organization and system of interpreting rescue units constitutes one of the tasks performed by the State Fire Service. Its main goal is to minimize negative effects of hazardous chemical substances on human life, his property and environment. In the article an attempt to present the essence and the role of fire services to this end has been made. Analysis begins with a short historical background presenting the way of creation and development of chemical and ecological rescue. Actual legal status, i.e. standards and guidelines for the organization of rescue operations and characteristics of equipment necessary for their implementation have been presented. Considering the fact that an organization of emergency activity requires full cooperation of many entities, this aspect has been examined on a basis of bilateral agreements signed between the State Fire Service and other institutions or NGOs, by presenting rules and range of their possible cooperation.

    The 2021 Programme Study of the Prądnik Museum sums up the discussion on the presentation of the heritage of northern Cracow. The world-renown artists Jerzy Bereś and Maria Pinińska-Bereś who lived and created their art in this part of the city are not exposed within the public space, and most likely for this reason they have not been exposed in the Study, either. Meanwhile, without any institutional involvement, residents undertake artistic actions close to the performances of the Bereśes. The Sledge Protest conducted in the summer reminds of the Landscape Annexation and The Banner of Pinińska-Bereś; social garden establishing reminds of the Living Pink; the transfer of the Prądnik River water is reminiscent of the Praying for Rain; while neighbourly bonds echo the Kite-Letter and Letters Dispatched with Forces of Nature. Owing to these unconscious similarities the Pinińska-Bereś’s artistic output seems worthy of being included in the proposed Museum. Furthermore, three additional proposals for the Prądnik Museum are discussed in the paper: they take into consideration the oeuvre of the Bereśes, residents’ social and artistic activity, as well as the demands of New Museology (rooting in the local community and focus on education and participation). A performance museum may be a reaction to the lack of collection, allowing to benefit from the artistic output of the community and the artists presently living in Cracow, including Bettina Bereś’s reenactment. A biographical museum may provide an opportunity for storytelling and identity investigation, as well as bonding. The inspiration for the latter may be derived from the Yayoi Kusama Museum: it was her oeuvre that was used for the visual identification in her native city of Matsumoto. An ecomuseum, in turn, allows to incorporate the preserved atelier of the Bereśes, the Prądnik River, as well as the post-industrial heritage. Adding this potential to the conclusions drawn from the Study, in the northern part of Cracow a new city landmark can indeed be created.

    In the perspective of regulatory changes taking place in the municipal and residential sector of the heating coal market, it is necessary to adapt the product offer to environmental requirements included in legal acts at the international, state and local level. The responsibility of PGG S.A. as the leading producer of heating coal is to adapt the product portfolio to the growing demand for fuel supporting the prevention of the widely harmful phenomenon of smog. The article presents the current PGG S.A. assortment, along with the most important parameters defining the quality of fuels.
