Civilization development has led to emerging of many facilities in human life and business, but has also introduced major changes and created a new order that over time has come to be in opposition to nature. The possibility to reconcile ecological, economic and social reasons is to be found in the idea of sustainable development. The prerequisite for achieving sustainable development is education, which is one of the fundamental human rights that enables integral development. The purpose of the study was to verify the role and importance of education in the emergence and implementation of a circular economy idea. As it turned out, research has shown that sustainable development is largely dependent on the implementation of the circular economy in which the education is a fundamental and necessary tool.

Opis:
This article concerns widely perceived ecological education being provided among country youth by People’s Universities, their homeland is Denmark and M. F. S. Grundvig is concerned to be their father. He observed English educational system and the way of education with the usage of boarding schools and then he transmitted it to Denmark, where at the end of the 18th c. and at the beginning of the 19th century the role of peasants, who reached for power and had their own farms, increased, therefore, there was a necessity to create an integrated educational system for those people. Thiss way of educating was then carried to Poland by Ignacy Solarz and his wife Zofia Solarzowa - that took place in the mid-20th century. A special tribute of these educational institutions was reaching those country groups of people who were hungry for knowledge and social advance. People’s Universities had and have ecological education established in their educational programme. However, this education concerns integrated, harmonic and balanced development of the human being, since, if ecology means the knowledge about the environment, it is the human being that should be the most important, that should be the subject.In this system of educating one is not only concerned in gaining the knowledge, but also in ability to pass the gained knowledge, expressing one’s opinions, ability to make relations with people and with the world. This system is about the most integrated development of a student’s personality, the ecological education must not limit itself just to care about the nature, but it should also take into consideration the human’s psychology, environment in which one was brought up and also the values with which one was fed. That is why this widely taken ecology should not omit religious, cultural and patriotic values. And People’s Universities draw their attention to this kind of values.

The following text shows what environmental education is, as its priorities have been formulated in the National Strategy for Environmental Education. In addition, it shows the areas in which knowledge is acquired in this field. Next, a study report on the state of educational content introduction in education programs at all stages of formal education was discussed.

Kordian Bakuła’s article deals with chosen problems of ecological humanities. Adolf Dygasiński’s short story has been regarded as a precursor of contemporary trends in the humanities due to the way in which it addresses issues which are alive and topical nowadays: natural cultivation of truth, sensual and direct cognition, coexistence and compassion with nature. According to Bakuła, they constitute the project of the natural secular humanities.

Opis:
The concept of global education is based on the recognition of the world as a network of interdependencies and on realizing the fact that the current direction of the development of civilization is leading to environmental and humanitarian disaster. On the other hand, there is a belief that there is still a chance to change this state of affairs by means of education. The purpose of education is recognized as not only a transfer of knowledge, but also as a transfer of morals that are able to generate a shift in attitudes. In order to strengthen the impact of the global education project, it is necessary to provide a coherent description and axiological analysis of the values behind it. In the paper, we argue that ethicists should work on building philosophical arguments for the development and implementation of global education programs. We argue further that such a philosophical framework should be based on the ideas of new humanism (proposed by Aurelio Peccei) and global responsibility (formulated by Hans Jonas).

Wspólnota wiejska jest niezwykłym miejscem, które przejmuje ze swojego otoczenia elementy funkcjonującej w nim kultury w postaci: norm zachowań, wartości, społecznych oczekiwań oraz wszystkie informacje dotyczące ważnych dla wspólnoty wydarzeń. Stąd mieszkańcy wsi tak mocno się utożsamiają i integrują ze swoim środowiskiem lokalnym. Taką zależność można z powodzeniem wykorzystać w edukacji ekologiczno-turystycznej uzdolnionej młodzieży wiejskiej, która stanowi przedmiot badań autorki. Bowiem właśnie w specyficznym środowisku jakim jest wieś - nieocenioną rolę, może odgrywać lepsze poznanie poprzez turystykę środowiska w którym ta młodzież żyje. Rozwinięcie zainteresowań uzdolnionej młodzieży wiejskiej tematyką związaną z ochroną praw przyrody, poznaniem zasad które nią rządzą, odkrywaniem piękna swojej rodzimej okolicy, propagowaniem jej walorów, może stanowić istotny element rozwoju zdolności młodzieży wiejskiej i przyczyniać się do zrównoważonego rozwoju turystyki.
A rural community is a unique place that takes over particular elements functioning in its culture from the surroundings in the form of standards of behaviour, values, social expectations and all the information concerning significant community events. Hence, villagers identify and integrate with their local environment to such an extent. The described dependence may be successfully used in touristic-ecological education of gifted rural youth, which is studied by the author. Bearing in mind that the countryside is a specific milieu, a better understanding of environment, in which rural youth live, via tourism can play an invaluable role. The development of interests among talented youth from rural areas, referring to the issues related to the protection of nature and the rules that govern it, discovering the beauty of one’s native area and promoting its values, may constitute a significant element of the development of rural youth abilities and contribute to the sustainable development of tourism.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present the initiatives and activities of local governments to support citizen power, using the example of the Municipal Office in Słupsk. Thanks to intersectoral cooperation, the inhabitants had the opportunity to take advantage of the free replacement of LED lighting and thermostats from Danfoss, which resulted in 20% savings and the reduced energy poverty. Greenpeace funded a photovoltaic installation for a school and IKEA for a homeless shelter. As part of the SCORE program, the city implemented a pilot solution of consumer shareholding, so that the benefits of renewable energy can be accessed by the citizens. An important role in this process is also played by the Bioenergetic Cluster initiated by the local government. Słupsk was the first city in Poland to set up a presidential council and plenipotentiary for sustainable development and the green modernization of the city, green points and introduced integrated ecological education.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie inicjatyw i działań organów samorządowych na rzecz wsparcia energetyki obywatelskiej. Posłużono się przykładem Urzędu Miejskiego w Słupsku. Dzięki międzysektorowej współpracy z przedsiębiorcami mieszkańcy mieli możliwość skorzystania z bezpłatnej wymiany oświetlenia na ledowe oraz otrzymania termostatów podarowanych przez firmę Danfoss, co przyniosło ponad 20% oszczędności. Greenpeace ufundował instalację fotowoltaiczną dla szkoły, a IKEA dla schroniska dla bezdomnych. Miasto w ramach programu SCORE wdraża pilotażowe rozwiązanie akcjonariatu konsumenckiego, tak aby zyski z energii odnawialnej mogli czerpać obywatele. Ważną rolę w tym procesie odgrywa również zainicjowany przez samorząd Słupski Klaster Bioenergetyczny. Słupsk jako pierwsze miasto w Polsce powołał radę prezydencką oraz pełnomocnika ds. zrównoważonego rozwoju i zielonej modernizacji miasta, zielone punkty oraz wprowadził zintegrowaną edukację ekologiczną.

Rozwój militarny sił zbrojnych, ciągłe zwiększanie ilości i jakości zadań wykonywanych, zwłaszcza na rzecz polskich kontyngentów wojskowych, stawia przed dowódcami konieczność nie tylko stałego doskonalenia umiejętności podległych żołnierzy, ale także wprowadzania nowych rozwiązań i technologii w dziedzinie ochrony środowiska. Trudność tego zadania polega przede wszystkim na pogodzeniu ze sobą priorytetowej dla żołnierzy realizacji poleceń przełożonych, z troską o ochronę środowiska, nawet w warunkach zagrożenia, jakim są misje międzynarodowe. Rola edukacji ekologicznej pozwala na realizowanie zadań z troską o właściwe zabezpieczenie środowiska i jest integralnym elementem szkolenia na każdym etapie drogi służbowej każdego żołnierza. Można prognozować, że w najbliższych latach negatywne oddziaływanie na środowisko naturalne wszelkich działań prowadzonych przez siły zbrojne, będzie się znacznie zmniejszać.

Ludzie nigdy nie przestaną się uczyć i rozwijać swych umiejętności. Edukacja łączy się z różnymi sferami i momentami życia człowieka. Choć uczenie się związane jest głównie z pracą szkoły, nie powinno się nie doceniać procesu kształcenia dokonującego się także poza szkołą. To, czego się nauczyliśmy w wielkim stopniu wpływa na to, jakimi ludźmi jesteśmy. Im więcej wiemy, im bardziej świadomi jesteśmy, jak rozwija się świat, tym lepiej rozumiemy zjawiska dokonujące się  wokół nas, a przez to stajemy się zdolni do pełnego uczestnictwa w życiu społeczeństwa.
People never stop learning and developing their skills. Education is associated with different spheres and different moments of people's lives. The learning process is mainly linked with schools, however, we should not underestimate that process which takes place outside schools as well. What we have learned, contributes, to a great extent, to what sort of people we are. The more we know, the more aware of the nearby World development, the more aware of phenomena understanding, phenomena that take place around us and, therefore, allow us to participate in all society activities.

Zrównoważony rozwój jest aktualnie istotnym wyzwaniem w kształtowaniu świadomości nie tylko danych grup społecznych, lecz również – w szerszym rozumieniu – ogółu obywateli. Podejmując tę problematykę, należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę na rolę edukacji wszystkich etapów kształcenia w propagowaniu idei odpowiedzialności za środowisko naturalne i tym samym ekorozwoju. Szczególnie ważne w kształceniu w myśl zasad edukacji prośrodowiskowej jest podjęcie w placówkach szkolnych wszelkich działań, których celem jest stymulowanie świadomości środowiskowej młodzieży, a także przygotowanie kadry pedagogicznej do wdrażania szeregu metod i strategii pozwalających na uzyskanie jak najlepszych wyników w procesie edukacji młodego pokolenia.

Opis:
People never stop learning and developing their skills. Education is associated with different spheres and different moments of people's lives. The learning process is mainly linked with schools, however, we should not underestimate that process which takes place outside schools as well. What we have learned, contributes, to a great extent, to what sort of people we are. The more we know, the more aware of the nearby World development, the more aware of phenomena understanding, phenomena that take place around us and, therefore, allow us to participate in all society activities.
Ludzie nigdy nie przestaną się uczyć i rozwijać swych umiejętności. Edukacja łączy się z różnymi sferami i momentami życia człowieka. Choć uczenie się związane jest głównie z pracą szkoły, nie powinno się nie doceniać procesu kształcenia dokonującego się także poza szkołą. To, czego się nauczyliśmy w wielkim stopniu wpływa na to, jakimi ludźmi jesteśmy. Im więcej wiemy, im bardziej świadomi jesteśmy, jak rozwija się świat, tym lepiej rozumiemy zjawiska dokonujące się  wokół nas, a przez to stajemy się zdolni do pełnego uczestnictwa w życiu społeczeństwa.
